Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Of course small person won't go down to sleep the week daddy is away Hmm

Will catch up soon, sorry.

BigPigLittlePig · 30/05/2013 20:24

Right I need to have a big fucking rant.

I had got F ready for bed, fed and asleep for 6.45. DH and dsd were under strict instructions not to shout at one another, or be too loud, untl F was in bed. So what did they do? Have a fucking play fight in the room above us, next to the baby monitor. It sounded like a herd of shrieky fucking elephants, and woke F right up. I have tried for 40 minutes to rock her to sleep. I am hot. And bothered. And fucking sweaty. And dh has fucked off to the fucking gym. Blood. Boiling. Fucking cunting fucksticks.

BigPigLittlePig · 30/05/2013 20:26

In case I didn't get my point across, I AM FUCKING LIVID Angry

BigPigLittlePig · 30/05/2013 20:26

Plus now, when F has a shit nights sleep because the whole evening is buggered up, who has to deal with the fallout? Not dh, that's for damn sure.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 30/05/2013 20:28

Aw, YW, that was lovely.

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2013 20:32

YW that is lovely.

I am getting a bit Sad about all these babies eating lots of delicious things. I just don't feel we are getting anywhere. And when we do we have egg-gate. P is fine now thanks to those who asked. She was fine within 20 minutes really. The rash was minor but was clearly itchy. She got piriton and I was told to contact the paed and dietician as they may want to arrange tests.

P will not be spoon fed. She does love playing with food and nomming on it but how can that compare to what babies are getting when they allow themselves to be fed?

I will keep at it but I am starting to get concerned now. How do I get protein into her? She gets calcium from her milk at the moment.

My WWF name is kerry mct I think. Play meee! I am ruuuuuuubish.

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2013 20:34

BP piss in his slippers. Fucker

YellowWellies · 30/05/2013 20:35

Heehee VQ I know I must savour this baby deliciousness - it won't be long before he is trying to twat me, the cat, windows (/ all of the above) with heavy plastic toys and pitching rigid shrieking fits at anything which dents his mojo.

Chasing one day you'll be in a relationship with a good man like my DH and you'll look back on these last few months and be so proud of yourself for being an amazing Mum despite your P. The guy I spent wasted much of my twenties on was like night from day compared to DH. Life is just less of a battle when your partner looks out for you xxxx

BigPigLittlePig · 30/05/2013 20:35

Yes yw that was lovely, and there's me galumping into the thread with a heap of raaaage.

Pass she will gradually get more and more into her actual mouth, and swallow it. At the beginning, F used to want to spoon feed herself, she is now too lazy and just sits there with her mouth wide, waiting for whatever tasty delight is headed her way. Glad she has recovered from egg-gate.

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2013 20:39

Oh and det I am so sorry for the reaction you got. I am so confused and frustrated by how differently we have all been treated. I think I have said before that P met almost none of the listed symptoms of CMPI so I was very sceptical when it was mentioned. The docs just kept saying that not all babies would get the key symptoms but they felt she had it. I wasn't convinced at all but the difference in her was immediate. Also, many babies simply find normal formula too hard to digest so nutramigen is prescribed as it is partially broken down. I know of babies who have no intolerance as such but who cope better on it so they get it. I also don't understand the allergy or nothing statement. The two things are different. An allergy is an immune system response whereas an intolerance is a gut response. It seems bizarre that the paed is being so obstructive.

ValiumQueen · 30/05/2013 20:45

pass, she is doing well. You are both doing well. Considering her experience of milk I think she is amazing to be doing what she is. We are still on fucking pear puree!

BP get the cat to shit on his pillow. When he is on it. (((Hug)))

YellowWellies · 30/05/2013 20:48

BP piss in his hat.

Pass Jonas prefers purees if they are either a) sweet or b) include meat. Tea tonight was chicken, parsnip, courgette, brocolli and apple. 1 cube of meat to 4 veg. The only veggies he eats on their own are parsnip, spinach and sweet potato. He has his hands in his mouth and it goes everywhere so its a combination of me and him feeding him.

I was where you are 2-3 weeks ago (which is the age gap between P and J) - after I introduced finger foods he refused purees but he's come back round so long as he gets purees first then finger food. It changes so fast don't worry. He also struggled with lumps - swallowing them like Confused he was downing a minging tequila but he's OK now. I think reflux babies are just slower. Only a month ago he was vomming like the racist Grandmas on Little Britain at BLW Grin

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2013 20:51

Lol @ racist grannies!

Ok. I accept said fish slap

How do you chaps purée meat?

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 30/05/2013 20:53

pass - today I made meat puree by taking bolognaise, chucking it in blender, whooshing it around blender, done Grin I made chicken puree by chucking chicken in blender with some of the meat juices. Looks fucking rank but DS doesn't seem to mind.

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2013 20:54

I think I have an image in my head of my sister feeding her baby. He was in his bouncy chair, no muslin, no bib even. He sat there boinging his legs in excitement while every spoonful was expertly emptied. Sister scraped the tub clean and he was Sad when she showed him it all empty. P seems weeks behind that never mind 2 days!

I don't think he likes sooking broccoli though

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/05/2013 20:55

Ok. Am trying wwf. Am spring fairy think I have just started a game with stunt. Ut who knows. Could be anyone!

Kyzordz · 30/05/2013 20:57

goshes I'm sleepy!

vq bless j I bet he can't wait to tuck in!

madam do you literally just blend the whole thing, mince and all?

aw yw jonas sounds like such a treasure! bagels, never thought of giving those. how do you do them?Blush do you cut in half and toast under the grill bit in the oven and then spread stuff on them? i guess you have to let them eat it? even when they break big bits do you let them sort it out themselves? I think I probably definitely interfere with e too much when he is feeding himself things. shall try not to panic about choking Blush I do try and I'm definitely better but I still get very anxious. sounds like jonas is doing fantastically with his grub!

I agree with pass bplp piss in his slippers!

pass with e I loaded the spoon at first and let him get on with it. sometimes he still does play with it and sticks his fingers in it and everything but its a big learning curve for them as well as us. I reckon p is doing just fine. I am sure that someone in the quiche said if they get more than x amount of formula a day they get all the vitamins and minerals they need so don't worry about her not getting what she needs am guessing its 20oz

Smile
Kyzordz · 30/05/2013 21:00

I need to puree some meat. For now I shave tiny bits of meat and add it to that days veggies

YellowWellies · 30/05/2013 21:01

Pass I roast the meat then slice it into chunks. Fat, juices and meat are put in the blender with a teaspoon of water or so if needed and whizz until its a crumbly texture. I think you'll need to use a proper grown up blender not one of the baby puree ones to get the right consistency. We've got pork and chicken in the freezer and he's had flakes of white fish (not pureed). Am going to try lamb and minced beef. He seems cool with tomatoes so might make him spag bol.

Another thought....When he went off purees I tempted him back with Ellas kitchen ones, then mixed them with home made and now he's back on home made with Ellas saved for when we go out. Little sod was clearly going thru a restaurant critic phase Wink

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2013 21:01

Thanking yoo madam. I will get to pureeing meat tomorrow. I made her a mini beef stew before which she seemed to like licking off my fingers but was Hmm when offered it on a spoon

BigPigLittlePig · 30/05/2013 21:02

At what point are we suppposed to start giving them meat? F is still on fruit and veg. Was going to try lentils next week.

Kyzordz · 30/05/2013 21:04

Also pass e is the same as jonas. Purees must be sweet or meaty. He does not like normal potato so has sweet potato or parsnip or something and then something else. A couple of weeks back he wouldnt touch veg but he does now. I also give puree then some finger foods and he eats better before a bottle not after. He has not cut his milk intake so I do not mind that he likes it better that way

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2013 21:05

Tried EK. Turned her nose up. They are delicious though! Peach and banana! Yum! Not for the penster.

I shall channel the quiche tomorrow, give her shit to play with and chill the fuck out.

YellowWellies · 30/05/2013 21:05

Kyz bagels are the closest we can get to toast as they are dairy and soy free. They are also a bit Shock Shock choketastic but he appears to have a v healthy gag reflex. I am slowly learning to leave him be. It has taken a month and pep talks from my baby first aid trained sister. I now leave him be even when he puts a bit of regurgitated bagel back in Envy Envy Envy

ValiumQueen · 30/05/2013 21:11

Pass, you cannot compare your little catwalk model to her sumo cousin. He has had a huge appetite from day one, and would not know an intolerance if it hit him on the head. Please try not to compare her to any other baby. She is not even 7 months yet. She has plenty of time, and is doing great. As are you (((hug)))

When I introduce meat, I cook a pot of the meat with some favourite veg, in a nice gravy (low salt) then whiz it. I do a chicken meal and a lamb meal. The lamb I do in the slow cooker. Using lamb mince. The chicken I do on the hob as it does not benefit from long cooking. Although saying that, a whole chicken in the slow cooker is so very soft I do not give beef until quite a bit older.
