Yay for sleeping through pr

N has 2 naps; 10-12ish and sometime around 3.30 for about 30 mins. She wakes at 6 and has breakfast soon after. She still has a bottle in the night though, and it is usually around 4, hence going straight for breakfast when she wakes.

detective I'm impressed that you didn't take their heads off say anything - you must have wanted to shoot them, silly cows.

All good here. DD1 had a low iron count. They want to do repeat bloods to check it wasn't a one off and if its still low then a paeds referral - but nothing to drastic which is a relief.

GTbaby · 02/08/2013 21:28

Pr. I have no idea what my reasons are. But there are some. Lol

Donna! Congrats! How far along r u?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/08/2013 21:30

Everybody watch doc Martin, right now on itv. Is quite a good, for a trashy comedy, portrayal of life with a baby.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/08/2013 21:48

Apart from the fact she looks gorgeous of course.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/08/2013 21:48

Not that any of you don't of course.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/08/2013 21:49

Ok. Cut my losses. Put away Wine . Go an snuggle up with my sleeping DH.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/08/2013 22:09

:o sophia

i'm in the awkward position of two glasses of wine (wasp free) not being enough to send me to sleep but being too much for me to pop a pill. I'd drink more but would be hungover.

So another long night ahead I think :(

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/08/2013 22:11

kirrin That's great news. So pleased.

GT Grrrr. How annoying. I am with you and not precious about what E eats much but if she's going to eat crap I want it done on my terms.

fruits Wooooo how exciting.

madame Sorry you are having a shit time but you are by no means a shit mum. Hugs.

Can't remember what else I was going to say but I know there is a lot of Wine going round the quiche at the moment so I'll just partake in some myself.

Had a lovely afternoon at a friends house with a group that I met whilst doing pregnancy pilates with DD1. We are all on our 2nd babies now. We don't get together that often now but it's so lovely when we do. I'm so glad we kept in touch. I'm very lucky with my group of kiddie friends. They're all lovely. One of the babies had to have surgery for reflux. I can't remember what the procedure was called but he had it at great ormond st hospital. The poor mum went through hell before he had the surgery (and baby of course). I bet she would have been angry as hell about those women detective. What knobs.

YellowWellies · 02/08/2013 23:08

Det Tesco value wholemeal is about the only dairy and soy free bread. I think Waitrose do a couple too but they're not local so I don't know off by heart. Warburtons (my very favourite - I hate brown bread) contains soy as does Hovis (which I think also may contain dairy traces). We tend to use those New York bagel company bagels instead of sliced bread as they're dairy and soy free. A lot of part baked Petit pan are safe. But a dairy and soy free white sandwich bread - doesn't exist to the best of my knowledge. The dairy, gluten, wheat free freaky eaters breads are minging - they have the texture of a house brick.

As for those biatches Shock Shock Shock now I wouldn't wish a reflux baby on anyone but my god they deserve one for a few bad nights. I'm sure folks roll their eyes at me when Jonas is being particularly vocal or histrionic about something I've eaten - that they think he's just a difficult baby, but he really is such a happy soul when it's well managed - I hate to think of his undiagnosed contemporaries being told off, sleep trained or ignored for being 'naughty'.

Kyz · 02/08/2013 23:12

Evening all :) gosh you've been chatting today! MIL has e so I'm having a drink and watching a film come on here to post at you lot boy I miss him, but she hasn't seen him for a few weeks and wanted him overnight so I said yes. Feel quite bad giving him away for the night when I don't 'need' to for any reason. I am enjoying the drink though!

fruit can I ask how you switched S over? I am sure e doesn't need AR formula anymore but I'm not sure how to make sure/what to do with him with regards to swapping him over. Also, yay for kisses! Aand FC for a pic in the morning, how lovely!

evil I'm so glad you've finally got a diagnosis!! Hope it helps to get N properly treated :)

Hi clarella :) sounds like he is getting there with his solids, even if its hit and miss! E can still be hit and miss, some days he will eat lots and other days not very much at all. He doesn't often eat breakfast but then has a day where he eats half a weetabix, an organix pot and some fruit for breakfast, about 200g and finger food for lunch then about 300g and pudding and finger food for tea, plus 24oz milk. The solids he'll take can really vary but not so long back he would sometimes completely refuse anything. Now he usually eats a little bit even if not much. Hopefully your ds will do the same :) I hope the ad's help and hopefully with you seeing things moving forward with the easier settles etc, he will start to have better nights :)

Hope you have an ok night lily after today

I agree all, today is a wine day I've had a good day I just never get wine

Busy day bryz or bad sleep?

gt I wouldn't be pissed off about lo having a crisp or two but I'd be proper fucked off with someone giving them without my permission or worse still, if I'd said no.

det those two women would really rile me too, people just don't understand or take time to think before they fucking judge and speak sometimes!!! Yay re: mil sounds like she's taking it all on board!

Ahh stunt 'twas an accident, hope the nights aren't too bad as a result

madame don't worry about a you centred post at all! Would a dehumidifier work at all? You're not a crap mum at all :( and you're not being paranoid either, you know s best and if he's still not right which it certainly sounds like he isn't, but hopefully the cough is just a cough like pr says. Have some hugs, sounds like you need a few even if just for surviving despite being hugely busy!!

kirrin what a relief!!

Glad you had a good afternoon Eliza and wow, that lo's reflux must've been really really severe!

TheDetective · 02/08/2013 23:13

Oh fuck. I've been giving O soy then... he has Warburtons wholemeal... off to check......

TheDetective · 02/08/2013 23:19

Oh FFS! It does! I really don't understand how I have missed though, because I did check carefully when I first gave him toast. Confused (very!)

Now I don't know if he has reacted or not because I don't remember the last time he had it! He's had it a couple of times, maybe 4?

Maybe that will be our first proper! soy experiment then.

I'm reading up about soya, and there is no information about what age to give it.

I'm trying to remember how he was when he had it now - one of the times I remember because he had it with egg. Another time he had it with fruit puree. I don't remember... fecksake.

TheDetective · 02/08/2013 23:20

Should I just give him some toast tomorrow, and observe? :)

ValiumQueen · 03/08/2013 03:10

Hello again quiche.

Second night in a row, although tonight it is J who is poorly. DD2 is unsettled but just about asleep.

J woke screaming at 1.30 after settling with difficulty at 11.30. Copious snot, no fever but clearly very sore. Inconsolable for an hour, then vomited all over me and seemed to calm down considerably. He is now asleep in his chair, but sobbing intermittently.

DH came downstairs about 10 mins after he woke, and immediately went to pick him up out of his chair. I told him not to as I had put him in it for a reason, and DH stormed out. I shouted him back and told him to fucking grow up and communicate with me. He looked like thunder, but did listen to me. After a while I sent him back to bed, but he instead made me a coffee and sterilised the bottles. Without being asked to Smile There is hope for him yet Grin

Js vomit was very very mucousy.

ValiumQueen · 03/08/2013 03:14

J has been having soy in bread for some time now. He seems fine on it, and seems fine on soy yoghurt too. I do not give this often, but J eats so little I struggle to find stuff he will accept.

Right fellow refluxers, I have been told to give the omeprazole once a day in the morning. Should I try this for a few days, and split dose if he is not right still, or just go ahead and split the dose from day one?

ValiumQueen · 03/08/2013 06:25

Gooooooood Moooooooorniiiiiiing!

Hope folk slept better than me. I think even Izzy may have had a better night than me.

Lily311 · 03/08/2013 06:38

Morning there,

We had a good night, after all the whining yesterday. She slept till 6 which is awesome. My brother kept texting me at 3 in the morning so not so good night for me.

det it's awful. Being part of this quiche makes me appreciate of my easy girl but also makes me aware of how hard others get it.

We are off to my parents today, I'm hoping we get to the swimming pool. Tomorrow it's my nephew's birthday so going to see them.busy busy busy.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/08/2013 07:01

Oh dear vq are you still burning the midnight oil. Brew here you are and a piece of toast. It can on,y be good for them to vom up all that mucous when they have a cold as they can't manage it like us, albeit a bit stressful for us them Xx

det just thick, is all I can say.

Well, the excitement begins, I now have two bids on my donkey and it has met the reserve. It doesn't finish until late this afternoon so I am quite excited to see what it goes for now. There are 66 watchers Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 03/08/2013 07:15

Brew vq if it's any comfort we had a bad night too. We were all woken at 3 by a huge storm which went on for two hours. LO was scared, DD1 was excited. Ihaven't slept since.

I forgot I was supposed to go for blood tests this morning and already ate and drank. Oh well, can wait til next weekend. DH has to drive me I go funny after needles.

PurplePidjin · 03/08/2013 07:18

7:15-4:45, 5:15-6

Legen...

Wait for it...

Wait for it...

Dary!!!

:o:o:o:o:o

I have hope!

Passmethecrisps · 03/08/2013 07:21

Morning!

VQ I have always given p her dose in a oner in the morning. It sounds like you night was completely horrendous. I am glad that DH at least made you a coffee

I use sainsbury's bakers bread. I spoke to the baker in store who said they don't advise if for dairy allergy due to the fact that there is milk and butter kicking about but it doesn't have dairy or soy actually in it. P seems fine with it as she has it every single morning.

I am going to give p another spoon of soy yogurt this morning.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/08/2013 07:28

So pass all good so far on the soy then?

Great job pp you must feel EPIC

Passmethecrisps · 03/08/2013 07:32

Sounds great Pp!

Well, sophia, it's pretty clear p didn't have a major reaction as she was happy as larry all day. There was the short nap but I think that was simply due to a longer morning nap. She didn't seem upset or in discomfort. Like VQ p doesn't take much so I am keen to rule back in as much as possible.

TheDetective · 03/08/2013 07:42

O slept til after 6. He was doing the wake/sleep/wake thing he seems to do when he's slept through til 6.50.

Fed, put back in cot and he is still playing happily now so I am star fishing in bed since DP is at work Grin.

Sorry to hear of the shit night VQ. Glad to hear DH pulled his socks up though!

Go mini Pidg!

Sophia fingers crossed for a good price! :)

StuntNun · 03/08/2013 07:42

I know what you mean YW, my J is a completely different person when his system is free of eggs, and I don't mean just in terms of sleep. He sits between DS1 and DS2 in the back of the car and you should have heard the giggles yesterday when we were on our way home from Tesco. They were making funny noises to him and he was chuckling away and it was just the best noise ever.

After my stupid fuck up with the meringue yesterday he has been screaming in pain and whimpering in his sleep last night. And then he wants to feed to ease his poor tummy but I'm worried that makes things even worse. I asked DH to give J a bottle of formula but DH thought the comfort of the boob was more important than the egg content of the milk iykwim. Still it was only one 30g cake so hopefully it won't be long before he recovers. I think the problem is I usually make all my own food so I know what's in in but then someone hands round a plate of food and I take something just out of habit or to be polite.

I hope your night wasn't too bad VQ, it sounds like they're ganging up on you.

I feel sorry for the woman that was posting her woes on Facebook and being ignored Detective, she's probably desperately hoping for sympathy, some help, advice and instead she's getting slagged off by her friends?
