Hi ladies

Just thought we could all really do with this. Rather selfish a its mostly for the thousand odd questions I have and things I'd like to share/ vent that no one else would understand.

We've all been together so long I even talk about you all to DP Smile

I have a mei tai, that I custom made for an older child so sturdy, but much too thick and padded for a newborn. So I've ordered a moby.

Omg went to bed at 11.30, woke at 2.30 (with help from dd2) and 6.30. Wow. I feel half human.

lollypopsicle · 19/06/2013 15:14

Hello everyone.
I have a moby too. I like the way it holds LO once it's on but there is soooo much material, it is a faff to get it on.

Well N is 16 days old today so we're a bit behind most of you. has anyone has started dieting or proper exercise yet? I feel so fat, I just want to be back to normal again. Did you/will you wait until your 6 wk check up? Any dieting breastfeeders? Is it a big no no to even think about dieting right now? I'm planning on joining slimming world again in a few weeks and following their breastfeeding plan. Just wondering what others are doing, really.

MammaBrussels · 19/06/2013 15:23

I've been told to wait until the 6 wk check up until I can start exercising. I'm just doing the exercises the kine went through with me in hospital. Gentle exercise should be OK.

Buttery I did exactly the same as Nofork I ordered a caboo yesterday seen as they go for almost full price on eBay. I also used the mothercare 15% off. I've never used a sling before.

Lolly I'm so down about my weight. I just got back from the school run and I can feel my thighs rubbing together when I walk eeeewwww Blush

Anyway I decided I would eat what I want for first few weeks and concentrate on a routine with T and chilling when I can with DP. I have my six week check next Friday and on Monday I'm joining weight watchers. Excercise wise I'm just doing Davinas post natal workout at the moment and walking for two hours a day. Ill just stick to that for a few weeks and then up the excercise by doing the shred or Davinas regular workouts.

You must be getting a fair bit of exercise with your school run Beaut. We're away for most of the summer, I hope I'll be rather active during that time. I plan on joining WW when we get back to Brussels in September. They have meetings in English near us which I hope will keep me motivated.

NoForkNKnife · 19/06/2013 17:20

Another one whose depressed about weight. But I never had a 6 week check! I've done a few weeks of 5:2 diet and lost another 5lbs, not affected milk as such, but it's so hard with such a little one. I'm back down albeit 3 lbs, to my pre-pregnancy weight. But I've got another 3 stone to lose to be down to what I call my 'natural weight' that I'd spent the previous decade before kids.
But last time I found it pretty impossible to lose while I was bf. my body wouldn't drop the pounds. As soon as I stopped I lost some, but then my DH had his stroke and I gained another stone in a year and never really lost it.

A had her hip scan today. All clear. She however has been really fussy at the bottle today and actually refused it earlier. I panicked a bit as its so hot and was worried about her being dehydrated so offered her the breast. She fed brilliantly! I'm happy-but now worried as she needs the bottle for the high calorie formula. Waiting for her feed at 7 to see if she'll take the bottle ( refused 2 bottles this afternoon now Sad ).

NoForkNKnife · 19/06/2013 17:21

Oh, realise its unclear-I didn't diet until A was about 10 weeks so milk was definitely established (plus I have a freezer full!).

Boodstress · 19/06/2013 17:26

8 weeks on and I feel horrible, still feel very bloated / rounded which was confirmed at pre school pick up when a nursery child patted my stomach and said 'what's in there' . It's not helped by the fact I've just got my period so feel extra bloated. I never exercise cause running round after my two boys has always been enough but now I think I have to. Ill do WW online as I don't want to go to those meetings. Feel yuk!

InNeedofSomeSleep · 19/06/2013 18:21

Beaut - what is the davina work out like?? I also walk quite far most days so I'm counting that as exercise. I want to stay a size 12 this time. I'm normally a comfortable 14/16. Would be nice to stay like i am and be like I was when I met DH.

I've got a davina work out that I plan to do once I've had the call clear from doc. Forgot she had post natal one, might order it.

TigerSwallowTail · 19/06/2013 18:50

I couldn't get out as much or exercise while pregnant as I had spd so have put on quite a bit of weight. I've been trying to walk as much as I can, the school run is half an hour twice a day so every week day I'm walking an hour so hopefully that's helping. I'm managing to fit into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes but they're all really tight and I have a jelly belly too that I want to get rid of, and I can feel my thighs rubbing together too beaut Blush. I'm going to join a kickboxing class and try the 5:2 diet as soon as I reach 6 weeks, but W was only 2 weeks old on Monday there so I've still another 4 weeks to go.

Has anyone else tried the 5:2 diet? What did you eat on your 'fasting' days?

TigerSwallowTail · 19/06/2013 18:54

That's great about the hip checkup nofork. I got W's appointment letter through today to check her hips, we've to go next month.

Are you breast feeding 10? I vaguely remember from bf the last time being told that your body holds onto some weight while breast feeding and it's hard to shift it until you've stopped bf.

NoForkNKnife · 19/06/2013 21:07

Gosh we do sound a depressing lot! I think the sun has made it worse today-despite being 5lbs off last summers weight; I can't get into anything!

tiger fasting is hard on little sleep abd being at home all day. I find I can now fast until tea time without too much hunger. But as soon as I eat I can't stop! Due to bf I've been sticking to around 600-800 calories on a fast day instead of 500. I've hit a plateau for past 2.5 weeks and it's really discouraged me. Haven't done a fast day for over a week.

10 you really need to be easier on yourself. You've had a rough few months-some might say horrendous Wink. It's going to take its toll. I've always been a 12-14 too, but over the past 4 years it's crept up. First to a definite 14, and now a solid 16 ( and something's still don't fit). Just saying so you know you're not alone. I threw away all my size 12s a few months back. I'd LOVE to go out and buy some more.

I think the advice is not to diet when bf. especially for first 2 months.

A took the bottle at 7. But she's been a screaming nightmare! She's finally asleep, but she'd been awake for over 6 hours. Never had her screaming none stop like that. I really feel for you mums of the unsettled, colicky babes.

NoForkNKnife · 19/06/2013 21:10

tiger appt was really quick. They lie on a special mattress that makes them lie on their side.

The Davina post natal DVD is very easy and you don't really break a sweat whilst doing it but I am feel it afterwards. I think its enough for now as obviously our bodies are still recovering. After about 12 weeks ill move up to her regular DVDs Ive got about five of hers and rotate them as I get bored. I always notice a difference and even DP can notice I'm more toned when doing them.

I will be going to weight watchers purely for weigh in I don't like staying to meetings but need the discipline of a weigh in. Having suffered with eating disorders before pregnancy and a lil bit during I find it hard talking about my weight in public. I'm proud of myself though as since birth Ive eaten what I wanted. I think my metabolism has gone back to normal now so hopefully following an eating plan ill see a difference

We had a very unsettled T yesterday. He was grizzly all day long. Not sure if its the weather or because I changed him back to cow and gate 1. I think by the end of the day it was just tiredness as he slept for 6 hours last night had a half hour feed and then slept for another 3 and a half hours so I'm feeling a lot better this morning. Think ill try gripe water today as he is struggling with wind again

Oh no, 10! A was like that all afternoon yesterday but thankfully good overnight Blush. I was frazzled enough and it was normal waking hours.

Really worried about R and C Sad.

lollypopsicle · 20/06/2013 09:32

nofork I'm worried about them too. Keep checking fb in case of an update.
