O has weatabix and fruit purée or porridge and fruit purée.

He'd better have a bloody tooth this morning after whining all night with his eyes closed. Have an up all night headache.

Am going to try DS1 off dairy this week Sad he had a tummy bug about a month ago and his nappies are still horrible and loose. Then last night he drained DD1s rice milk like a fiend. He always turns his nose up at cheese anyway and I cook from fresh mostly so shouldn't be too hard. I wonder if the cheese dislike and the rice milk crave are a message.

Lily311 · 31/05/2013 05:58

Up here too. Back at my parents' till tmrw than good bye. I bought them open air theatre tickets as a thank you, than bought 2 for my sister and I for the following week and asked them to babysit for the grandchildren Grin. There are 4.

Oh, I forgot to tell you. I stopped breast feeding a month ago. O still pulls my top down though so yest I put her on boob. She looked at me and blew raspberries. We both ended up giggling. She is a monkey. I must put pic up with her haircut.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 06:05

Morning.

clarella that must have been terrifying. I agree though, scary moents like that do put things in persoective.

Isn't this a lovely age? When they're not ill that is. Easy to make them laugh, and they can actually do stuff, deliberately. I love 6-9 months. Love it.

BigPigLittlePig · 31/05/2013 06:27

We have been up for the day since 5.15. I woke dh to tell him that if anyone fucks up Fs bedtime routine tonight, they will be fucking well lynched.

Luis Brew - love the food chat!
Chasing ditto
Eliza it must be so much easier now you can do the tube yourself. And nice to not have so many trips to the hospital I bet!

Think it's going to be sunny today, so we're going to surprise dh with a picnic when we collect him from work at lunchtime. That's the plan at least.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/05/2013 06:42

Scary. clarella I hope you are ok today,

bp we picnicking too today. Can't wait.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 07:38

fatima I read annabel karmel's complete baby and toddler recipe book. It's based on purees to start with but, thinking about, there's no reason you couldn't just not puree the stuff if you're doing blw. The recipes are healthy, varied and there's a good section on what to introduce when, along with sample menus.

kyz please stop putting yourself down. It's not ridiculous to panic about weaning or choking. It's unecessary to panic about weaning, and it is good to recognise that choking is a hazard. Nothing ridiculous about it. I regularly re-read the part of my first aid and health book about choking, to keep it fresh. I feel that if I can recite and visualise what to do then if it happens I won't panic. You could find the information online. You're doing a great job. Stop putting yourself down.

I have a different order of meats: chicken, turkey, veal, white fish, salmon, ham, beef, lamb, pork, offal, pates etc (after 12 months). We can't get minced pork or lamb here which is why they come last. I'm not going to go into the offal - I have a feeling you won't like using it.

MsJupiterJones · 31/05/2013 07:49

Petite agree that it is a wonderful age. Really magical (when it's going right!) Btw did you mean just the pâté after 12mo or the offal? I was thinking of doing liver, I'd have thought it was a great texture & good source of iron.

L was awake 2-3am and then only went and bloody slept till 7.30. This is by far the latest and longest he has slept. My mother is going to be so smug after her day out with him yesterday.

YellowWellies · 31/05/2013 07:51

8 til 7.30! I woke up at 5am in a pool of milk and made DH go and check he was still breathing Smile

Thanks for the stock cube recommendations.

And for those worrying about dairy free weaning - I think what they don't have they don't miss. You can get really nice pea protein yogurts called 'wot no dairy' and 'bessant and drurys' coconut ice cream. We might not be able to imagine a diet without cheese but that says more about us and food than anything else.

Are those of you with dairy free babies going to move to dairy free family meals when they wean or are you going to cater for them separately? All our meals are dairy free at the mo - am not sure post BF. My inner hog wants to bath in cheese but just cooking one meal is much less faff. But then why give up BF? I am dreading stopping now its getting closer.... Confused

TheDetective · 31/05/2013 07:53

Fucking men. Man. Sorry Luis.

O is up and playing in his cot. I'm not ready to face the world on 3.5 hours sleep thanks to certain people. Hmm

Fucksake.

TheDetective · 31/05/2013 07:54

I'm not going to YW as our diet is already restricted.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 07:55

jj I meant pates after 12 months. Offal is ok whenever I think. Liver is great for children. as is brain

MissMummy1 · 31/05/2013 07:57

I can confirm that the bond between YW and Master J is incredible Grin

Choking terrifies me too kyz.

Arsebiscuits det. Can you be referred to anyone else?

BPLP I would have been raging. My 'd'p decided to cut the grass just after we put M down last night Angry (our gardener has gone awol and it was becomming a jungle Angry Angry ). The irony was he whispered when he popped back in for a drink leaving half the garden all over the kitchen floor

I am very angry with him today. He has done v well the last few days to be caring and lovely but last night he reverted to type. M woke once at 3am. I know I should have got up because he is working today (irrelevant that I am too...) but whatever bug/illness I have I am feeling absolutely wiped out and exhausted. Even after plenty of sleep. So I whinged at him to get up to her. May I add he was awake watching tv on MY tablet anyway. Long story short the dickhead ranted at me for being selfish then stomped off to sort M, taking the duvet with him Shock - "If I have to get up you should be awake too" . Angry Angry Angry Arse.

And he fucked off to work with MY car this morning not asking if I needed it or not (I do) so he's totally ballsed up my day and I am now waiting for my mum to come and get me to pick it up. I hate relying on her for unnecessary crap like this. Angry Angry Angry

But the sun is shining. I feel slightly less vommy than yesterday, and today will be a good day Smile

PurplePidjin · 31/05/2013 08:12

Brew and apologies for the night crew...

R did 7:45-4:15 then 4:30-5:45 Shock

I'm still not well so didn't sleep anything like that, but I'm still Shock

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 31/05/2013 08:17

MM Angry for you. What a shitty way to behave and treat you.

Beautiful day here BP but I am at work. DC will get to spend lots of time in the garden at nursery though. If it is nice this weekend we may have to steal picnic idea!

YellowWellies · 31/05/2013 08:19

MM Hope you're feeling better - my symptoms are much improved on omeperazole but I still think there's something else underlying it.

Boo to nob jockey DPs Envy Envy

Evilwater · 31/05/2013 08:21

OMG!
N went down at 1900 and awake at 730!!! It does exist!
He selpt through!!!!
Grin

To all those mummy that are having trouble, Brew and Wine. p's really don't think do they. Hope you have a better day in the sunshine.

Evil

BigPigLittlePig · 31/05/2013 08:30

Envy A REALLY not jealous face!

Clarella · 31/05/2013 08:35

morning! I agree it is a lovely age :)

sometimes wish I had more sleep to enjoy it Grin

as I say yes scary but the nurses following the unit in a bus were so lovely it was verging on a pleasant experience Confused if a crash can be??!

I always worry about his tone in the middle of the night for some reason. might ask my nice health visitor to have a look. I feel very munchhausen imo it's always been an additional contribution to our feeding issues.

very proud of his first attempts to eat - he's only 25 weeks but sitting up etc. he's able to chew lumps etc. unfortunately it's made wind worse so I'm going to scale it back to simple stuff. any advice? pears were bad and sweet potato not great! carrots? banana? I'm thinking about some probiotics again. he's going to be on antibiotics long term to protect any kidney damage and I think the recent up in dose may have upset things.

it's a gorgeous day here

Clarella · 31/05/2013 08:43

I've missed a lot sorry ladies. Mm that is sooooo selfish of him Angry

I'm guessing there's some other numpty partners about from the comments?

if there's one thing this crash has done its help Dh and I not stress about the co sleeping stuff. it just makes life and sleep easier (another reason why less mnetting!) so if he's still a crap sleeper in three months when I'm back at work we'll carry on doing it.

Clarella · 31/05/2013 08:44

congratulations Evil!! Grin

Kyzordz · 31/05/2013 08:46

morning all! lots of posts last night, were many of you awake? I was woken 3 times, twice by e and once for the loo. it could've been much worse! he keeps waking and goes back off when I put him on his side. he has a gro bag and cannot get over in it. he has a blanket in the day and chooses to go on his side then too but I darent stop using the bag at night.

hopefully things will ve easier now you can do the tube eliza

vq when do you give things like toast etc? I keep giving it even though it scares me because he likes to feed himself toast and soggy sticks of veg and things. I am sure you will make weaning fun with j too once you get into it and used to his dietary differences

detective that is wank re o's clothes! what a bollock.

glad los kidneys are good clarella :)

sorry pr I just still don't feel that confident although the actual weaning bit I think I am better with now just not the choking bit. the first aid course made me feel better but then I still do not want to be in that position. I question why I give him finger foods each meal but then he loves them and so far is doing quite well and I hope is getting the best of both worlds

mm what a twat badger. take pass's suggestion and piss in his shoes

well done baby evil!

StuntNun · 31/05/2013 08:47

J has a doctor's appointment at 10.40. AIBU to tell them if they can't fix him then they have to keep him?

OP posts:
Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/05/2013 09:01

Try it stunt will be Interested to hear the response.

Am all on my own with four children for 48 hours ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Luckily they have strangely morphed into Sylvanian family playing perfect children. How long do we bet it will last? Am sitting down with a coffee.

Oh. No tooth.

yw where can I purchase those yoghurts for my experiment with DS1?

mm I am sure you can dream up suitable revenge! Do have an amusing image of mrmummy trailing the duvet behind him like Linus out of Charlie Brown. Grin

ChasingDaisy · 31/05/2013 09:24

Breakthrough alert! Oscar ate Ella's Kitchen mango puree from a spoon for breakfast! Shock Grin. He will eat from a spoon! I am tres relieved. Almost makes up for the shit night. Almost.

Just getting ready to pop next door for a coffee so will catch up with thread after. But yes I have that AK book and it is good. Will read properly when I have finished reading the book stunt leant me.

YellowWellies · 31/05/2013 09:59

Yey O!!! Smile Smile Smile rock on wee man

Sophia I get them from our local health food shop - where I go to buy shitloads of soy and dairy free cake Grin Grin Grin so I use the term 'health food' very loosely. But Google 'wot no dairy' and I think you can order them online. None of the big supermarkets stock them annoyingly.

I know its not thankful Thursday but I'm having it belatedly - I'm thankful that the mythical sleeping through does exist (less thankful that J and my boobs appear to have sleep trained me NOT to sleep throughEnvy ), thankful that our 9kg washer can do a 5 day washing pile in one load (including Wednesday when J went through 5 outfits due to weaning and a leaky wet nappy - put on with him wriggling like a trout) and thankful for more sunny weather.

Today I'm going to hang the washing out, get J weighed, go to the garden centre - and start my attack on the front garden - its just dull gravel ATM but I have plans....

BPLP I heard brain too - I love offal but considering diseased sheep brains being consumed by cows led to BSE and us eating said grey matter to CJD brain is the only organ I wouldn't touch with someone else's! Wink
