Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AppleCrumples · 30/09/2013 22:01

Pascha poor ds1. Dd1 had 'something' at the weekend. Is hard to see them unwell.

Have dd1 off tomorrow as her teacher is on strike but both dss have to go in. Its ds1 birthday and he is not happy he won't get the day off!!

Lostbobbles · 30/09/2013 22:16

Pascha, wish your DS1 well, poor thing.

Newbie, sleep here has got crappy again. I'm blaming teeth but who knows! have been blaming teeth since she was four months and will prob still be a toothless insomniac at 6! Confused.

Development wise we finally have some consonants bbbbb obviously my all day long mamamama has paid off!!!Confused she's still pulling up on everything and starting to cruise a bit more, has had a few let go moments and is doing well with the walker but DD1 was the same and didn't walk until 13 months so I expect she will prob be similar.

Food wise she's not a massive eater but seems to be putting on weight fine so not worried.

Lora1982 · 01/10/2013 08:17

Bunty thats awful, ther really are no words that can help here though is there? :(

So I was a seller at an nct sale on saturday... its much more stressful than just going there to manic buy. Think ive sold about £100 though dont find out for two weeks but it will all help towards the two months no pay situ. My god it aas stress though organising bundling timing round ddexterto drop stuff off watching ppl pick your stuff up and put it down

Food front hes still a gannet but kicks off when hes put in his chairs I havent figured out why yet, could be cos he's strapped in maybe.

No forward crawls yet, lots of turning and going backwards though. The other day I went to get his dinner and came back to an empty room... he'd shuffled under the highchair now he gets put in the play pen

On the clothes issue ive started ignoring labels and if it fits he wears it

CreepyCrawly · 01/10/2013 09:48

Happy birthday DS1 apple

And a speedy recovery for your DS1 pascha

Loving the bouncy babies awaiting their food! Nancy pants Hmm

Yay on the forward crawling too. We've been going forwards a couple of paces for about a week. She's not pulling up yet but she is eyeing things up.

Had our first night away on Sunday. Dropped Nancy at my mums Sunday morning, went to London and then picked her up yesterday afternoon. My mum said she didn't even cry, was absolutely no trouble at all. I was a bit worried about the bottle situation but she took to it fine. So all that worry for nothing!

They wore her out though I think, 7-6:45 sleeps!

Nancy's in 6-9 clothes but the trousers are all baggy on her waist. She's very tall and slim, the lucky thing!

lollipoppi · 01/10/2013 09:50

Hi all, Bunty how you doing?

DD has got a horrible cold .... Again. She seems to have a lot of colds Confused
Although saying that she did a PB last night 7.30-8am!! I actually shot out of bed this morning to check she was ok!

Lots of babbling going on, dadada babababa nananana, but no mamamama!

Apples 21lb!! Shock

AppleCrumples · 01/10/2013 10:06

This time 10 years ago i was staring at my new baby in shock :) I have no idea where the last 10 years went. Hug your babies close, it goes so fast

lolli she is following 91st centile but started out on the 9th! Am glad she is moving more as i'm quite small myself and she is heavy!

we have lots of bbbbbbs and mamas here.

creepy my older dc are like that now, all have skinny waists and long legs. Trousers are hard! Nothing is ever baggy on Ivy :)

LetThereBeCupcakes · 01/10/2013 19:46

So sorry Bunty. A friend of mine lost her first baby at 32 weeks. She has since gone on to have two more, now aged 4 and 2 and only recently has she been able to start talking about the little girl that she lost. Awful thing to have to go through.

Creepy how lovely to have a night off! Were you able to enjoy it with all the worry though?

DS has got crawling sorted, as well as pulling himself up on things. Usually the dogs, who wait until he's nearly got his balance and then move. He keeps trying to stand himself up without leaning on something - gets up onto his feet with his hands on the floor and then gets stuck so has to sit back down again.

We've started going to Gymbabes - he absolutely loves it. Grins the whole way through. Would thoroughly recommend it to anybody with active babies!

We do not discuss sleep any more, in the vague hope that ignoring the issue will make it go away.

Angielka · 01/10/2013 20:20

Apple we should introduce Ivy and Molly - Molly is a 22lb chubster too Grin and her main purpose in life at the moment is to crawl to something that helps her pull herself up... I got some of DD1's 12-18 month old clothes out today Shock

lolli DD1 had hair that grew straight up in the air like your little one... I thought it was never going to stop but eventually it weighed itself down and then i kind of missed it! We also haven't got to mama yet, but NANABABANANABABATATA is the soundtrack to my life at the moment.

How are you Bunty?

AppleCrumples · 01/10/2013 21:23

Hee hee angiel Ivy had her firsy visit to pizza hut today and happily chomped on a slice of pizza i stole from dp :) we eventuallt had to remove the slice of ham that was too chewy!! She was supposed to be sharing my chicken!

cupcakes we were supposed to start gymbabes but my anxiety got really bad and we never made it :(
I feel bad as she would love it but aslong as we stikl get out to other things i'm trying not to feel too bad.

Hope everyone ok.

glorious · 02/10/2013 00:11

cupcakes the pulling up on the dog sounds hilarious! Grin Bizarrely the 8 hour time difference seems to have reset Ellen a bit and we've had the odd 5 hour stretch followed by 4 then 2 which is the best she's ever done. She won't go in the travel cot though Hmm

I think her first word might be kawaii (cute) as virtually every single woman who sees her says it. We're a bit worried she's starting to think it's her name!

glorious · 02/10/2013 00:12

And apples the pizza sounds fun. Sorry about your anxiety. I'm sure Ivy gets lots of fun as it is Smile

Lostbobbles · 02/10/2013 06:17

Glorious- I'm sending a package to Japan, please reset and send back Wink

glorious · 02/10/2013 09:19

lost that's fine, I'll pick it up when we get back to Tokyo Wink However, the new settings may not work when the package returns to the UK. I suspect the test model will malfunction again on its return Hmm

Pascha · 02/10/2013 11:56

DS1 is better but has a lingering cough. Dan is right in the thick of a viral throat thing. He has no voice and it hurts him to swallow. Both boys are fed up, I'm fed up. We're on day 3 of cancelled activities and to top it all my period has come back. Angry

OP posts:
newbie6 · 02/10/2013 13:09

Hi all,

Sorry to hear about poorly babies, hope those nasty bugs and virus things pass quickly.

I'm not doing very well at, still have LO up every few hours in the night, am at a loss as to why :( not helped that my hubbie has had a bad back for past 2 months so I'm doing all the night settles/feeds plus my doc just called to tell me I'm anaemic which prob explains the extreme tiredness and generally feeling crap! Work is mental and just want to lock myself away in a padded cell :(

Praying my sleeping baby returns soon ;)

X

Hormonalhell · 02/10/2013 13:11

Yes Charlie has that throat/cough virus as does DS1. I've been sleeping when he does past few days Hmm

AppleCrumples · 02/10/2013 13:26

Help me! My right boob is huge and painful but i cannot get anything out with pump :( Ivy eating as normal but she doesn't need boib very often. She has been on twice but am still so full. I think something is blocked. Need ideas to fix.

Tugstonia · 02/10/2013 13:53

Oh apples, that sounds horrid. What works for me when I get a blocked duct is lots of wet heat, so hot baths, showers or just soaking a muslin or flannel in hot-as-you-can-handle water and put on your boob and keep doing it and hand expressing until the block clears. Massaging also helps. Also try to get Ivy to feed if you can. Hope it clears soon.

We're full of cold, sore throat and cough here too. Worst night in a long time with dd up several times and eventually coming into our bed and DP going on the floor :( Feel your pain pascha we've cancelled all plans all week and done sod all other than go to the supermarket and am v bored.

Glorious whereabouts in the Japan are you? Hope you're having an amazing time and fantastic that Ellen is sleeping better.

No crawling, rolling or pulling up here... or teeth. DD seems happy to sit and play with whatever's within reach.

Hope those with poorly babies get better soon Flowers Brew Wine Cake

Lora1982 · 02/10/2013 15:22

Oh no apples! Exactly what tugs said. I used to lye on the sofa with a bowl of near boiling water and a tea towel to wrap/massage/express onto. Also went bed with hot water bottles and such on it. I had these green gel things from boots that can be heated or cold to put in my bra too.

Moved the cot down a level because my friends 8 month old managed to get out and ended up in a&e yesterday! We had only just discussed moving it then I read that and was like Shock we ARE changing it now.

AppleCrumples · 02/10/2013 15:52

Thanks tugs and lora. 'd'p been useless and just left me all day so aa soon as he gets back hes in charge while i sort hot flannels and try to express (again). After beavers run plan to have some hot water next to.me while i lie on the sofa ala lora !
The bloody thing is huge and lumpy and painful. And the other one hurts too (but at least its soft).

lora we lowered ivys cot as soon as she could sit herself up. Too scarey.

Hope all the sick babies are better soon

Angielka · 02/10/2013 15:52

Apple my last blocked duct responded well to being combed (!). Just get a normal comb and brush toards the nipple, fairly firmly but not hard. Hope it goes away.

Bunny222 · 02/10/2013 16:01

Hi all. Haven't posted for yonks but have tried to follow how ur all doing when I can. It's a year since we lost my dad now, and I remember how supportive you all were when it happened out of the blue, so thanks again for that support.

We've had a tough weekend with LO, a cold turned into a nasty wheeze and struggling to breathe on Sunday and we ended up in hospital with him. They've said it's bronchilitis, this is the second time in just over two months :-( so frightening watching him struggle to breathe :-( am wondering if its asthma as I developed it this kind of age. He is doing better now, mainly coughing and snotty. Hope all the other babies are doing ok.

Bunty - how horrific for your friend. Thinking of you.

AppleCrumples · 02/10/2013 16:14

angiel eeek! Shock

bunny your poor lo :( Have you mentiond asthma to dr? Dd1kept getting colds and everytime she has a night cough for ages which turned out to be a sign of asthma. Its really mild though

AppleCrumples · 02/10/2013 16:44

Ivy has rescued me! She just had a mega feed and actually emptied me. Can't tell yoy how much better i feel :)

Bunny222 · 02/10/2013 18:03

C
Apples - the docs say they wont diagnose asthma yet, hes too young.

Is any one else trying to negotiate part time hours with their work? Mine are dragging their feet! :-/

Benjamin is now pulling himself up, no crawling tho. DH thinks he is too heavy to crawl?! Poor little chunk - he is 21lb now.
