I still wind Faithlet. She was very windy when she was tiny and I guess the habit has continued. She'll often bring up her own burps now though.

DH tried her with a bit of food this week. She's not really ready - not sitting well enough or really that keen. The carrot got pouched! I'm reading the Gill Rapley book and we'll start BLW when she's ready, probably in a few weeks (she's 5 months old tomorrow!).

Mumof3xx · 13/09/2013 21:37

Dd is still on two lots of solids per day plus 30-35 oz of formula, she's nearly 23 weeks. She can't sit unaided yet as she tips to the side. But she has watched people eating for weeks and opens mouth to a spoon straight away

AmberLav · 13/09/2013 23:55

Fussy child alert! E can normally last till 2.30am for the first wake, but she's been wailing on and off since 10.30pm ish and poor DH has had her up till now, so trying a feed to see if that helps... she's 20 weeks now (22 since due date) so wondering if it matches to a wonder week Mum ?

Mumof3xx · 14/09/2013 05:09

Could be! Leap five is 22.5 - 26.5 weeks

Dd awake at 4.30 for milk

AmberLav · 14/09/2013 08:39

Definitely worst night ever with E!

Was asleep by 8pm, woke on putting down, wouldn't settle, so back up daddy got her off to sleep at 8.40pm.

Woke at 10.30pm, wouldn't settle at all for daddy, so I fed her at 11.30pm till 12.30am. I of course didn't get back to sleep till after 1.30am!

E woke at 2.30am and didn't settle till 3.30 am, then woke at 4.40am and I eventually gave up on getting her to sleep at 6.10am, when I put her back in her cot, so the DH could take over, so E decided to fall asleep and slept till 8.20am! The phrase "little sod" springs to mind! Thankfully dh took ds downstairs, so I caught up on sleep!

Mumof3xx · 14/09/2013 14:07

Oh dear amber! We have been lucky in that even if dd does wake up during the night it's only once at the most! She usually does 11 hours straight

AmberLav · 15/09/2013 01:01

E normally wakes once or twice between 8 and 6am, and used to be a maximum 25 minutes at a feed!

So far she's slightly better tonight, but you knew she was very cross when she woke 5 minutes ago, so I didn't have the heart to force DH out of bed to tend to her (normally he's on duty for wakes before 2am, as she's not really hungry before then... oh well, at least this way I can demand the lie in later!

AmberLav · 16/09/2013 01:47

Night 3 of a very fussy sleeper! We are waking her just by being in the same space as her! I don't recall DS doing a sleep regression, buthe didn't really have anywhere to regress from!

Other than Mum and her perfect sleeper (!) How is everyone else doing at night?!

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2013 07:50

Nights are not fun at the moment here! Faithlet went down at 7.40, woke at 8.20 and 8.40, settled. Then 12.00, 3 and 6! Currently snoozing on the bed. What happened to my baby who slept from 9-6?! Not so D right now H has said he's tired and doesn't feel he's slept properly in 5 months. This is coming from the man who spent last week in a spare room because we had to co-sleep on holiday and spent the first 7 weeks of her life in the spare room. Apparently it's not the same sleeping in the spare room?! I'm the one BF when she wakes! I refuse to get into competitive tiredness because the very idea that he thinks he can compete with me in those stakes is ridiculous! Angry I feel better for getting that off my chest!

catherine19 · 16/09/2013 15:09

Ok I do nt want to say this in case it all changes but ds isn't too bad with sleeping usually goes down 7-8ish and wakes 5.30 bt norm apt in his cot till 6-6.30. He does stir slightly in the night and sometimes cries out but doesn't open hs eyes!
Ha have that's funny he thinks he's had done by! But I am pleased I don't av to go to work its worth being up at night (I no it's not as much as most of u) to ge this time with ds

catherine19 · 16/09/2013 15:10

Anyone else watching east endears at the mo? Now I'm a mum I am feeling much more sympathy fr ronnie

Cannotbelieveit · 16/09/2013 16:15

I have a good sleeper too (I know Rhys could change at any moment)

His last bottle is 7 then bed at 7.30pm and he sleeps til 7-8am. Occasionally stirs but straight back off.

We are on holiday at the mo and he's been lazy! We have to wake him in the morning now! He's still asleep at 8.30am!!

In other news I'm 8+2 today and got a private early scan on Friday. Hoping to see little beans HB then i feel like I can relax a bit more as I'm hardly having any symptoms apart from tiredness

Cannotbelieveit · 16/09/2013 16:16

Rhys??? This I meant!!! Lol

birdbrain21 · 16/09/2013 18:27

baby bird is normally a good sleeper, last feed at 8:30 and then gets up between 6 and 7. She does still wake sometimes during the night but I just stick her dummy back in...She's had some funny nights recently I guess it's a development stage.
She is loving baby rice at the moment she's having breakfast and supper time and I think I will introduce puree next week if I can decide what fruit/veg to start with. When does solids take over a milk feed, she's been having for a week and a bit but both times are a small amount followed by e bf her

AmberLav · 17/09/2013 03:13

So far so marginally better! She went down at 8pm, grumbled at 12.30am (was able to task DH! ) and then woke for a first feed at 2.45am. Now just got to detach her! But her daytime naps were almost nonexistent! Ho hum!

This time of year, apple is a good starter product, though maybe I just think that because we have 2.5 apple trees in a 40ft garden! Hard to get much more organic than that!

Courgette is also a good choice... avocado is good once you are comfortable with mash...

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2013 10:10

Better night for us too. Faithlet went down at 7.45, woke at 2.30 and 4.30 but fed quickly and went back down in her cot :) that I can cope with!

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2013 10:13

Amber Faithlet managed 45 minutes napping in total yesterday Confused hoping for better today!

AmberLav · 17/09/2013 20:42

Faith E decided she was playing catch-up, she eventually slept for over 2 hours this afternoon (I had to get her back off to sleep about 6 times), meaning that I was almost late for picking up DS, given that I also had to dash to the shops in the rain to get dinner!

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 17/09/2013 22:11

H has been quite ill today actually with a nasty cold that the rest of the household has. Sneezing and coughing. The last few nights she's been such a light sleeper, any movement at all and she'll wake up.

She used to go 10 til 5 but now has started to wake up at around 3 again. I don't really mind she just nips on the boob and doses off until about 7, then wakes up at around 9. I want to get her into more of a routine but very difficult to do at the moment as all she wants to do is bounce.

For all those making introductions I am 23, H is our first baby and she is 23 weeks this Saturday. Both I and her father are visually impaired, so that makes things very interesting sometimes.

ratbagcatbag · 18/09/2013 01:57

Hi ladies - it's ages since I've been on here. :) use fb all the time instead.

Just a quick thing, if anyone wants to join the fb group going forward cab you pm me on here first with your rl name so I know it's a genuine request,we've had some attempts by people completely unconnected to us trying to get into the group so want to make sure I only let genuine people in.

Cannot believe my dd is now over six months old, it's so scary. My babies getting a big girl.

AmberLav · 18/09/2013 03:50

Aint - I think a slight cold is part of E's problem, but there does also seem to be a developmental thing just now, so perfectly good sleepers can suddenly regress. But from memory with DS, things do get better at 6 months for some strange reason!

I think I do a lot of my interaction with E on a touch basis (like suddenly realising I've got a soggy arm!), so hope things are never more than interesting for you both! Hopefully you get the reward of lovely smiles still...

AmberLav · 19/09/2013 03:29

Yay! First wake up not till 3.10am! Think she knew daddy was not too keen on chatting with her right at the very start of his birthday! Good girl!

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 19/09/2013 15:43

Awww well done.

We had a particularly not so pleasant night last night. I think I got about 2 hours sleep. Thank goodness for Mum giving me an extra 2 hours, I honestly was struggling to function. I can't imagine how horrible it is for H, considering she's got a blocked up nose which is also running, is coughing and sneezing all the time, is achy and has sore gums due to emerging teeth. I do feel sorry for her!

Luckily I have close vision sight, so I can see her well but her Dad is completely blind. But he still thinks she's gorgeous, obviously. Daddy is coming back today from work, which she's pleased about.

kellestar · 20/09/2013 22:05

After what seems like weeks of hourly waking a, W did a stint of 10pm-2am-6am my giddy aunt does sleep feel good :) though he seems to be a little perky tonight for my liking.

He weighed in at 14lb 10oz today, DD was nearly 11 months before she weighed that.

He is a 9th centile for weight but 50th for height. Tried to fit him in a 3-6 sleep suit and he is too long, so he is now in 6-9. But the trousers are all very loose and short in the leg.

DD is .4th centile for weight and 25tg centile for height.

HadALittleFaith · 20/09/2013 22:30

Kelle I find clothing sizes bizarre! Glad you've had some sleep.

Oh dear I have a very unsettled, snuffly baby on my hands. She's had a cold for about 10 days but suddenly is runny snot (tmi?). She's already woken 3 times since settling at 8pm! Given her calpol and she just wants boob to settle her again. Not really even awake. I'm putting DH in the spare room so that he can get some decent sleep (he's travelling tomorrow) and so we can co-sleep if we need to (DH has had a couple of drinks). Fear it may be a long night.
