Does anyone else's baby do this? In the morning if O has slept past 5 he wakes and cries, but then just as you think you should get up as he isn't self settling, all goes quiet and they go back to sleep for 5-10 mins before repeating the cycle a few times?

I thought it was just me falling back asleep and felt guilty as I thought he must still be crying. But he isn't. He's definitely in and out of sleep for a little while!

Passmethecrisps · 03/08/2013 07:50

Is he maybe just lying chilled out? P sometimes just lies quietly for a few minutes at a time. She is maybe dozing lightly but when I go through she is always awake but just sort of day dreaming. Either that or she is sooking on some poor toy

Passmethecrisps · 03/08/2013 07:57

I hope J recovers soon stunt. I would be the same if someone offers round food.

YellowWellies · 03/08/2013 08:13

Pass awesome news on the soy - it's very dose dependent so build gradually. Some seem fine for a bit then about 6 weeks onto a new food - react. Not trying to piss on any bonfires and I know you're not suddenly going to bathe her in Alpro - it's just I was a bit gutted when he was fine at first on soy then reacted to a Chinese. He seems now to handle our weekly takeaway but not me nomming sushi as well in a week - that seems too much but I plan to keep increasing the amount he's exposed to.

As for omeperazole dosing - we were told give in an evening if reflux is affecting sleep, in a morning if they're showing food aversions and split it if they're having ishoos with both. Jonas only has omeperazole now so I don't mind splitting it.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/08/2013 08:32

det O does that. We try to leave him for as long as it is a grumble. I am trying to get a balance between him learning we won't go for the slightest noise and that lying in bed waking up is good and him feeling secure that we tend to his needs and are there for him.

On writing that I think that is the balance we will try to strike for the rest of their lives. Hmm

fruitpastilles · 03/08/2013 08:37

kyz I just tried her with a carton of ready made and she was fine with it, I've been wanting to try her on it for ages, just to make it easier when out and about, she hadn't seemed ready to come off it until now though. I think you will know when E doesn't need it any more, if you say he doesn't seem to need to be on it any more then you're probably right.

vq I can't believe you have had yet another bad night, they need to fuck the fuck off from Valium castle now! At least dh used his initiative. I'm still trying to find my dp's.

sophia 66 watchers?! Wow! Fc it sells for more than you expected.

Well I didn't wake to a baby pic, I was most disappointed!
I had a bad night with S, she done 6:30-11 and just kept waking every 30 mins or so unless I was with her, I ended up sleeping on her floor from about 3 and then she went till 6.

Passmethecrisps · 03/08/2013 08:48

Nope - you are quite right YW! I gave her a small spoon again this morning and will leave it at that. I just wanted to exclude the possibility of a sudden reaction. I can't see soy becoming a major part of her diet but I wanted to know if we at least had the option or whether to panic when granny inevitably gives her soy custard

TheDetective · 03/08/2013 08:51

I peeked in a few times watching him, he's definitely sleeping! In some bizarre position! I had to check because I thought I was going mad der!.

Yes Sophia that's what I try and do. I'm hoping he will learn to self settle more consistently! And to encourage some independence. It's already helping day to day as he can play happily for an hour with his toys with no need for interaction to keep him happy! It depends on the reflux though as some days he is only happy clamped to my leg Grin.

O is on top form today! Being a funny little thing! I went to the kitchen to make his breakfast and came back in the living room to find him stood up holding on to the legs on the back of the high hair. Only he was squatting using the poles to support his weight while he had a poo!

BigPigLittlePig · 03/08/2013 08:56

Morning all. Impromptu long day at work yesterday to earn some extra pennies, was sad not to see my baby until this morning though.

Loving the idea of the ideal quichette - had no idea I have a long and slender neck . Can the quichette have pidjs vvvdps hair, coz it is fabbo?

Pass I hope Ps soya challenge went okay.

VQ hope the valium princesses are better soon, I thought illness might have finally disappeared Sad

Evil glad N has a proper diagnosis. I hope your p will shut up and listen now, instead of being a nob about the whole thing. Is N vomming less?

Gutted that I appear to have missed the liberal quantities of booze being passed around last night! Still, not sure I could handle a hangover just yet?

MILs?.yes. Well. F went to MIL yesterday morning as usual. I gave her a bottle when we got there (8am), and there was about 2oz left. Full bottle in her cool bag for mid morning. MIL knows this. When dh collected F at 1, there was still a full bottle, which dh was a bit Hmm about - turns out that MIL had reheated the 2oz and given her that instead . And when F refused her lunch as she was overtired, MIL gave her a biscuit. Luckily she didn?t eat it, but who knows if it was safe or not. Hey ho. No ill effects today, and dh has educated her.

Det I would have been beyond Angry at mouthy mums. Well done on restraining yourself though! We use one of the seed sensations breads, most of the plain white/brown/wholemeal ones seem to have milk/soya in. Weirdly, the Tesco value wholemeal that pass gets on with, has soya flour here. I would check the local shops to be on the safe side. F struggled with bagels because she found the outside a bit tough to get through. Could the bread he?s been having have been part of the problem with his unsettled sleep?

Madam - sounds really tough lately, with work and S not being well. No bright ideas I?m afraid, I wish I knew more about skidlets so I could suggest something.

Fruit exciting re: baby boy. Bet he?s spoiled rotten!

PR glad you had some better sleep. Bit grim re: the wasp incident though.

Woohoo pidj on sleep! I knew he could do it!!

Think that?s everyone?.

TheDetective · 03/08/2013 09:03

BP good job DH picked her up then, so he could do the dirty work!!!

I don't think it is as he has rarely had toast. I can remember about 4 occasions so not enough to blame for it all Grin.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/08/2013 09:07

Challenge for the day ... You know all that funny washing at the bottom of the washing basket? Well. My task is to clear every sign gel basket, including the festering stuff! Grin

ValiumQueen · 03/08/2013 09:07

The night wasn't too bad. I think it helps if you know why they are up. The snot-covered face was a dead giveaway and once I knew there was no fever, I could cope with the hour long screamathon. DH also dealt with DD2 mostly, so he really did make an effort. I think telling him to grow up helped. I have never been brave enough to before, but I channeled my inner quiche. He would never be violent, but he has mega strops and has a tendency to kick things and slam doors. Like a spoilt child. He will need a nap and an early night though Grin

Both kiddies look really quite well today.

Thank you for the meds advice. I think I will split the dose as he has issues around the clock, and is likely to puke too.

ValiumQueen · 03/08/2013 09:11

BP that really is not good about the milk and biscuit. I hope there are no ill effects from it.

Good luck with your task Sophia. Hope you do not find anything to frightening.

ChasingDaisy · 03/08/2013 09:33

Morning all,

7-6.15 here.

O off to his dad's today so I am off shopping by myself for the day. Going to pick up my new specs and buy some clothes that I can't afford to make myself feel better. That's what credit cards are for right?

PetiteRaleuse · 03/08/2013 09:38

I think LO has a problem with one of her ears. Has scratched it inside til bleeding and won't have her morning nap. Hope it's just a mosquito or spider bite.

BigPigLittlePig · 03/08/2013 11:03

Chasing enjoy! Can't wait to have a bit of spare cash to treat myself. Sadly the credit card is at its limit

Forgot to say, dh had a total nightmare yeesterday with both girls at bedtime. They were both still up when I got home at 9.45. He was nearly in tears. Within 5 minutes, I had them both in bed asleep [smug]. F slept 10-7.20, and is now 1.5 hours into a mega nap this morning Grin

Homemade bread is currently cooking in my mums breadmaker, which I unashamedly nabbed. Exciting! Hope it is scrummy, and not akin to a building block.

Sophia good luck. My poor mother had to deal with that sort of stuff when F was born - I hadn't done laundry for about 3 weeks in the run up to moving house. There must have been all manner of delights. I try not to dwell on it! Blush

ChasingDaisy · 03/08/2013 12:07

So I'm having coffee and cake in Waterstones Costa all by myself like a proper independent laydee. Would never have dreamed of lunching solo before. Just another way I have changed.

TheDetective · 03/08/2013 12:25

Good for you chasing ! It's one of the things I did when I was single too, in order to meet people Grin also going to a bar, alone! People thought I was crazy, but I wasn't! Method to the madness :)

O has just woken from a 3 hour nap Shock and so have I! how lovely! Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/08/2013 13:10

Great chasing that is the life!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/08/2013 13:11

I too hope your bread is scummy bp makes me excited to get my bread make out of storage after the move!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 03/08/2013 13:11

That lovely feeling when you have just had your legs waxed.

ditsygem · 03/08/2013 13:38

Det most of the teso finest range of breads are Dairy and Soy free. Different tesco's seem to stock different sorts. ours is a wholemeal multigrain or something like that. worth checking the loaves at your local tesco.

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 03/08/2013 13:48

Chasing - that to me is a real indulgence, leisurely drink on own! Enjoy!

Car is fixed without too much £££ and nice garage stumbled across too.

ChasingDaisy · 03/08/2013 14:33

I spotted dairy free ice cream in Sainsbos today and thought of the quiche.

I had one last splurge on my credit card and bought some lovely clothes from Gap plus a couple of cute things for the flat. Saturdays are still hard but I am determined to make the most of them.

Kyz · 03/08/2013 14:41

Afternoon :)

Sorry you had such a shitty night vq but I'm pleased your dh is helping out a bit now :) Brew for the other bad nights :( I'm told e slept 7-6:40, I slept 12-30-9am! Did wake at 6:45 as that is my pre programmed morning time apparently but once I remembered I didn't need to do e's bottle and he was elsewhere I went back off.

Hope it goes for a good price sophia :)

Woohoo for a good night pp :)

Glad for no reaction so far pass hopefully you'll be able to increase the amount she can tolerate and it will be all good :)

Bless him stunt hope he's right again soon

fruit I have bought a ready made carton earlier to try. Do you think this sounds like a good plan? Tomorrow with breakfast was going to give him some in his sippy cup and see what he does as a reaction and then try giving him the lunchtime bottle as normal formula? If I try at bedtime and it doesn't work or he won't drink it that'll be no good and I run risk of pissing him off if he doesn't like it and I've tried the bottle first thing. Do you think that sounds ok? If he takes it ok at lunch do I then give it at bed time or do the anti reflux at bedtime still for a bit? :s I hope he takes to it and doesn't have probs. I just thought if I try it after lunch and he doesn't want it/much he will have had a meal of solids so I won't fret then either. Other than clear stuff the other night e doesn't vom ever, hasn't had any problem with solids or refluxy seeming episodes since about 4 months I think.

LOL at o det

bplp how annoying, glad she didn't eat the biscuit though :)

pr hope lo is ok, bless her

chasing go you!! Amazing :) could never do something like that!

Glad the car is sorted madame
