Morning everyone... Well, the sun finally put in an appearance! I'm rather pleased! Glad to hear everyone is well, and big nod of agreement on ideology vs/ reality. I always said I'd wait till 6 months for weaning.. not give her a dummy.. feed her whenever she wanted... However, I know now that ultimately babies have to lead the way with us parents trying to do our best to ensure they remain happy/healthy.

We just took a walk around the cemetery, that sounds a little odd, but it is absolutely beautiful - makes for a wonderful walk! The only downside was it made me think of my Dad, but I guess that's inevitable..All the talk of beaches has made me keen to take a trip, maybe if the weather holds it'll be on the cards for next weekend!

Iris66 - Really happy to hear about your dad, hope all the travelling didn't stress you out too much!
Loomer - How is the routine going? We don't have Bee on anything in particular, apart from at night time!
Eshay - I had no idea about the hair loss, however, I had been losing mine! So that makes sense! My hair is really short so I'm hoping I don't go bald :) As for the menstruation, I am fortunate because it's 1 year of no periods! I keep wondering how long it'll last! I'm not on any contraception, using condoms - I was really emotionally messed up by the contraceptive pill before, so I'm very weary!!
Nappies - I didn't think you sounded like a know-it-all! Although I've very Envy at your little one sleeping through! Bee wakes a few times, but doesn't get fed! So she goes from 11-7 without a feed.. I need to speak to a HV, I guess I want reassurance that it's ok for her to go that long. My theory is if she was really hungry she wouldn't settle back down straight away!
BabeLisa - I really feel for you, it can't be easy being without your partner, lots of respect and love - it takes SO much to do it on your own, I know when my partner is away until late at night I feel so tired..Sorry to hear about your gall-stones, I can't believe they give you so many problems :( Roll on the operation! Oh, and isn't it odd how even after giving birth I'm still scared of cutting myself or having an operation!Blush I'm glad to hear the medicine is helping! What a lovely idea as well - a holiday! Should be fun!
Rachel - How did Finn get on at the beach? Bee seems to enjoy sleeping more when it's warm, makes sense .. I know I like to snooze :)

I best be off, Bee has just finished her lunch (she takes after her dad and adores food!), just need to make lunch for the two of us now! Oh and I have an evening job - will be working in a restaurant answering phones - will see how it goes, twill be incredibly mundane but I guess that's a good thing!

Love and sunshine to all

Well, poor little Alex is still suffering from chickenpox. We have been having terrible nights with one of us staying up most of the night to give him calpol/nurofen/lotion/milk and to cuddle him to sleep. It is so sad to see the little man looking up at us with a whimpering cry. It's like he's run out of energy to cry properly. I have cried quite a lot too, I'm just a wreck and quite useless when he's upset or when he needs his lotion. Anyway, he seems to be a bit better today, sleeping a bit more calmly and I even got 2 little smiles today. When we're back in the UK I'll post a piccie of Mr Pox on the Yahoo site.

Lisa, so sory to hear about your galstones. I hope your party was a good one. Sorry we couldn't make it but good thing we didn't as Alex would have infected the gorgeous Lola for sure. I'll get in touch with you when I am back in Fbro.

As for ideology/reality: I am soooo guilty of having little Alex watch a lot of tv. DS1 never watched huge amounts but baby number 2 knows the Baby Einstein DVD by heart! Especially when DS1 was sick, Alex spent a whole week watching telly. Oh well, to him it's just nice lights and music. I can't wait for him to be well enough again to show an interest in the TV :)

NappiesGalore · 04/06/2006 20:14

Sad for alex eshay. you both have best wishes and E-hugs from me - i know how shattering it can be when theyre ill and youre so tired. and its soooooo sad to see them poorly. puts smaller things into perspective doesnt it?

best wishes.

and to you lisa too!

iris66 · 04/06/2006 20:20

hi all - hasn't it been a fabulously sunny weekend!!!Smile Hope you all had plenty of sunshine too. The only down side is that it's so warm in the evenings I'm having trouble settling Dominic. Took me 3/4 hour of rocking him whilst he wailed himself to sleep tonight. Every attempt I made to put him in his cot before he was actually asleep was met by him cranking up the volume & screaming like I was killing him!!! I sort of wish I was strong enough to just close the door & leave him to it but I just can't bring myself to when he seems so distressed Sad. Apart from that I've just about got him back into some sort of routing after all the visiting - it played havoc with his (and therefore my) sleep pattern but he slept for 5 hours solid last night(12-5)for the first time in weeks so I'm hoping we may be turning a corner.

Eshay - hair loss - one word - pants Sad. Mine seems to be slowing down too now (thank goodness!)but I was shedding like an afghan! I've got really fine hair so although it's short it looks really ratty now. I may have to take to hats this summer so I don't burn my bonce!Grin

Georgie - Nouvel... hmmmm - yup that's bog roll Grin Wouldn't be in my top ten but variety/spice of life etc... is her pet name going to be "Noo Noo" I wonder Wink

Lisa - happy belated birthday!!! sorry that you ended up in hospital though - any news on when your op will be? Sounds like you could really do with the holiday to chill out. Know what you mean about getting loads done whilst DH is away. Mine's away a lot too(currently in the middle of another 3 week stint) and the house is always great until about an hour after he walks through the door - bless him. I'm sure his Iraq/Afghanistan det will fly by next year though.
Hope everyone else has a good week - no plans here - got to fly - LO bawling x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 05/06/2006 19:23

Just a quickie before I cook supper. Both girls tucked up and pushing out the zzz's

Lisa - happy birthday chick. Rotten luck to end up in hospital on a drip. Reall;y hope the op sorts out those gall stones. They sound completely agonising. And hope that you and Lola are OK whilst DH away. Please give him HUGE hug/pat on back/round of applause/large pint of beer for being a brave brave man. We're all here for you. Between us you'll have plenty of support to get you thru.

Eshay - am so Sad for Alex. Poor wee lamb. Have you tried medised? Not sure if you're ok with giving your kids medication, but it might help him (and you) sleep for a couple of hours. Really hope he gets better soon.

Lilstary - great news about the job.

Iris - good to hear from you chick. You're just a big softie aren't you! .

Any hoo. Better go cook something for his lordship before he gets pissed on the wine again Grin

Oh, have got stuff I need to ask you guys, but will try and post tomorow when have more time. Need womanly advice and battle plans!

G xx

BBWBabeLisa · 06/06/2006 18:01

Hiya Girls

Well I saw the surgeon at the end of February and he said there was about a 6 month waiting list. I'm seeing him again on Tuesday next week just to see how things are going so with any luck he'll be able to be more specific on the timing.

barrelrider · 06/06/2006 18:35

Hi all, not been on for ages. Things great here!
Dominic slowing down on the weight gain, he's 19 weeks and 'only' about 17lb, so not even 91st percentile any more!! Also very tall. He's taken to shrieking like a parrot when we're in the public and flirts shamelessly with anyone who comes for a look. Huge blue eyes and pale/bald hair, nothing like me or his dad to look at!!

Haven't weaned yet, tried the rice and he wasn't impressed so leaving at that for now, might try some veggies but can't see the rush in his case -he sleeps 8.30 til 6 every night and wakes up for a chat rather than a feed!

Looked at Gina Ford and it made me laugh! So complicated, so many rules and exceptions (if your baby is up before 10.15 try delaying the feed for half an hour if there is an 'R' in the month. However, if your hair is auburn don't try this unless his first smile was on a Thursday, in which case push the feed forwards by quarter of an hour at the most and only if he is kept awake for AT LEAST an hour afterwards... etc).

My doodaa has stopped hurting Grin Grin Grin (although I STILL haven't dared sex yet, it's probably more of a psychological issue now?!)

Eshay - with you on the hair loss and periods!!! Luckily I have too much hair but it's making bath time a bit messy!! Speaking of which, has anyone tried getting in the bath with baby? I'm not sure you're even supposed to do this, but I've been really really careful and it's totally lovely. Dominic just lies back on my tummy sucking his fist and kicking his little legs. Cute!

Rach, how did the beach go? We live at the seaside so we're down there all the time. Lvoely :) Lucky you getting Finn to sleep til 8-9 but bad luck on 4am feed (

Georgie - gym?? What's that then??

NG - I'm a Bournemouth gal, might see you on the beach?!!

Iris - with you on the sleeping thing, can't leave my Dominic to settle/scream on his own either. Bit worried about what will happen when he starts at nursery next week to be honest - how will they deal with it? He can get scarily tired and needs a lot of calming down, will they know what to do I wonder?? Although since the nursery is just over the road from work, presumably if I open the window I will be able to hear his attempts at sleep!!

Must go, it's 18.15 and he's still on the afternoon nap, what would Gina say?xxx

iris66 · 06/06/2006 20:35

Barrelrider - "sleeps 8.30 'til 6" !!! EnvyEnvyEnvy (didn't realise you were from Bournemouth - lovely place. I used to live in Weymouth!)

Georgie - the words "rod" and "made one for my own back" spring to mind SadSadSad

Lisa - 6 months waiting list!!!!! ShockShockShock (hope all goes well next Tue & they bring it forward for you)

Lilstarry - How's the new job going?

Sweetkitty / Lyra - how are things? Long time no see hons Smile

iris66 · 06/06/2006 21:24

ps - sorry for the short posts (have named them power posts - a bit like my son's sleeps!!!! Wink)

Eshay - Hope Alex is a bit brighter today - nothing worse than being poorly when it's hot - poor mite Sad
Hope everyone else is keeping well - only news here is that I burned my bum & backs of my legs today (that'll teach me to try a sneaky bikini session in the garden with no lotion on!! Blush) off to apply cold flannels .....

Beauregard · 06/06/2006 22:23

sweetkitty · 07/06/2006 15:32

hello ladies long time no post so to speak nice to be missed though Smile don't know where the time goes they are both asleep and I'm just out the shower so thought I would catch up with you all. Beautiful sunny day here too v unusual for Scotland!

Talia is doing great, rolling over now and moving all over the carpet. She seems to be growing again (when will it end?) but is utterly adorable, all chatty and raspberries. Am still hanging off on the weaning she's not even 5 months yet so plenty of time she will definately be getting food next month anyway. She and Abbie are just great together, they just smile at each other all the time and Abbie is always trying to fetch her toys and interact with her. She's also become very defensive at toddlers if another toddler or mum for that matter comes up to Talia she's straight over to her "Tee-tee" as she calls her. It's very cute.

I'm doing OK well as well as you can with 2 under 2 and no help whatsoever well apart from DP when he can. The house is a tip but I refuse to be inside doing housework when it's this nice (I'll do it again when it's raining). Have lost even more weight as my size 10 clothes are way too big now which is a bad thing as I can't afford a new wardrobe. I am still eating loads though it's probably because I never sit still.

I also thought I would never give my children a dummy, watch TV, eat junk food etc but that's all gone to pot too. I found reusuables too difficult with the 2 of them Scottish weather and no tumble drier so will probably have a landfill dedicated to me soon. Abbie has discovered Jammie Dodgers and would eat them all day if I let her but I do give in for a bit of peace.

eshay - so sorry to hear about your little men and the chicken pox and your concert too, hope they make a speedy recovery soon. My hair is always all over this house so I haven't noticed any difference tbh. I haven't had a period yet either which is odd as with Abbie I had them like clockwork 4 weeks after the lochia finished. I think it's because Talia is such a milk monster.

Iris - ouch on the sunburn I got a bit too I always seem to miss a bit with the lotion and the sun finds it.

Nappies galore - I don't know how you do it either I'm bad anought with just the two of them. For erm relations DP and I actually plan it out totally unromantic but necessary Saturday 10pm have sex! We're using condoms too haven't sorted out minipill yet, am a bit nervous about getting pregnant again though.

barrelrider - good to see you am very Envy at your little man sleeping through too!

Lisa - so sorry to hear about your gallstomes hun seems so cruel for them to keep you waiting that long when you are in pain and having a baby to look after too Angry I hope you enjoy your hol with your mum.

lilstarry - how's the job going? A few hours out the house doing something mundane appeals to me right now.

Sorry to anyone I have missed better be going going to whizz around with a duster and glass cleaner (don't know why the little fingerprints appear as fast as I get rid of them) and dry my hair hopefully before I hear cries from upstairs. Take care all will try and get on more often.

wherethewildthingsare · 07/06/2006 15:45

Hi all - this is me Rach, fancied a name change but feel free to call me Rach so I remember who I am!

Ok, moan first - last week I had a cold which no-one else got now I have horrid D&V (I reckon) from a pub meal on Sunday night - never eating BBQ chicken again :( Envy (that is green for lurgy!) feel utterly sh*te and washed out, even the thought of sunshine on my head induces a migraine. Luckily no-one else has got it so far and dp is following me round with a bottle of bleach. Of course this has co-incided with Finn not sleeping well in the hot weather so we are all a little fraught. Beware all children due home from school who need to explain why Billy ate two packets of jaffa cakes and a box of weetabix this morning!

Ok, rant over! I just hope my starvation will kick start mydiet! The beach was fab, although we live on the edge of the Gower, the most accessible beaches are massively overcrowded especially on weekends in half term so we went to Pembrey Country Park where the beach is huge and only a 5min saunter from the car. It was a trial run really without the older kids to see how we would manage with Finn. We went after 3pm and stayed till about 6 - it was lovely and quite quiet at that time. I carried him in a sling which was so much better than fighting with a buggy and the pop-up sun tent (50SPF) was light and easy - I thoroughly recommend it (£25 from Mothercare - great for garden/park/beach etc) I took his nappy off and let him kick on a towel inside the tent and he was happy for ages, I even fed him in the tent. He is so active now, rolling over, loving his door bouncer and teething - gumming my nipples (ouch!)

Lisa - sorry to hear about the gallstones, a friend of mine had them out and it really changed her life.

Nappiesgalore - I take Cerazette minipill and you have a leeway of 12 hrs, I think it stops ovulation too, despite being a POP. I had the mirena and it was great but I can't stand the thought of that initial heavy bleeding.

Barrelrider - are you going back to work? I am currently researching nurseries - they are £28+ here, how does that compare with Bournemouth?

Iris - I think I'dbetter learn to power post! Grin

wherethewildthingsare · 07/06/2006 15:52

Hey Sweetkitty, I do very little housework apart from tidying, cleaning kitchen/bathroom and trying to keep the floors clean after the dog. I think we have our priorities right!

Oh and Eshay poor you with the chickenpox, hope Alex is getting better - have you tried calamine ointment? It kinda sticks to the spots. I had it really badly aged 22, I couldn't put a finger between spots - had them EVERYWHERE! I got pregnant with ds1 a few months later but then he got it too at 9 months despite me bf him - he was really poorly. Ds2 and dd had it aged 4 and 2, they just had a few spots and were only really ill for a couple of days.

BBWBabeLisa · 08/06/2006 13:47

Aarrgghh I hate this heat! I know most folks are thrilled it's sunny but give me the middle of winter every time! I hate heat, unless I'm lying by a pool with an icy cocktail.
To top it off, Lola has a massive rash all up her back, starting in her nappy and going to her shoulders. It's probably just a heat rash but have a doctor's appt at 4.50 just to get it checked out. I've been trying to keep her cool, she's sleeping in just a cotton sleepsuit, no vest, and a 1 tog (really thin) sleeping bag. Dya think thats still too much? She seems happy enough with it and is back to sleeping 8 til 8. Oh well, will see what doc says.

sweetkitty · 08/06/2006 15:46

hi Rach like the new name you were confusing me though when I saw it I thought "who's this?" Hope you are feeling a bit better today.

Lisa - I'm sure Lola just has a heat rash or maybe a reaction to a change in washing powder/conditioner/bath products/creams etc. Abbie had loads of rashes as a baby and suffered from a bit of dry skin. We used Diprobase cream for the dry skin and oil stuff (emoillent) for the bath. Hydrocortisone cream is also good if they do have a rash. I slop aqueous cream on my two after a bath and their skin is lovely and soft. When Abbie was born in July 04 she was in a vest only for the first 8 weeks of her life practically sometimes only a nappy. As a first time parent we had a room thermometer for safety and it never got below 30degrees! Talia is just in a sleepsuit and one blanket at night until she finds her way under our duvet (bad mummy alert)!

I'm dreading her going onto solids too as I found thats when the dreaded nappy rash started with Abbie once they are eating food. Even now the minute Abbie has done a poo you have to change her as it will strip the skin from her bum. We tried everything to get rid of it. So far Talia has been fine but I've a feeling it will all change soon.

She loves her door bouncer too she's really into it (took Abbie a fair few months to get the hang of it) I think they love the new perspective of being upright. Have to watch though as Abbie likes to give her a "swing". Speaking of which I'm going to be a bit contraversial in that I hate baby walkers with a passion. I think they are huge ugly bits of plastic that seem to attract grime and bits of food like a magnet. I hate to see babies in them for hours with juice and biscuits in the tray. My Mum offered to buy me one when I said I wasn't getting one for Abbie as it will strengthen her legs trying to explain to her that they are banned in several countries for health and safety reasons and they have found that it actually delays walking (only by a few weeks) as it holds the babies weight and they don't put weight on their feet well I was going nowhere fast. Have decided against one again as you are only supposed to use them for about 30 mins a day and it's another bit of plastic to clean and hog up the lounge. Sorry rant over. Blush

Anyway I hope everyone is enjoying the good weather I'm off to have a cool drink and a rest before I hear crying from upstairs.

sweetkitty · 08/06/2006 15:46

oh triple Envy at Lola Lisa for going 8 to 8, Talia is up 3 times from 8 to 8 for milk!

iris66 · 08/06/2006 20:49

Hi all Smile
busy busy week! Dom has mastered rolling over, turning himself around and launching himself forwards using his face to stop himself this week!! talk about all of a sudden! I can't leave him anywhere now - even the floor's dodgy as he seems to move so fast & because his legs are so strong he can get himself out of his baby nest too (albeit face first after tipping himself out of it!) A friend lent us a door bouncer so I think I'll have to get it out. I wasn't quite sure what age it was for but as you're all using them it must be now.Yay!

Sleep is still a distant dream (11,2,4,5,6,7 last night Sad) but DH gets home Sun so his task will be to comfort Dom for as many nights as necessary to cure him of his need for the mummy dummy - not looking forward to it but I'm so sleep deprived I just want to cry so it's got to be done!)

Lisa - I'm going right off the sunshine too - love it in short bursts but we're all getting a bit too hot & bothered here now & it's set to get even hotter by Sat Sad
Dom's all heat rashy too. His tum's the worst & he keeps grappling wodges of flesh in his fists so he's got weals from his nails too - looks like I've been thrashing him! Like Sweetkitty, I find aqueous cream works wonders. Your covers sound fine to me. Dom's been going down in just in a vest & thin sheet. I put a cotton blanket over him around 10ish when the temp drops but he invariably kicks the lot off when he wakes up & doesn't seem overly warm or cool. I had him outside in his nuddy pants under a sunshade for a couple of hours this afternoon whilst I basked (I know - glutton for punishment! - figured I just as well get the rest of me burnt to match my backside Grin) and he's most definately acquainted himself with his bits now - I ended up having to put his nappy back on to stop him pulling his new toy off!!

On the subject of nappies - anyone finding fluffles are making their babies really hot? Suppose it's because they're not a natural fibre but I'm sort of regretting buying so many. I've just ordered some original totsbots to go with my ME & will see if they're any better. If so I may sell off some of the fluffles (anyone interested - now I've ruined my sales pitch??)

Rach - like the new name. Been thinking about changing mine ever since I had Dom (mainly because DH & DD both know my current one) but can't think of one I like.....
Hope you're over your D&V now (horrific when you're trying to look after everyone else I'll bet!) & ta for the sunshade tip!

Pelvicfloornomore - how did your appointment go? Hope it was a positive day for you.

Anyway going to have a quick splosh in the bath & try to get a couple of hours kip in before his nibs wakes. TTFN Wink

Hello hot ladies!

I'm not fed up with the sunshine just yet, but the stonking weather has caused us to move Scarlett's cot back into our bedroom, as her room (in the loft) gets waaaaaay to hot during the day (even with the blackout blind down), and didn't drop below 21 degrees at any point last night... grrrrr!

Great idea with the sun tent Rach, I'd never thought of that. I've been down the local parks a lot (as our back garden is just a huge crater at the moment) with a picnic rug, but that sounds like a much better idea. I've also been inspired by mentions of the beach - I may venture down there next week (probably to Hengistbury Head as that's the closest to us) if the weather holds out!

I went through major hair loss a few weeks ago, but it seems to have calmed down now. It's silly 'cos I have enough hair for two at the best of times, so have absolutely no worries about my hair becoming thin, but even so it's quite upsetting seeing it all collect in the plughole like a small furbie. Even worse having to constantly pick it off the baby! Urgh.

Well Scarlett has taken to the baby whisperer routine like a star during the day - she now has two 2 hour naps and another afternoon catnap of around 40mins. I'm so pleased to finally have time to get stuff done, and even do some proper cooking/baking, which I have really missed.

Unfortunately though since introducing a dreamfeed into the nightime schedule her night wakings have become worse and worse. She had got herself into a nice little routine of going down around 7-8pm, waking at 3-4am for a feed and sleeping again until 7-7.30am. But for the past week she's been waking more and more frequently in the night, culminating in last night's record of SIX disturbances. And that included one absolute screaming/thrashing/scratching session which lasted over half an hour.

So I am giving up on the dreamfeed, and hopefully moving her into a cooler room might help too. It's so frustrating, because we've made such good progress in the daytime, but have taken about ten steps back at night. Poor DH is struggling on with work, but I can see that he's SO knackered. Well, I'm off to my parents' tomorrow, and DH will at least get one clear night's sleep to boost him!

Eshay - how is Alex doing? Have you recouped any sleep yet? What a shame you missed out on the festival as well. I would have been rather jealous though!

Lisa - really hope you get your gall stones sorted sooner. You always sound remarkably upbeat, when you have so much on your plate to cope with... I do admire you. What was the verdict on Lola's rash?

Barrelrider - we've been bathing with Scarlett quite a lot recently. It was suggested to us from the beginning as an easier way of bathing them when you don't have anyone else around to pass you a towel and so on. We certainly love it, and Scarlett can't get enough of the space to kick and splash around.

Welcome to Amber - no worries with the rolling. Scarlett showed no signs, but has suddenly started to get mobile (rolling onto back, pushing herself right up off the floor with straight arms etc.) within the past few days - we've been amazed at how quickly it all happened. In any case they all develop so differently, I expect Lizzie will suddenly catch up or even zoom past!

Lilstarry, where are you? Hope you've been having a good week, and not getting too tired with the new job.

Lyra, hope you're OK, haven't heard from you for a while... guess you're battling for time on the 'puter?
Right, that's more than enough from me!

Hello M'lovelies, sorry to hear some of you aren't enjoying the sun.. I am such a sunny-bunny, I love this time of year! Fortunately Bee seems to like it too! She finds the application of sun-cream absolutely hilarious - very cute!
How is everyone? Well, I am fine. Although, jobless! I can't believe it - I quit after my first shift, with good reason - it was awful. Tiny little room with two girls who didn't speak English, no air-conditioning, the training consisted of 10 minutes introduction to a rather complex computer system. I came home and felt awful, realised I was fortunate enough not to need the £££ desperately, so have decided to enjoy my time with DP&Bee.. I will be earning some money when I start caring for my friends baby 2 days a week :)
So that's that ... I felt like such a quitter, I'm not used to being unemployed, I've had a job alongside studying since 16! This is the first time I've been home so much, but I keep telling myself I am working my bee-hind off raising a baby!

Eshay - How is Alex, poor little bean! Hopefully he's better and you're feeling a little less stressed.

BRider - Glad your doodaa isn't hurting :) This may be TMI, but here I go - DP and I were using ribbed condoms and I thought I was dying on the inside, figured I wasn't healed properly, however we've realised it's the ribbed condoms and not me. Oops. Does the sunshine affect anyone else's libido? I just don't feel particularly interested - far too hot and sticky. Yuk.

Iris - Love the power posts, I tend to ramble (sorry!) Wow, Dom sounds as if he'll be keeping you on your toes! Ouch at the lack of sleep! Bee was going from 11-7 with no feed, still waking but settling well. I've taken to feeding her a bit during the night. No idea what is best.. Hoping she'll gradually settle and sleep better.. watch this space :o As for fluffles, I don't think we have those (a miracle as I have almost everything else - the addiction is very much here!). I swear by the original tots-bots, they were fantastic when Bee was exclusively BF!

Pelvic - isn't it funny/scary when they throw a mini-paddy. I don't think Bee has much of a temper, but she can get in a tiz if we're eating and she isn't Shock. Am I bad mummy for letting her holler? I figure if there's nothing actually wrong she can learn to use her vocal chords without getting her every whim pandered to immediately.

SK - good to hear from you! Aww your two sound absolutely adorable, it's wonderful they get along so well!So much respect for you, I can't imagine how stressful it is!Make sure you don't loose too much weight! Poor Abbies bum :( Gosh, that sounds terrible. Apparently dipping a silk liner in camomile tea then putting it into a nappy helps, I'm sure it'd work in a disposable too!

Rach - Love the name change!Hope you are feeling better? Sounds awful! I brought a sun tent after hearing your success! Although our Mothercare don't have them instock (??). Logical that! Got one from Babies R Us, it's huge but really light, taking it to the beach tomorrow.. So thanks :)

Amber - I love the name Ruby, we considered it for our daughter but there was already one in the family! Welcome, do come back, we're a quirky but lovely bunch (well I'm quirky heh!)

Loomer - You made me laugh with your hair furbie reference :o It's fab that Scarlett is on a good daytime routine, I'm sure the night times will sort themselves out! I read the other day that the mechanism that teaches a child to sleep properly doesn't develop until at least 6 months and prior to that babies will wake and sleep in strange patterns. I guess it's a little reassuring to hear we're all up most nights...

I must dash, I started this post this morning, it's now 5-30 and Bee is eating her tea! Been in the sun most of the day, very fab!
Love to you all xxx

Just got home from a&e again. Was ambulanced in this evening after the 24 hours from hell, trying to look after Lola single handed while simultaneously vomitting every five minutes (and I do mean every 5 minutes). She was a wee doll most of the time and let me give her her bottle in her bouncy chair, as I couldn't pick her up without puking, and the rest of the time cbeebies entertained her. Tests tonight showed I have an infection in my gall bladder now and liver problems because of the bile backing up. Have been put on 2 sets of anti-bio's and when I see doc on Tuesday I expect he'll bring op forward. Off to bed now, drugged up to eyeballs! Gotta love intra-venous morphine!

Oh Lisa you poor darlin' - I do hope you're feeling a bit brighter now. Have you got anyone you can get to help you? Fingers crossed that they'll book you in for your op as soon as poss!! ((hugs))

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 11/06/2006 07:59

Just grabbing some time whilst all relatively quiet. Libby had breakfast and is in bouncy chair watching CBeebies. DH in bed snoring after getting home from Germany late last night 3 sheets to the wind after watching footie. Moo with her daddy.

Lisa - jeez mate. It sounds as if you';re going thru the wringer a bit. Really hope that your op is soon. Sounds as if you need it urgently.

Rach - love the new name. Mollie's got the book with the same name and loves it!And am with you on the sun tent. They are great. Only prob is folding the damn things up again after you've finished with it. Always end up cursing and stuffing it back in willy nilly.

Hi Amber. Nice to have you with us.

Mumfun. Hello! Was wondering how things were going with you.

Iris - much laughing from me about Dom's new toy Grin. Boys of any age are just fasciniated by their bits aren't they.

Loomer - am v Envy at Scarlett's two 2 hour naps. Libs still not quite cracked the 45 min nap cycle. Some days better than others. Will have to take a look at Baby Whisper book. Any advice on how to get the magic 2 hour nap?

SK - What's the secret to the weight loss? Run around after my two all day and still 6lbs over weight. Just the jelly tummy. Mind you, guess that will come back in time and with 1,000's of sit ups! Ugh. Moo same as Abbie. V protective over Libby. V nice to see. Am sure it'll only last for another 10 years as they'll soon be arguing over make-up, clothes and boys Grin.

B'rider - glad that your hoo-ho is feeling better. It's got to have been v painful for you.

Libby not rolling over yet. She can support herself on her legs and stand up whilst holding onto side of sofa and she's sitting up by herself for a little while. V smiley and vocal!

Have I missed anyone? Sorry if I have.

Had rather peculiar week. Spent Friday morning with ex-h, his new partner, their new daughter and Lib by cheering Moo on at her sports day. She won her running race (she's got her mothers long legs and pace!). Bit weird. Had perma-smile firmly glued to face and have now mastered art of polite conversation Grin. Moo was happy as a pig in mud because she had everyone there. And that's all that matter really. Then had to go to mediation with ex-h to discuss him throwing toys out of pram because we're wanting to move 20 miles down the road. Honestly, you#d think that we wanted to move to bloody Cornwall. Anyway, 2 hours and £164 quid later he'd clamed down and we're OK to move. Not that we could have done anything to stop us, but I'd have hated it if it'd impacted too much on his and Moo's realtionship.

It's my 28th (ahem....I mean 36th...shush, don't tell anyone) birthday on Friday and I'm having an 80's house party. Got the cheesy dee-jay and bartenders to make us pina colada's, harvey wallbangs and long island ice teas! Mum has even found my first 'ball gown'. Rather fetching gun metal grey satin puff ball creation Grin Shock that I'll wear. Have to try and find DH pastel suit a la Don Johson. Friends hubby coming as Rick Astley Grin. Am sure there will be plenty of crimes against fashion Grin.

Right, her ladyship is getting restless so better sign off. Have a great day everyone.

G xx
