My brother married the only mixed race girl in the city. My nephew has amazing skin and hair and they always get stared at. My sil's and nephew's names are Nigerian and no one can understand or spell them. There is more diversity in Hungary now than 10 years ago but people still stare and think it is curiosity.

All the talk of dieting and wanting to lose weight makes me sad. I would do anything rl gain weight right now. Being thin isn't all it is cracked up to be.

I was worried about O not looking like me when I was pregnant and it affecting bonding. But unless you know he is half Chinese I don't think you can see it.

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/07/2013 22:03

Evening all, glad to read of good nights for stunt and of the quiche meet. Loved the photo.

QQ: I took an antihestime tablet as I have an infected insect bite. I then read that it says do not take if BF. I'm not worrying and won't take any more but should I worry?

Evilwater · 30/07/2013 22:04

Nite all. Sleepy dust to all.
Evil

BigPigLittlePig · 30/07/2013 22:05

Chasing I'm with you on that. Operation "fatten the pig" has now begun. I haven't weighed myself in a while, but I know that my bottom half is in a size of clothing I haven't worn since I was about 14 years old. I can count my ribs Sad

ChasingDaisy · 30/07/2013 22:13

Sad pig, horrid isn't it? Do you have a plan? I need a getting fat plan!

BigPigLittlePig · 30/07/2013 22:36

Um. Eat more. Do less.

TBH, the only time I have ever put on weight was when I was drinking lots in the first year at uni. This isn't exactly a sustainable way to put on weight though. I shall try with chocolate, icecream, cheese etc. I don't hold out much hope. I think I need to gain at least 1.5 stone before my clothes start to fit again.

StuntNun · 30/07/2013 22:51

Cheeseburgers Chasing? That's the Hollywood method for gaining weight. Make sure you're eating often enough. Add fat where you can, e.g. butter on potatoes and vegetables. Eat the fat on bacon, pork chops, chicken skin. Eat full fat yoghurt. Drink whole milk. These were all tips we had for DS2 when he dropped off the bottom of the percentile chart. Chances are you aren't eating big enough portions.

Eliza the antihistamine passes into the breast milk but won't do any harm. Antihistamines are famous in the pharmaceutical world for how safe they are.

My experience Chasing is that some people spot you are mixed race a mile off and others won't notice.

Thanks stunt I have started using whole milk in my porridge so that I only need to make one batch for me and O. I snack on nuts etc. I am definitely not eating enough to gain weight. Difficult at the moment as my stepmum cooks all of the meals. She thinks she is fattening me up but they follow WW and have very strict portion sizes etc. They don't even get close to 2000 calories a day but think that they eat a lot Hmm Barely touches the sides for me. Will be easier once I have moved but I do find it incredibly difficult to gain weight. I have done nothing but lose weight since giving birth. Bit worried where it is going to end up.

Speaking of which, I am still giving O baby porridge, is there any reason he can't normal porridge with me?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/07/2013 05:51

chasing normal porridge should be fine, but real oats not the simple ones. Take it nice And slow you don't want to put on too much and get stuck in a rut. My guess is stress has played it's part and it will go on naturally when you move and grow in confidence. I remember the feeling of get me back when I left ex DH is a lovely freeing one.

Morning. DH made it to Holyhead. In my bets they are just pulling into Dublin. I will release breath around lunch time.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/07/2013 05:52

Op I used to wizz apricots into porridge for girls. Was yum.

Pikz · 31/07/2013 06:29

Anyone want a teething baby? Can post from holland?

PetiteRaleuse · 31/07/2013 06:48

It's SWEARY FUCKING WEDNESDAY quiche.

Bollocky bastarding stress inducing twats stopped me sleeping again (erm, not the children) I can't wait to pick up my prescription this afternoon.

Passmethecrisps · 31/07/2013 07:05

Goooooooooood morning.

How are we all this morning? The sun on shining in central jocklandshire.

P is using a woven storage box like a walker and is shoving it across the floor while looking at us and grinning. Every time I try to get a pic she stops doing it.

DH is taking her to the CM this morning where she is being left for a couple of hours. Yikes!

P is a fan of beards. She squeals at men with beards. She will stare at anyone irrespective of colour!

Passmethecrisps · 31/07/2013 07:06

Fucking twatting knobbing bawbags PR. Again, not the children.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/07/2013 07:11

Pisswearing, knobtickling, ginsters pr

Mornings you guys.

Passmethecrisps · 31/07/2013 07:12

Also, re weight gain, I have found that if you watch thin people eat (not that I make a point of doing that you understand) there can be a lot of plate activity but not necessarily eating. So lots of cutting up and moving food around. It can can a deliberate avoidance - I did it when trying to lose weight - or a nervous energy behaviour.

I still like VQ's idea of having a fat donation bank. I could give your ribs a good covering BP and some of my booty pork would make a smashing wee pair of boobs Grin

PurplePidjin · 31/07/2013 07:42

Dp shaved his beard off when R learned to grab. Not many of his long dreads have survived either Hmm

:o 7:15-5:30 with on half hour battle wake up :o

fruitpastilles · 31/07/2013 07:50

Nice name change ticklish

Glad you are ok izzy

S is a starer, she will stare at anyone she has no preference, she's just bet nosy like her mummy I really should try that low carb diet, I've come to the conclusion though that I am far to greedy to do a diet, I never stick to it, so for me exercise is the way forward, I'm starting spin classes next week, and a bums tums and thighs class, well that's if spin hasn't killed me Grin
Well done on your weight loss stunt

We are all ginger here too sophia well, I say ginger, dp is more grey now and I have blonde highlights.

chasing S has normal porridge, well that or weetabix.

No sun here pass it's pissing down, hope P gets on ok at the cm, has she been left there on her own before or has she just been with you? I can't remember.

Shitting cuntybollocks wank stains!

BigPigLittlePig · 31/07/2013 07:52

DH has offered to be a fat donor pass but thanks anyway! No pushing of food around my plate, it must be said, but a good friend who had an eating disorder was certainly guilty of that.

Pidj AMAZING!!!!

7-7 here again. Woke herself up having spun 180 degrees and was headbutting the cot Hmm

PR I hope the motherfucking cunt-nobbing arseweasling tablets work.

fruitpastilles · 31/07/2013 07:54

Please tell me they grow out of the need to pull hair soon?!

Cacacaz · 31/07/2013 07:55

Morning everyone. I have decided that I must try to post more instead of lurking.

We had a lovely morning, yesterday, at the Jockland meet up.

pass I hope P has a lovely time at the childminders today

vq ouch re childcare. I do think that a nanny might be a cheaper option for you. I would reccommend calling a few agencies, they will be able to give you an idea of cost etc.

pikz I too have a teething baby. At this rate we are going to have shares in calpol.

eliza I have been taking piriton for months now. I was told it was the safest antihistamine during pregnancy and breastfeeding, however if I found it wasn't working I could try some others. I wouldn't worry easier said than done, I know

FatimaLovesBread · 31/07/2013 08:08

eliza antihistamines such as cetirizine and loratadine are fine. I'd almost die without mine, death by hayfever!

ticklish porridge is fine. And the simply original ones are fine, but not the flavoured ones as they're a bit sugary. M has ready brek as it's a bit quicker. Spoon it, stir in milk, 30 secs microwave. But if I was having porridge she'd have that with me.

Fucking woop woop for Ms sleep!!! She did 7-10 (I woke her coming to bed) and then 10:30-5:15am!! Woohoo. Then she had another hour or so til 7am.

I've moved M up a size in babygrows, her 3-6 were too small. But the 6-9 I've put her in is huuuuge

Passmethecrisps · 31/07/2013 08:47

Not suggesting that you have an eating disorder BP!! I hope it didn't read that way? I do have a pal that does this though - she even does fake chewing.

Well, p has departed to CM with DH (and the world's largest changing bag and accompanying instructions!) She has been there for half an hour alone but has spent lots of time with the CM. I will be picking her up at 11am so a nap and a bottle for the cm to manage. Hence I sent DH out the door armed with sleeping bag, Ewan the sheep, about 7 dummies, 10 nappies, spare clothes and so on. I became proper PFB by writing a list of instructions "she likes her milk quite warm, sometimes to the harp on Ewan's right paw . . . "
I am sure she will be fine. I am currently sitting with a coffee wondering what to do with my couple of hours off. Might go and lie on the bed and read. I should really do all the housework I haven't been doing.

Brilliant sleeping PP!
