Congratulations lost!!! A lesson to us all... never give up hope Grin

CreepyCrawly · 17/09/2013 09:11

Hope the spots get better lolli

Haha cupcakes, he sleeps all night but may keep you awake by snoring.

Thank you for the birthday wishes :) and yay on the sleep lost!

Have to agree that better daytime sleep = better night time sleep. After not napping yesterday, she went to bed about quarter to 7. Woke up at half past 7, DH settled her. Was up from 10 until 1, and then up again at 4. I think she's coming down with something though, her little nose is a bit stuffy and she's looking sorry for herself. As well as bastard teeth.

Hope you all had better nights!

Pascha · 17/09/2013 10:26

Angielka Fangs. Yes. The two middle top teeth are pointing through the gum but haven't really progressed for a couple of weeks. Daniel is dosed with ibuprofen about 50% of nights at some point as they are obviously driving him insane. Lots of dribble, chewing keys, spoons, anything metal, lots of moaning on and off through the night but very very little actual waking thank goodness. You lot with difficult sleepers have my sympathy.
DH is much better thank you. He was very ginger all weekend and still very bruised down there but managing a normal working day.
Envy of the steam cleaner. I want one. And a new iron too.

Well done littleBobbles on managing a whole night Grin
Hope cars and washing machines and whatever else is going wrong is sorted soon. Its naff when stuff breaks isn't it?
Off to the park now. Oh the joys...

Pascha · 17/09/2013 10:29

Oh god! Daniel keeps chucking his socks off. And he tries to remove the vest whenever I put it over his head! DS1 is refusing to brush teeth and I am trying to make sandwiches!

AAAaaaaagggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

OP posts:
Meringue33 · 17/09/2013 12:32

I think there can be both too little and too much daytime sleep. Over the last few days I've strictly limited his naps to 2 1/2 hours at most and it seems to have made a massive difference at night. He'd happily nap for up to six hours a day but then be up half the night :O

Creepy dying to hear your verdict on the steam cleaner think I'd like one too...

LetThereBeCupcakes · 17/09/2013 13:01

Pascha my MIL said her eldest's teeth were slow to come through and swears by rubbing a sugar cube over them - apparently the abrasion helps. Not sure though!

Congratulations Bobbles!

DS is being really clingy today. Will only sleep on me and was in my bed from 2am last night. We can't be getting MORE teeth already, can we?

The dog has just ripped one of the knobs off the hob.

Birdies · 17/09/2013 15:27

lost wow, that's great. I'm a bit Envy as I had an up several times night last night, though I still think I go to her too quickly.

pascha glad DH is feeling better!

Does anyone else's baby sit up but not sit themselves up? X sits but only when I sit her. And she spins about on her tummy and rolls but doesn't crawl (is 9 months next week). Should I be helping her to learn to crawl or is that daft? And how would I do that?!

I've just bought identical pink snowsuits for my girls! Am doing a matching thing whilst DD1 is young enough to not mind :)

I now want a steam cleaner.

Birdies · 17/09/2013 15:29

What exactly IS a steam cleaner?!

Pascha · 17/09/2013 15:34

Dan is just learning to push up to sitting from certain positions on his tummy or side. He certainly doesn't manage it all the time.

As far as I know crawling isn't actually a milestone. Some babies do classic hands & knees crawling, some commando (like Daniel), some only go backwards, some roll everywhere, some bum-shuffle instead. There's no correlation between crawling and walking. As long as they are trying to get about somehow thats the important thing.

DS1 crawled at 9.5 months and was walking at 11 months.

and running across the room at a year.

AppleCrumples · 17/09/2013 16:48

birdies all 4 of mine have done different things. At this point i doubt Ivy will ever crawl forwards as she has discovered she can get to chairs etc to.pull up on ..only making it up on to her knees so far. She sits herself up now as that is essentiqlly how she gets around!

Sleep shit last night up every 3 hours and she won't nap properly today...why?!

Lostbobbles · 17/09/2013 17:57

Pascha- sock on's! genius invention

newbie6 · 17/09/2013 21:56

Hi all,

V jealous of all the good sleepers, I used to have one but in the last 4 weeks he wakes all the time :(

To be fair he does settle reasonably quickly with either a reassuring pat or a dummy but I can't understand why he used to sleep through and now he doesn't? I think he is teething but no signs of any teeth, would that cause him to wake up more?

His routine is exactly the same although he used to be in bed asleep by 7 but now he tends to go down about 7.30pm, that's the only difference though?

Is anyone else going through this?? Any tips or is it to be expected?

Cheers

X

Lora1982 · 17/09/2013 23:21

Dexter doesnt try to sit up yet either, im not worried just bored and want him to llearn something new

He's also bbeena bit rubbish at night which is new and its definatly new. I started putting a bit of gel on his dummy if he wakes up. So this will be his fangs coming 5/6 teeth now and he's still not bit my nip, what good boy.

Dentist tomorrow all!! Woooo although its not hurt the passed few days.

Ive put him in a sleeping bag tonight in the hope I dont ggetanother 7am wake up call I hope he's ok i fleecy ssleepsuitaswell iitwas 18c in there so hopefully he wwontget hot.

P.s im aware of the shocking spelling but fforreasons unbeknown to me my phone gets ppainfully sluggy oonthis thread and iitsawful trying to go back and correct them all.

CreepyCrawly · 18/09/2013 08:43

birdies, Nancy sits up but doesn't sit herself up, but she is trying to get into a sitting position from a crawling one.

Good luck with the dentist lora.

Yep newbie, I'm with you. Nancy slept through all night every night since she was a few days old up until a few weeks ago, now she's up a few times a night. Nothing changed, I thought it was the heat, then I thought it was her new found ability to roll over, then teeth, etc etc.
She can do still do it though, she just chooses not to most of the time.

She had a good stretch last night though, after DH settled her at about midnight. She slept til 7, so I think he'll be getting up more now :)

Pascha · 18/09/2013 08:52

Sock-ons - brilliant. Forgot about them. And Mocc-ons for christmas too.

OP posts:
Lora1982 · 18/09/2013 10:08

Mocc-ons look gorgeous!

He's started copying us when say aww Grin and he's propper cute when he's tired and reaches for his pushchair so he can have aasleep

lollipoppi · 18/09/2013 17:58

Good luck for tomorrow Lora!

DD has also started waking in the night, not for a feed just for a re settle and back to sleep, must be one of those bastard sleep regressions again!

She has refused to sleep today!! Been awake since 12.30 and is now in the land of Grumpsville!!

New washing machine got delivered today whoop whoop!! Time to tackle Mount Washmore that has taken over my bathroom!

newbie6 · 18/09/2013 18:34

Thanks everyone, hopefully our unsettled babies will get back to normal soon! X

LetThereBeCupcakes · 18/09/2013 19:28

Also loving those Mocc-ons! Shame DH would never go for them...

Lora hope they sort you out tomorrow, it's taken far too long.

DS has a cold now, bless him. Only 2 wake ups last night, then he went back to sleep after his 5.30am wake up (which is usually the start of our day) and slept to 8am - bliss! I've let him have both of his naps on me today as it's the only way to guarantee a decent amount of sleep and he really needs it.

I've had enough of being "married but single" now. Still got at least a month of it to go though. Hmph.

Lora1982 · 18/09/2013 19:47

Cupcakes!! Who on earth gave your dp the power to veto clothing?? :-D my dp will only get the cchoiceof what to dress him in when HE'S getting him dressed. I don't think he's bout one outfit for him apart from the batman suit

Tooth was today and after initial half hour of ache and some trusty cocodamol im currently pain free! Woo. After a year of waiting!! Now maternity leave can start Grin

Dexter has days of refusing his naps too but today one of them lasted two hrs! Its going to ruin the night time isnt it

BuntyCollocks · 18/09/2013 23:04

Hello all, lost you for a while! Have been visiting family mil does not approve of the devil iPhone so unable to read or post.

Mil has, however, fixed my broken baby. I think. Touch wood. She has been, fairly reliably, going down around 8, and wakening at 6. A couple of dummy replacements, but a huge improvement!

C has also started walking with her walker (!) and we finally have an edge of a tooth today - I think. Have thought that before, though! Crawling has progressed to classic hands and knees as opposed to bizarre butterfly crawl.

Boots have some gorgeous clothes in their 3 for 2 ATM for those who like to be organised for the c word ;)
