Poopy carpets and dead birds! I'm so not a cat person.

How can I be so exhausted when I'm literally doing nothing.

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/05/2013 11:53

I'm not a cat person either. I can't handle the dead things. Having said that next doors cat treats our house like her own. She's here now. The people that lived here before had a cat so we have a cat flap at our back door. DH opened it so Millie uses it. We look after her when our neighbours go on holiday and she's bought in a couple of dead mice before....yuk. Luckily they have at least been dead and not half dead, that would be worse. And she has the decency not to poo in our house, yet. The day she does I will be firmly locking that cat flap!

I had to wake up both DD's this morning. Very upsetting! They were both still fast asleep at gone 8am and I needed to get DD1 to preschool. God knows what I did yesterday to tire them both out. We did spend most of the day at the park. Think we will have a picnic in the garden once DD1 is back from preschool. Have a good day all.

StuntNun · 01/05/2013 12:14

You are not doing nothing you are making a baby.

FC for a long nap for J, house viewing at 6 p.m. and I'm nowhere near ready yet.

Nervous shit scared about tonight, not sure I'm up to it Confused

Kyzordz · 01/05/2013 12:58

Good luck pp

In a nutshell mums fucking stitches cunting burst fucking working cleaning cooking washing for a house of about 10 i think, school runs looking after Eric all but feeding elyza and dying whilst doing the above. Tbf elyza is easy and Eric is being good but it's alot to do!

Am not superwoman but thankyou for thinking so. Am clearly only human as have huge headache, no energy and a fucked knee somehow!

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2013 13:13

Been having fun with Tax Credits today. They do not count you as working when you are in the final three months of mat leave. Fuckers. Need to go back sooner and have Annual Leave and/or unpaid leave otherwise payments stop. Also they calculate income Annually. The fact I will be on fuck all for 4 months then full pay and need the money now... They calculate income annually, but all other expenses like childcare monthly. Fuckers!

And the mortgage company will not give us a payment holiday....

And DH had not been paying off the credit card each month as did not want to worry me...

Just as well I am in a positive happy mood eh? Grin

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2013 13:15

kyz look at it this way, having just Eric will seem piss easy after this! You are doing an awesome job. Hope your mum's wound heals soon - poor thing x

ChasingDaisy · 01/05/2013 13:43

VQ you have my sympathies, I am currently trying to sort out a Child Tax Credit claim and it is very frustrating.

Second nap in cot lasted 25 mins so an improvement. He is currently on me for his big nap and I will try cot again tomorrow.

My mum came over today and we took O to the park to feed the ducks. He fell asleep.

I'm getting a bit worried about something and would appreciate quiche thoughts on it. Everytime O sees anyone who isn't me or his dad, he cries. He takes a long time to warm to them and will eventually give them a smile, but he won't be held by them.

It has been going on for a while now and I am worried as we have two family meals this weekend and I'm concerned he will freak out in the restaurants.

PetiteRaleuse · 01/05/2013 14:37

LO is asleep in her own room. DD1 agrees that at some point she will sleep in there too, and even got into her bed with me for a story, but she's napping in my bed right now. Baby steps...

I'm kind of sad LO will no longer be in our room, it's another page in her little life turned. Another step towards independence.

DD1 has been going through some developmental leaps these past few days. It's as if potty training has set in motion some kind of change. More steps towards independence. It all makes me realise that the tough times are fleeting in the scheme of things and that as much as we talk about our children they aren't really ours but kinf of on loan til they no longer need us.

YellowWellies · 01/05/2013 14:43

Just back from baby sensory. They should market it as baby anaesthetic Grin Jonas was wiped out by it. I could tell he loved it. Later am making dairy free naughty food - have bought a baking book Smile if I can't buy junk food I can eat I'll make my own. Wink

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 14:47

Afternoon.

Can I first start my sweary wednesday with fucking bastarding arseholing men. Specifically, mine. Sunday night was horrific - I was up til 6am when I got him up to take over. So last night was another horrific night, and I expected DP to do it, since I did the last one.

He is off work too! Paternity leave is about looking after your child, right? So why the fuck did he think he shouldn't have his share of the shitty nights???

Was fucking pointless him doing it anyway, as I was awake through it all.

Fucking dick.

O's rash has cleared, so have given some parsnip. Will see what happens from there.

Bad night put down to either no solids yesterday or cough. He finally conked out with a feed and calpol at 2am after being up and down all night.

Hmm

Oh, and my other swearing can be directed at the fucking knobbers who think an urgent dietician referral is 12 weeks can FUCK OFF. First appt 6th June. WFT? Referral sent in March. Angry

O has been asleep in his pram since 1. I decided not to put him in the cot as his window is open and curtains airing the room of that weird smell and I figured the busy main road would keep him awake. Might try pram naps more often! Plus it was easier rocking him in there! He's still in his swaddle though!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 01/05/2013 14:49

I'm not sure if today is sweary Wed or not but fuck was last night bad.

I have got to the point where I don't want J in my bed, I love him but I need some space back, I want a cuddle with DP if we feel like it. I want to SLEEP!

The cot just results in him waking up on transfer and screaming.
Or if he goes in awake, he'll watch the mobile for 20 mins then scream.

Night times are horrendous all he wants to do if feed, all the time he's feeding he's kicking, hair pulling, scratching or pinching. Sad

DP had said no way are we leaving him to cry in the cot and I don't want that either.

Even daytime naps are on the way out because he wakes within 10/15 mins with a real high pitched scream.
Anything I do get is when he's tucked under my arm to sleep then I might get an hour tops....

Urgh I'm so bloody fed up. Sad

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 14:52

Pass Grin just Grin. Fucking cats and vanish shite! But yes, your house is now clean. Bonus?!

MM Awesome! Finally! Definite intolerance going on there then?!

Re: Tax credits. Only thing I can say about them involves swearing. They are indeed cunts of the highest order. The whole system is full of twunts. VQ they count you as not working even though you are perfectly entitled to take 12 months mat leave? That is very fucking confusing Confused. Are they taking the piss? Is it worth speaking to CAB about it, it can't be right? Surely? I mean isn't it some sort of discrimination. I dunno. Just seems very fucking wrong to me.

ValiumQueen · 01/05/2013 15:28

detective I agree. Legally I am still employed but they say Mat Leave ends after 39 weeks so I am unemployed. Twats. I may well look into it. I was planning on only having a brief period on no pay anyway, not taking the full 12 months.

YellowWellies · 01/05/2013 16:00

VQ I'm wondering if you call again you might get a different response. I heard three different things from the MA people when I called. I wouldn't put it past them to be dishing out disinformation to discourage claimants.

ChunkyChicken · 01/05/2013 16:47

Hi. Not going to even try to catch up (sorry, its just been too long since i even lurked and I have about 5 mins before I will be needed one way or another)... speak of the devil, dd has just emerged from her room

Can I ask a question to reflux Mummies? Or anyone else that might help??!!

I have been giving DS solids for a couple of weeks, just small bits here and there at first and then started porridge. I made sure I bought one without f, as he hasn't had any yet, and so have been making it up with bm.

However, last couple of days he hasn't done much poo and if he has, it's quite thick (more like play doh/paste, not runny but not solid) and he has being sick a LOT. I wondered if it was too much for his tummy, and I have suspected he has very mild reflux, although he wasn't bothered by it, I did wonder if it was too much, too soon.

Last night he was really unsettled, feeding a HUGE amount given the previous 2 nights he was going a good 10-11hrs between feeds. I have tried cycling his legs and gentle tummy massage, and he seems a lot windier than usual.

Does any of this seem familiar to anyone? Any ideas on what I should do?

I thought I might lay off the porridge tomorrow and just do bm, and if he's desperate at dinner time, some simple veg like carrots, or some cooked pear. I bought some baby apple juice in case that would help with the slight constipation he appears to have, although he has a tendency to save it up for a couple of days anyway so I'm all a bit Confused He's 24wo.

Hope everyone else is well as well as can be expected with 6mos etc etc and hope your mum recovers well kyz

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 16:51

Just got 5oz LF mixed with 3GS pepti jr down his majesty's neck. He's calmer after his feed and indeed has discovered he can use the laptop to turn his music on Hmm and has been on his hands and knees attempting crawling minus head dragging!

Fuck you fucking reflux and whatever the hell else is going on. .

VQ what YW said. I put nothing past them.

Clarella · 01/05/2013 17:01

great news mm!

not sure yw it's being faxed and my friend the pharmacist is going to try and get it sorted asap as I think it takes a while to order in. does dairy free help the reflux in your opinion or is it cmpi? sorry if I'm confused with what yiuve had going on.

oh gt so tough for you :( hugs. and all the other tired mummies.

pidj I've discovered pods! drool! so hired one (simply met tai!) to see if pods really are the revelation they say. I tried an amazing simply meI tai but a toddler size and we're both on the mini size but it was like someone was massaging my back Grin I think it was having the extra waist strap that did it though.

(a while later)
epic pod failSad it's gorgeous though!!!

oh I am so fucking close to giving lo tv. I've set myself challenge of no screens till over 2 or 3.Hmm screamy clingy sling refusing baby has been calmed by watching traffic, staring at digital clock on oven and now watching rocking baby chair.(not in it) has to be held by me but not in sling.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 01/05/2013 17:12

It was me clarella with the non nursing bras. Properly gutted!!

YellowWellies · 01/05/2013 17:14

Clarella we're reflux caused by CMPI. Between 30 - 50% of reflux babies have CMPI. In my experience its those with bad reflux that tend to have ishoos with dairy. Medication helps us a lot but I know from the times I've messed up and accidentally eaten even trace dairy - meds wouldn't mean shit without eliminating moo juice from my diet. Oh and about 30% of those with dairy ishoos also fight with soy beans.... so no Chinese to make up for chocolate free life.

A pal with a 10 month old CMPI baby - has just had her daughter self wean off BM - my pal went downstairs and stuffed herself with chocolate. I adore BF but gawd would love it if he did that - its so silly but I do miss favourite foods.

I have a very windy clingy bear so no baking achieved this afternoon. I'd settle for unpacking the shopping!! He seems a bit happier now he's farting like a cart horse. I'm hoping the farts aren't due to the half teaspoonful of apple puree he had at lunch.
Jeez they stink. He clearly has his father's bowels Envy

TheDetective · 01/05/2013 17:25

Clarella due to having an older child and computer game playing DP. No TV would never work here!

O enjoys a few things. He likes to sit in his high chair at around 6pm and watches a little TV or dvd. It keeps him calm while we are busy with dinner and older child etc.

Bit crap, but he can't avoid it completely, so may as well embrace it and make it useful I suppose.

O is now asleep after seeming wide awake. He is lying flat in the buggy, UNSWADDLED! After I pushed him to sleep. Took about 3 minutes. Excellent! Now when the swaddle fucks up, I know what to do!

The reason he is unswaddled is I had to wash it as his last nap made him sweat like fuck, and it was soaking!

His sweat stinks, like his father. YW if J has his fathers bowels, O has his fathers sweat glands. Stinky feckers the pair of them! Oh, and I discovered it was O making his room stink Shock.

Clarella · 01/05/2013 17:35

oh no izzy Sad Sad

yw it was mentioned to me to try by a doc and I did for 10 days but I feel it contributed to my thrush outbreak as I seem to need live yoghurt to keep it at bay. wouldn't I see it in the nappies? we had horriid ones when I had over supply in early days but since then they're a good yellow. he's lots less windy since tt snip. on the other hand for a while I didn't have raw milk aftier the trial so I wonder if sudden increase in symptoms is that. however worrying about cmpi and what I ate actually affected my mh.

I feel docs v supportive and encouraged me to return and keep talking to them if no change.

yw did you see no change in symptoms with meds (sorry I can't remember!)
