Yes, I was addicted to Coke. I didn't drink caffine in the form of tea or coffee, and no alcohol. But Coke... yep. Loved it.

Me and DP would drink 2L a day easily.

I have found that my problem was that when I thought I was making healthy choices, they weren't healthy at all. I've got a much better understanding of things now, and hopefully made changes for life.

Only time will tell. I certainly will never go back to cooking with oil. I don't miss it, and food now tastes better without it.

Kyz · 10/08/2013 15:03

Sounds like the early wake up was a good thing for you! Maybe now you've gone for a run its the start of getting a bit more prep done for the climb? Brill stuff :)

detective Pepsi max and Pepsi max cherry are the only ones I really like too. I don't like orangey flavoured zero sugar things, coke zero is ok but I prefer the Pepsi ones by a mile. Any idea why o is whinging today? Teefs?

madame I'm the same, very much want to make sure Eric has healthy eating habits. I know it'll help massively though if I adopt them for myself too. I think I have a good understanding on healthy food/portions etc but putting it into practice is another thing altogether.

det even though I stopped doing sw I did still keep habits like using fry lite and not drinking pints of milk at a time

TheDetective · 10/08/2013 15:07

Fuck knows. I am currently blaming it on the Mango in the EK pouch I gave him last night for dinner. We have run out of stuff in the freezer again!!

Mango seems to upset him, or at least make him vomit more. But I figured there was such a tiny amount in it (lamb and cous cous) that he might be okay. So I think it could be that. But I don't actually know. Confused

YY to the cherry pepsi max. I have a glass in my hand right now. :)

PetiteRaleuse · 10/08/2013 15:15

I love lemonade. The proper stuff. I mix it with violet syrup and it's lush.

Hmm. A Gleek. Is that a good thing? It's so fun though. It's such easy viewing, and very easy on the eye.

Right our local fire brigade are having their annual festival in the village. You (well, children) get to ride in fire engines and they do a firework display at 11, which is far too late for the girls but we won't be able to miss it as it is in the park at the end of the street. Plus there's a big open air bbq.

I can't decide whether or not to wander down to have an ogle at the firemen a look or whether to watch another episode of Glee. I can't believe how difficult simple decisions have become. It is preghead aftermath or the recent stress?

DH is fannying around in the garden, psyching himself up to mowing the grass so maybe we should all go down later on. And eat sausages. So, a perv and sausage evening or cosy night in with Glee? Wwyd?

PetiteRaleuse · 10/08/2013 15:16

Sometimes I get cravings for Fanta orange. I hate the stuff but occasionally nothing else will do. Still trying to work out who pidg's comment early morning was directed at though.

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 10/08/2013 15:18

Perving now, gleekdom later. Best of both!

Kyz · 10/08/2013 15:23

No idea pr, if directed at me, fair enough, but all I really have to say back is if it were that easy for me, I would do. I am not a glee fan but each to their own, I know lots of people that love it :) my 11yo sister loves it. Based on that, since I'm not a gleek I'd have to go to the fire brigade festival.

det it is weird how he seems to have a funny kind of turn with mango. I wonder if it was that... Does he have a problem with similar fruits, or does it just seem to be mango?

TheDetective · 10/08/2013 15:30

No, AFAIK just mango. It was DP who noticed it, not me, but once he said it I realised he was right.

So I stopped giving it. But there was only a tiny amount in the dinner last night, so kinda hoped it wouldn't bother him. Seems it did. Hmm

He's a little better after a sleep now. He's playing finally. Rather than being a klingon Grin.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/08/2013 15:35

I will never give up coke. Ever. I try and limit myself but it is my only source of caffeine and I love it. When I went to see my gastroenterologist last week I made a point on mentioning I drank it and he confirmed that contrary to internet rumours coke doesn't eat your stomach, but it isn't the best thing to drink.

I'm going to have to go out and buy box sets of Glee. The episodes I am watching are from season four. Please tell me there's nothing DD1 shouldn't be seeing in there? It's nice to findnsomething we both enjoy rather than being made to sit through endless cbeebies. Yah I know, when they go to nursery I will miss Messrs Bloom and Tumble. Hmm i'll have to throw myself into my work to fill the gaping void.

ValiumQueen · 10/08/2013 16:08

Daisy had mentioned swapping to diet versions of drinks, so I think PPs comment was relating to that. I think diet versions are just as 'bad' as the full fat ones, but in a different way. However it is not easy just giving things up. I now try to avoid all diet or low fat stuff as I tend to eat twice as much!

Sadly eating healthily, cutting the crap and eating small amounts is easy to say but harder to do, for a multitude of reasons. If I could give up food completely I would be fine. My history of eating disorder is testimony to that.

ChasingDaisy · 10/08/2013 16:22

PR I think it was aimed at daisy. I love Glee. I only watched the first two series' though as I don't have Sky. I think I would find it too upsetting to watch now though. In the upcoming series they will be writing Finn out and doing a bit of background about drug abuse.

Passmethecrisps · 10/08/2013 16:24

There are worse things than fizzy juice.

People beat themselves up over lots of things. Liking chocolate or enjoying a wee Pepsi max is not really an issue in the grand scheme of things.

I don't drink fizzy drinks. We never have chocolate or crisps in the house (or almost never). Our diets are rich in fruit and veg. However, it takes 5 cups of brewed coffee to get me to leave he house in the morning and wine to help me sleep. So shoot me

Passmethecrisps · 10/08/2013 16:27

Mum and dad are here now BTW. P has been showing off her independent standing skillz. As well as her shouting skillz

Kirrin · 10/08/2013 16:38

I used to drink too much coke. I cut down by restricting myself to having 1 between Mon-thurs and another between Fri- sun. The plan was to then cut down to one a week but i never did. Tbf that is my only vce really and I was drinking 2 cans a day so I think I've done pretty well. Perhaps picking a day when you can't have any kyz and then taking it from there?

Fair point chasing but maybe a plan for the future? you've done amazingly well with everything you have done so far :)

PetiteRaleuse · 10/08/2013 16:40

Went to the party in the village. Must have been a quiet moment as there was no-one there. Loud bad French music was blaring from a tent though.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/08/2013 16:42

Oh sorry I completely missed Daisy's post. I've been trying to work it out all day. Sorry pidj wasn't having a go just couldn't work it out. My brain's going to mush.

TheDetective · 10/08/2013 17:37

PR, don't buy them. I'll send you the first 2 seasons. I have them - I got them as a birthday present. The only person who watched them was DS1 Grin.

I'll have a look shortly and make sure I have all the disks and he hasn't scratched any (he's quite careful with them usually so should be fine!).

I'll send you a message later!

TheDetective · 10/08/2013 17:43

Yes, I think we all have our vices.

I don't want to be super thin, not even bothered about being a size 10. 12-14 is fine by me.

I want to be able to enjoy food, but have a sensible attitude to it.

I think I am doing okay now. Given I've never done any of this before.

I think this is manageable.

There are some things I do miss, but now I have decided once a week we will have those things (in moderation and I am still choosing lower calorie/fat things in those things). I can happily go all week and wait for a night off now. I didn't think I'd be able to do that when I started. I'm 3 1/2 months in now, and I can see a difference to how I feel about food.

A lot of people have 'bad weeks' when I go to the SW group, and talk about not sticking to plan etc. I've been very lucky in that I have found it easy, and manageable - but I think that is because I have been off work. The true test will be once I am back at work, and I will have to plan and be totally organised. Or bad habits will slip back.

TheDetective · 10/08/2013 17:45

Does anyone elses baby absolutely love having their ears cleaned? I've never really done O's before, just getting them wet in the bath seemed to be enough. But they seem quite waxy right now. So I gently cleaned the outside wax build up with a bud. He bloody loved it! Sat there shaking with glee, grinning and cooing in excitement! Weird child!

He also kept putting his head on my lap and nuzzling with affection!

PetiteRaleuse · 10/08/2013 17:51

That's very kind Detective Flowers I will of course pay you for them, and the postage which is stupid amounts nowadays.

TheDetective · 10/08/2013 17:55

Don't want paying for them!

fruitpastilles · 10/08/2013 17:57

Yes det ! S absolutely loves having her ears cleaned! She grins and moves her head round slowly as if she's getting massage lol!

PetiteRaleuse · 10/08/2013 18:04

I will definitely paypal you the postage. Or I could send you a care package from La Belle France if you like..

LO is doing a lot of shaking her head and grinning at the moment. I wonder if she enjoys making herself feel dizzy, or doesn't shaking heads do that to everyone? I hadn't thought about her possibly needing her ears clean. I tend to stay away from her ears
