Hmmm, definitely time to remove the bumper from E's cot!

Found she'd turned a perfect 180 from where she started, though she was still perfectly in the centre of her bed - I'd have thought I'd put her that way if I didn't know better! She still doesn't tend to roll sideways - wish she would do as I think she'd sleep better...

Mumof3xx · 28/09/2013 13:46

Oh god dd is all over her cot wriggling and rolling we didn't bother with a bumper

Mumof3xx · 28/09/2013 13:47

I have some tesco tethers, 3 for about £2 and dd is happy with them so I may give Sophie a miss lol

5 am wake up

birdbrain21 · 28/09/2013 22:00

baby bird has a few teethers but her favourite is definately mine or DH finger!she really chomps hard it hurts Sad. She's had all the signs of teething for a couple of months now but still no sign of teeth...

AmberLav · 29/09/2013 03:38

Fingers are also popular in our house!

E is definitely not so much of a wriggler as A was, despite being very strong. I find it weird how different two babies can be, when they look so similar on the outside!

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 29/09/2013 10:05

Oh yes H loves using knuckles to teeth on and it can be pretty achy!

She is a major wriggler though. Sometimes it's easier to have 2 people get her changed! :)

Mama1980 · 30/09/2013 14:28

I have found putting a cold banana in one of those tommy tipee mesh teethers great for helping Alex.

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 30/09/2013 17:25

Good idea.

Had toast this morning and was quite keen on that!

Plus, trying a bit of steamed carrot tonight with our roast dinner which I'm sure she'll like, as she seems to like carrot in purees before.

How's everyone's LOs getting on with crawling?

birdbrain21 · 30/09/2013 20:06

anyone else not moved their lo out of their room yet? Haven't got round to it as we've been staying in my pil spare room whilst we waited for own place to be ready, but we're hopefully moving into our own place this week and I'm so nervous abou not having her in the same room as me! She still wakes up a few times a night for her dummy does this mean I'm going to spend all night going to her room?!

birdbrain21 · 30/09/2013 20:08

aint she doesn't really crawel yet but wriggles around on her front and has started pushing with her legs to stick her bottom in the air so I suspect it won't be long now Smile

HadALittleFaith · 30/09/2013 20:14

Evening all!

No crawling as such but Faithlet has mastered rolling back to front then front to back in a fluid motion and can be across the room in a matter of minutes Hmm have caught her licking the sofa, swinging chair and skirting board! She can shuffle round in circles too.

BLW going well here. Everything she's offered she's taken. Mashed potato was a big thumbs up! I've started cutting down the breast feeding too. Brought in another bottle at the 11am feed. Basically now she alternates between breast and bottle. Still feeding to sleep which we need to crack.

Faithlet is still in our room bird but I think she's ready to move out. She gets unsettled when we come to bed or if we make noise overnight. Yes you probably will be sticking the dummy back in until she's old enough to pop it back in herself!

AmberLav · 01/10/2013 01:23

E is still in our room for a few more weeks, but she'll be just through the wall once she moves... think we'll all sleep better then!

Hopefully you'll be doing better than my sister on dummies - she was still picking up dummies overnight when my nephew was 3 - there's a good reason why I have avoided dummies with my two!

AmberLav · 01/10/2013 03:20

Hmmm, now I remember why DH is tasked to deal with any waking before 2am, it really helps me actually get any sleep! That full feed I gave her at 1am has had absolutely no impact on how long she lasted asleep, so I barely got any sleep between the two wakings, and chances are she'll be back awake at 5ish...

No idea why I had a soppy moment at 1 and let him sleep... I'll not be doing that again! Rant over!

Mama1980 · 01/10/2013 08:10

We co sleep so Alex won't be going into his room though he does have one Grin
Alex is making lots of crawling movements but doesn't actually go anywhere yet. He woke at 4 this morning and had a breast feed for over a hour then woke ds1 so we got up and have been building towers!

birdbrain21 · 01/10/2013 09:47

I am hoping we'll all sleep better once she's in her own room. I get really cross with DH when she wakes me up in th night even though he's the one who's got to get up for work an I can sleep when she does during the day, at 3am though I don't really seem to register that fact!!! She can get her dummy back in during the day as long as it's within arm reach but can't do it at night...

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 02/10/2013 12:59

H is the same bird she wriggles about and flaps her arms and legs, but no actual crawling yet, but I think in a months time she'll be able to crawl, by the looks of things.

H is co sleeping at the moment, so can't see her going into her own room for a bit. Plus we are at my parents until a suitable house comes up. She like her breast feeds around 4ish in the morning then again at 8 anyway. I think she only has a bit each time to keep her relaxed and asleep longer, as she only seems to take a bit. Except last night, where she was really hungry as only took 4oz before bedtime.

She's had some pretty bad teething as her incisor is coming through on the top right before the other teeth, so she's suffering with that, bless her heart. It means more waking at night and having to give paracetamol once or twice a day at the moment.

Mumof3xx · 02/10/2013 16:02

No actual crawling here. Dd can roll and turn herself in circles, she gets about the room quite a lot! My elder two dc crawled in their sixth months, but they both sat sturdy and unsupported before six months too. Dd is bang on six month she can kind of sit unsupported for about 5 seconds before she wobbles over.

She is still waking in early hours for a feed, I'm thinking of getting hipp bedtime milk now she has reached 6 months to see if that might help

No teeth yet

She is taking three meals a day, all purees so far. Have introduced fromage frais today which she loved will leave it a few days incase of a reaction and then try toast!

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 02/10/2013 19:44

We've tried H with some steamed carrot (unsweetened), banana and toast and she seems to like them all. She's doing really well with most her development, I feel really proud of her.

I am glad everyone seems to be doing well at the moment with their LOs lovely to see.

H has started crying and shrieking to see what happens when she does. I think she keeps giving herself a headache when she does though.

That tooth is so close to coming, we check every morning to see. I am pretty sure I'd know if it had come through though, as she's breastfeeding during the night.

Jo1984uk · 03/10/2013 18:07

Timefurthat we are also at my parents at the mo Smile hoping to be in our new home by Xmas but we'll see!

Sofia is still in our room, probably will be til around 12 months. She is waking around 11, 1, 3, 5 and 6.30 for feeds!! Even though she was sleeping through at 9 weeks. I think she is teething and apparently breast milk has a natural anaesthetic in it.. I keep thinking she will start to drop feeds now we have started solids but maybe it doesn't work like that?!

birdbrain21 · 03/10/2013 19:42

jo my hv told me you don't drop milk feeds till a year so even though eventually she will be having 3 meals a day (we're on 2 at the moment) she should still be having about 6 milk feeds a day. I find that now she is having baby rice/puree at breakfast and supper she sometimes doesn't want much milk after. I guess official guidlines is not to drop the feeds but some babies will....

AmberLav · 04/10/2013 03:34

Jo S should start dropping some of the night time feeds over the next few months - you will be ableto tell how much she actually needs all these night time feeds by how hungry she is in the morning, and that may incentivise you to tough love eventually!

Jo1984uk · 05/10/2013 15:49

Thanks birdbrain, they all seem to say different things don't they!

Amberlav she is not hungry til her morning nap usually.. She wakes around 7 and her next milk feed is not til about 9.30. She is not having breakfast yet either, she's just not interested. Must be the night time milk buffet!! I have tried comforting her but I feel quite guilty if I do not offer milk when she wants it. Health visitor said to offer water instead. Just seems a bit mean?! Or maybe I give in too easily!

Mumof3xx · 05/10/2013 15:52

Dd has dropped to about 26 oz per day, but also has breakfast dinner and tea

She had been having over 30 but is full of germs ATM and not very interested in milk!

She can now sit unaided for about a min

Cannotbelieveit · 10/10/2013 17:33

Hi everyone!

Hunter is on 3 meals and a snack

7-8am 8oz bottle

9am breakfast

Midday lunch and fruit

3.30pm 5oz bottle

5.30pm dinner and fruit

7pm 8oz bottle

Weaning hasn't affected his sleep so far. Grin

He's 27 weeks now and will only sit unaided for 15-20 seconds and still only rolls onto his side! But he makes up for all that with his vocal skills! He makes so many different sounds now. He will do the other stuff when he's ready I'm sure!

Not sure if he will end up walking before his new sibling is born tho! Me and hubby didn't walk til after 1

Grin

Mama great to hear how Alex is doing. Post a pic on fb when you have chance x

birdbrain21 · 11/10/2013 14:29

cannot how you managing with your pg and lo?!

baby bird is having 'food' twice a day. She's 26 weeks this week so think I will up it to 3. She doesn't have any teeth yet despite having been teething for a couple of months so only on puree. It's interesting that some people seem to give fewer but bigger feeds we're still on 5oz more often maybe I will try giving her fewer bigger feeds...

She's now mastered the art of rolling over both ways so if I put her down on the floor and leave her she ends up on the other side of the room by rolling and wriggling. It's very cute but doesn't make unpacking our new flat any easier!
