Hello hot ladies!
I'm not fed up with the sunshine just yet, but the stonking weather has caused us to move Scarlett's cot back into our bedroom, as her room (in the loft) gets waaaaaay to hot during the day (even with the blackout blind down), and didn't drop below 21 degrees at any point last night... grrrrr!
Great idea with the sun tent Rach, I'd never thought of that. I've been down the local parks a lot (as our back garden is just a huge crater at the moment) with a picnic rug, but that sounds like a much better idea. I've also been inspired by mentions of the beach - I may venture down there next week (probably to Hengistbury Head as that's the closest to us) if the weather holds out!
I went through major hair loss a few weeks ago, but it seems to have calmed down now. It's silly 'cos I have enough hair for two at the best of times, so have absolutely no worries about my hair becoming thin, but even so it's quite upsetting seeing it all collect in the plughole like a small furbie. Even worse having to constantly pick it off the baby! Urgh.
Well Scarlett has taken to the baby whisperer routine like a star during the day - she now has two 2 hour naps and another afternoon catnap of around 40mins. I'm so pleased to finally have time to get stuff done, and even do some proper cooking/baking, which I have really missed.
Unfortunately though since introducing a dreamfeed into the nightime schedule her night wakings have become worse and worse. She had got herself into a nice little routine of going down around 7-8pm, waking at 3-4am for a feed and sleeping again until 7-7.30am. But for the past week she's been waking more and more frequently in the night, culminating in last night's record of SIX disturbances. And that included one absolute screaming/thrashing/scratching session which lasted over half an hour.
So I am giving up on the dreamfeed, and hopefully moving her into a cooler room might help too. It's so frustrating, because we've made such good progress in the daytime, but have taken about ten steps back at night. Poor DH is struggling on with work, but I can see that he's SO knackered. Well, I'm off to my parents' tomorrow, and DH will at least get one clear night's sleep to boost him!
Eshay - how is Alex doing? Have you recouped any sleep yet? What a shame you missed out on the festival as well. I would have been rather jealous though!
Lisa - really hope you get your gall stones sorted sooner. You always sound remarkably upbeat, when you have so much on your plate to cope with... I do admire you. What was the verdict on Lola's rash?
Barrelrider - we've been bathing with Scarlett quite a lot recently. It was suggested to us from the beginning as an easier way of bathing them when you don't have anyone else around to pass you a towel and so on. We certainly love it, and Scarlett can't get enough of the space to kick and splash around.
Welcome to Amber - no worries with the rolling. Scarlett showed no signs, but has suddenly started to get mobile (rolling onto back, pushing herself right up off the floor with straight arms etc.) within the past few days - we've been amazed at how quickly it all happened. In any case they all develop so differently, I expect Lizzie will suddenly catch up or even zoom past!
Lilstarry, where are you? Hope you've been having a good week, and not getting too tired with the new job.
Lyra, hope you're OK, haven't heard from you for a while... guess you're battling for time on the 'puter?
Right, that's more than enough from me!
