Oh goodness soyo - what's the good of MN if we can't all come on and rant about our OHs, safe in the knowledge they will never get to hear it? Yours and mine are separated at birth - DH is currently DJing at an end of term bbq having already been at his day job since 7 am. Lonely is not the word...Envy Wine Biscuit

SoYo · 19/07/2013 20:10

Fancy a MN drowning of sorrows Any? Mine's a whiskey sour.

somethingbeginningwith · 19/07/2013 20:50

I'll get in on that! I had a busy day of directing a show and asked OH to PICK DS up from my sister's but he said he had no petrol so I cut rehearsal short and went to get him myself, came back and was instructed to tidy and hoover. He is now cooking me dinner but I'd never turn down the opportunity for a tipple...rose for me ta! Wink

somethingbeginningwith · 19/07/2013 20:50

Not sure why 'pick' was capitalised. I'm not that angry! Smile

SoYo · 19/07/2013 21:13

Still no word, DD asleep after 1hr of screaming, PuppyMonster has torn up a duvet and there's feathers everywhere, I am severely pissed off. Fuck fuck fuckity fucker.

StormyBrid · 19/07/2013 21:31

Screamy bedtime here too. Proper howls, which ended up with me soggy and snot faced. Stupid cold, stupid heatwave, stupid insomnia. First wake up could be as soon as half an hour away and she's in the sleeping bag so I predict much sleep resistance and shouting. Bigger the booze, has anyone got any valium?

ecofreckle · 19/07/2013 21:41

Soyo have you had a text or anything? If he's not at least kept you in the loop then a weekend of primary caring and begging forgiveness are in order. Tsk. We had tears at bedtime here too tonight. Dd gets her knickers in a twist now when she has rolled on to tummy. Wah Wah Wah please put me back. And repeat. Ggrrr.
Now is bath following feral 24 hours camping. Night wee number one took monitor. Night wee two when monitor dead I just ran! Trying to do the washing up was tricky part. How do you get baby and dirty pots to sink? Brain teaser. the camp was really good for us. Dd got my undivided attention, we went with flow and didn't have to be anywhere and I got to READ :-) There will be no further mention of my camping exploits except maybe a cute photo later s to

Anypants · 19/07/2013 21:44

A rather large vodka sprite please. Twice. DD is at it again tonight - was an hour behind with bath and final feed but it's all gone to sh*t. She has only tonight discovered her feet and now wants to play with them. In her mouth. The ridiculously tight sheet that pinned her down last night is next to useless. What do I do?? And obv no DH to offer assistance makes me mad at him Angry

ecofreckle · 19/07/2013 21:45

And stormy I have something fantastic doc gave me for a fligt I was anxious about. Keep it in handbag just in case. Tamazapan. That and a gin will tell that cold who is boss....and will sort any of you out who might be suffering with hair fever.

ecofreckle · 19/07/2013 21:48

But it was prescribed in 2004 so probably a bit dodgy and should therefore remove from handbag

SoYo · 19/07/2013 21:51

No nothing, but to be fair he's probably operating on someone so texting probably isn't high on his list of priorities. Obviously sometimes urgent things happen but he's not even bloody on call so when things do happen, that's who should be dealing with it! Grrrr! Think I'll have a Mojito next.....who's good at making cocktails?

StormyBrid · 19/07/2013 21:57

eco as I was reading that something went clunk in my brain and I suddenly realised U know absolutely loads of shady characters and could probably get hold of some really easily. Must resist temptation.

Cats fighting outside, alarm going off, Poles at the end making a racket. Argh.

Also, for the record, gin is vile.

StormyBrid · 19/07/2013 22:02

And she's awake...

Plonkysaurus · 19/07/2013 22:04

Does anyone ever fantasise about bringing back coliseum sports so that these naughty OHs can battle for our pleasure?

(Just me then? This is what you get for studying Classics)

DP's transgression today was trying to wriggle out of doing bedtime so he could watch t'Ashes. Because he's been at work all week. Buddy, you worked a three day week, and I got up with ds at 5am and I looked after him all goddamn dayBiscuit .

SoYo seriously. Give him a spear and some leather armoured pants and still him in your garden. My dp will be there forthwith.

LaLaLeni · 19/07/2013 22:09

Too late to reconsider the mortgage - we've given notice here now. But also the mortgage is just over half our rent so much better if neither of us has jobs Confused. Even if I go back to work and OH doesn't we can still afford it just.

I'm about to be left alone until Monday whilst OH goes off filming. Not terribly looking forward to the prospect as DS now likes to get up at 5.30am and play.

The domperidone is working but it makes me SO SLEEPY Shock

pudtat · 19/07/2013 22:11

Hmmmm. Gin. Dreamy look on face though don't really have excuse as did treat myself to a spritzer tonight

Hello march ladies. Lots of catching up, Eco very impressed with camping - presumably at a site rather than wild? Dh slept out on wed night leaving me to it and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Don't think he's tempted to take DS yet though!

Soyo, that's really grumpy making behaviour from your dh. Did you even get dinner? Have a mojito with extra mint (we have a surfeit at the mo). Chin chin!

DS has generally been coping with heat reasonably well. Sometimes needing an extra feed overnight but that seems fair enough. Visit to mil went well too, slept as well as at home and coped ok with long car journey.

Builders finally gone so tomorrow must start clear up operation. Dust everywhere! Ugh!

Wishing peaceful nights to all, especially the snotty stormy family suffering with the hair fever and colds. (Talking of hair, anyone else shedding at an embarrassing rate of knots? I know it stops falling out when pg and you catch up but the boy is permanently plastered!)

pudtat · 19/07/2013 22:11

And how'd we know Eco knows lots of shady characters Wink

Anypants · 19/07/2013 22:22

My mint's gone a bit mental as well pud. Didn't even consider a mojito as i've nevet had one. Going to get myself the ingredients I don't have and set up shop. I may have to get very drunk to use all the mint though. Oh well... Wine Wine Wine

StormyBrid · 19/07/2013 22:55

Typo. Grin

My prediction was way off; baby went back to sleep straight away. Alarm still going off, Poles still talking, HALLE-FUCKING-LUJAH my brother's just got a visitor who always has naughty smokes. Am off on the scrounge.

Eigmum · 19/07/2013 23:11

Mini eig just woke up screaming her little head off. She is neither too warm nor too cold, refused the boob and the bottle and wont stop crying ... DH has taken her for a late night walk - I've stripped her off in search of rashes (well she has been OK for a week so due a new illness) but cant find any explanation .... cant hear them so they are either (a) a long way from our house or (b) she has stopped. Lets hope for b.

Eco - any room in your tent for me? I won't bring the kids .... just my "hair fever" - thanks for that one worse - I just snorted my tea reading that too!

StormyBrid · 19/07/2013 23:17

Fingers crossed for option b.

Scrounge successful. Alarm still going off. Number Three's housebound cat sitting in the window yowling. Don't even care. Sleeeeep...

SoYo · 19/07/2013 23:54

And he's back....nearly 5hrs late finishing. I was all set to be calm but he got arsey with me when I asked why he hasn't got in touch & that was it....he can consider himself well and truly chastised. He got a full list of his current shortcomings as husband and father ( I did throw in the 2 things he's doing well though just so it was a balanced discussion). I feel much better for it & I'm off to bed. Madam will be awake any minute!

pudtat · 20/07/2013 04:35

Aw Soyo. Not least it must have been a worry to just not hear anything, never mind the other implications. Hope he gets the idea that life doesn't just continue as before now and if he wants time for his stuff he has to be considerate of BOTH of you.

Sleep well Stormy!

So, industrial mojito making eh? That'd be a blow...

Pud Yes with the hair!! The bath plughole is a gonner. I was a huge shedder before but this is ridiculous. DS is always munching on it too, yuck. Soyo I did similar OH ranting yesterday eve, he's now buggered off to Torquay and DS was up at 12am, 1am, 2am etc etc.... So I'm in for a rocky ride. Deciding if it's worth having a day or two on less domperidone just so I don't fall asleep and something awful doesn't happen... Got someone viewing the flat at 1pm today, convenient timing (not) and feels weird as I've loved this place. I did do more than half my labour here after all!

Anyone else find lenders shit at paperwork? Nationwide emailed my employer (also a lender) for my reference and then apparently just don't check the inbox for a reply because obviously that requires a special effort right? They just expected a faxed reply (my employer don't use fax anymore as it's unsecure and belongs in the nineties). My employer say they can only respond via the method tge request was sent by etc etc blah. So I'm being a go-between despite both refusing to reveal what was in the reference so I'm not even sure what we're discussing. I hope to god they don't decide it's not got the info they need in it because my employer send out a standard template which they never deviate from so I'm screwed if they reject it Shock

Bought some Gro Anywhere blackout blinds, the ones with suckers. Whoever designed these didn't count on people ever needing the windows to open....
