mrsbugsywugsy · 02/10/2013 19:38

bunny I think dd might be too fat to crawl, she has tiny arms and legs and a chubby tummy so I just don't think she can bear her own weight.

I'm getting a little worried that dd isn't babbling yet. She is making lots of vowel sounds but doesn't do consonants. Anyone else's lo the same?

AppleCrumples · 02/10/2013 20:47

bugsy at Ivy 9 month check i said i didn't think there was a lot of babble but i don't remember anyof my older dc babbling and all talk too much fine now. Hv said as long as they are making noise then all is probably ok.

Tbh i thought Ivy might be too fat to crawl properly and definitely thought her legs wouldn't be strong enough for her weight. Today i cought her on her hands and feet with her bum in the air!! And she can definitely weight bare now. The things they can do seem to change over night!

Pascha · 02/10/2013 21:19

Dan doesn't really babble yet either. Just aaaaa and mmmmm sometimes.

BuntyCollocks · 02/10/2013 22:59

Hello all, sorry for silence, I have been rather caught up in things. Thanks for everyone asking how things are, and sorry about the poorly babies. :(

Funeral for the baby is next Wednesday, and I've been asked to attend, very honoured they want me there. Will be a mess.

C is babbling and shrieking - she's so noisy! She also took a couple of unaided steps Shock she is going far too quickly for me, and it needs to slow down.

She's also a gannet and eats everything in sight. Still tall and skinny - in a lot of 9-12 month stuff, but not filling out leggings, and weighs about 18lb at 9 months.

birdies I also get about an hour window if I have both kids myself.

We're up at the inlaws ATM - I had outpatient surgery on my bum this week so I've come for help and r&r, but ds is really unsettled without his daddy so it's a bit of a mare tbh. Missing dh.

Glad you're feeling better, apples!

I still worry about how much boob c is taking. She is very definitely still interested, I get headbutted when required Wink, but it doesn't seem like many/long feeds. I guess she's getting what she needs, though, as she's healthy, happy and putting on weight.

lollipoppi · 03/10/2013 08:55

Bunty will be thinking of you on Wednesday, so so sorry Hmm
ShockShock On the steps!!!

Bunny hope your LO is ok?

Getting a bit worried about DD, she has had a stinking cold since Monday, took her to docs on Tuesday and thought she was breathing too fast and sounded wheezy, when we got there she was fine, chest, ears ect all clear, last night she woke no less than 10 times crying, but settled back to sleep instantly, has a temperature
Woke today at 7.30 and was back asleep by 8 after bottle.
Something's just not quite right but feel a bit neurotic taking her back to the docs after them saying she is ok on Tuesday!
DS1 was very poorly at this age (resuss and HDU) and I can't figure out if I'm panicking over that or should just chill and letter sleep it off

lollipoppi · 03/10/2013 10:39

Still asleep, temp is 39.4 Hmm calling the doctor

AppleCrumples · 03/10/2013 11:37

lolli hope your dd is ok Flowers

I've always been told drs would rather have to see a healthy dc whose mum is worrying than potentially not see one with a problem. Hope all is ok x

bunty yours poor friends. Will be thinking of you all on wednesday.

Wow onthe walking Shock Ivy can only get on her knees, her legs need to be stronger to take all her weight!!

Pascha · 03/10/2013 13:13

Poor lolligirl Sad. I remember from working in primary care years ago that they would always rather see a well child than miss a sick one. Hope she gets seen soon. Daniel is ok but has no voice. The shrieking is like whispers, bless him.

Bunty will think of you all next Wednesday.

Just given Dan a sandwich on the floor and he's basically said bugger off and scrambled away to play with DS1's train set Hmm. Been out shopping all morning in between nursery runs. Got lots and lots in TKMaxx. New sleeping bags, stocking filler toys, a bag for DH, new cat beds. Persuaded myself its all for christmas but its not really, its because I was bored Blush

Better get all the baby stuff on facebook selling and ebay to pay for it I suppose...

Tugstonia · 03/10/2013 13:56

Lolli hope your dd is ok, defo worth a trip to the doctors.

Bunty All the best for next Wednesday, I'm sure it'll mean a lot to your friends that you're there. Flowers

Apples glad to hear Ivy sorted your boob out Grin

DD is also a little chubster, must be at least 21lbs now. Maybe that's why she isn't moving much?!

I'm really bored today and it's pissing with rain.

mrsbugsywugsy · 03/10/2013 14:07

Rain here too and the forecast was for sun so I went out with no umbrella and got soaked . took dd to a baby group with singing etc, she loved it.

Good to hear she's not the only one not babbling, although this morning she discovered how to say 'b', so today has been 'b-b-b-b-b'non stop.

bunty Flowers

lollipoppi · 03/10/2013 15:36

Chest infection Hmm still has a temp of over 38, she has basically slept all day with a little whimper now and again

CreepyCrawly · 03/10/2013 17:09

Hope she's better soon lolli

Will be thinking of you all bunty. SIL lost a baby, the funeral was heartbreaking. She has two healthy little ones now x

cupcakes the night off was lovely, but horrible at the same time. I had one eye on my phone throughout the game and didn't sleep at all without her next to me. I'm not in a hurry to do it again!

Birdies · 03/10/2013 20:15

How awful bunty, hope you all get through it ok.

lolli hope she feels better soon.

bugsy I was about to say she will surprise you and start babbling any time!

pascha good work on the shop. I do just the same but once I've got it home I'm bored again!

Who is it with the chubby babies? I think X is getting a bit too chubby now and I do kind of feed her as much as she'll have. Wonder if I should cut back a bit.

I've done a big change of routine but the 5am waking for an hour before going back to sleep is really tough. Anyone any idea what I can do about that?

And out of interest, does anyone else's baby not look much like them?! DD1 is a mini me and now DD2 is a mini DH! Good job I gave birth to her or I would wonder if she was mine Wink

Meringue33 · 04/10/2013 08:58

Sorry about your bum Bunty. Mine still not recovered from pg Blush.

LO passport came just in time so we are off to Spain for a week. A cheery sleep deprived bunch! It really has been hell lately.

He is 21lb! From the 9th to the 91st centile.

Crawling like mad, bouncing and pulling up on everything. He seems to think the house is a big soft play so not safe to leave him alone for a second. But screams hysterically if I try to put him in playpen or cot.

Lora1982 · 05/10/2013 12:04

Ive just recieved our motorola blink1 im in awe its great! I was worried reading reviews this morning, but its like everything people review, try it yourself. Its quite addictive.

glorious · 06/10/2013 05:46

Hope DD is improving lolli.

birdies E looked like DH for months but she's just starting to look more like me. I think that's in her expressions as much as anything though. And the fact she's getting more hair Grin

tugs we were in Tokyo, Matsumoto in the alps and Kyoto. It was brilliant, and we were reflecting that it was less stressful than France!

We got back yesterday afternoon and on the downside now have a full of cold jet lagged baby. Oh well!

lollipoppi · 06/10/2013 08:36

What a weekend! Turns out dd didn't have a chest infection, her temp kept rising and rising she was really sleepy and floppy, went to a&e after posting in health and she has a urine infection, they had to take bloods Confused was not a nice experience!
Anyhoo she is in the mend now temp has come down and we got discharged yesterday, she seems much brighter today

Glorious bet you had an amazing time! Hope you all recover from jet lag soon

Hope everyone's ok x

Lostbobbles · 06/10/2013 09:35

Gosh Lolli, so sorry to hear about your DD but glad she is on the mend, poor beebie Hmmx

Tugs, Japan trip sounds amazing, wish your DD well too.

My DD2 is still full of cold and has a wheeze again. Doc has given her an inhaler which seems to help but she is fine in herself.

Busy weekend of DD1 parties again, managed to convince DH to do the one today, then will prob go out for lunch later.

BuntyCollocks · 06/10/2013 19:32

Poor dd,lolli. Hope she is on the mend soon.

Angielka · 07/10/2013 08:38

Hope DD gets better soon lolli and that the jet lag improves glorious. Enjoy Spain meringue Envy and bunty we will all be thinking of you on Wednesday. It will mean a lot to your friend to have you there I'm sure.

We seem to have been adopted by a kitten! It moved into our garden shed - can't be much more than 3-4 months old. I left it a few days before giving in and feeding it, but then a guy knocked on the door after seeing it play in the front and asked if he could take it. I said yes, felt a bit sad but knew it was best, me being allergic to cats and all Confused but then a couple of days later, DH told me to look out the window. It was sitting on the lawn looking up at the house as if to say 'you'll have to try harder than that!' and moved back into the shed. I've been googling 'outdoor cats' and trying to figure out when we should take it for vaccinations and neutering and all... seems we have gained a member of the family. Bet it's in the house before Christmas

Lostbobbles · 07/10/2013 10:57

Awww Angie how cute, wish we could get a pet, but DH is an animal phobe. we did get a fish tank for DD1 birthday, but took it back the next day after discovering what a faff it would be

Lolli, how is DD today?

DD2 taken a turn for the worse here, temp is up again and throat seems to be sore, so back off the the Dr's in a while.

Meringue, hope you have a fab time in Spain

Facing a hard pressed decision today ..... what colour footmuff to buy for my bee, petrol blue or pink..... puddle, shallow, me!! Wink

Pascha · 07/10/2013 14:40

Envy about the cat Angie Mind you, if we got another one, my Lion would move out I think. He's only just ok with 2 children and the Snowshoe who he tolerates. Just.

DS1 is also ill again, he recovered from his throat thing by last thursday and then came down with something else viral yesterday. No nursery today, just moping on the sofa dosed up on calpol. Lost and Lolli I hope your children are better soon.

I bought a lovely thick footmuff with sheepskin liner for my pushchair and fitted it on - gorgeous. Until I tried to fold the pushchair and its too big so now I don't know whether to send it back or put up with a half folded buggy in the boot of the car. I'm such a ding I didn't consider it.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 07/10/2013 16:47

Hi everybody - I've been reading all your updates, just not had much chance to post.

Sorry to hear of the poorly babies - hope they all get better soon.

Angie I think they just need annual vaccinations, doesn't matter what time of year so long as you keep up with the boosters. No cats in the Cupcakes household, just 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 gerbils, 15 cockatiels, 2 budgies, 1 bourkes parakeet, and Mothie, the Biggest Spider in the Whole World, who lives under our bed and torments me.

DS has outgrown all of his socks, but nowhere seems to sell 12-18 month socks.

Pascha · 07/10/2013 17:17

I think they tend to go in sizes after 12 months Cupcakes. Try size 3-5.5 socks. As a guide when DS1 was first measured for shoes at 12 months he was a 4.5.

Awh cute angielka !

Sorry about all the poor sickly babies. We've got a cold too but not too badly.

Just been to the GP because I'm worried about E's apparent food allergies. We thought it was just egg but she reacted to something on holiday, possibly egg through my milk, and then today she came out in awful hives after hummus, breadsticks and a plum. She's had those before Confused Anyway the GP was great and has referred us to a paediatric allergist for tests and prescribed some antihistamine in the meantime. I just hope she doesn't have an anaphylactic reaction to something while we wait. The GP thought that it is likely to be that kind of allergy Sad
