Hi ladies

Just thought we could all really do with this. Rather selfish a its mostly for the thousand odd questions I have and things I'd like to share/ vent that no one else would understand.

We've all been together so long I even talk about you all to DP Smile

Can I have your mum... Amazing! I felt more tired as soon as I got a bit more sleep - I think my body suddenly remembered how much it liked sleep!

NoForkNKnife · 23/06/2013 20:16

Another one whose had lots of sleep . DH woke up with A both mornings this weekend. I slept until gone 10 both days Shock.

Thanks for the tip Bood. I'm hoping we won't need it again. She's been punished with no TV all weekend. I have no idea if it was the right thing to do (DH imposed it) but she has missed it and knows why etc. it's actually done her good to be a bit more creative.

Weigh in again tomorrow, and I feel very nervous. FX!

Oh, and something completely different. I seem to have way too much pay from work. They've paid me 2 months full pay, and 2 Half pay (so far) instead of 6 weeks I each. I wasn't expecting anything but SMP on Friday. If they have made a mistake can they ask for it back with immediate effect? I'm worried they've messed it up because I went on maternity so early and unexpectedly. DH says to keep quiet and if they want it, they'll have to wait until I go back Hmm.

Rhienne · 23/06/2013 20:59

Note to self: hide all pens, markers, crayons and other possible writing or painting implements tomorrow (first day home alone with DS1 and DS2).

So far today we've BF one side each feed, no shields. (Tried a shield one feed when very sore, but he wouldn't latch so took off shield and on he went). DS seems satisfied with what he's getting. I'm sore but not in agony. FX!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 23/06/2013 21:25

Have you smothered them with lanolin rhienne?

Rhienne · 23/06/2013 22:15

Each and every feed!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 23/06/2013 22:45

rhienne have you been checked for thrush? ( that bloody hurts once its in your milk ducts) Is it just your nipples or does the pain shoot into your breast?

InNeedofSomeSleep · 23/06/2013 23:26

Bood- I felt worse for sleepin so much. Mind you this evening I fell asleep at 8.30 and K woke me up at 11 for her feed. Hoping for a goodnight.

No fork- I would say only because if they have made a mistake they prob would ask you to pay it back. My DH would say the same to.

InNeedofSomeSleep · 23/06/2013 23:28

Rhienne- hope your 1st day with 2 alone goes ok. I was so worried about my 2 but as long as I have DD1 occupied while I feed then it's not as bad as you think.

10 have you reached the 10-12 weeks (ish) growth spurt. Once you get through that it will be easier.

Bunnychan · 24/06/2013 10:07

Omg god- how many fussy growth spurts do they have? Lol! I'm only just come through the 2-3 week one!

Zorra · 24/06/2013 10:36

Fussville here as well, five weeks tomorrow. She's been brilliant with feeding and sleeping for the last couple of weeks, then last three days of screaming for at least three hours a night Confused including one night where this was between 2-5am, with DS getting up at 5. Shes also off her feed so doesn't want to just suckle or cluster feed and I'm running out of ideas!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 24/06/2013 10:41

zorra sounds like colic, massage her belly in a clockwork direction around her belly button.

The 12wk one is the last major growth spurt.

TigerSwallowTail · 24/06/2013 11:01

I'm going through the 2-3 week one just now too bunny, I'm so tired and dd is so fussy, even with a bottle in her mouth she still cries and fusses, she won't let me leave her alone or put her down even for a few minutes, and she has decided that neither her nor me are ever sleeping again 😩 not so good when I have another dc at home too.

Babies can be born with teeth 10 so it could be teething. Also, teeth can take a while to actually cut but still cause discomfort for sometime before. I found nasty poop that caused nappie rash was also a sign of teething.

InNeedofSomeSleep · 24/06/2013 12:47

10 their teeth move under the gums from quite early on so they get similar symptoms to teething. Would explain the not sleeping tho.

TigerSwallowTail · 24/06/2013 13:22

Another story to add to all the pen/crayon/marker stories, ds has just dripped paint all over the upstairs hall and our stairs, on the new carpet that we just had laid a couple of months ago. He said he was trying to surprise me, dp and W with some pictures for us when he spilt it all so I feel guilty about giving him into trouble too.

mrsmooms · 24/06/2013 14:13

Oh Tiger, he sounds so sweet. Wasn't a cream carpet by any chance, was it?!

TigerSwallowTail · 24/06/2013 14:20

No it's light grey, I've scrubbed it with fairy liquid and most of it has came out thankfully. W had been cranky all morning and had just fell asleep too, I thought I could finally relax until I found the paint. I think it's a sign of things to come as summer holidays start on Wednesday so I'll be run off my feet with these two.

Rhienne · 24/06/2013 20:15

Our first day home together, DS1, DS2 and me, went quite well. Was struggling to keep my eyes open this morning, and DS1 slept for too long at naptime (cos I was also asleep with DS2 on my chest to keep him happy) and is not going to sleep now. But we all survived!

Thanks for your tips and encouragement. I don't think it's thrush as I had similar pain with DS1 and was checked and told no. Think it's just that I have sensitive boobs, and kids with strong jaws! Just need to stick it out until DS' mouth gets a bit bigger, and I get a bit tougher. Sigh.

Bunnychan · 24/06/2013 20:41

Omg I have really itchy stretch marks on my boobs. As I'm breastfeeding, any ideas of what I can put on them?

ButteryJam · 25/06/2013 00:52

Bunny, mine are itchy too and it's apparently normal for those with large breasts. I have the mamma mio boob tube which could be used but I haven't got round to it

ButteryJam · 25/06/2013 00:54

How do you know if a breast has been emptied by baby?

DXBMermaid · 25/06/2013 04:28

Bunny I use olive oil or sweet almond oil both for my skin and the baby's. I prefer the olive oil (it is also a natural anti-fungal which is nice).

Buttery I was wondering about that. My boobs never seem empty even after a loooooong feeding session.
