Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I was on transitional care from day 2 cos ds had an infection and jaundice he'd only fed for a few min at that point so he had a top up of ff from a cup then I started expresing and he needed some via a tube I got loads of help but we just cudnt do it a combo of big baby, poorly start, low supply, my state of mind etc! I expressed every 2hrs fr the first 2 weeks but still never built up my supply it tapered off cos I just cudnt do it that much when dh went bk to work and I wanted to get out ant about! Stopped at 8weeks.
I find ds is like that to after a long journey. I never see the point of stopping other then feeds cos its not like he can move around! We went away and as soon as we got BM I to put him unde the baby gym and be grabbed one of the toys and shook and shook!

Cannotbelieveit · 27/08/2013 11:34

It's me who's pregnant (name change was Trishstar before)!

Very happy about it and just thinking positive that everything will go smoothly, I had an easy pregnancy before and so far not really feeling sick just a little tired! Ironic as H is such a happy baby and sleeps so well (8pm-8am pretty much all the time).

We've started weaning and H loves food. Made quite a few bits and frozen them for ease and when we're back from holiday will start with finger foods too.

wow cannot (trish) so exciting, I can't believe it either lol Smile in some ways I'm really jealous of you but I know how hard I found pg and just after birth so forcing myself to wait a bit longer!!!

one of my best friends called me last night I haven't seen her in ages and she's 7 and a half months pg. So exciting I was the first one out ofmt group to have a baby so really nice to have someone to give reccomendations and advice to Grin and when we move in a few weeks will be living down the road to her so hopefully baby bird will have a little playmate.

Cannotbelieveit · 27/08/2013 14:19

Bird it's lovely when you can share things with friends! I've only told 2 close friends and my parents that I'm preg again! Haven't told any of hubby's family yet x

catherine19 · 27/08/2013 16:54

I can see lots of advantages to having babies close together, not for me though! I always wanted kids close. Around 18mth-2yrs but now I've been pregnant and hav a baby I want a bigger gap!

AmberLav · 28/08/2013 04:45

It's funny, now that I'm on my second (with a 2 year age gap) I can see the advantage of just cracking on! A is lovely with E, but he is still very demanding, and doesn't always get that she needs me more some times - I think he'll be happier once she is moving round. Sometimes he's so big and strong that I worry she'll get crushed somehow (one of my cousin's kids broke her little brother's leg when he was not quite one!). Think A would have been fine is E had arrived a year earlier! Congrats Cannot! Not sure I'd be ready for anymore morning sickness yet!

Mumof3xx · 28/08/2013 09:01

Congrats trish!

As I have now had num 3 I see advantages of a slightly longer age gap

Dc1 & 2 were born 16 months apart. My pregnancy with dc two was hardest of the three - I had spd and a baby who needed carrying and pushing in a pram, I was super tired so couldn't face making ds 1 homemade purees as I had with ds1 I was also very sickly and the smell of baby food made me want to be sick. Ds1 went from 8 to 16 months in a diet of cereal, tins of pasta, fruit and toast because I couldn't cope with the smell of other things!
My ds1 also had to grow up fast because at 16 months he wasn't a baby any more. He is now very independent which is nice but I wish I had had more one on one time with him. Ds2 was a very needy baby and screamed until he could crawl!
On the plus side they are now the best of friends, they share interests and play well together most of the time

Having dd four years after ds 2 I Feel I can enjoy her more as I'm not juggling two babies! The big two don't need much apart from food And the occasional referee lol

Part of me would love another but it's not practical for us and I want to enjoy dd As much as pos

Cannotbelieveit · 28/08/2013 09:39

Pretty much everyone in both our families has small gaps, also I have a lot of help from family so I know we will be ok! Grin

If I was someone who'd had a horrendous pregnancy I might have run a mile from it but pregnancy seems up agree with me and last time I was working full time as manager til 32 weeks (very stressful) this time I will only be working 3-4 months of it on 2-3 days per week.

Mumof3xx · 28/08/2013 10:37

My middle pregnancy, and middle child were and are the most difficult lol I wonder if its a middle child thing or what!

Your lucky to have a lot of support. I was home alone most of the time with two little ones and on a mission to prove the world wrong about it being too much too soon too young! But then I am a stubborn mare!

Mumof3xx · 28/08/2013 10:38

Funnily enough my middle pregnancy was also the only one I wasn't in employment for! I would never have coped if I had been!

Cannotbelieveit · 28/08/2013 11:46

My area manager just phoned to say there are 2 part time jobs available so she will hold for me until December. It's worked out really well as now I will have a cushy little PT job to return to in January 2015 after 2nd maternity leave. And closer than me travelling back to bham from Stratford upon Avon, this will be in Solihull.

Mumof3xx · 28/08/2013 12:04

Do you not go back to work til December?

Is it only me about to go back in sept lol?

Mama1980 · 28/08/2013 12:14

Congratulations trish Grin Thanks Am thrilled for you all.

Cannotbelieveit · 28/08/2013 12:41

Thanks Mama. We are waiting for more gorgeous pics of A on fb. How are you all getting on?

I wasn't actually due back at work til end of feb 2014 but was originally going back in January, so just bought it forward to December as I will be going off again march I think!

Mumof3xx · 28/08/2013 12:48

I am jealous! Although I am only going bk part time and get to take baby with me lol

Mama1980 · 28/08/2013 13:09

Grin Will try to put some more pics up later I just never seem to get the time! We are all well thanks.
Alex is growing so fast it's incredible, is sitting easily now and has discovered that by moving his arms he can throw stuff! Grin Usually food and usually everywhere! Though apple is still his clear favourite.
He had another check up last week and had a heart scan and lung function check and all was well. We have started swimming regularly which he loves in fact he loves everything (except sleep!) I think he's the happiest baby ever.
People who are still exclusively breast feeding have you found your supply has evened out? I still seem to have a huge oversupply.
I cannot believe its nearly autumn and he will be 1 in December Smile dd is organising a party.

Cannotbelieveit · 28/08/2013 13:57

Good to hear about How well he is doing! He's amazing' and so are you!! Looking forward to pics!

Apple is Hunter's favourite too!!

kellestar · 28/08/2013 14:33

Mama, great to hear how Alex is doing!

My supply is still adjusting, depending on growth spurts and illness. My boob are taking a beating. W is so rough with them, he likes to twist the flesh, giving my nipple a Chinese burn. I also suffer with whiplash nipple too, where he is still latched on and quickly looks around at B with my nipple still firmly clamped in his jaws.

Mama1980 · 28/08/2013 14:41

Hi kelle Smile Alex is really rough too, it's worse now he can sit he tries to get himself up still attached to the boob. I just seem to have so much milk. Can I ask how often you are feeding? Alex is still every 2 hours pretty much 24/7 despite being on solids.

Mumof3xx · 28/08/2013 18:34

Are any other babies sitting yet aside from Alex?

Dd still very wobbly whereas both brothers sat unsupported before five months

catherine19 · 28/08/2013 20:17

Ds is very variable but can sit for up to a min but not often!

Cannotbelieveit · 28/08/2013 20:46

H is not sitting yet x

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 28/08/2013 21:27

H is sitting for a while then just flops over bless her.

She loves her door bouncer though we tried it first today and she adores it!

She loves all sorts of foods (only been on fruit and veg purees so far) but anything with apple in she devours! :)

birdbrain21 · 28/08/2013 23:10

haven't tried any solids yet but she definately knows what her milk looks like, I finished expressing a bottle and put it on the bedside table until I went to the kitchen, I picked her up and she saw the bottle and tried to wriggle out of my arms to get it with a really frantic look on her face!!
mama she feeds every 3 hours during the day and goes overnight.
She can't sit by herself but is definately trying, she sits up very well with someone behind her but falls over straight away by herself and when she's lying down she lifts her head up as though she's trying to sit by herself.
Now that she's learnt how to roll from back to front she seems to have forgotton how to get back again from her front and gets really frustrated.Anyone else forgotton how to roll?!

AmberLav · 29/08/2013 04:28

My DS rolled front to back out 3.5months, 7 times one evening on holiday, then didn't do it again til he was nearly 5 months! He was also walking just holding our hand at 11.5 months, got a sickness bug, and completely forgot how to do it, and only got back to that stage at 13.5 months. Some babies will have little hold-ups, so don't be too surprised if it happens to you!

For me, second pregnancy was a lot worse than first, but second child is happier and less demanding than first...
