Here we go again

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AppleCrumples · 20/08/2013 19:52

octane I'm a bit like that. Tends to be whatever has been frozen down and i've remembered to defrost

On the subject of weaning is anyones baby seeming to be more 'sicky'? Ivy seems well as normal. Eating fine, no temp or anything but last few days has been sicking up some things. It seems worse after shes had water from her cup,.so wondered if was due to the valve so changrd back to free flow. I suppose it could be down to spending more time onher belly? Or maybe i am.over feeding her? She had had less today and not as much coming back up?

I should know all thia but have completly forgotten if any of this is normal!

Have been on my own with all 4 today and am frankly at the end of my rope :(

LetThereBeCupcakes · 20/08/2013 20:39

apple hope you can put your feet up when they're all in bed.

octane we are BLW so DS has whatever we're having unless it's too nice to share. He will eat anything, though his favourites seem to be anything eggy or paper based.

Don't look now, but we're getting some improvement in sleep! Little man has skipped one of his night feeds 3 nights in a row. Different feed each time, but that's still progress, right?

Took MIL into town today and we spent a small fortune on fabric. Can't wait to make a start on DS' christmas stocking!

lollipoppi · 20/08/2013 21:15

Meringue glad your feeling better hope DS is ok too

Octane DD is BLW too as the little madam won't let me feed her anymore but I struggle too everything seems to be the same and to be honest a bit boring!

Apple hope the kids are in bed now and you having some Wine

Cupcakes yay on the sleeping! Fingers crossed it continues Smile

Horrible day over here, DS1 fell and face planted the corner of some concrete steps in mums garden, his mouth took the full fall and he has a massive cut inside where his tooth went into his lip and bruised all his top gums Hmm poor little man

lollipoppi · 21/08/2013 08:18

Urgh, up 1.30-3.30am, pass the Brew

Meringue33 · 21/08/2013 12:43

Aw poor DS1 Lolli :(

LO fell off the bed yesterday and thumped his head. He seemed alright and 111 advised not to go to A&E. I felt awful though! He was right in the centre playing and I only turned my back for a minute. Lesson learned!

Apples I feel at the end of my rope too. Just so bloody tired. When is he going to sleep through????

Birdies · 21/08/2013 12:58

Ouch, lots of injuries :( Hope everyone is ok.

angiel I think it was you who said about not feeding too often at night. Well Ive done the odd jiggle to sleep instead and am now down to one feed at 2am! So thanks :) Right, how do I tackle the 6am waking?! She only sleeps 10 hours at night, surely that should be more?

Am also aware that everytime I report a good sleep on here it all changes again....

bunty how are you doing with the quarantine?

cupcakes glad you're getting more sleep too. Lolli Brew

apples can't help I'm afraid, never any sick here. But I guess if she's well in herself then you're doing the right thing by just trying a different cup and a bit less food.

octane I'm doing ok with the weaning but exactly the same as you re variety. I like it when she likes something so I kind of stick to it. But I do try to vary her finger food. And each meal I make sure she has some finger food to play with and try. I now vary her breakfast so it's either weetabix, ready brek or baby porridge (with say banana in a mesh bag, pear or some other fruit). Lunch is toast plus something (eg cucumber or broccoli) and tea is some sort if hot meal with rice cakes or something. So all finger food for lunch. Maybe I need to change that. But as long as she does the odd solid poo I reckon it's ok! I also give her Wellkid vitamin drops twice a day so I know she's getting all the vitamins she needs.

Blimey that was a long post.

Meringue33 · 21/08/2013 17:02

Restored after an afternoon with other mums :)

Note to self: must get out of the house as much as possible.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 21/08/2013 18:12

Hardly any napping in the cupcake household today. Doesn't bode well for tonight!

It's Ds' christening this weekend. Was really looking forward to it, but SIL has started bulldozing things. She already changed the menu and now she wants to change the reading, which her daughter is supposed to be doing. Grr. Same thing happened at my wedding. If this keeps up I shall have to go a tiny bit nuclear. Angry

lollipoppi · 21/08/2013 20:58

Birdies, yay on the sleeping! If you figure out the 6am waking please share!

Cupcakes ShockShockShock on the SIL!! She sounds delightful!
I am livid on your behalf Angry

Birdies · 21/08/2013 21:24

cupcakes it's christening weekend for us too! You are far more tolerant than me though, I would be livid if that happened! Although I guess as a good catholic I should be more tolerant Grin Hope you manage to enjoy it anyway.

BuntyCollocks · 21/08/2013 21:39

birdies I am dying! In bed already reading and mn'ing as ds was up most of the night, wakening madam. He's all spots, feeling v sorry for himself, wheezy, lost his voice, and when not dosed to the gunnels with calpol or nurofen is burning up. :( spots are everywhere, even in between his bum cheeks when I was wiping him after a poo today (glam, eh?).

Dh and I managed, I think, maybe 3 hours sleep last night. He's now in the spare room, poised for action tonight, ds's cot is back in our room, door is shut, and I'm hoping for a better night all round.

Enjoy th christenings, birdies and cupcakes!

Angielka · 21/08/2013 22:33

yay birdies! Glad it helped you too. Oh, we've had a few 5.30 wakings so can't help you there Sad

Cejay8 · 22/08/2013 18:58

DS has always been an early riser I'm afraid to say; and we've tried everything! He's 3 now and we feel lucky to get to 6.30am without hearing him potter around his room. DD is waking at a similar time but I feed her and put her back to bed normally. On the upside I normally have them both in bed at around 6.30pm, 7pm latest Wine

Meringue33 · 23/08/2013 02:43

Seriously. I don't mind getting up to do a night feed. I do mind getting up to do a feed, two nappy changes and hanging around for 1-2 hours to keep LO company until he finally decides he wants to sleep again Angry

glorious · 23/08/2013 06:43

Early wakings are a total killer aren't they. Strangely the thing that seems to have helped is me stopping obsessing over daytime naps so that rather than desperately forcing her to have 3 hours (4 just impossible) by pacing the streets all day I put her down and if she won't resettle after 40 mins then so be it. And magically the day no longer starts at 530. We're up feeding atm but she's falling back to sleep Smile

Yesterday I spoke to the nursery we have been registered with since October and they won't have a place for Ellen in January/February as they've filled everything in September and we're 7th on the list for any spaces that do come up. They take 9 1-2s so seems unlikely. Our other local nursery also full. I'm looking into childminders but not keen on most of them from their adverts. Grrrr, London.

I'm seeing a friend with a 6 week old today, very excited!

Meringue33 · 23/08/2013 10:03

Uh oh Glorious! I am dreading similar news. The nursery keep giving me verbal reassurance that we should be ok to get a place, but they can't confirm yet. I didn't like anywhere else we viewed so if that falls through will be back to square one :O

Currently parked in a shady spot. Baby is in the back seat snoring. I have a magazine, drink and packet of chocolate Hobnobs :)

glorious · 23/08/2013 10:20

Hopefully that makes up for the night meringue . I can't stand night nappy changes either. Just go back to sleep!

AppleCrumples · 23/08/2013 10:26

Ivy not well, up at 11-12.30 with temp. Endedup with3 overnight feeds, lots of crying and plenty of calpol :(

She seema better this morning but tired (as am i). Shes gone in the travel cot for her nap. Hoping whatever it is has peaked.

Also dd1 has a recurring eye infection so it was bacj to dr for anti bs. Now i have to fight to get drops in 4x a day :( She enjoyed her birthday on weds though, can't believe she is 5!

glorious yay on the sleep. Hope you can get something sorted for Ellen. Enjoy new baby cuddles today seems ages since ours were so little.

meringue poor you. Please join me in a Brew

Hope everyone else ok.

AppleCrumples · 23/08/2013 10:29

Meant to say bunty hope your ds is feeling better. The pox is the pits x

Meringue33 · 23/08/2013 21:21

Thanks guys :)

More early nights til this phase finally ends...

Lora1982 · 23/08/2013 23:42

So had the meeting at work. I'm not back properly til first week of jan Grin but I will be in a week in sept and dec for the sales for kit day so some money will come in.

We have waving and crawling backwards

Meringue33 · 24/08/2013 03:27

So the baby is asleep in his room. DP is crashed out in the spare room having had a few drinks. I am wide awake!!! Wtf!!!

Lora1982 · 24/08/2013 06:00

Im wide awake with tooth ache :( its not getting sorted til 18th of sep and its agony.

glorious · 24/08/2013 07:14

It's so frustrating when you wake up and they're asleep isn't it. I'm doing that too.

Sorry about the tooth pain, if it's keeping you awake is there any chance of getting seen sooner?

Spoke too soon on the early wakings Sad

Btw I realised my comment on nappies was a bit unclear. I didn't mean leave them. I just think 'why won't you sleep instead of poo' then get up and sort it out (grumpily! ).

Cejay8 · 24/08/2013 09:48

S has been poorly the last couple days with a temp and not eating, she woke at 5.30 and was burning up again, she's been asleep the past 3 hours! I had a doctors appointment Thursday for myself so got her checked too and doctor said probably the usual viral infection thingy. It's horrid seeing them so poorly and she's hating the calpol being forced upon her. If she's no better today am thinking of taking her to be seen again. Not the greatest start to the long weekend and weather looking a bit rubbish so far. What's everyone got planned? I need some inspiration!
