Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Meringue33 · 19/09/2013 07:03

Great news Bunty :)

We have an all time personal best last night of 8pm-5.30am, I am thrilled to bits!!!!!!!!!

Pascha · 19/09/2013 07:33

Bunty I can't believe Cam is trying to walk already! Is that with a sit-in Dalek type thing or a vtech my first steps type thing? I wonder if her sleeping better is because she's cracked a huge skill? And Meringuebaby sleeping too. Maybe we're all about to turn a corner with the nights?

I've got most of christmas/birthdays sorted mainly through the Bargains threads There is so much on there.

I had to use the Boots 3 for 2 at the weekend when Dan managed to wee all through his clothes while we were out and had no spares with us numpties Never had to buy emergency clothes before. First time for everything I suppose.

Glad you're tooth's fixed Lora

BuntyCollocks · 19/09/2013 08:27

That's brill meringue!

It's a vtech first step, pascha. She is currently enjoy walking to Alex's toys, making him sqwack in righteous indignation, and then cruising back to me to safety. Crafty wee shite!

Why is it they always choose to pee through or shit up their backs when you forget the spares?

Pascha · 19/09/2013 09:34

Sqwack is an excellent word. Sebastien makes a similar sound, followed by DANNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! and whatever car or digger it is that he's grabbed (its usually a wheeled object) being flung across the room far far away from Daniel who spins right around and scrambles off to get it again Grin. I'm in such trouble when he learns to walk and talk.

See, I've got a vtech first steps for christmas for Dan but I'm debating whether to give it to him sooner and get something else, or not get anything else but just some balloons instead.

OP posts:
BuntyCollocks · 19/09/2013 12:38

I think at this age he won't even notice if he gets his present early. You can always shove a bow on it on Christmas morning if you want to give him it earlier!

We're going to do the balloon in a box for her birthday. She loves helium balloons, but as we're travelling on Christmas Day, no point for then.

AppleCrumples · 19/09/2013 13:42

pascha and bunty the advantage of having much olde dcs is that they can easiky remove Ivy from places they don't want her to be. Ds1 is constantky picking her up and carrying her around.

Wow on the use of the walker bunty. Ivy is trying to pull up byt can onky get onto her knees so far. She still only crawls backwards.

She finally settled properly ladt night after a couple of difficult nights. I can see tge new tooth now so hope that was the probkem amd we can all sleep again!

lora hope your tooth is all better now.

lollipoppi · 19/09/2013 15:18

Meringue yay on the sleeping!! Lets hope for the same tonight!

DD is also cruising round the furniture and taking steps on the walker! Shock

Apples DS tries to pick DD up to by her head

Pascha get the walker out and just stick a bow back on it for Xmas!

Lostbobbles · 19/09/2013 15:54

Yay on sleeping meringue / bunty and your tooth Lora Grin

Pacha, open the walker, Lois has been using hers for few weeks now, can only use it on the rug though as goes too fast on wooden floor. #facebuttfloor she's also trying to master pulling up on it without it falling on top of her.

I joined gymboree today, it's stupidly expensive but great for crawlers/walkers, damn annoying songs haven't changed in four years though Confused

Wish DS well cupcakes

Tugstonia · 19/09/2013 18:56

Wow all these nearly-walking babies! DD is barely rolling. Mind you I didn't walk til I was 20 months and never crawled so she's probably lazy like her ma Grin

Lora Yay that you're pain free!

Meringue hope you get a repeat performance tonight!

Cupcakes hope your DS is ok, and sorry you're having such a plop time with your DH away.

Pascha the Xmas bargain thread is awesome! Thanks for the link

LetThereBeCupcakes · 19/09/2013 19:22

Fab news on all the good sleepers - hopefully we'll follow sometime soon.

DS is feeling very sorry for himself, poor thing. This afternoon he just sat on my lap and chewed his teether. He's never sat still for more than 20 seconds before, so I know he's poorly. You can feel the mucus on his chest when he breathes. Currently sleeping soundly dosed up with calpol.

DH is on the way home. Huzzah! We're supposed to be going caravanning this weekend. Wondering if it's a good idea with a poorly baby?

We picked up a VTech walker at a bootsale for £1.50. Bargain! DS tries to walk on it but it goes faster than his feet do, so it gradually gets further and further away from him until he winds up on his hands and knees again. He also has a sit in walker which he LOVES but it makes him poo. Hmm

I'm supposed to be packing. Can't really be bothered though.

Lora1982 · 19/09/2013 20:18

Feels weird having nothing to moan about :-D

CreepyCrawly · 19/09/2013 20:51

Haha lora.

Wowie on the cruising and walking! Our babies aren't staying babies for long enough. Nancy got into sitting position from crawling position today. It took a lot of bouncing, and then she applauded herself.

Does anyone else's little one not really laugh? It's a real work out to get her laughing, and when she does laugh it sounds false. She's a very happy baby in general, but she's never had uncontrollable giggles like so many babies do.

Horrendous night last night, didn't go to sleep until 10pm and then was up every 90 minutes or so. She's been fast asleep since half 7 tonight, and that's all I'm saying for now.

Poor DS cupcakes, I hope he's better soon.

Pascha · 19/09/2013 21:20

I get uncontrollable laughter but never had a wave or a clap yet and we're still on vague baby sounds rather than any kind of proper babble. Ds1 is a late talker so I'm just assuming the same for Daniel really.

Going to hold off on the walker for now. When it looks like he might be considering pulling up etc then I will get it out. I anticipate that will be mid-late October sometime.

OP posts:
lollipoppi · 19/09/2013 21:39

Ah cupcakes poor DS hope he is ok!
DD was at the doctors today too she's got a terrible cold and cough, it's making her sick Hmm

Creepy, no fits of giggles here either! She really makes us work hard for even a laugh! DS was the complete opposite you only had to look at him and he would be rolling on the floor!
Saying that, DS makes her laugh ALL the time, maybe I'm just not that funny Smile

Birdies · 19/09/2013 22:10

Hope DD is ok lolli

And hope DS feels better soon cupcakes.

X loves her sit in walker too! I sometimes put her in another room and then put her favourite tv programme on in the lounge. Then I wait to hear the trundle of wheels and for her little face to appear at the doorway to watch the tv! But I haven't got the vtech walker out yet either as Im worried she would just push it and fall over. So I will prob do the same as you pascha and wait til she's pulling herself up.

One thing that's not going so well is she travels up her cot several times during the night and then wakes up when her head touches the bars at the end as she can't get back again :(

I have stuffed face with KFC tonight. Feel sick.

Hormonalhell · 19/09/2013 23:04

Charlie another one that doesn't really laugh much - I blame it on the Capricorn star sign these babies are!! Capricorns are serious and appear worldly wise but they are very hard working in later life Grin

Hormonalhell · 19/09/2013 23:07

GrinCupcakes Charlie also likes to poo when in his walker!!!

He won't crawl just slides on his tummy on the wooden floors but can walk with me just holding his hands now

glorious · 20/09/2013 07:24

We have waving and lots of 'talking' but no pulling up and only crawling backwards. She's much more interested in communicating than moving I think.

She also still can't sleep Sad

Angielka · 20/09/2013 07:35

Welcome back bunty and congrats on your walking baby!! Molly is also pulling herself up on everything. Not quite cruising yet lolli but her crawling has progressed... not to classic crawling, but she goes on one knee with her left leg stretched out knee, foot, knee, foot, strange child I've got one of those vtech walkers pascha I'll dig it out of the garage although I remember the wooden floor faceplants lost from when DD1 had it. That was a couple of months later in her case though, and I thought she was an early walker at 11 months!

lora glad the tooth is better - hope it stays that way. Must be such a relief.

We've had a difficult few nights - DD1 started at hursery and Oh Dear God the germs! Little kids seem to be able to share a lot of snot. Molly's been red-eyed and feverish. Then the snot and the waking not being able to breathe, then the coughing... last night was better. She only woke at midnight and 4am. Hoping we get back to a run of better nights since I had a tummy bug this week that knocked me right out and I could do with the extra zs.

Sorry, essay and very me me me. New day... good luck everyone. Wink

Meringue33 · 20/09/2013 11:42

So glad your tooth is better Lora

Cuddles for all the poorly babies :(

LO was up all last night again but Nevermind, now I know he is capable of sleeping through it has made all the difference to my mental attitude!

I saw a good walker at my friends, it is a wooden trolley full of building blocks. Didn't get the chance to ask her the brand, must find out as it looked like a nice Christmas gift.

Angielka · 20/09/2013 12:02

They have one in IKEA meringue but there are nicer ones out there too. My DM is getting Molly one for xmas but I think she could do wiht it now!

Lora1982 · 20/09/2013 14:11

We went to tiny talk today and his face was a picture, he loved it. The woman wasnt as hippyish as I was dreading either so I think we'll go again. Bit of a pain having to fork the money out in one go though rather than weekly.

We are nowhere near walker stage yet. He'll stand holding on to me or the chair but only if I stand him.

BuntyCollocks · 21/09/2013 06:59

Thank you, angie!

Ah, the hotbed of germs that is nursery - ds had a new ailment every week when he started! small children like to share saliva by licking EVERYTHING

We can't catch a break atm. Night before last. Dh ended up at ooh dr with ds as he woke up gasping and wheezing, with a horrendous cough. He has croup, came out if nowhere. And he woke teething minx up, so we didn't get to bed until 4:30am yesterday morning. Sigh.

meringue I think silver cross do a wooden walker with blocks.

For those worried about wooden floors and face plants, we bought huge big foam mats, which currently cover my living room floor. Bit of a softer landing for the inevitable! They were about £30 from eBay for about 16m2 I think.

Poor ds, lolli hope he feels better soon. Such a shame when they're miserable.

glorious · 21/09/2013 09:06

Oh bunty that sounds dreadful Sad Brew Similarly we have two enormous playmats to go on our wooden floor.

We're about to leave for the airport for our trip to Japan. Scared now! 12 hour flight, 8 hour time difference, have failed to learn any Japanese Confused Oh well, it'll be memorable one way or the other!

CreepyCrawly · 21/09/2013 15:58

Pleased to hear that Nancy's not the only that doesn't laugh!

Good luck glorious, have a lovely time!

I bought a walker yesterday from Amazon and it came today, she's loving it. She's rallying around the house like a pro, sometimes backwards though.

She crawled yesterday! But today she's trying to crawl and sit on her bum all at the same time Hmm

Having a really great day today, she's being so lovely and funny (the 2 nights of 12 hour sleep have definitely helped!, long may it continue).

Hope you're all having good days too :)
