Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Lora1982 · 24/08/2013 09:53

Im going to ring them glorious, see if theyve had a cancellation or something. Its sods law that im awake every night and its not because of the baby! To get a four hour block I take 30 strength cocodamol (left over from kind midwives) smother with orajel and adult bonjela and strap a hot water bottle to my face. Glad I extended my time off I feel like my massive break from works been tainted the whole way.

lollipoppi · 24/08/2013 10:40

Cejay hope S is better soon, I find Darcie takes calpol better off a spoon rather than a syringe

Apple how is ivy now? Any better?

Lora hope you manage to get an appt toothache is horrible Hmm

Off out to a local show today, lots of animals and stunt shows that DS will enjoy
DP just informed me he is working all wkend and Monday, boooooo another wkend alone Hmm

Cejay8 · 24/08/2013 11:44

She's still asleep, that's 5 hours!

lollipoppi · 24/08/2013 12:15

Have you tried to wake him?

lollipoppi · 24/08/2013 12:15

Her! Doh Smile

Cejay8 · 24/08/2013 17:00

I woke her and took her to the walk in clinic, her throat looks very sore and they said its a viral infection. Lots of calpol, neurofen, fluids etc. She's had 7.5 hrs of naps today! And she's not complaining one bit, bless her. It's rained all day here; I need to get out of the house!

lollipoppi · 24/08/2013 19:44

Bless her, hopefully she is sleeping it off hope she is better in the morning

Meringue33 · 24/08/2013 20:09

Aw poor Cejay's baby hope she feels better soon :(

I know what you meant Glorious :)

This LO is on a milk only diet for 24 hrs to see if that stops his diarrhoea bum. Felt very guilty indeed when he was watching us have our salmon and mash :(

LetThereBeCupcakes · 25/08/2013 21:32

meringue and cejay hope your little ones are feeling better.

Utter terror in the cupcakes household tonight - DS choked on some pear. Had to hold him face down and slap him on the back and thank god it came out. Think I've just about stopped shaking now, but it's really made me question my decision to do BLW.

On the upside, Little Mans Naming Ceremony was yesterday and it was lovely. He has been thoroughly spoilt!

Lora1982 · 26/08/2013 00:27

Shit with the choking! !!! I went on a first aid course but I would still be shitting myself if I had to use it. If it's the first time he's choked he may have learnt his limits now so you could carry on I wouldnt, id be a wimp and subject him to a life of puree

Milestone moment.... 1st time I've been able to get pissed in ages and dexter woke up so dp has to deal with it. He didn't have an afternoon nap so I can see the pair of them up for hours. I love u karma :-D seriously it's the 1st night in nearly 8 months ive not had to deal with it.

Pascha · 26/08/2013 08:55

Yo. Been a few days.

Apple, Bunty, Cejay and Meringue hope babies are on the mend now. Poor DS, Cupcakes how scary. Hope he's ok now. We seem to be having a spate of poorly children don't we?

We had a great day yesterday at the local Tractorfest, got lots of pictures of the boys pretending to drive all the great big tractors and machines. It was really nice of the farmers to let all the kids clamber all over them, you don't get that very often.

Today I have to go shopping at Lakeside Sad its going to be hell. At least I only have to take Dan who will be a good boy I hope. I'm going to Ikea too for my sins. I must be mad.

OP posts:
lollipoppi · 26/08/2013 10:15

Jeez cupcakes that must have been scary Hmm
Hope all babies are feeling better?

DD and DS are both full of colds
I'm Angry with DP this morn, i was up all night with both of them, finally got to bed at 4am, DP got up with them at 6.30 after a gentle punch, then woke me up at 7 so he could go the the gym! Grrrrrrr

LetThereBeCupcakes · 26/08/2013 17:56

Yesterday's choking incident has made me a total coward. Poor DS has been subjected tomashed food all day. I was going to give him some finger food at lunch, then he got hiccups and I was afraid he'd hiccup something down the wrong way Blush. By dinner time he was getting frustrated and he need up grabbing his bowl from me and slurping his down down.

Awful sleeping last night too - up every hour from midnight onwards. Perhaps we will see a tooth soon.

Cejay8 · 26/08/2013 20:13

I've been giving S nurofen for her sore throat and fever but seems to be giving her tummy ache. She's still so grumpy, not like her at all and it's such hard work all day! I miss her!

I'm doing mostly puréed food with finger food as snacks, seems be working ok for us; she still has quite a bit of milk too. Ought to get her weighed again soon.

Meringue33 · 26/08/2013 20:46

Thanks guys, poo is still odd but I will spare you the details!

Cupcakes how scary :(

Today I gave him rice, he got frustrated trying to lift it to his mouth so eventually just bent over and sucked/licked the grains off the high chair tray :)

Pascha · 26/08/2013 21:12

Daniel hoovers off the tray too greedy bugger I think he'd eat his own hand if it was tasty enough.

OP posts:
AppleCrumples · 26/08/2013 21:15

meringue Ivy did something similar withher cup earlier. She couldn't quite get it up off her mat where she dropped it so bent over and got spout in her mouth (obviously this doesn't really work with a cup). She looked mad though! :)

cupcakes that must have been scarey.

cejay poor dd. Hope she is on the mend now.

Ivy seems better. Still sicky if i try to feed her too much so have cut down bf during the day, mostly because she is not that interested! More solids, slowing down her drinking from cup also seemed to help. Think temp was down to a virus. Sadly she no longer sleeps through and we are back to 2 feedsa night. Wouldn't be too bad but i got usedto only once or not at all. Hey ho!

Hope everyone else ok, its quiet round here at the mo!

Ps only 8 daysto go til dcs cam be handed back to professionals, i need a break --still as dp refused to take dc out on his day off , just took them into the garden whilst i cleared up inside. Why he thought that was the break and breathing room i needed is beyond me. He was like this Confused when he realised i was annoyed with him!

glorious · 27/08/2013 13:58

Poor you cupcakes that sounds terrifying. I don't blame you for the nerves.

Hope things are on the up cejay

lolli I'd have kicked him!

We're waiting in departures for Ellen's first flight. Not going well so far. She weed all over her clothes while being changed, then I temporarily lost my phone and ended up sobbing at the security people. Now the flight is delayed by an hour which is ages when you were early anyway. And the coffee shop lady got my order wrong.

Ellen's quite constipated and we've been tempting her with prune juice so I reckon we're in for an explosion on the plane!

At least it's my mum I'm staying with Smile

Meringue33 · 27/08/2013 16:12

Angry for you Apples, DP needs a talking to! :)

We just had a night like that Cupcakes, up every bloody hour, god I'm knackered

Pascha this LO does try to eat his own hand - and his feet too!

Enjoy your hols Glorious :)

lollipoppi · 27/08/2013 20:41

Glorious have a lovely holiday hope the flight was ok

I don't know wtf is going on with DD, every night for the past 3 nights she has woke screaming every half an hour until 2/3/4am
She has a cold so I'm putting it down to that and possibly some more teeth coming through

Lostbobbles · 27/08/2013 23:28

Hello all

Sorry to hear of all poorly babies, dd2 has a bit of cold as well.

Cupcakes, choking is so scary. We have had a couple of moments but tbh I think I jump in too soon and she prob would of coughed it up but I panic.

Been busy here, friends 40th on friday, then my dad and sm were up for the weekend. Had lovely time mainly eating and drinking not enough drinking on my part Smile

Today I took DD1 to legoland for her birthday (tomorrow) it was the first time I have left DD2 for so long but she was fine. DD1 had a fab time and it was so nice to spend some time with her on our own.

Apples : hope you get a break you must be exhausted! DD2 has also been feeding twice the last few days, but she has never slept anyway so not much difference to my nights.

Oh well best try get some sleep before the onslaught of presents tomorrow god only knows where I am going to put it all

Lostbobbles · 27/08/2013 23:30

Ps - expressed 14oz on return home earlier, being away all day is torture Confused dreading giving up feeding

BuntyCollocks · 28/08/2013 00:49

Ds on the mend, thanks, pascha.

Had a horrendous night last night with dd, she was up every hour and has had a temp for the last 24 ... Tooth or pox? Neither have appeared as yet. This is the best night in ages, she was in bed at 8:30 and just up. I've been unable to sleep Hmm on tenterhooks waiting for her to get up, so will hopefully pass out now. I am beyond tired.

She had her 8 month check today, hv v happy, and is going to get some ideas for her sleeping as we've tried everything and she is pretty much usually horrendous. She's up to 17lb9 now, babbling, and pulling up, crawling, taking some steps with her walker ... Where's my baby went??

cupcakes that is scary. I've had to turn c upside down and whack her a couple of times as she gets over enthusiastic greedy and tries to swallow things whole, or takes too big chunks. It is hard, but I think personally the best thing is to go back to the blw ASAP - don't let the fear get you!

Pascha · 28/08/2013 10:46

We have forward motion! Commando, but forward nonetheless Grin

Bunty glad DS is getting better. There's a good chance Cameron has the pox though isn't there? Can't believe she's trying to walk! The earliest walker I know was a little boy at playgroup last year who was running at 10 months old Shock. There are also boy/girl twins there now 20 months, boy has been walking since february, girl still bum-shuffles everywhere. Nothing wrong, all their siblings were late walkers too, in fact boy is early for them.

DS won't get check til a year old here. DS1's was at 13 months. Think I might get Daniel weighed soon though, I last did it at 12 weeks old when the HV called in at home.

OP posts:
Pascha · 28/08/2013 10:49

Lost I had that last weekend, but DS1 stepped in to oblige on the train so I didn't have to pump Grin.

Now then, my thoughts are starting to turn to christmas presents and first birthday as its only 2 weeks after. Has anyone any really great ideas?
