Morning everyone dd is in an isofix from halfords £89 no idea of brand though, DH bought it and its ace, proper sturdy and snug.
Got my 1st midwife appointment this morning because I'm 10 weeks, it's going to be very weird walking into that room with dd in pushchair, got no choice but to take her, but I can't believe she is going to be a big sister!
She is only a little dot herself!

Much better thanks pikz a bit bruised still I will stay of work till we'd or thurs I think, but think I'm recovering quite well, prob thanks to,lads of rest over the weekend. DH will be back at work today but I have a friend coming in and then tomorrow the boys will be in nursery so I an have a v quiet day.

Hugs for fatima and pr sounds like you both had stressful nights. perhaps pass could whizz up a superior coffee in her fancy coffee maker?

Pass is that the insert for the pushchair part of the vista? If so, then we are using it. It seems more comfortable, so we haven't taken it out.

morning all. qq, e was sick at 4am and had a really runny dirty nappy then one like water at 4 but no temp (it's a bit low actually) but he drank his bottle fine just now (he woke late) and seems totally fine. do I just see how he is?

as for the nature of the fred, e still has no teefs! also going to look at car seats at Halfords I think. I'm not keen on ours and I've no idea how good it is, it's a babyweavers thing from kiddi care.

Thanks everyone! I did manage some sleep but could have done with more. Sorry for the whingey nature of my middle of the night post, just sometimes feel like I'm losing it in the early hours.
pass I think it was you that sympathised before when I was going through the 4 months sleep regression and feeling ill with it. It really does feel horrible but I find it hard to explain. I kept nudging DH for making too much noise snoring but he wasn't even snoring, it was sleep blending in to wake making me feel a bit out of it.
pr seems like you we're suffering from similar shite sleep hugs from me

M woke again at 5, so only 3 hours again. I left her though, well I was too tired to get up. But she must have self-settled. She then woke at half 6 so DH got her, she fed and fell asleep and we had to wake her to put her in the car. She's now at MIL, starting to get her used to being without me before I go back to work. She's only there till lunch though but gives me time to do some jobs and enjoy a brew in peace and catch up on the thread

Does anyone have any advice for sleep training? I've told Dh he's going to have to have some sleepless nights to help me because it's making me feel ill.
I go back to work three weeks today so could really do with her going to bed at a descent time and hopefully just one wake up before then, ha ha fat chance. We're going camping on Thursday-Sunday so is it worth trying anything before then?

Car seat wise, M is still in her cabriofix and at only 8kg, will be for a while. I think we'll get to at least one with it, if not 15 months. Then possibly ERF, I quite like the new maxi cosi ERF or the britax one that's coming out but don't know how far our budget will stretch. If not it will be something isofix and maxi cosi probably.
She has a Britax First Class for MILs car although it hasn't been used yet.

Quick post.... kyz I'd just see how he is. With no temp or loss of appetite its likely just to be an odd sickness that babies do occasionally. If he doesn't do it again I wouldn't worry x

kyz agree with eliza, as long as he is drinking and is hydrated and seems himself don't worry, though is really runny nappies continue for over 24 hours a quick trip to the dr.

fatima ( disclaimer all my children are loosely Gina Forded) I always find if you can sort out the days then the nights follow. We had a wobble last week with O he wasn't settling at night so I reviewed where I was in his routines. He is now going down for a morning nap at 09:00- 9:45 lunch at 11:30 -12:00 then bed for 2 hours at the most, up milk, tea at 5 milk at 6:30 and then bed. No afternoon nap after the lunch time one. This is sometimes quite hard to achieve as he gets a bit grumpy late afternoon but we just entertain him or give him a small snack. Once he is sleeping longer in the morning it should level out but it has sorted his settling at night, pretty much straightaway. Xx

Went down at 6:50. Quick resettle at 8. Woke at 12:15, dp did 15 then he slept restlessly for 10 then i got him down in 10, so 1am. Quick resettle at 2. Woke at 3:50 and needed water, nappy change - first dirty one at night in months - teething gel and calpol to be back down at 5. Woke at 6:40 so a lie in!

Apart from the big 3:50 one, he shouted but wasn't upset iykwim. No rooting etc so i think he wakes and is pissed off not to be asleep. But shoving the dummy in and cuddling seems enough for now!

If anyone is looking for a play tunnel then I heartily recommend the ikea one. We had others that broke in minutes, but this one is indestructible even having been used in the garden and left out in a storm.

Kyz my biggest recommendation for a car seat is make sure you get one that reclines. Then when they fall asleep in the car they can lie back a bit. With DS1 I got one of those 9 months to 12 year car seats and when he fell asleep in it he ended up slumped forward against the straps with his head lolling around which didn't look very comfortable. Also when he was four he asked for a 'big boy car seat' so we ended up getting a booster and not using the big car seat for the whole time anyway.

Sleep has been pretty awful here too, J was up for three feeds last night which seems totally unnecessary. He's 8.5 months and 20 lb, I really think he should be able to go longer than 2.5 hours at night now. I'm doing as Sophia suggests, working on the daytime naps (I put him down at 9ish and 12ish and let him sleep as long as he wants) in the hope that he nights will sort themselves out. I'm undecided whether the dream feed actually makes his sleep worse or doesn't make any difference. I'm certainly not convinced it's helping at all. Where I'm having more trouble is with his milk feeds. Sometimes I get the feeling I'm annoying him by feeding him when what he really wants is to go to sleep. And messing around with the gaviscon is a bit of a pain as well as sometimes he drinks the gaviscon but then refuses the breast. My mum keeps going on about switching him to formula but he doesn't really seem to like formula at all. It would make it easier to give him his meds and vitamins though and I would be able to eat eggs again.

Stunt I wonder if it is time to swap to ff too. I think it would help on many levels and he would drink it if no other option. Would he be able to have regular formula or would he need Nutrimigen type formula? I think you need the chance to rest, and not bfing would give you more physical resources, plus it would help identify the allergens, exclude them more effectively, and help with the treatment of reflux.

As of next year children over 4 will needs high back booster. The seat-only units will no longer be sold or legal. Backs will be available to buy for some seats like graco. I think if there is no room for the back, like if there are two other seats in the car already, then that is ok to have just the seat bit.

How do people manage with three car seats? We have two and there is no space for a passenger between them, though I managed to wedge myself in there once, I wasn't able to put on a seat belt. There would definitely be no space for a 3rd seat.

I also agree its best to sort daytime naps first, and stunt I think I'd seriously consider ff in your situation too. I'm all for breast feeding but wouldn't manage as you have on little sleep etc :(

vq I finish on 9 th Aug. do you tank it is too early? DH thinks I should take all of this week off ie Tues Wed Thurs. I had said to my boss I would take each day as it comes and not commit to anything for this week. So I was going to decide at the end of each day. The bruising has come out now and it looks a bit vom.

pr is imposs with three seats. As both the girls were just in regular booster I swapped one of them for a bubble bum which is narrower for when we have three seats in the back of the car. Or get a new car!

pr I guess it depends what car you have. I can fit a passenger in the middle at the back but I doubt I could fit another car seat there. So I guess if I were to have a third I'd need a new car. I nearly bought a car with 7 seats and I wish I had now as I could go on trips out with my sis and niece but never mind. My sis can drive, she's just a bit nervy about it.

Really VQ? I thought they were being phased in more gradually than that so it was only children that were 4 that would be affected. I wonder how that will affect my DS2 who is 7. We have two high back boosters but they are more than six years old however DS2 would be strapped in using the car seat belt so in the event of an accident there wouldn't be the issue of the straps potentially breaking through the plastic. DS1 is creeping ever closer to 135 cm so hopefully he won't need to be in a car seat much longer.

I had to buy a bigger car PR! My S-Max comfortably fits three full size car seats in the middle row which was the main reason for getting it. Plus there's a spare seat for DC4 if that ever happens!

I'm actually fine with continuing to bf indefinitely but I am under pressure from DM and DH other people and that insidious question: So how long are you planning to bf for? At the start I was aiming for 6 months exclusively bf, to at least one year with mixed feeding and stopping completely around 18 months. DS1 and DS2 lost interest self-weaned at 8 and 9 months respectively so I think it's best to be led by J. I am considering trying to introduce a bottle of formula each day but that would be more for helping with the sleeping issues by making sure J can have a substantial bedtime feed and I can have than for my own sake. If J seemed to like formula then it would be different but he'll only reluctantly take an ounce or two.

PR you just need to buy a bigger car. We have a Touran and we have two huge maxi Cosi seats by the doors and a high back booster in the middle. Thankfully DD1 is a little waif so can squeeze through. I would not fancy the chances of an adult getting in there. We have two seats in the boot but if up then there is no room for a pushchair. Useful for emergencies though.

Sophia I think it is too soon. I thought it was 2 weeks recovery. What did they advise you? I guess they didn't. People think it is a little op but it is actually quite a significant one and you need to heal properly. Not just the skin but the bits inside. You do not want adhesions or internal bleeding x
