Please give your baby's favourite foods so we can get some ideas from each other.

Dying's a tad dramatic

YellowWellies · 23/05/2013 08:32

Lily that video of your nephew sounds so cute.

MM, Chasing hugs one day you'll be with someone who makes you happy the majority of the time and pissed off / sad rarely - that's the way it should be. I think we've all hung on in relationships for too long because the 'good stuff' is very good when it happens. On balance if they make you Sad orAngry or Envy more than they make you feel Smile they're not the one for you. And MM look at your Ma she stuck with your Dad 'for the sake of the kids' she's finally found 'the one' now though and what a difference in how she's treated.

I've just had to wake Jonas up as we're off out early. I got ready and dressed then sat in his room and had a read on here until he woke. I realised that sat in the dark dressed in black I looked like a mummy ninja! Grin

Thanks wise quiche for thermometer advice DH bought one last night online going for Braun thermoscan and then a cheapy underarm one - if its good enough for VQ then I reckon its the right choice Smile - am so lucky to have you mummies to learn from.

Kyz how's Elyza today? xxxx

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 23/05/2013 08:40

I'm exhausted and was pretty much crying this morning. J up at 5:45 and DD not long after. DH told me to txt mil so she will be here at 9am to let me nap. J has been extremely grumpy since wakening so hoping he behaves for her and I get to rest.

horseylady · 23/05/2013 08:51

What vq said and someone else. There are occasions when6 months = 26 weeks. Here he was born on a Saturday and turned 6 months on the Saturday.

Not too bad here, 6am wake up so ok. Had cuddles in bed :)

Those if you with shit dp, there are some lovely men out there. Mine is one, most of the time :)

What's that matt det must say I was tempted with the baby sensory first birthday party lol!!

LuisGarcia · 23/05/2013 08:51

bryzoan congratulations, by the way. Smile

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 08:55

pig hugs and lots and lots of Brew

MM hugs from me. I think you know what you want to do but it may just take one thing to cement it in your mind. You earn your own money, you have a good support network. You know you could do it without him if you needed to.

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 08:57

Posted too soon...

...YW and horsey it is good to be reminded that there are good men out there and this is not a good relationship. But that shouldn't be my priority now, I need to make sure I create the best environment for O to grow up in. Considering moving back to my home town.

O may have slept well but I did not...Confused

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 09:11

Oh, meant to say yesterday....O's cousin fell and bumped his head yesterday. He was crying and instead of comforting him, SIL filmed him crying and sent it to everyone as she found it funny Angry

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2013 09:20

Huzzah for good sleep, Brew for those in need

My boys have just set off with the pushchair for a walk to the next village, round trip of 6 miles! I've got 2+ hours to do a massive overhaul of my living room to get it safe for crawling - i was a 7 monther and R looks like he's heading that way so i need the books on shelves, sewing machine and wires tidy, piano (electric) out of the way etc. Nice homestart lady is due at 10 so hopefully she won't mind helping Blush should have checked

Hope Elyza and J and any other poorly ones are ok?

Today I'm thankful for vvvdp and our current good health.

What are everyone's main parenting tenets? We want R to eat healthily and have good manners, figure academic stuff can be done at school.

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2013 09:23

Chasing let me know about that train. I run a monthly group and the next one is tomorrow afternoon. I can introduce you to some lovely new friends and convert you to cloth nappies and slings :)

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2013 09:26

Oh and Luis next week is half term so the ferry will be rammed. Monday Wednesday or Friday the following week? I'd love to meet L and Mrs Garcia, I'll even bring vvvdp for the full family affair if you like? You can talk football and poo while us girls talk shopping and poo Hmm

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 23/05/2013 09:26

Mil is here to rescue me. I've been sent to bed. Will get two hours sleep hopefully.

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2013 09:27

Gah!! And again!! Bryz, can you get to Lymington or is it too far?

"You can talk football"

I thought you said he is a Leeds fan?

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 09:54

pidj good question. My two aims are for O to be kind and to understand and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. I will make it to the south coast one day. And talk football and poo with your vvvvdp

Passmethecrisps · 23/05/2013 10:03

Morning.

Today I am thankful for saline and coffee!

Poor wee P has had a cold relapse and hasn't slept since 3. She is currently asleep on me and I have hot coffee.

Good question pp. I think I want P to have self-confidence, compassion and to have an interest in the world around her.

I heard David Attenborough (my secret crush) say that when he is asked "when did you start having an interest in nature?" He always answered "when did you stop having an interest". His view was that we are born fascinated but it is lost somewhere along the way.

Passmethecrisps · 23/05/2013 10:10

kyz YW of course gave excellent advice re little E. we were shown in the hospital how to adjust the bassinet and cot - they have handles on but some of the nurses had never used them. Well worth asking.

Also, keeping a baby upright in the middle of the night can be torturous especially with all the sleepy BF hormones whirling around. One of the consultants who saw P suggested popping her in the car seat for a while if desperate. I know this can present problems of its own - especially for a baby with breathing difficulties but it might be worth asking about. It's
Not a long term thing.

BigPigLittlePig · 23/05/2013 10:12

You wouldn't want it to be my foot vq

NEWSFLASH - DOCTORS SUCCESS Grin Grin Grin Grin

Lovely fit Irish locum, who has given me a prescription for Nutramigen AA (on repeat), referred to dietitan and paeds! Plus showered F with oodles of compliments whilst she beamed at him and waggled her legs frantically.

Passmethecrisps · 23/05/2013 10:14

Oh! And I am thankful for hairdressers as today I am off for the chop!

What should I get done? My criteria are: no low maintainance ; long enough to stick in a pony tail; a fringe to cover my massive forehead.

Passmethecrisps · 23/05/2013 10:15

Hooray for fit locum!

BigPigLittlePig · 23/05/2013 10:15

PP I would love for F to be polite, and tolerant, and to continue to have the same amazement at the world around her, because let's face it, the world's a pretty fascinating place and packed full of wonderful things to discover.
