Here we go again

...sleeping badly too, has a stinking cold and loads of teeth coming in at once. He's not supposed to be napping too much during the day but has just sacked out on my lap after a feed. I am seriously lacking the energy to wake him, sort dinner, bath and bed. DP won't be home til 8 as I booked him in for a nice massage after work. Doh! Why him and not me?!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 25/09/2013 17:28

Bunty I started the pre-Christmas clear out this week too! Started in our bedroom. Was doing really well until my under-the-bed clearing out disturbed Mothie (short for Behemoth - the Biggest Spider In The Whole World - who lives under out bed) and I got scared and stopped. I moved into the junk spare room today and got rid of a fair bit - mostly charity shop but a few bits will go on Ebay. I'm thinking of joining the "unfuck your habitat" lot. Looks a bit less scary than the Flylady lot. Or maybe I'll just stay here and hide.

We finally got to sleep at 4.30 this morning when I gave in and brought DS into bed with me.

Pascha how old are the sticky children? Do they sleep? I may be interested. Very Envy of the whole day shopping.

I need to do boring things like switch energy supplier. Would much rather sit here and MN though.

Pascha · 25/09/2013 17:47

8 months and 3. They do, in fact, sleep. They are generally very sticky though.

Lostbobbles they are polo ponies.

For everyone still breastfeeding - has anyone dropped breastfeeds yet? If so which ones? I'm still giving him:

A breastfeed at 8am
Porridge at 9.30,
Lunch at 1ish,
Another breastfeed at 3.30,
Light dinner at 6,
Another breastfeed at 6.45
1030pm another breastfeed

That seems like a lot..?

AppleCrumples · 25/09/2013 19:37

octane that is less than Ivy has milk-wise. Although i am now trying ti give more solid food and start to cut down bf (especially night feeds)

glorious glad you're having a good time it sounds amazing.

pascha how do you melt a kettle Confused

cupcakes a massive spider has taken up residence in our kitchen...eeek

Meringue33 · 25/09/2013 19:41

Octane I think I am doing it completely wrong! Are they supposed to be completely weaned from milk sometime soon?

He gets bf when he wakes, which can be anytime between 5-7am. Then at around 10.30/11am, 2pm, 4pm. He gets a bedtime bottle at 7pm. Then if he is up in the night he often gets another bottle from DP and one or more bf from me.

He eats loads of solids too though!

octanegirl · 25/09/2013 20:07

Meringue no definitely not, I'll keep BFing till he's at least a year, but I wasn't sure whether he was supposed to be having less milk now but I guess not. He eats a LOT of actual food - especially at lunch. I'll start giving him more dinner at 6 too.
He does have both boobs each time. I'll keep going with 4 per day then!

Lora1982 · 25/09/2013 21:00

Dexters on the boob three times a day so your times sound similar. Hes just getting rid of his stinking cold. Sounds like they all have one :(

BuntyCollocks · 25/09/2013 21:12

Envy pascha I'd love a child free day. Haha, having enough bother decluttering mine ;)

BuntyCollocks · 25/09/2013 21:16

Cameron's day is usually like this:

6:30 - breastfeed
8:30 - nap
9:30 - porridge
11 - breastfeed to sleep
1 - lunch
3 - nap
4 - breastfeed
5:30 - dinner
7 - bath
7:30 - breastfeed, cuddle to sleep

Tbh I'm worrying she's not feeding enough. She never seems to have a 'good' feed, but she's satisfied and gaining weight. I think it's more for me, tbh. I'm going to be gutted if she self weans anytime soon.

Tugstonia · 25/09/2013 21:18

We're full of cold here too... Poor little mite waking up every couple of hours and has ended up in our bed from 12 the last few nights. There have been a few horrendous poonamis today so think she may have a tummy bug too. We had a weekend away with lots of friends and their kids so probably swapped germs!

BF wise I'm feeding her 4/5 times a day but she has very little during the day, just a couple of minutes here and there.

Glorious enjoy Japan! It sounds fantastic. I went to Tokyo for a flying work visit a few years back and loved it.

Pascha · 26/09/2013 07:57

I stuck the electric kettle on the gas hob by accident. Only realised when I saw the flames licking up the side...

Dans feeding goes something like:

6.45am long bfeed
7.45am breakfast
11am bfeed
12.30 lunch
then either 2pm and 5pm bfeed if not napping
or 3pm bfeed
5pm dinner
7pm long bfeed

It really depends a lot on whether he has his long nap in the morning (if DS1 at nursery) or the afternoon. He switches depending on what we're doing.

Tugstonia · 26/09/2013 08:09

OMG. I am in shock. DD just slept through the night. From 7.30pm to 6.45am. With no wake-ups. Shock Smile Woo hoo!!

CreepyCrawly · 26/09/2013 08:09

We're ill here too! DH has passed on his 'flu'. Nancy was crying for two hours solid last night, which is really unlike her because she never cries. Making a doctors appointment this morning because she's rubbing her ear an awful lot.

Ah glorious, sounds amazing! I'd love to go one day. Honeymoon destination sounds fab meringue.

Some days Nancy drops her late afternoon feeds but she's usually having about 5 bfs a day. Leaving her overnight for the first time on Sunday while we go to watch American football at Wembley. Dreading it!

If any of you watch Jeremy Kyle by the way, my old next door neighbour is on it this morning. I doubt they'll mention the whole selling drugs to school kids/abusing their children/being on the sec offenders register though.. Hmm

CreepyCrawly · 26/09/2013 08:09

Yay tugs!

BuntyCollocks · 26/09/2013 08:47

Yay babytugs!

Hope it's not an ear infection, creepy :(

Another awful night. She is so choked, she can barely breathe through her nose, wee mite.

Angielka · 26/09/2013 10:33

Yay tugs massive congrats (and please tell us your secret Wink) Actually Molly's been doing just one wake-up a night for the last two nights, but she woke up with massive snotty nose so anything could happen now. Lots of Brew and Biscuit for all the others dealing with snotty bubbas. Hope Nancy doesn't get an ear infection creepy they are rubbish.

Interesting to read about night weaning - I've been thinking I should do that, although I live in hope and remember how DD1 basically weaned herself... I'm giving her until 9 months and then I'm going to stop giving in...

DD1's 3rd birthday on Sunday. Starting to get excitd for her. It's really the first birthday we've been able to build up to with her and get her excited about her party although where we're going to put 9 kids and all their parents I have no idea

Oh pascha hope you have a backup kettle Shock

Pascha · 26/09/2013 11:13

Yes, Angie, we have the actual hob kettle which is the normal one I use. No worries there.

Just bought Dan a christmas pudding outfit Grin

OP posts:
Angielka · 26/09/2013 11:33

I want one! Where did you get it?

Pascha · 26/09/2013 11:54

ebay there's loads of different ones if you search christmas baby outfits

OP posts:
mrsbugsywugsy · 26/09/2013 12:26

doh, just typed a long message then lost it!

My house is filthy and I haven't even thought about Christmas Sad. Guess I'd better get on the bargains / housekeeping threads. I was briefly on the flylady thread when dd was smaller and slept a lot in the day but I gave it up when she woke up and started demanding my attention a lot more.

Dd is still miserable with her cold but somehow miraculously slept from 8 till 5.30 last night in her cot Shock. She was well dosed up on calpol so maybe that was why I'll have to give her a dose every night

octane dd hasn't dropped any bfeeds but she takes less at each feed, and if there is something more interesting going on it's hard to get her to feed at all. She's eating lots of solids but barely drinks any water so I think she treats breastmilk as a drink iyswim and has little and often. I'm fine with this until she goes to nursery in January.

mrsbugsywugsy · 26/09/2013 13:23

Aargh I am having such an unproductive day today. Decided to have a day at home to do a bit of housework but so far the house is worse than when I started. Haven't even washed up from breakfast yet, I have filled the sink with water twice but both times had to deal with something DD-related then the water has gone cold.

Tell me I'm not the only one who has days like this?

mrsbugsywugsy · 26/09/2013 13:24

Oh and I'm typing this while bfing so not wasting valuable washing up time Grin

Tugstonia · 26/09/2013 13:34

Thanks all! I do feel remarkably refreshed today, can't remember the last time I had 8 hours uninterrupted sleep! I wish I knew the secret apples! Yesterday DD had a late afternoon nap (4-4.45pm) and then a good kick/play after tea, and didn't go to bed til 7.30, whereas she'd been skipping the nap and going to bed knackered at 6.30 before. She's full of cold so v surprised she didn't wake up snotty/coughing. And I didn't even give her calpol! V strange. She also had a 90 min nap this morning so perhaps there's a developmental leap going on. I hope she gives a repeat performance tonight!

What's the flylady thread? My flat is a tip.
