Shock at Darcie getting up the stairs! They are all so fast now aren't they? Little buggers. Dan spends the time trying to get to the cats water bowl to tip it all over himself Hmm. He's pulling up to stand all the time in the last couple of days so stair climbing can't be that far away?

And ShockShock at gunshots!

DS1 is suddenly a little jealous of Dan and the play can get a bit rough sometimes. I turned round hearing them both laughing yesterday to find DS1 sitting on Daniel quite hard, there's some jealousy there too which is new. I'm just dealing with each incident as it comes and trying to give DS1 more attention when I can. Its not so easy though.

Daniel is in the big-boy buggy, not the carseat though, not for some time. 9-12m trousers fit lengthwise but are too baggy on the waist. Looking for some cheapo waterproof soft shoes now as DS1's are all too small for him. More as toasty feet coverings than actual shoes really. He gets too hot in the sling in pramsuits so I'd rather keep to trousers/tights/bootees for now til he really needs proper footwear.

OMG lolli!! C has made it up 1 stair whilst I watched, but no way would she manage them all (I hope!) well done, but also a wag of the finger at her - naughty baby worrying mummy!

angiel I would go apeshit. Release the tiger mum ;)

glorious poor Ellen :( it is awful when they're like that, esp at an event for some reason. Hope the wee lamb feels better soon.

I'm sat in bed with tea, toast and work laptop. C is sleeping.

I've called in the health visitors. Sleep is shot to shit. They're coming Tuesday. 6 days to get through ...

BuntyCollocks · 16/10/2013 09:10

apples ?? I'd still be under my bed hiding with chocolate and wine for sustenance

Birdies · 16/10/2013 17:19

I know writing this means it may not happen again, but had our first 7-6am sleep last night. One dream feed but she didn't wake at all in the night for a feed which is a first. The only difference was she didn't sleep very much in the day and she was awake for over 4 hours before bed and really really tired. But I don't feel I can make her go that long all the time, feels a bit mean.

bunty hope you get some good advice from your HV. Maybe being poorly messed her sleep up? What are her naps like? Not that I've suddenly got all the answers mind you!

newbie6 · 16/10/2013 17:44

Hi all,

Trying to catch up with all the babies, we certainly all have our hands full don't we!

Looking for your thoughts, I gave my LO baby paracetamol today for the first time as he was crying all day, drooling etc and basically thoroughly not himself. He has been teething for weeks but still no sign! Called the HV and she told me to give him the paracetamol. Anyway, he went straight to sleep after it, is that normal? He seems happier but when I fed him his tea, he promptly puked it back up? He took a yoghurt okay but he wouldn't touch the savoury stuff, he wasn't keen on savoury stuff at lunch either but wasn't sick? Do you think the eating/teething is related?

His temp was 37.3 which I know is ok but his is normally around 36 so think he is out of sorts? Oh, everything is always a worry especially for us first timers!

Thanks in advance for any tips!

X

Lora1982 · 16/10/2013 22:11

Wow shootings?! Where abouts do you live? :O

Eating is often affected by teething general not feeling well-ness so I wouldnt worry too much

Dexters getting over his second cold in about a month except this one leaves a nasty cough behind. The poor soul, tixylix is a joke. He's just today started crawling a few steps forward hes not quite got the pulling himself up bit down yet. But he certainly gets put in the pen prison when I need to leave him now!

We tried tumble tots last week expensive sharnt be going again til he's more mobile cos it was a waste he just sat in the ball pit and cried if I put him on anything else and I thought im not forking out 7ish quid for him to sit in there :-D hes loving his tiny talk thing at the min anyway.

Cant believe she got up the stairs they are nearly one everybody :( they've been out longer than they were in!

On aabrighter note decorators coming to do my bathroom tomorrow, it probably wont be such a brighter note when I cant go loo!

AppleCrumples · 16/10/2013 22:46

newbie calpol is generally my solution to everythong! Does he seem well otherwise? I would just keep an eye on him. Might be teeth or a virus. Sorry to seem so vague even now i worry about Ivy and i should really know what i am doing by now :)

lora poor Dexter. Hope his cough clears up soon. Its mad how fast the last 9 months have gone. soon be xmas and birthdays.

Its normally quitr peaceful here so yesterday has shook peopke up a bit. Far too close to home. bunty hiding under the bed with chocolate is appealing.

Ended up sleeping from 9.30ish til Ivy got up at 3.30! Feel a bit more human today.

In other news parents evening tonight and apart from some handwriting issues all seem to be doing well..even a suggestion ds2 is g+t in maths!

newbie6 · 16/10/2013 23:21

Hi apples, he seems ok! just more clingy and has cried more than normal but took his temp before bed and it was back to his usual 36 so hoping it is just teething.

Thanks for replying.

X

BuntyCollocks · 17/10/2013 04:49

Been up since 2. Currently detest 'd'h, who can fuck off with his sanctimonious attitude. Self righteous prick.

I am at breaking point. Every time I put her down she wakes up.

Hormonalhell · 17/10/2013 06:41

Hmm Bunty, hope u managed some sleep. Men's lives never change much when a baby comes along does it?

I've attached Charlie's cot to side of my bed so I can just stick dummy in the 8 times a night he wakes up Hmm luckily he goes back off though

Lora1982 · 17/10/2013 08:21

Oh no Bunty :( I had one of those nights recently. Id not slept for 23 pissin hours .... but of course dp was fine, in bed. It only happens when dexters ill though I end up giving up taking him and rocking him in his pushchair. Its soul destroying so I REALLY sympathise

Angielka · 17/10/2013 10:40

Oh Bunty hope you got some sleep in the end. I know exactly what you're going through. For the last 4/5 nights Molly has been waking up around midnight and SCREAMING. I first sent DH in to try and avoid feeding but she didn't even stop when he picked her up. As soon as she is in my arms she calms right down and got all sleepy but when I put her back in her cot the screaming starts again. I feed, she falls asleep, I pick her up, she stays asleep. I put her in her cot, she screams. It's soul-destroying isn't it? Last night was much better though so I'm hoping it's a teething-related thing and it was pass. Fast! She's got two top fangs and the middle top teeth seem to be coming through and really upsetting her. Could it be teeth for you?

newbie there is always something to worry about, isn't there? Molly's temp goes up and down and I'm never sure if it's teething or a virus... a doc once told me if it's a high temp then it's unlikely to just be teething but it sounds like your little one just had a bit of a rise. I'd put it down to teeth. Moly is super-clingy at the moment too. It's the big age for separation anxiety too as if we didn't have enoughb to deal with.

apple shooting!! Shock My goodness...

lolli glad Darcie only went up and didn't try coming back... they love to scare their mums don't they?!

glorious hope Ellen's better soon.

Thanks for your support with the allergy thing. My initial reaction after fuming about the irresponsibility of the school was to blame myself and wonder how I could have been naive enough to think that informing them was enough to ensure they took the matter seriously, but after I spoke to enough friends and family and realised maybe it wasn't my fault, I took on my tiger mother persona... the meeting with the head was actually a bit of a let-down. After gearing myself up for a fight, he basically couldn't have been more apologetic and took full responsibility and we talked about the changes they would make to ensure it doesn't happen again. The main thing is DD1 will not be fed poison four days a week...

Bloody hell, what a ramble, sorry!

BuntyCollocks · 17/10/2013 14:10

Thanks everyone. I hope it's teeth, glorious - it's definitely something. She woke at 7 this morning, didn't go to sleep until 1 Hmm.

In that time, she's had two enormous shitty nappies. They smell like dung. Given we usually have to let her walk about nappyless after (ahem) whacking a suppository up her arse to make her poo, I think she's not 100%.

I am watching Geordie shore, think marnie is a massive dick, and once it's done I'm going for a nap before I need to go and pick up my parcels at next. Sigh.

Plans for the weekend, people?

BuntyCollocks · 17/10/2013 14:11

By 1 I mean 1pm btw!

lollipoppi · 17/10/2013 15:56

Angielka glad the school took responsibility! And hope she is on the mend now

Bunty what a shit night, these teeth have a lot to answer for!
Ps I love Geordie shore and agree marnie is a dick!

Been on a 6 hour walk with my friend today, 7.5 miles in total Shock I need new legs!

glorious · 18/10/2013 06:44

What a rubbish night bunty . And you angielka by the sound of it. Ellen's similar atm, she's asleep in my arms now as I can't put her down and she needs the sleep Sad She's still really coldy. I think she heard I was planning to tackle her sleep when we got back from holiday...

Glad the school took it seriously angielka . Are you confident in them now?

katolla · 18/10/2013 08:54

Hi all,
Sounds like everyone's doing pretty well apart from sleepless nights and crawling chaos. We have no crawling yet (!) so the living room is still relatively safe from being pulled apart.

Has anyone given up dream feed yet?

Meringue33 · 18/10/2013 08:56

Thanks to all those with poor sleepers. Ewan died at 4am the other night. I had to perform open heart surgery.

Just found LO eating chunks of apple out of a little pile of his own sick

Tugstonia · 18/10/2013 09:22

Morning all. I'm joining the crap sleep brigade. DD been a little minx the last few nights, waking up every hour or so and screaming whenever I put her down again. Just put her down for a nap and she's screaming right now while I try to distract myself with MN. It's like torture. I'm guessing/hoping it's teeth but no sign of any actually coming through... We're going to DP's parents' for the weekend so hope to god she sleeps while we're there, can't face the comments from MIL!

Blimey lolli 7.5 miles!! Hope you've recovered now!

You've reminded me about our Ewan meringue - going to dig him out and see if he can work his magic again. Blurgh about your DS eating sicky apple!

Angielka · 18/10/2013 10:42

Ewwww meringue! Yes thanks glorious I think they have understood the seriousness of it all and I'm off to meet the head dinner lady this afternoon

Ewan is good for naps and getting to sleep in the evening with no crying but he doesn't compare favourably to mummy cuddles in the middle of the night it seems. My RL friend has just confessed her DS hasn't slept through once and he is 13 months. I might cry. But then everything is bleak today because I drove into a parked car first thing. Stoopid

Meringue33 · 18/10/2013 11:30

Everything is bleak today because its freezing and I'm sleep deprived and on a massive heavy period :(

Meringue33 · 18/10/2013 11:31

LO doesn't like going in the jumperoo now he likes to crawl under it and use it as a play den :)

Angie I feel your pain my car is covered in bumps and scratches. Hope it won't be expensive?

Angielka · 18/10/2013 12:21

Luckily our car is from DH's work so we have an excess to pay, but might get off quite lightly . Maternity leave and seemingly endless bills to pay don't go well together as I'm sure you all agree.

Sleep deprivation is the worst meringue it makes everything seem awful although chocolate helps with most things, especially periods

glorious · 18/10/2013 13:17

Oh we are in the wars. I agree on the chocolate meringue .

Sorry about the car angielka , that's the last thing you need. I hope the meeting goes well.

My washing machine just broke and flooded the kitchen Sad I have a whole bucket of dirty nappies waiting to go on as well. And I was going to have a nap but probably should look at washing machines instead. Grr.

Lora1982 · 18/10/2013 14:48

We have a forward crawler :-D I asked "you coming with me?" And he crawled over bless him. I find ewans crap for midnight wake ups aswell always have to resort to the pushchair
