Vvv exciting sophia .

I'm not a little jealous :o

ChasingDaisy · 06/08/2013 16:06

I think it was pig who mentioned to me a while ago about the stages of grief being relevant in a relationship breakup. I think I am starting to reach the acceptance stage. It comes with a deep feeling of sadness but also calm. I realised yesterday when I wanted to text XP about something trivial (the new Doctor Who) because he is the person I would usually chat to about it, but stopped myself because I knew he wasn't in my life in that way anymore. I feel like I have emotionally distanced myself from him now.

I did want to slip the cute guy today my number, but I am not that brazen.

Passmethecrisps · 06/08/2013 16:45

pikz is in the Netherlands I think.

Donnadoon · 06/08/2013 16:46

GT Ive gotta say that I love your little updates, I love the way you call him FH, And I love the way you tolerate your MIL, It is funny, Although not for you I guess, sorry :) :) :)

ValiumQueen · 06/08/2013 17:14

Not caught up properly, but:

Chasing, the ads are very good, but I do have a thumping headache most of the time, and have days when my anxiety is worse. I feel I am making good progress though and can mostly sleep when given the opportunity. Ironically last night J slept but I barely did as I was worried he was so quiet. Silly mummy Smile

Penny I am not much of an expert on Maclarens, I just know that they are good quality. I have a Techno Classic, second hand, and about 7 years old. It is wonderful and light yet feels very sturdy. Very easy to steer whilst holding a small child, easy to fold etc. I advise go in a shop to see the different versions as there are many, then try Winstanleys Pram World website as they often have great deals on them.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/08/2013 17:31

Anyone else's baby starting to wave? Does your baby's wave look like the salute of those dictatorship armies ie Nazis or North Koreans?

GTbaby · 06/08/2013 17:39

Pr. LO is clapping not waving. But he is grinding his teeth! It's horrible. How do I Mk him stopSad

GTbaby · 06/08/2013 17:39

And thanks Donna Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 06/08/2013 17:41

I have a big bulky Peg Perego pram for long walks from the house, second or even third hand. It's good off road, but LO prefers the umbrella buggy now...

The umbrella buggy is for when we go to town or to the UK. Zero suspension so not good off road. It cost about 20 quid new. This will be LO's last pram. A friend has already reserved it for if and when as it will be easy to use in Paris.

I was also given a baby and toddler buggy thing which I have never used, as DD1 decided as soon as LO was born that she was too big for buggy. I'm going to take it to the tip with the first one in a month or so and hopefully someone will pick them up and get some use out of them.

I have a back pack carrier thing too for long or walks which are unsuitable for prams. DD1 loved it but LO is very unsure hates it

I'm loving getting rid of stuff little by little. As I said two of the prams are going soon. In about 4-6 months will get rid of the play pen and the high chair, as LO will move on to the booster chair that DD1 refuses to use...

I'm so enjoying imagining the space free up.. It's going to be so nice not to have so much clutter.

Pikz · 06/08/2013 17:42

Correct missus pass I am in texel a northern island in the Netherlands. Two more days til home time. I always knew it would be hard with dp jumping as its all consuming which leaves me a bit out on a limb!

PR yes!!!!! He looks a little like that!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 06/08/2013 17:42

Don't know re the teeth... No clapping here yet, but to be fair it's not something I do very much so I guess she'll learn that at nursery.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/08/2013 17:43

Is it a nice area? We're not going to the UK next year so will be looking for something not too far away and the Netherlands is just a few hours away. I like the idea of being on an island.

Pikz · 06/08/2013 17:49

Pr very nice if you like walking cycling and beaches. It's really pretty and is lovely. I have walked at least 6-8miles a day with the buggy.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/08/2013 18:22

Sounds perfect. Will you pm me details? Thanks vv much. Not sure will persuade DH to go to Holland though he has a couple of Dutch colleagues with whom he doesn't get on.

GT J is through the teeth grinding phase. They do it because they can. Best just ignore it. If he gets attention when he does it he may continue for further attention. J has been clapping for some time but does not wave properly yet. I think he is going to crawl before he sits properly. Whenever we practice sitting he lunges onto the floor and starts rolling. Today he has learned how to get up on all fours. Pretty good going considering he is not well.

Daddy and the girls went down south today. The novelty of peace and quiet had worn off by lunch time. It is however lovely having quality time with J, and he has had a lot more sleep today as there is nobody to distract or wake him.

ValiumQueen · 06/08/2013 18:48

To start them clapping give them low 5s and they will start practicing on their own, and soon realise they have two hands to do this wonderful thing. We always clap when he has finished a meal (hollow laugh) or taken his medicine, and he has started doing it at those times too.

ValiumQueen · 06/08/2013 18:49

GT I highly recommend the Mountain Buggy Terrain and have one for sale too

ChasingDaisy · 06/08/2013 18:55

Any calpol administering tips? I almost just choked the poor boy and he didn't take the rest of his bedtime bottle Sad

PetiteRaleuse · 06/08/2013 18:55

Down south? I suppose it is for you :o Do try and enjoy the break even if you are sure to miss them.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/08/2013 18:57

chasing i will pop a packet of calpol supositaries in the parcel if it doesn't gross you out. Much easier to administer, works faster and sure of the dosage. V cheap here. Let me know.

ChasingDaisy · 06/08/2013 18:59

PR consider me grossed out Grin

Dinner was half a bagel. Oscar ate half of my lunch. I'm bloody starving. And very irritable.

ValiumQueen · 06/08/2013 19:06

Up the arse is the way to go Grin
