And YW and PR your posts big made me smile. P went in her carrycot for the first time today. Physically she is so tiny still but she develops every single day. She is such a lot of fun - she is my best pal. I love this stage.

Clarella · 01/05/2013 20:48

oh you poor thing evil. you're having a rubbish time at the mo. hugs.

I fell off the thread around then yw so missed your nightmare, sounds horrendous Sad .we're not that bad and there's no family history of allergies though it sounds like I had bad reflux till I was 6 months. I've just read a very concise lll article on reflux and it describes so much of what we've dealt with. tt didn't help as he swallowed so much air and getting it snipped did help. interested to read it usually comes out between 2 and 4 months - us to a tea.

just had a massive screaming fit after going to sleep for a while after feed. he was upright too. I didnt give as much gavisgon today Sad no burps to be had though. am also a little concerned that he's increasingly snuffly and wheezy. hoping omeprozole will be here tomorrow or Friday. lovely pharmacist.Smile

wish dp was hereSad

Clarella · 01/05/2013 20:58

thanks pass. I've always felt it was a functional issue with feeding - latch, choking, swallowing causing pain and then he works out feeds equal pain. always better when sleepy. getting into positions are often difficult which is described in the lll article. but will look again at dairy.

btw I did find 2 chocolates that were dairy free, will find links.

Clarella · 01/05/2013 21:00

kinnerton was one, can't find the other.

ChasingDaisy · 01/05/2013 21:04

Clarella and evil you are both really going through it at the moment. Having a supportive partner must make a big difference. I know you were having some issues with yours evil, how are you getting on at the moment?

Lily I have been thinking about you - how have the move preparations been going? Any success with dropping the 3am feed?

Pass, funnily enough I was thinking just that today. When I am getting O to sleep he has a special type of cry that I know means 'Mummy, I'm really tired, I want to be asleep. Why aren't I asleep mummy?'

He is also my best buddy and such a fun little thing. I found out by accident yesterday that he loves playing with my scarves - light, summer ones, rather than thick winter ones - I throw them over him and he loves it! He also loves standing up leaning over the back of the sofa, he is supported but feels like he is standing alone. He gives me the best smile and chuckles as if to say 'Mummy, look at this, this is sooo fun!'

The way he looks at me and follows me round the room is awesome. God, I love him.

I really must stop watching relationship-y programmes Yes, I watched All Star Mr & Mrs to see my guilty crush as they make me very sad Sad. Seeing people so in love with their partners is a bit heartbreaking for me at the moment, although heart warming at the same time.

Pikz · 01/05/2013 21:14

Massive hugs to tits, evil, Clarella and VQ Thanks and to anyone else I've missed.

We went to the seaside today. LO loves it and spent ages squishing sand between his toes. He's now sound asleep with pink cheeks.

DP just turned up with some fizz for my birthday tomorrow. Can't believe this time last year I was 11 weeks and crossing everything for that scan. Now my little bud is here and he's ace.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 01/05/2013 21:17

pass I loved the fact he had a nap in Ikea!! Ah, it was lovely, dime cake....mmmmmmm!

We are still attempting the bottle giving routine, its going ok. But still won't go down til 10:30pm and wakes up for a feed after 3/4 hours. Then sleeps again for a bit.

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 21:28

DS1 was a timid baby. Timid child really. Until 6. He is anything but timid now Shock. Going to my mums school brought a louder more confident side to him.

O is the opposite, he's social. Smiles for everyone. He's not used to being passed around, but if he does, he is fine with it.

But having 2 different children, there is nothing wrong with either!

Every baby and child will be different. So don't sweat it, and don't let anyone else make you feel you are doing anything wrong! You can't change a childs natural instinct!

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 21:29

So, two bottles of mixed formula down, got 5oz in first time, 7oz second time.

Will carry on with 5/3 tomorrow, when should I try and increase it, and by how much?

Ideas?!

Clarella · 01/05/2013 21:30

happy birthday for tomorrow pikz Smile

thanks chasing but I'm ok. and very grateful to dh who is now very supportive. he was hell bent on sleep training a while ago and I wasn't good then as felt like bf caused all the issues to stop him sleeping but at same time .bf was how I feed and nourish him. felt too pressured by dhs militancy.

been looking at cmpi and I don't feel it's us.

what a beautiful post chasing about your lo. we got g a door bouncer - he loves being on his feet - and he looked so proud to be 'standing' up! it is a lovely age Smile

Passmethecrisps · 01/05/2013 21:37

Isn't it great when they do the 'look at meee!' Face.

P has real preferences with people. Today I was trying to feed her in DH's office when a colleague popped in to say hi. P was exhausted and hungry but pushed the bottle away to smile then cooed and chatted to this total stranger. Wouldn't take her eyes off her.

I love seeing parts of P's personality develop. I have been painfully shy and I hope she isn't that but if she is then so be it. If is not a crime for your baby to be comforted by your presence

daisychain76 · 01/05/2013 21:44

Evening, sorryyou are having rough times evil, clarella, tits, gt and all the others l have no doubt missed.

Well tomorrow it will have been a week since H deecided not to sleep. Or, more precisely, only to sleep when held by mee/dh all night. Literally. lf we put him down it?s just a constant whinge. Not a full on cry, but too much to just leave. lf you do leave him he just never stops. Tried calpol, bonjela, gripe water and infacol in various combinations. To make it worse he now has a cough and coldd too (don?t think the 2 are connected as the not sleeping started a lot earlier). Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome. DH and I are just dreading each night now.

BigPigLittlePig · 01/05/2013 21:46

Yesterday it was 1 year since my bfp Grin late to the bfp party I know

I LOVE that F only has eyes for me. Love it. Someone commented at baby group yesterday, that she was hanging on my every word. I love the bond that we have, and that she is part of me, and I am part of her.

Going to bed now. Will be sniffing Fs yummy baby smell as I pass...

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 22:15

Where is everyone?!

StuntNun · 01/05/2013 22:18

daisychain76 · 01/05/2013 22:27

I am here. Just put H down and no whinging for 5 mins. Please let it last. yw you have made me hungry!

PetiteRaleuse · 01/05/2013 22:28

Night all. It is a lovely age I agree. Everything is fascinating and their characters are starting to be clearer.

kirrinIsland · 01/05/2013 22:28

Hi everyone. Just been skim reading as this is the first time I've got on here all day and there are rather a lot of posts to get through and both the girls are asleep so I'm going to go to bed myself now - might get an hour or 2 before N wakes for her first feed.

N slept better last night - I'm assuming because DP had her and not me. I did suggest he did all the nights as he was so good at it but he wasn't falling for that Grin. And DD1 only woke once so I did pretty well for sleep last night :)

Hugs to those still suffering Flowers

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 22:38

I just had to eat a kit kat as I was drooling at the thought of doughnuts AND muffins!

I've lost 5lb so far in 5 days btw :)

Woohoo!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 01/05/2013 22:44

Jam doughnut muffins. Lord. I need those!

Tried to catch up but my eyes are closing. Cant remember what I was going to say, except that the poopy cat shit rug story made me laugh. I hate cats. :o

Thanks Det its reassuring to think that its just a long process rather than I havent got through to the next bit!

Hope we all have better nights tonight!

Night all. :)

Kyzordz · 01/05/2013 22:55
