Sad poor Lora.

Birdies · 09/09/2013 13:16

That's so cute pascha

lora the problem is i cuddle DD1 to sleep so I need up to 30 mins to settle her. Then X asleep straight away (fed to sleep) and then I sit and watch X factor. And eat. And eat. But I maybe brave and try some changes just to see if thinks can improve at night. Though I do need to stop jumping up as soon as she makes a teeny noise.

Anyone else get their period back (can't remember abbreviation for that!) and then it be late? I'm not panicking..yet..but I got one, then another exactly 28 days later (which is how it's been for years) and now it is several days late. Is this normal? We hardly have time to DTD so it wouldn't be far off an immaculate conception. Although not impossible. But I'm not thinking about that. It's normal heh?

Tugstonia · 09/09/2013 13:24

Pascha how annoying about the coat.

Lora poor you and your tooth, hope you can get an appt sooner.

Birdies POAS!!!

It's freezing here. Feels very autumnal. I need to go to the shops but can't be arsed as it's raining.

I'm working this evening so my mum and DP are doing tea, bath and bed time. Should be interesting as DD is usually fed to sleep....

Birdies · 09/09/2013 13:38

tugs!!!!! You are not meant to say that!! Come on someone else tell me this is normal?!

Meringue33 · 09/09/2013 13:46

Birdies I plan to phase out bf after we come back from a holiday in October. I can't stop fantasising about having a spa day and night in a hotel while DP looks after LO. Sleep glorious sleep. He's had several nights off, I haven't had one! LO has had a bottle at night tho since he was nine weeks old so don't think it should be too hard.

lollipoppi · 09/09/2013 14:18

Birdies, I have the same problem with DS and DD, DD still cuddles to sleep in the day so I get her off to sleep, then cuddle DS to sleep too, by the time I've done DS, then DD Is awake Confused

That happened to me too, had 2 normal periods then nothing!! After shitting myself 3 negative tests it appeared about 2 weeks late

AppleCrumples · 09/09/2013 14:28

tugs no period here yet :) but i seem to remember they took a while to settle down after my older dc. In fact i remember having q bit of a scare just after they came back from dd1! Hth

birdies plan to bf til at least Jan. Never bothered with bottles as someone else said its a bit of a faff for only a few months. That said you do what works for you :)

pascha thats annoying about the coat. It gets worse though mine are constantky losing bits of uniform.and ds1 has lost 2 coats over the years. Sometimes wonder why i bother with putting thwir names in

Birdies · 09/09/2013 17:35

Phew lolli! I'm determined not to test as it really would be unlikely. I'm so not ready for a third.

Thanks everyone, i think I will keep going with the bf then. The MIL said she 'assumed I would be stopping soon' so I wondered if it was unusual to still be bf (I told her 'no of course not, why would I?' but it didn't stop me wondering if I should!).

Birdies · 09/09/2013 17:37

Don't know why i would listen to her anyway, when her answer to everything is 'she must be teething'. X puts a finger in her mouth, "must be teething". X accidentally brushes her ear with her hand, "must be teething". X sits and plays with a toy, "must be teething". Arghhhh!!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 09/09/2013 18:03

Planning to breastfeed for a good while yet. Did vaguely consider switching to formula but it all seems a bit complicated! DH and DM have given him the odd bottle though. Keeps them happy!

Ds fell asleep on the boob last night so I got out of the screaming fit, however he decided to make up for it by screaming from 3am until 5am instead. Hmm

He's properly got the hang of crawling now, and has decided that the most entertaining thing he can do is try and drink out of the dogs water bowl. Lovely. Can't relax even for a second as I'm so worried he'll nose dive into it!

Cejay8 · 09/09/2013 19:05

S seems to think a 30 minute nap after lunch is sufficient! Then can't be put down all afternoon Shock at least she went to bed at 6pm.

I combi fed for first 3 months so my period came back after 4 months and then back to 26 day cycle. I started taking the pill again about a week ago (after 12 trouble free years taking it) but my goodness it was like being 8 weeks pregnant again! I felt so exhausted, miserable and moody so I've stopped taking it and feel bit more normal today....thinking DH can get the snip instead Smile though I'm still in two minds about a third..... Wink

Lora1982 · 09/09/2013 19:44

Period came back at 5 months for me... I blame boob gate and all the antibiotics-- I got the coil shuved in cant say ive had a late one but theyve been irratic and early.

Crap news on the appointment front they'd have to send letters so theres no chance of it being brought forward. Just have to get myself to the dr tomorrow and beg for pills. Work friends giving me super ibruprufen ttomorrowaswell as the cocodamols I got today bless his cottons :-D he refused to give me the morphine tablets though so im yet to see what the fuss is about with that! Perhaps wise!

On the boobfeeding I mix it already with his bbottlein the afternoon so I'll just carry on the morning and night boob feed till he dont fancy it anymore.

Can I just say ladies... twas a twentyfive past seven sleepies tonight :-D straight in his cot after he fell sleep on the boob

Pascha · 09/09/2013 20:29

Yeah I got the coil shoved in too. No periods yet but they didn't come back last time til 14 months so I hope I've got a while to go yet. DH is getting snipped on friday. He's bricking it. I have little sympathy really as it just doesn't compare does it?

Have you got the big bastard 30/500 cocodamol Lora? and lots of ibuprofen as well?

OP posts:
Lora1982 · 09/09/2013 20:57

I do indeed have the big bastards Grin they did sod all today because I only took one at a time but ive just done two and im having my first agony free half hour. Ive got cheapo ibruprufen. Whats the rules is it take that two hrs after the cocodamol so im taking something every two hours?

Lora1982 · 09/09/2013 20:58

Ive heard rumours that 50/500s exist this may be urban legend Grin

Lostbobbles · 10/09/2013 06:19

Lora - Ask for stronger pain killers and a stronger anti-inflammatory (you can take both together)

Little monkey here has now taken to throwing her dummies out of the cot! And then shouting for them. Obviously eradicating everything off the highchair and playing missiles out of the pushchair is not enough fun.....

lollipoppi · 10/09/2013 07:59

Worse.night.ever!!
Clearly she was in pain with something she was screaming, calpol, teething gel, teething granules had no effect so think it must have been tummy ache
Up until 3am where I could take no more pacing with her and she finally fell asleep in bed with me at 3.30, DS1 got up at 6 Confused

Tugstonia · 10/09/2013 09:34

Sorry Birdies, not helpful was I!! I'm sure postnatal periods can fluctuate, esp if you're breastfeeding. Any sign of it yet? I still haven't had a period although I do get PMT and mild periody cramps every now and then. I'm planning to continue breastfeeding until at least a year. DD is down to about 4 or 5 bf a day and when I go back to work properly in December will just do morning and bedtime.

Lora poor you and your teeth :(

Oh Lolli you must be knackered. How is your DD now? Any chance of a nap for you later?

lollipoppi · 10/09/2013 09:58

She's all smiles now Angry
We've all got the dentist later so im hoping they both fall asleep in the car, I would happily sit on the drive and have a little snooze myself Grin

I've been job hunting, me and DP have decided I'm not going back to work at the shop as we can't afford for us both to be self employed, and we have enough staff there to cover me, only thing is I would only be able to do evenings due to child care Hmm

Lora1982 · 10/09/2013 20:36

What a wonderful day Grin
Dr gave me some beautiful pills
Did 4 hours keep in touch there was only 1 hrs work so i spent the remainder shopping through the catalogue spending the rest of my clothing allowance and drinking tea.

Might not be allowed the shifts ive requested though and if I cant my mum will have to babysit for the day she'll be praying for this to happen bless her but I cant survive on two days so I need to sort it out I think.

Good luck for this evening all. And birdies ignore her sleep mumbles until its a scream Grin

glorious · 10/09/2013 21:04

Yay that sounds good lora

CreepyCrawly · 11/09/2013 12:28

Thanks all. Glad you're feeling better tugs, I keep putting off going to the dr.

Yay on the pills lora

I'm planning to bf until January. Though I do keep threatening to stop everytime she pinches me.

I'm gonna do some more catching up when I'm on my laptop, phone is rubbish. Hope everyone's well!

Meringue33 · 11/09/2013 17:21

Hey Creepy. I called the PCT today to self refer onto a CBT course, been meaning to do it for ages.

Lora pills sound good, you may have to share :)

Question for all: what the hell do you do with three manky bibs per day? It's not enough for a wash but I don't want to put them in with other laundry due to all the food bits. I rinse them under the tap, but still :( Can't save them up or they go mouldy.

Birdies · 11/09/2013 18:09

AF has arrived, a week late, but phew!

lora sounds good re the pills!

meringue I just shove them in the washing machine, food bits and all! Is that bad for the machine?! Prob why it's starting to stink haha!

Meringue33 · 11/09/2013 19:41

Phew! :)

But do you put them in with anything else or run a whole wash just with that day's bibs? Confused
