Hope you feel better soon cupcakes

Come back pascha, we need to know!

Here's hoping everything gets better for everyone real soon Thanks

Nancy refused to sleep since 1 this afternoon, and then fell asleep on the boob for the first time in ages at half 6. She's still fast asleep in her cot now so fingers crossed for a good night.

DH is in the kitchen making a cake for my 23rd birthday tomorrow. Wish I'd done it myself, 'do we have this, do we have that?' And the mess!

Let's have some good sleeps please babies!

Pascha · 14/09/2013 20:02

OK. Kids are asleep, DH is (gingerly) lowering himself into the bath and the dinner is on.

Basically, while they were examining him one testicle got very scared and decided to jump back up inside Hmm. The vas became very tight and they were unable to separate it enough from the surrounding tissue to make the cut, so they abandoned the procedure without doing either side and have referred him to the hospital urologist for it to be done under general anaesthetic. Apparently its the first time in seven years they have had a failure.

He was manipulated so much when they were feeling for it that he has a fairly large amount of bruising and a fair bit of swelling and is very very tender and on max doses of painkiller today.

Poor DH pascha Sad Thanks Hope he feels better soon.

Happy birthday for tomorrow creepy Wine to help with the chaos created by Cake

Birdies · 15/09/2013 09:03

Aw your poor DH pasha I feel really sorry for him. I think if I was him I wouldn't try it again! Surely another baby is preferable to that?! Grin

Happy birthday creepy! How old are you really?! Don't say 23! Envy

lollipoppi · 15/09/2013 09:41

Poor DH pascha, bet he is traumatised!

Happy birthday Creepy!!! Have a great day Thanks

CreepyCrawly · 15/09/2013 09:43

Thanks all! Yep, really 23 birdies! I'm a 1990 baby Grin

Poor DH pascha! Have to agree that another baby sounds preferable.

Angielka · 15/09/2013 09:48

Happy birthday creepy!

Ouch pascha!

I really hope the mastitis/bad sleeping/horrible work/terrible moods and all round crappiness is improving for everyone.

Was it you pascha who talked about fangs? We've got two appearing here, but I think it looks like the gap might fill up soon too, unless the slits I think I've glimpsed have been in my imagination. Did your bubba get the top middle ones or is he still working the vampire look? Wink

Meringue33 · 15/09/2013 09:54

He did it in the middle of baby yoga was too surprised to be proud! I did a double take then had to head him off making for the red hot radiator

(((Hugs))) to you, Cupcakes and everyone else that is struggling.

Poor Pascha's DH :(

Happy birthday Creepy! To think you were only one when Nevermind, Blue Lines and Screamadelica were released :) Hope you have a fabulous day Thanks

Well Friday night was hell - bed at 7 then up at 9, 12 and 3-6am continuously. Yesterday decided to try a new tactic - deprive him of daytime sleep. He napped 11.30-1.30 then we just cruelly kept him up til bed at 6.30pm. It worked! Took him a while to settle as v overtired and felt bad, but he was only up twice and both times went straight back into his cot. Hooray!

Tugstonia · 15/09/2013 10:16

Happy birthday Creepy! Have a wonderful day :) Flowers Cake

Hope you're feeling better Cupcakes, sounds like you're having a really shitty time of it Flowers. I always found with mastitis and blocked ducts that hot showers, hot baths and holding muslins soaked in really hot water on the boob really helped. And rest as much as you can if possible.

Pascha your poor DH :( How is he now?

My DD has started babbling like a crazy woman, it's really quite cute! She was a bugger last night though, up at 9, 10, 1, 3, 4 and then brought her into bed with me and DP and she decided it was playtime... Need matchsticks to keep my eyes open today. Hope everyone else had better nights. Yay Meringue for last night!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 15/09/2013 19:30

Thanks for all the good wishes everybody - the ABs have kicked in now and I'm feeling a lot better. Still a bit uncomfortable to feed DS but nowhere near as bad.

Car situation is still not good but some friends have rallied round to bring me supplies / take me out this week and hopefully we can rustle up some cash to get a car soon.

Do you ever have days when, despite the exhaustion / mess / sore boobs / screaming, you just can't stop looking at your baby and thinking "wow"? He's such a fab little boy.

Meringue33 · 16/09/2013 10:05

Totally, Cupcakes! I can't get over how handsome he is :)

9pm-4.30am last night. Thank fuck :) Maybe we are finally turning the corner.

What a wake up at 4.30am it was though! Two poos, two nappy changes, a wee, a boak, two changes of clothes, a bit of a play then back to sleep from 6-7.30am.

Then at 7.30am another poo, another change of clothes and a change of sheets!

Can't believe it's only ten I feel I've lived several weeks already this morning!

Birdies · 16/09/2013 13:07

creepy! I thought you were joking! Now I feel old old old!! Hope you had a lovely day though :)

cupcakes yes all the time - I just think she's amazing.

meringue you must be knackered after all that!

How is everyone else today?

I know this is boring bu if I write my routine can someone with a good sleeper tell me where I might be going wrong please?! Down to 1 bf so i know thats good but she wakes at 6am when only went to bed at 8pm.

Asleep by 8pm

Wakes btwn 230am & 330am for a bf

Wakes for good around 6am

Nap 1: 930-1030am

Nap 2: 1230-2pm ish

Nap 3: 530-6pm ish

Any ideas?! Thanks

CreepyCrawly · 16/09/2013 14:05

Yikes meringue! Hope the rest of your day has been more chilled out.

cupcakes, yep. It's overwhelming isn't it? I look at her and wonder how we made something so beautiful.

Sorry birdies, I'm mentally about 50 if that makes it any better? I was beyond excited to get a steam cleaner for my birthday (I wanted it, DH isn't that bad).

Can't help with the sleep I'm afraid seeing as Nancy doesn't like sleeping all night anymore, apart from now and again to tease. She only has two naps a day though, one at about 11 and one at about 2.

lollipoppi · 16/09/2013 14:22

Meringue Shock that's a whole lot of poo!!

Birdies, DD was waking at 6am for a while, then she shifted her naps about and she is now awake from 4pm and goes to bed at 7/7.30 and sleeps til 7

Creepy I'd LOVE a steam cleaner!! Would only be useful for the kitchen and bathroom though so not really worth it Hmm

Birdies · 16/09/2013 14:53

cupcakes I would have found a steam cleaner exciting too! Better to be mentally 50 but actually 23 than mentally 50 and actually 35 lol!

lolli what are her nap times now?

lollipoppi · 16/09/2013 15:36

Birdies she has 9.30-11 and 2.30-4 but saying that everyday varies depending on what were doing
Had to go out to the accountants earlier so has messed her naps up

CreepyCrawly · 16/09/2013 17:09

Well today there's been no 2pm nap. Her eyes are so red with tiredness but she's not giving in. So she's up until her bath at 6 now. And the dog has been my shadow for the entire day.

The baby I can cope with, would anyone like an over-affectionate boxer dog?'

Haven't even had a chance to do any steam cleaning :(

newbie6 · 16/09/2013 18:34

Hi birdies,

I'm no expert so just want to say that upfront but maybe your LO is sleeping too much during the day? Doesn't look like you are letting them sleep lots but maybe if you cut the lunchtime nap by half an hour?

Hopefully someone with more experience than me will be along to help soon! I've just been v lucky I think with my LO.

X

lollipoppi · 16/09/2013 18:57

Quick question!

DD has got spots all over her face, all round her eyes too and hairline, nowhere else on her body
I thought it was just teething but starting to wonder if maybe its something else?

I've spent my day hand washing as still have no washing machine, sooo rock n roll my life Grin

AppleCrumples · 16/09/2013 19:00

*l

AppleCrumples · 16/09/2013 19:12

lolli could it be excema? Both dds got these spots on theie faces and oilatum clears it right up. It still comes up on Ivy if dp kisses her without shaving.

Re naps mine all slept better if they had slept properly in the day. That saidcIvy refusee to sleep yesterday and was horrid all afternoon...then slept 7-5!

Angielka · 16/09/2013 19:24

Yeah, I've read loads of people saying that the earlier their kids go to bed, and the better they sleep during the day, the longer they sleep at night. It is totally counter-intuitive when you first hear it, but I've come across it in sleep books too, and it does make sense if you think about it. Babies that are rested are less wired and able to let go, whereas over-tired babies can't calm down enough to get into a good deep sleep. I dunno, babies are all different too; it's what works for you. Maybe it's worth experimenting with nap lengths and bedtimes.

lollipoppi · 16/09/2013 19:46

Could be apples, think il email a pic to the docs and see they will prescribe something, unless its something I can get over the counter?

Agree with angiel on the sleep! The better DD (and DS) sleep in the day the better they sleep at night
