Oh and pp great news about the tax credits, it's about time they sorted it out!

ChasingDaisy · 30/04/2013 20:01

Thanks stunt. He certainly knows day from night and only wakes to feed at night so I don't think I need to worry too much about confusing him. Will definitely make the room as dark as possible.

He didn't like the broccoli puree today. I am going to leave it a while as he very possibly isn't ready, only being 22 weeks. Otherwise it looks like BLW for us as he loves nomming on finger food.

FatimaLovesBread · 30/04/2013 20:09

2 per day sounds good. We've got some huggies ones which fasten at the side so could be reused if need be but MIL bought us some asda ones and they have to be pulled on like pants, once they're off there'll be no getting them back on.

What toys if any would you take?

I've been packing the cases and weighing things with the kitchen scales bit by bit as I put them in Grin

I've got 4 of each type of vest (long/short/no sleeve) and 6 babygrows, might reduce babygrows though.

MM My cousin had a naming ceremony, it wasn't an official one she just did all the speaking herself. She had fairy godmothers for her little girl, DH is one, and they did a reading. We won't be having a Christening although I think MIL would like us to.

BPLP M will often break off half way through a feed to play with my hoody string or zip Smile

Don't know if anyone remembers but I mentioned before that M had dry, scabby skin behind one ear which I thought was either dry skin or cradle cap. Well I've been paying extra attention to dry it after a bath, keeping it clean etc. Today it's all scabby again and it's weepy. I think M must scratch it in bed. I've put some sudocrem on it. Do you think it's worth a visit to the doctors with it not clearing up and being weepy? Or maybe put some antiseptic cream or something else on it?

Pikz · 30/04/2013 20:12

Can you all stop posting whilst I catch up on two days... TaWink

ChasingDaisy · 30/04/2013 20:16

Fatima toys wise, I would take a couple of teethers, a lamaze toy and a rattle if I was packing for O. I imagine the new environment will be stimulation enough.

I would probably see the doctor about the weeping skin incase it is eczema. Particularly if you will be taking her swimming a lot on holiday.

YellowWellies · 30/04/2013 20:17

Yey pidj awesome news and well deserved. I hope that's a huge weight off your shoulders.

I'd be tempted by a naming ceremony but am not sure religious family members would get it....

Lovely day here: playgroup, over to my sisters to catch up with her and MM and then a walk on the coastal path. I've managed to rack up 18,000 steps or 9 miles - no wonder I'm knackered. I can't resist a stroll in the sunshine. The bear has been in lovely smiley form - he's clearly appreciating more sleep too.

MissMummy1 · 30/04/2013 20:39

Thanks everyone. I know for a fact religious family (read ILs as my family understand that although we do not share, we respect their believes) will just not get it.

Pikz · 30/04/2013 20:52

Pp that's ace news...

Gt I am so sorry to hear your woes...big hugs Thanks

Izzy defiantly a routine...has helped us ooodles

Think I need to try sleeping back during the day trick as he self settles so well at night but not during the day :(

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 30/04/2013 20:56

stunt I think it was you that asked re naps. He doesn't is the simple answer. Exceptions are made when out and about and he will nap in the car seat. Other than that he snatches ten minutes, twenty max laying in someone!

mm would love to hear your view especially as our two seem so similar!

He has had a EBM bottle at 7pm, finished at 7.30pm and drank the while 6oz bottle so that's more than he had yesterday. I will offer another bottle at 10pm and put him down after that.

He is currently in his bouncer trying to chew his own fist and shouting rather loudly!!

PurplePidjin · 30/04/2013 20:57

I've put some baby lotion on, but will try bottom butter tomorrow - luckily we were given loads of toiletries as i wouldn't have bothered!

Yes, huge weight. No more stressing about whether R really needs new baby grows etc :o obviously we'll still have to be careful but at least i won't feel guilty about the occasional biscuit!

Brockle · 30/04/2013 21:04

fatima the scabby skin sounds a lot like cradle cap as I had that with ds2. I went to drs and they prescribed a cream for it. cradle cap is greasy and sore under the scabby skin. its especially yucky behind the ears.

BigPigLittlePig · 30/04/2013 21:09

Confession time.
Today I googled "baby worms nappy" because I thought F had worms.
Turns out she swallowed more banana than I realised Blush

Evilwater · 30/04/2013 21:12

Well last night was crap! Baby evil was living up to his name, he must have woke 5 times. Damn cough! Now I've got it. Ill go up the drs if N still has it.

Today has been great, out in the sun, walking everywhere! n has been walking in the grass, which was awesome. I've had a veg curry for tea so that's all the exercise wasted.

Evil

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/04/2013 21:14

Just a quickie before I catch up properly.....

fatima instead of taking loads of disposable swim nappies how about taking a reusable one...

mothercare swim nappies

Or these ones are so cute. I know they'll be under a uv thing so not seen but still...

jojo maman bebe swim nappies

You could take one pack of disposables just to be safe. That's what I'm going to do when I go to cyprus in June. DH hates having too much luggage so am going to have to pack light. How I'm going to do that with a toddler and baby I'll never know. And it's pretty rich considering he's taking his golf clubs!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/04/2013 21:32

tits very glad you went to the dr and he is running tests. How long till you get the results? Hope you're feeling ok.

wanna Yay for a good interview. Good luck for getting the job.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/04/2013 21:50

wanna I am glad it went ok. Fingers firmly crossed.

We have had an interesting day. Lots of sleep by the DDs, and I spent far too long on Candy Crush.

DD1 seems to have been incubating words and spewing them out today. Masses of words and new stuff. Great. Except for bugger. She has to not use that anymore. At least until after her trip to England..

One of her new words is Granny, though she pronounces it Aggie. Cute right? Except Great Granny is Gay Aggie. Am hoping my granny will be ok with that come June when we visit her :o

Some of you ( Chunky ) might be interested to know we have had a breakthrough with weaning today. With toast. Purées are enjoyed but this last week spat out. So I have, today, crossed over to the dark side, and given just finger food ( BLW To some) and it is working better.

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 21:57

Isn't it funny how those who wanted to do BLW get puree nommers! and Pureee nommers end up with the BLW's!!

Irony is a fucker!

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 21:58

For those who saw O's rash on FB. I've twigged. It's viral. He's got a tickly cough and a snotty nose.

Hmm

Arsebags.

FatimaLovesBread · 30/04/2013 22:09

Grin Angry at the golf clubs eliza Docthose work the same as the disposable ones then? I.e. just catch poos. I have one from boden but its a bit big, I ordered 6-12 thinking it would last longer but i'm worried shit things might escape. We've got two pack of swim nappies now, MIL likes to buy things on offer. So I don't really want to spend anymore if I don't have to but thanks for the suggestion.

brockles she had a bit of cradle cap on her scalp but that's more or less cleared up.
Will try squeeze her in at the doctors

detective and shelly I might have to cry off Friday Sad just been going through what we've got to do and buy and I think it'd be easier if I didn't come.
We're skint with DH being off work and he won't get paid until next Friday but then he'll have another week of no pay for the week we're on holiday. We need to buy some euros, luckily the holiday is All Inc so we won't need much, we'll also need some money for the airport etc and the cars only got 70 miles of diesel left.
Money for lunch and petrol to/from Trafford Centre is just money I don't have at the moment Sad I really wanted to come though but I think it will give me more time to get things sorted so I won't stress out as much. Especially now I've got to try for a bloody doctors appointment in somewhere to.
Sorry I'm rambling but can we have another meet when I get back and have more available cash

PetiteRaleuse · 30/04/2013 22:13

I saw it and thought heat rash? Bt by six months they control their temp same as anyone else so am not sure.

LO noms pear and carrot purees, and sweet potatoes, and several others. Avocados she likes. But the biggest noms comes from solid rusks, toasts etc. Judging by my diary for DD1 she would now be eating chicken, fish and ham, but she's not there yet.

Bollocks I really am rubbish at this. That was meant to be a PM. Arghh!

PetiteRaleuse · 30/04/2013 22:15

We still have cradle cap here with LO but we have been very VERY careful with baths since her ear perforated and have not been washing her head at all, other than a baby wipe over her face..

DD1 was last treated for cradle cap at about 12 months. It does go eventually.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/04/2013 22:17

Report and ask to be deleted MM if you prefer?

FatimaLovesBread · 30/04/2013 22:17

Didn't see what it said but how did you get that post withdrawn so quickly MM? Are you part of MN? Smile
