Lostbobbles · 07/08/2013 21:50

Oh and I got a vitamix blender Grin anyone for a smoothie,soup,cocktail.....

octanegirl · 07/08/2013 21:57

For what it's worth mine went through a terrible sleep period that lasted till he was about 5.5 months. He'd wake several times per night etc etc. I persevered with the routine no matter what and now he goes to sleep on the dot of 7, I wake him for a dream feed at 1030 and he then sleeps till about 7.30 am.
You just have to stick with the routine, day in, day out, even if it takes weeks or months (the latter in my case). Don't get disheartened, it works in the end!
I agree re the day time napping. Mine naps for 45 mins in the morning, between 45mins-1.5hrs at lunchtime and usually another 30 mins at about 5. Definitely helps as then he doesn't get too crotchety. I do always feed him at the same time each day too (the milk feeds) and fit in the solids as and when.

BuntyCollocks · 07/08/2013 22:01

Hello everyone!

C hasn't napped today and is bring a wee shit. Happy days.

octanegirl · 07/08/2013 22:02

ps I forgot to say he's just discovered that he can MOVE! He rolls over and over like a seal and also rotates in circles like a lazy susan. He's often quite far from where I put him down. It's very funny. He's just starting to lift his bum off the floor so I wonder what will happen next...
On the food front he's starting to swallow instead of spit. I know this because of the contents of the nappies. It is wrong to be totally fascinated by infant poo?

Pascha · 07/08/2013 22:02

Spinach and ricotta, Birdies. and if by homemade you mean taken out of the packet and dunked in boiling water for 2 minutes then yeah, made with my own fair hands Wink. I stirred a bit of olive oil through to stop them sticking and sliced them in half.

30 weeks it is, Apple, thank you. I'll have a cocktail please Lost Grin

Hormonalhell · 07/08/2013 22:05

Birdies thanks, certainly doesn't seem that way when I'm doing it Grin

Lost bobbles yes we were, hi there!! Wasn't Lois borna couple of days before Charlie? Around 10th?? Can't believe she is crawling. Charlie just not into crawling but walks around if you hold him up and zooms around the kitchen in his baby walker!!Grin

Lostbobbles · 07/08/2013 22:11

Hormonal, yes Lois is the 11th now can Charlie please send her some of his genius sleeping skills

Hormonalhell · 07/08/2013 22:58

Ha yes lost but the difference is he's male n I would say they are the lazier of the sexes Grin

AppleCrumples · 07/08/2013 22:58

octane 1 word wheetabix

LetThereBeCupcakes · 08/08/2013 06:16

Birdies yes we do try that, but there's always something to distract him. Like the label on the towel I keep close by in case he unlatches. Or my nose. Or his own feet.

Can you get baby blinkers?

We did have a reasonable night last night. He was a bit unsettled from 6.30 -7.30, then slept until 10.30. Couldn't get him back in his cot after that so brought him into bed with me and he slept until 3.30! Quick feed and he went back 'til 5.30.

Hoping to get him to go back to sleep again now, he's looking sleepy.

glorious · 08/08/2013 06:43

Welcome back cupcakes and Grin at baby blinkers. I'd buy some too, shall we go into business? I'd also like to get a scratching post for nails like cats use, or possibly something similar that sticks on your chest so they wear their nails down instead of gouging your skin while feeding.

Thanks angielka and octane . I went to bed at 8 last night and DH dealt with the 4 wakings between then and 1030 so I got some extra sleep. And this morning she's only really woken at 6 Smile

pascha I'm impressed at the ravioli.

Bunny222 · 08/08/2013 07:46

Am on strike! :-( we had a frustrating game of musical beds which began at midnight and ended at 4am in our bed with a bottle. No help from DH of course.

What is going on??!! :-( dont know how to fix this, we are definately going backwards.
Forgot how pants no sleep is. Sorry for rant. Feeling for the other non sleepers!

Angielka · 08/08/2013 08:15

Argh. No sleep between 1.30 and 3 because DD1 woke with a nightmare and then Molly woke wanting a feed and then woke every time I tried to out her back in her cot. Nightmare. zzzzzzzzzz

Birdies · 08/08/2013 08:39

Serves me right for laughing apples, up every couple of hours last night. What is going on with these babies?! Is it a full moon?!

pascha, do you bother with low salt ravioli or just let him try anything?

I can feel the peg when she's feeding :(

lollipoppi · 08/08/2013 08:55

Hi all!
We are in teething HELL, DD has packed bags and is currently living in a small town called Grumpsville.
Apple how has Ivy coped so well with all her teeth coming through? she must nearly have a full set now Smile

What's going on with all the non sleeping babies? DD was up between 2am - 4am then woke for the day at 6

CreepyCrawly · 08/08/2013 08:56

Not a great night here either. Up 3 (4 because I gave in and fed her) times. She's not hungry, but it's the only way she'll settle. I woke DH up so he could try settling her seeing as he has no milk, "what do you want me to do?" Ffs I just got up myself.

No pegs or anything here yet! Not even any signs any more, apart from perhaps the night wakings.

LOVE the idea of baby blinkers! I'm also going to put socks on the dog. I don't get scratched much, I get slapped though. I made the mistake of laughing when she slapped my boob once, so obviously I want it continuously slapped.

Fingers crossed for good days all round!

lollipoppi · 08/08/2013 08:58

Oops pressed send too soon!

Bunty, no naps ALL day? Wine For you!

v impressed with the ravioli!

Meringue33 · 08/08/2013 09:01

Lol at all the non sleeping babies, because if I didn't laugh I'd cry!

He is mental Hmm. I actually got not a bad sleep last night as just took him in with us about half one when he failed to settle. Slept quite well apart from waking a few times to tell DP to roll over and face baby as I was scared he had his back to him. And baby woke once but DP cuddled him back to sleep. Up at five to six tho!

Meringue33 · 08/08/2013 09:02

Just read that back and can't believe that's what passes for a good night these days! Lol :)

Loveitall · 08/08/2013 09:17

morning all, just catching up on all the threads from yesterday.
Big hugs for all of you with non sleepers! Touch wood ds is a good sleeper. Tho I am waiting for a blip in normal proceedings!
He's finished off the baby cereal I bought him when first started weaning so am going to give weetabix a go tomorrow.
Today am going round to visit a friend in the morn who has a ds around the same age is always fun to see the two interact with each other. Then this afternoon carrying on decorating...heading over to my mums tonight I think if we get painting so he not affected by the paint fumes.

Have a good day one and all x

woody2313 · 08/08/2013 10:07

Hi all! Haven't posted for ages; hope you are well and enjoying your little ones. I feel incredibly lucky to have produced the most gorgeous, chilled out, happy baby ... Just a shame he has decided nighttime sleep is for wimps! 2 weeks of seriously interrupted sleep after I thought we'd cracked it when he slept for 11.5 hours twice! Thanks Glorious for suggesting I come back on here for company Smile

glorious · 08/08/2013 11:10

Welcome back woody :-)

Sorry my baby has broken everyone else's Sad

LetThereBeCupcakes · 08/08/2013 12:03

glorious don't worry - I think mine was faulty from the start!

DS has just fallen asleep on DH. DH tried to transfer him to his cot but he was having none of it, so now DH is stuck Grin.

I'm eating my dinner in peace and playing on MN.

Those of you with none-sleepers - have you seen this babyandbump.momtastic.com/general-chatter/243964-sleeping-through-night-babys-point-view.html? It's quite old I think but I read it now and then. Makes me chuckle and keeps me sane (ish).

Bunny222 · 08/08/2013 12:14

Cupcakes that is brilliant. Just got a giggle out of me despite my sulky no-sleep mood! ;-)

At least we're all in the same rocky boat together...

Lostbobbles · 08/08/2013 14:35

Can't believe she's nearly 7 months and hasn't slept through once yet.... If she wasn't so cute I'd send her back Wink
