Hales I am most impressed with 7 teeth!

Lovely evening of champagne and pizza but feel a bit hungover now!

Very desultory feed. I wonder what would happen if I left her to chat to herself - would she fall back asleep? Haven't been brave enough to try yet. imagine if she slept through I think waking at this time is a real habit.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/06/2013 05:01

Guess what I got for my birthday?? Another blocked duct! Ffs. I always have shit birthdays.

FriendofDorothy · 15/06/2013 06:12

I am back 30 hours a week, working Mon - Thurs.

MaMaPo · 15/06/2013 07:20

Happy birthday spotty. I hope it improves. A blocked duct is a good excuse for a long hot bath!

WLmum · 15/06/2013 08:13

Sounds lovely mama
Sad fod, hope it goes ok and you don't miss each other to much.
Happy birthday spotty sorry about the blocked duct. Why don't you be like the queen and have another birthday later in the year? (I'm planning on doing this next Mother's Day - there'll be the one I'm supposed to want with my family all around me, then there'll be the secret one i really want where I'm left alone all day!)
hales 7!!! Dd1&2 were almost a year before they got their first tooth!
We had good self settling after a 2am feed and after a 3am chatty wake up, but up again at 5 so I fed her and left her to settle - no such luck.

Barbeasty · 15/06/2013 08:16

Happy birthday Spotty hopefully it can only get better today!

FoD I honestly think the idea is worse than the reality. But I would say to keep expectations low- I still have nowork to do, but have found myself a semi permanent desk.

We do sticker reward charts. A sticker for each morning, afternoon and bedtime. Also the chance to get a bonus sticker for anything particularly good. 2 weeks with 21 stickers and DD goes to the toy shop. I'm trying to cut it back, after DH started it with a £10 duplo set, but I end up paying! Last reward was the pirate costume.

FriendofDorothy · 15/06/2013 08:24

The only good thing is that my office is about 200 yards from my front door. I should be able to pop home at lunchtime which is good because I think my boobs might explode otherwise!

utopian99 · 15/06/2013 09:08

Hope it's okay fod, at least you're close to home.

Sorry to hear about the duct spotty, I second this being an excuse for a nice long birthday bath!

hales 7 teeth! We have nil points here also, I'm slightly dreading them, although will make eating easier for him. He's worked out how to bite on bread and apricots etc but instead is just gumming them, savagely..

Thanks for the well wishes for the cold; he's a bit better I think, definitely behaving as if he feels fine but now I feel AWFUL, and we're up with in laws for a family wedding today. I love a good wedding so really looking forward to it, but in my current state won't be much fun I fear. Colds are such pointless miserable little illnesses. Grr. Angry

halestone · 15/06/2013 10:17

How can so much poo come from one little child? 5 full almost overflowing nappies in 1 hour. She has definitely got the wildiesSad

Happy birthday SpottyWineThanks. Sorry you've got the blocked duct.

Utopian have a nice time at the wedding. Maybe cake will make you feel better.

FoD enjoy your last week off.

WL yay for self settling T Grin

Pretty dreadful self-settling for this morning's nap (sleep training continues - I think this was the day 5 regression where C has realised 'Oh, you mean this is permanent? Let me express my displeasure!') but after crying and whining for 40 minutes she fell asleep. That was more than 90 min ago! Unheard of!

WL sounds like things continue to improve. Nice one!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/06/2013 14:51

Ds slept two hours again this morning. Then we went shopping and dp bought me a £200 bag ShockBlush so I've been very spoilt. Also managed to spend some of my birthday money on ds and dd Hmm

Blacked duct appears to have gone. I've got so much milk atm I'm not sure why? I expressed over 5oz this morning and usually only get 3?

WLmum · 15/06/2013 18:35

Nice spotty!
I took Tabs into my work today and one of my bosses pounced on me and wants to get some 'catching up' sessions booked in before I go back :-(
Think I need to step up the weaning - so far T has eaten every scrap and seems much more interested in food than boob :-(

IsThatTrue · 15/06/2013 18:59

Ds refused to feed between 10am and 3.30 because we were out. Resulting in huge comedy boobs and a very hungry boy. He has been lovely today though. We went to a nearly new sale and I spent £50 on an ikea bag full of clothes and a couple of toys. He was happy in the sling. Then onto my friends house for lunch and he was lovely, although insisted on getting down and into every unsuitable thing in the house! He's so tired now though. Off to do bedtime methinks.

Happy birthday spotty

SpottyTeacakes · 15/06/2013 19:02

Oh no WL! At least she's taking to weaning well Smile

IsThat going out is a nightmare atm wrt feeding isn't it? In face ds is pretty fussy all the time in the day because he's so sure he's missing out on something Hmm

IsThatTrue · 15/06/2013 19:35

Yep he only feeds well in a quiet room, but tbh I think some of that is down to the fact it's just me and him 9-3 every day and he gets lots of peace. The summer holidays will be interesting!

PurplePidjin · 15/06/2013 19:47

Oops, had nothing useful to say and lost you! Will now go back and catch up Blush

WillYouDoTheFandango · 15/06/2013 20:24

It's no better with bottle feeding IsThat J just will not eat milk in the day.

We've got full scale shrieking tonight. I think it's teeth as he's going absolutely mad. DP's gone out for the evening so it's just the two of us. I've given him medicine so just waiting for it to kick in now. I have Wine as he was asleep but woke up.

I've been doing BLW but he choked pretty badly on some broccoli today. He coughed it back up but it made him sick so I may do a few days weeks of purée before trying lumps again. Babies they're terrifying little creatures aren't they?

WillYouDoTheFandango · 15/06/2013 20:25

Oops and happy birthday Spotty glad you got a bit spoiled Smile

IsThatTrue · 15/06/2013 21:01

willyou DS has gagged badly on some bread and it made him sick. I think it's part of the learning process tbh can be scary though. I hope the medicine kicks in soon.

WLmum · 15/06/2013 22:25

Poor baby (and mummy) willyou
Yep, I chickened out of blw after choking/vomiting incident.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 15/06/2013 22:33

Thanks both, it's so hard to leave them to it isn't it. I'm so much more PFB than I ever imagined.

I've been giving him fairly solid bits to suck (so he gets to feel the texture but not much really breaks off) and then some porridge that I help him feed himself with a spoon. He loved the Plum banana and apricot porridge pouch. He also ate a Heinz banana biscotti today, the ones that completely melt in the mouth, he also loved that. He seems to love all things banana though Smile. He's 6 months tomorrow so I'm going to start weaning in earnest.

He's asleep but whimpering in his sleep Sad. I feel an unsettled night coming on.

Ugh to "catching up sessions" WL, just what you want when you could be at home with your lovely girls.

ddas · 15/06/2013 23:02

All this going back to work talk makes me realise Feeling bit conflicted about it- will really miss the kids and dd but same time will be nice to be back and feel I'm mentally stimulated and achieving something different than what I do at home. So glad I can work part time and get the best of both. Anyone else feel like this?

Don't know if people remember how dd was refusing nursing as we were mostly ff due to weight loss and I was struggling with the thought of completely stopping. All of you were so lovely and gave great advice. I decided I wasn't ready to give up just yet so giving one last all out go- taking domperidone to increase supply, putting to breast as much as possible and expressing as well. For me it's not so much as ebf as know will always need formula due to the weight issues plus we're weaning now so not so important but it's the bf bond I miss and think now that I'm doing it for that rather than trying to achieve the unachievable goal for me of a certain volume of breast milk feeling less stressed about it and know that if give it my best shot and still fails then I can come to terms with it. Sorry for the rambling but something I needed to get off my chest and the sort of thing you can't discuss with people in rl!!

ddas · 15/06/2013 23:08

willyou if likes the plum one he may also like a 4 grain porridge they do.

Impressed at all these teeth!! Dd as all of 0! Ds still teething at nearly age 2 so it last forever! You got to love calpol lol!

Thanks Ddas. I'll have a look.

J's up and ready to play! I've given him some ibuprofen now. He can't stop trumping. I hope he doesn't do a nighttime poo. I seriously cannot be bothered to deal with that!
