PS article, not AT&T, ATTIC!

Rubes, are your crises passing?

beans37 · 22/08/2013 18:08

And Arti, not article!

Vagolajahooli · 22/08/2013 20:47

Article....AT&T hilarious.

I forgot to comment on your hotel thing. The only thing that would make me go for the hotel is the not being faced with household tidying. But as you are hell bent on doing a gazillion things I think you're best getting a good nights sleep.

Hello all! Are the school hols not over yet? I've exhausted things to do /places to visit. If I see another effing playground I may screamGrin. Baking today (that'll help the diet). DCs been at holiday club all week and are exhausted. DS didn't wake till 9.30 today Shock

Beans glad you have sorted out the hotel/home dilemma. Please slow down a little though, your like a whirlwind woman! Have s lovely meal though

Vag enjoy your trip. How's the thighs from your exercise the other day??

Not much to else to report but hope everyone is surviving x

sybilfaulty · 23/08/2013 13:10

It's raining here is Devon so our beach trip has been abandoned. Am trying to concoct a wet weather plan for after lunch but might have to be just a trip to next village and a walk round the shops

Vagolajahooli · 23/08/2013 20:53

Omg Deids I was in some serious pain. That work out is short but intense. My abs still hurt a bit but 5hrs in the car has helped.

We are staying overnight in a little town outside Frankfurt. They couldn't accomodate us in the four bed room we'd booked but we have two lovely rooms opposite each other so we'll take a kid each and sleep in the two. I made veggie meat balls sauce and brought them in a thermos at home. I've judt made a subway style meatball sub for everyone for dinner as the boys are big subway fans. Easy dinner without having to wander around at 9pm trying to find dinner. So the boys are happily watching "Cars" in German.

Sybs sorry about the weather. I hope you found something good to do. We have a game which is a bit like a word matching game or dominoes but it's with colours and shapes. It is one of our many fall backs if the weather is bad. Ds1 has recently gotten into battleship so that's another one.

The boys are in Wales with XH. He's just rung to say that DS2 has fallen over and cut his face near his eye. They have to take him to Rhyl to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department to get it stitched up.

I am utterly terrified and wish I was there.

beans37 · 25/08/2013 15:47

Oh Kayz

Are you doing ok? How is DS? Thinking of you x

Mckayz · 25/08/2013 16:01

He is fine. He has had some stitches and XH said he didn't cry at all when they did them. I still feel a bit shakey but better now I know he is ok.

beans37 · 27/08/2013 08:42

Where is everyone?? Did you all have a lovely bank hol?

Rubena · 27/08/2013 09:43

Am here Beans!
Kayz glad ds was ok. Awful not being able to see him.
Have had a busy time with unexpected house guests which was nice. Way too much Wine and lovely to see them.
Took ds on a bike ride yesterday along the river. He's almost looking too big for his bike. Did a great effort and managed 7 miles with 2 pub stops including bouncy castle.
Mil also was over as she insisted on me getting sew in labels for school uniforms. For all upset when dh and I made a start (to prove a point) she finished all (I thought) then insisted she had to take his socks home and so them Hmm his Socks!?!? Us that normal??? Dh said, oh just let her do it..... No wonder I've had so much Wine

sybilfaulty · 27/08/2013 09:44

I'm here beans. We are on Cornwall on the second leg of our holiday. Spent yesterday on the beach then went out for supper where I got rather drunk by accident. Feeling it this morning. DH got up at 6 to go walking so kids and I just watched tv and had chocolate on toast for breakfast. We are going to get dressed in a minute and walk into town.

How are you feeling Beans? Only 3 weeks to go until my birthday, which is of course when he or she will arrive. It's very exciting. How many more weeks until they will let you have a home birth? Is DH going to get decent paternity leave?

When do all the babes start school? Girls back here on 9th, m starts on 11th for three mornings then on 16th he's in full time til he's 18! We were in holiday here 5 years ago when I was pregnant with him. Time flies. I do hope out little thread carries on. There are so many people who don't post any more. It's a real pity. Perhaps we need a meet up. BTW, Arti I haven't gone west to investigate the curtain exchange yet so that's a job for September. Hope we can hook up then.

Rubena · 27/08/2013 09:44

Sorry all the erroneous autocorrects!

Rubena · 27/08/2013 09:47

Cp Sybs. Ds starts on the 5th for 7 mornings then full time from 16th.
Good to see you around here more too

sybilfaulty · 27/08/2013 09:47

Feel your pain rubes. I haven't labelled anything yet. I see a sharpie coming on the night before. I am impressed by your organisation. DS id clearly bionic to manage all that. We are are walking ours up hill and down dale here, including a walk back from beach bar in the pitch black last night, but the cycling is something else. Don't think I could do 7 miles!

beans37 · 27/08/2013 09:57

Gosh, Rubes, that is a marathon cycle. Well done your DS. DD1 has only just got the hang of a bike with stabilisers! I'm in the throes of sewing name tapes in, but if socks get lost, I'm putting it down to experience, will not sew name tapes into those!

Sybs, go easy on your hangover. Nothing worse. If I can hang on til Sunday, then I'll be able to have a home birth. If it comes this week, then it'll be Harlow, Essex on the birth certificate, which clearly is NOT something we want! Hee hee!

DD1 starts big school on 4th. Only half days for first couple of weeks, which is annoying. Then DD2 back at Playgroup from 5th. I have enjoyed the holidays more than I expected, but am still looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet before the arrival of the beast!

beans37 · 27/08/2013 09:59

PS can I confess to a small hangover here? DH was making spritzer a last night, so I had 2. He didn't tell me they were basically two enormous glasses of white wine with a teeny splash of fizzy water. But wow they were delicious!

sybilfaulty · 27/08/2013 10:06

I remember having a tiny hangover with m. I went to a drinks party and got my drink topped up rather more than I noticed at the time! Boy did I feel it the next day. By the end through they are just growing rather than developing so shouldn't be too bad.

Rubena · 27/08/2013 10:07

Yes he's quite determined on his bike. Was tired in the end but also upset as he came off the bike being silly right In front of a pub and was very embarrassed. You'd have thought his leg was cut off the way he reacted. I gasped when she said doing the socks! Actually thought she was kidding. But no. Took them all the way home to do those as well as have a reason to bring then back I guess.
I think you're allowed to have a couple at the stage you're at beans.
How exciting. Getting close.
Would love a meet up Sybs!

ShadyLadyT · 27/08/2013 10:48

Hello me dears! I am here and would love a meet up. As far as Sept is concerned, Friday nights are usually pretty good but I can't do 13th.

I've been dying to post but it was Mum's then Poland-Ukraine (which I will bore you about at another time) then the girls have been at my MIL's so DP and I could try to spend a few days getting rid of junk - I was doing the study and have sorted every bit of paperwork in our entire house, going back years. It has taken me literally DAYS.

Anyway, we are going to collect the girls this afternoon and then we are at Mum's until the weekend. Then DD1 starts school on Tues 3rd!! Oxfordshire is crummy for hols - compared to the rest of the country they broke up late AND start back early. This summer the kids haven't even had 6 full wks! DD2 is doing two mornings a week at pre-school from then, too. I spent about two hours sewing cocking name tapes in yesterday. Actually Rubes, I wondered about putting them in her tights but I just couldn't face it.

I still need to buy school shoes (both girls), trainers and school wellies for DD1, and we all need to have haircuts...

Anyway, I am really behind with reading so when I get to Mum's tonight/tomorrow and I am looking forward to sitting back with a nice coffee and reading about what you have all been up to. I will attempt a catch up myself though it can be a little fiddly on the BlackBerry.

I cannot believe my baby is starting school. Waaaaah. She is as happy as larry about it but I feel like I am relinquishing her shiny little mind to the enormous educational sausage machine. Hope you've all had a lovely summer...

ShadyLadyT · 27/08/2013 10:50

Oh, and DD1 is full time at school right off the bat.

Mckayz · 27/08/2013 12:01

DS2 starts on the 9th for 5 mornings and then full time from the 16th. I'm dreading it.

DeidreBarlow · 27/08/2013 13:02

Can I suggest iron on labels!! Stop sewing ladies, put the needles down!!

DSs school dates are a joke! He starts on 9th doing mornings till 11.30, following week till 2pm, then finally full days w/c 23rd. It's an absolute ball ache with work. But schools don't care for any if that nonsense!!Grin I also cried in Clarks at the weekend when I bought his shoes (not just at the fact I spent a fortune). I will be a wreck when he starts. I have yet to put him in full uniform, he's only tried it all on seperately!

Rubes that is an impressive ride from DS. H hates his bike, still prefers the balance bike. It's quite odd! He can ride it just won't Hmm

Hello Ladyt, great to have you back! Right lunch break over. Must work x

Rubena · 27/08/2013 14:02

Hi Lady! (stranger!) any preggo news yet??
Yes Deids, I had a laundry pen, then saw the iron on's I was planning to get, but happened to have mil with me st the time, and she said " oh but sew on's look much better and last, you have to get those" she saw the horrified look on my face (dh can sew better than me) and she said "don't worry Nan and I will do them" at which point I went with it, as I thought well I don't know what's the norm for school in this country so OK!
I got his school shoes awhile back, but still need to get him some trainers for the weekend etc I suppose.....

JamInMyWellies · 27/08/2013 15:48

Girls just a quick jump in. Go to easy2name discount code on MN partners page. But the sticky ones for bags and lunch boxes shoes etc and the iron on for uniform (last ages) then I just got the snap on button things to use on coats.

Holiday fab back home in a couple of days. Sad.
