Cejay8 · 11/09/2013 20:21

S uses a baby bjorn soft plastic bib; they are fab. A friend gave me two for DS and been using them three times a day for years now :).

Meringue33 · 11/09/2013 21:11

But do they cover sleeves, Cejay??

lollipoppi · 11/09/2013 21:13

Ok, I'm at a loss of what to do, For the past 3 nights DD has gone to bed fine, then woke screaming and doesn't stop! Every time I get her to sleep and back in her cot she wakes instantly, she is calpoled, gelled and granuled HELP!

AppleCrumples · 11/09/2013 21:46

Sorry no help lolli but sympathy as you just described last night here too! Naps gone to pot too :(
Pretty sure its teeth as she is very dribbly and constantly chewing her finger. Just keep reminding yourself its probably just a phase!

Ivy has started to refuse food on a spoon! So i'm just bunging whateve onto her tray and hoping it gets in, chicken casserole went down well. She is still crawling backwards and nearly sat on another baby yesterday as she just shuffles bakwards with no thought for whats behind her! :)

Re bibs i am clearly a slattern but gen just shove then in the washing machine with whatever else is in there Blush

lollipoppi · 11/09/2013 22:00

aw apples, I'm praying for the end of this phase!! It goes on all night long!

DD also refuses to be spoon fed so I just bung it all on her tray and let her get stuck in - argghhh the mess though! I've already broke one Hoover!

Bibs just get bunged in the washing machine, but I like the sound if those plastic bibs!

Lora glad your first day back went well, if only every day was like that Wink

Lostbobbles · 11/09/2013 22:17

Lolli could it the dreaded 8 month regression not that I'm dreading it as can't regress much more or if teeth related have you tried Ambesol gel, it's rank but really numbs.

Meringue, I use the neoprene bibbeta with sleeves they are fab, food pieces wipe off easy then just shove in wash and they dry quickly.

Creepy good to hear from you, seriously though go and see the dr, even if its just to have a chat and to rule pnd out. I had what was labelled late onset pnd with DD1. really it was my DH being an arse, being put on a contraceptive pill that turned me loopy and just adapting to having a baby

Lora1982 · 12/09/2013 05:28

Lolli my dr laughed at me when I told them the contraceptive pill was making me loopy so im glad someone else noticed it happen too!

I just shuv bibs in with the rest of his stuff dont even use bibs we wrap muzzies round his neck

Meringue33 · 12/09/2013 07:26

Cool thanks guys maybe its just my washer is shit as if I wash the bibs with other stuff everything comes out covered in food!

Pill made me mega loopy, not been on it since 2006. Hoping the condoms don't break! not that we get a chance to Dtd these days anyway what with LO up half the night

Pascha · 12/09/2013 08:06

Danny ate a spider I just saw the legs coming out of his mouth it was a big black one luckily dead already Shock

OP posts:
CreepyCrawly · 12/09/2013 08:47

I never even thought it could be the pill! DH being an arse is almost definitely a factor too.

Eww pascha! Always handy to have a spider disposer though!

I through all of Nancy's stuff in together. If these a lot of food on the bib though, I give it a shake for the dog in the bin.

meringue well done with the cbt. I find morning is best for dtd at the moment.

She slept all night! For the first time in 2 and a half months! Refused to go down at 7 like she usually does, DH manages to settle her (for the first time) just after 8 and she woke up at 7. I'm telling myself it's just a fluke though so I don't get too excited.

Pascha · 12/09/2013 09:17

Yay Creepycrawly! Your name makes me shudder though now. Am sat in Costa recovering after nursery drop off. First time I've ever gone for coffee just me and a baby on maternity leave. Does that make me a yummy mummy at last?r

OP posts:
lollipoppi · 12/09/2013 10:25

Eeeeekkkkk pascha! I would have freaked out Grin

Creepy yay on the sleeping!

DD settled down at around 1am, I think it's a combo of teething and the bastard sleep regression!

glorious · 12/09/2013 11:59

Eugh Dan I'm sure pascha is giving you plenty of tastier things for breakfast! But yay for the quiet coffee.

creepy the pill made me really grumpy, I didn't realise until I stopped taking it. And about 10% fatter. Glad you had a good night.

Birdies · 12/09/2013 13:03

pascha you've got to be joking?! That is hideous! I literally shuddered when I read that. I need a coffee too now.

I can't take the pill either, had severe migraines on it.

creepy am Envy re sleeping all night. But pleased for you as well of course! Am really considering a move to formula in case she wakes just to comfort feed.

Angielka · 12/09/2013 15:42

Good news creepy for the sleeping! Wondering about comfort feeding too birdies but on the other hand, I quite like being able to comfort her in a way nobody else can control freak and I know it won't last forever.

Two new teeth on the way here, which explains the moaniness and hopefully the short rubbish naps we've been having. She's currently on her fourth nap today because they've all been 30 minuters...

pascha you be a yummy mummy if that's what you want! We had our first day of nursery with no tears at drop off today. Only took nearly two heartbreaking weeks. DD1 came out this afternoon saying 'we'll come back another day', which is an improvement on 'I cry when you leave me there...'

I live in hope. No wake ups - tonight might be the night Smile.

AppleCrumples · 12/09/2013 15:50

Ewwww pascha that made me laugh and feel a bit sick! Just think of it as protein :) Envy

Think i can see new tooth today so that explains some of her mardiness!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/09/2013 19:37

Hi everybody. Been MIA due to horrendous sleep. DS has been waking up at about 1am for the last 3 nights and staying awake for 2-3 hours. This is on top of his normal two-hourly wakeups. Although he does usually miss the 3am wakeup. Because he's already awake. Is there a "Bloody Knackered" emoticon? There should be.

We have a tooth, too, so maybe that's why. Hopefully he'll soon go back to his normal level of rubbish sleep.

We've got our first gym babies class tomorrow. I'm oddly excited for somebody who used to get a migraine at the thought of doing PE at school.

I ate a spider in my sleep once, when I was a teenager. I know because when I woke up the legs were caught in my train-track braces. I was traumatised.

Birdies · 12/09/2013 20:36

That made me laugh cupcakes! The spider story I mean, not the lack of sleep! I haven't had it quite as bad, but only today I said to DH "you know when I said I was tired before, well now I'm REALLY tired". You know how you don't think you could get any more tired...and then you do? Hmm, I'm waffling.

Talking of spiders, we tried the conker trick for trying to deter them. Put conkers all over the house. It didn't work - found a massive one...STRADDLING one of the conkers.

Meringue33 · 12/09/2013 20:37

Lol Creepy there is no chance in the morning as we almost invariably wake up with a happy little camper between us!

Pascha enjoy the yummy mumminess! I am hooked on their chocolate tiffins. Yeuch at the spider stories!

Sorry to hear about the other non sleepers. Hugely relieved to know its not just us though. Seems like all the other babies in my NCT group are sleeping through now. Felt like I'd hit a real rock bottom today with it, so did poor DP who I keep telling to go and sleep in the other room.

glorious · 12/09/2013 21:03

Eugh cupcakes that's awful!

Luckily my NCT group mostly have bad sleepers, just one sleeps through. But others I know have good sleepers and one in particular doesn't know how lucky she is - she was complaining to me when her teething baby woke once a night for a week Shock . Another baby falls asleep on her playmat when she needs a nap, but her num is lovely and they've been through a lot so I reckon they deserve it.

So while I wish you all had sleeping babies it is reassuring. My goal atm is to be in my bed until 1am, preferably without having fed her since 8. Then I generally go next door to sleep on a mattress on the floor with her for the 2 hourly wakings as I'm too tired to sit up with her any more. I miss my Wine and it's getting a bit cold without a duvet even in merino thermals, so planning to do some more from No cry sleep solution when we're back from holiday to help her self settle. Maybe Confused

glorious · 12/09/2013 21:19

Her -mum- is lovely.

And incidentally DD wakes hourly or more at first so two hourly isn't quite as bad. We're having some success with wake to sleep in the evenings though, she's settling much better and I rarely have to feed her before 11 now, and sometimes not until 1, rather than every time from 9.

Bugger, shouldn't have typed that. Feeding Sad

Lora1982 · 12/09/2013 21:33

Pascha can you try him with flies please and if he likes them send him over, ta.

We have four teeth now two at the top and the bottom two. Dp says the top ones look grosse.. like a broken bone sticking out of skin.

Back to being concerned about poo. None today and hardly drank anything.... ive got a sneaky suspicion it could be my god send pills but then he only boob feeds for 5ish mins twice a day.

glorious · 13/09/2013 08:29

Eugh dreadful night. Calpol administered at 11 which helped. Think we have serious teething. She's still not happy.

Tugstonia · 13/09/2013 08:56

Well I knew the run of good nights wouldn't last... up countless times in the night, but poor DD has a cold and cough so she couldn't help it. Ended up bringing her into bed with me and kicking DP out. Bloody knackered emoticon needed here too. Cupcakes and lolli hope you had better nights.

Sorry you had a shitty night as well Glorious, sending you lots of Brew.

Pascha and cupcakes blurgh at your spider eating stories!

Meringue33 · 13/09/2013 11:26

In our bed from 12, attached to boob, his 2 1/2 teeth rasping away. Then he woke for day at 5.25am :O. I asked DP to give him breakfast and a bottle as I couldn't even bear to put my poor nipples back in his mouth.
