Det the jury's still out on it to be honest. I've not seen enough of a change to say there's been a real difference. He loved the sessions though!

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 21:10

The other way is A&E if you can't get it through the GP. You can buy IG over the counter if you wish to try it, it isn't recommended to do so, but we did it to see if it helped - it did. So we told the GP to prescribe because we had bought it and it worked.

The ranitidine etc we got through A&E.

Strong and firm, remaining polite will give you the upper hand. I like to think I am quietly assertive.

I'm not quiet. But I can be when it counts. It unnerves people!

ValiumQueen · 03/06/2013 21:12

Yes Pass. This time there were no wet patches. The night is young though.

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 21:12

Well done Pikz! Misses cake with you.

YW Can you tell me what they did? I may give one a go for O, I'll give anything a try. Although he seems much improved of late, so perhaps it might be something to only consider if he goes backwards again.

Pikz · 03/06/2013 21:15

Det the cranial helped here with severe hiccups and puking. We had 3 sessions and he seemed calmer. It was all very subtle movements.

Pikz · 03/06/2013 21:16

And thank fuck for sugar free jelly.

MissMummy1 · 03/06/2013 21:17

Lovely lovely day today, only downer was the lack of a few faces but we will have a westerly meet v v soon Grin

Hope today went well cacacaz

Catbag is clearly superwoman Grin

'D'P's boat broke. So he came home early (but hid in the car while quiche ladies were leaving, maybe he is reading this thread and scared they want to castrate him?).

Anyway, do you know what the fucker did today? I had planned to roast a naice farmshop leg of lamb for dinner. I had been looking forward to it all week knowing tonight is the first whole day off work I would have a chance to do it and enjoy eating it. Mmm. Went to the freezer this morning. No lamb. Have been beating myself up all day wondering if I had imagined buying it or forgotten eating it. Nope. The selfish twunt took a WHOLE frozen leg of lamb to work today. For his lunch. His fucking lunch?! And he was home about an hour after lunch as it transpired. Fucking idiot. So I gave him beans on toast for dinner. Angry

Twat twat twat.

On another note: talk to me about contraception ladies! I do NOT want another baby. I do not want to shag the hairy fucker who is sulking in his garage just now either . The 6 month milkaholic is the result of taking the pill. Anyone have much success with the implant? I do not want to bleed all the time, I do not want to become a psycho and I do not want to get pregnant.

YellowWellies · 03/06/2013 21:20

A lot of manipulation of the spine and head massage, Jonas can't get enough of ladies massaging him future sex pest

ChasingDaisy · 03/06/2013 21:24

All the talk of reflux etc makes me wonder whether O has something going on that stops him sleeping well at night. I'm probably clutching at straws but getting a fucking pissed off a bit concerned that he hasnt slept through even once yet Sad

MM I would be interested to know about the implant too. I am contraception free at the moment turns out that having a twunt for a P who I cam barely look at, let alone touch is pretty good contraception In itself and hate anything hormone-y. Need to get something sorted though. Got another smear reminder letter today. God knows why I'm putting it off - I've given birth FFS Hmm

StuntNun · 03/06/2013 21:33

Izzy I bought Infant Gaviscon over the counter all prepared to tell them the HV had recommended I get some to try before asking the GP for a prescription and the difference in J was so marked and immediate that I went to the GP a couple of days later for a prescription. I went in to the GP and said J has silent reflux, arching back during feeds, vomiting and swallowing it back down blah blah and could I please have a prescription for something as I couldn't cope with the poor sleep any longer and J wouldn't eat solids because this throat was sore. So I got ranitidine as well although it doesn't seem to have made any difference to J.

Evil I've been gathering tips from Dexter.

Omg. New hagaandazs advert with what's his name from hang over (and alias many years ago) omg he is so fit.

Will now dream about bumping into him and running away. Wink

Fh has fucked off out.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 03/06/2013 21:43

Thanks for the tips. I may go down to surgery tomorrow and try speak to someone. I'm tempted to write a not actually as i won't be able to see gp without an appt and have limited times this week where I can fit it in!

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 21:53

Pikz I just nommed a bowl of lime sugar free jelly.

Soooooooooo good! Yes, thank fuck for the sugar free jelly indeed!

YW Grin at future sex pest. Love it!

MM Angry a whole fucking leg? I'd get the bone and shove it up his fucking arse and twist a few times for good measure.

Kyzordz · 03/06/2013 22:00

evening all, lots to catch up on today! don't think I have Time to reply to all of it but...

that is fab catbag!! well done!

vq can't believe j is poorly again, so fucking unfair :( hope he's better soon

hope you had a good day cacacaz

hope you get something sorted for j at the doctors izzy

I am rubbish and forgot to get dps work clothes washed in time for tonight. oops.

detective I bet o is just having less because of eating. e has taken less milk today too, I don't know if you're supposed to give less solids if they take too much less than usual or only worry if they regularly take less than 20oz? i know you give vitamins if they are drinking less than 20oz of formula. e has had about 28oz so far and will still have something at his df even if not alot.

speaking of e, the monster has decided blowing raspberries in puree is hilarious. todays hits were banana and peach puree and he ate cottage pie for tea. he moans a bit for about five minutes but then often eats what it is he is offered. no idea why. getting the first spoon in can take a while, he lets it touch his lips and if its sweet he opens wide. if it isnt he turns away or sucks a small amount off a few times. its like he is deciding what to make of it.

oh detective I stuck a cube of mash with two sweet potato and two broccoli and cauliflower and he ate it :)

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 22:04

Hi-five to E Kyz! I find vegetable hiding the best kind of way to get new foods tried. :)

He's probably just scraping 20oz at the minute. He had 4 bottles in the end today - none of which he cried for. Well, the 5.30am one was cried for, but the rest - no. He had one at 12.45, 5.30, and bedtime one at 8pm. Do I just leave him to cry for one? Or just give him one 4 hourly? I am thinking of 5 hourly if he hasn't cried? Just because it is easier to give him one at a more convenient time, rather than say, when we're in the car or something!

And O does the testing thing first with food too! I think he even sniffs it!!

Pikz · 03/06/2013 22:08

Det got 666!!

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 22:09

I just noticed that too and was about to comment pikz! Grin

YellowWellies · 03/06/2013 22:11

Izzy don't worry about other commitments - just get an emergency appt and get it sorted asap - you've been sleep deprived and he's been in pain for so long - can you not move stuff around? Can anyone help cover stuff for you? I know its daunting but a note won't do it I don't think. There are perfectly good meds which would have you both feeling so much better within days - I'm scratching my head a bit as to why you're not running to the docs? Is there something worrying you about it? You seem to be putting barriers up to the idea? I know lots of folks aren't fans of the docs but it won't be half as bad as you think xx

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 22:21

Izzy I echo what YW said. I've worried about you and J for ages. He clearly has intolerance/allergy to things from what you have said - and looking at the pictures on FB. Is there something bothering you? I know it is scary the prospect of raising/feeding a child with intolerance/allergy. At first I had so many worries.

But they all melt away when you see your baby happy and thriving from their new diet.

Please take him this week, tomorrow if you can! You both need this sorting and soon. :)

Kyzordz · 03/06/2013 22:25

I think its worth trying 5 hourly detective, he might drink more if actually hungry then get over the 20oz easier. If it d work you can offer more often again. I Cant wait to drop this effing night feed, now he's eating a decent amount I don't feel ill be taking his food away. He still has 5 bottles offered with this df though and four is probably more like it at their age I guess, lol!

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 22:26

Do you ever wonder if you have an extra sense when it comes to our babies?

I don't usually check on O in the evening once he is asleep. I check on him before bed, and that is it - because it usually disturbs him to do it more often.

Well, I went in to him to find the blankets pulled totally over his head, just his legs visable. I fucking shit myself. I pulled the blankets off him, and other than him being a bit hot, he was fine. But I wasn't fine.

I have some grobags on eBay on my watch list which end soon, but I think I'll just go and buy one from Asda or somewhere tomorrow. If he is going to do things like that anyway...

He really does have a habit of pulling the blankets over his face. I woke him from his nap this morning, and he grunted, and pulled the blanket back over his head and went back to sleep. Hmm

He just wants to bury his face in fleece Hmm.

Kyzordz · 03/06/2013 22:49

E did the exact same to me last week detective he has gro bags at night but a fleece he loves in the day. He has just started napping again in his cot in the day and I dont know why I needed to but I felt I should check on him when usually I wouldn't want to risk waking him up. He had covers all the way up over his head. He was fine but it scared me to death!

Very weird indeed

izzybizzybuzzybees · 03/06/2013 23:01

ywand det I want to get him sorted I really do but I'm worried the GP will fob me off. I had to fight to get referral to paeds as she didn't think he has an intolerance or anything at all. I'm worried that if I turn up going on about reflux she will think I'm crazy I suppose!

My commitments tomorrow are tricky to get out of, some of it is at DDs nursery and the other is an appt I'd need to pay for if I don't attend and also the Minister is coming round to discuss baptism. I can't cancel on a minister! I will drop DD at nursery and circle past the GP surgery and see if I can get an appt. I promise. I'd love J to sleep well and in fact for me to also but I'm not completely convinced I don't think that this will even help him. I need to try it though!

YellowWellies · 03/06/2013 23:57

Izzy fingers crossed for you. I think the fact your GP called suggests they are concerned and might be taking it seriously / feeling guilty. They are tight about referrals to hospital I believe because of budget implications so getting a referral is much harder than getting a prescription. If you don't ask you'll never know. The minister I am sure would also understand if you rearranged because of a baby in need of the docs. If getting an appointment is too difficult then as Stunt suggests at least get the wee man some gaviscon over the counter. This genuinely could be the solution to your sleepless hell so its got to be worth a shot eh?

LuisGarcia · 04/06/2013 00:47

Was it TheDetective asking about freezing bananas and avocados a little while ago?

It doesn't hurt, it doesn't poison anyone, it just can make the skin go brown and turn the banana itselfs texture to mush (As the ice forms in the banana cells it expands and ruptures them. Not good as a storage method for bananas as adults know them, but p handy for both baby food and smooth banana ice cream).

And thank you all for being so welcoming to MrsG!
