ok I'm here too. Yousef is sleeping on me and I am contemplating transferring him to the sofa.

there were ten babies in the baby class this morning and by the end he was the only one awake Grin. he had four adults all singing to him by the end and he loved the attention Grin

oh well, attempting transfer......

ChasingDaisy · 30/04/2013 14:17

I really need to tackle this daytime nap thing soon. Will give it another week or so to get nights a bit more sorted and then Operation Nap in Cot will begin...

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 14:44

I've just caught up! Am sat feeding O in the park! Lovely Grin

He's just been on the swings and the slide! And the seesaw!

Awwww he's currently sat up chatting and smiling at strangers!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 30/04/2013 15:16

Your post made me :) Det

Very sore head yesterday and today. Hungry all the time too. S has been brilliant, cant blame her!

Went to the interview. Wasnt that bad. Not sure how I did or even how long it will be until I hear anything. Going to be in bed for the afternoon, DD1 is at her dads an S is napping anyway.

BigPigLittlePig · 30/04/2013 15:21

Wanna that sounds lovely, glad the interview went ok.

Chasing we've been out in the sun, and to baby group, to give my refresh button a break! For her daytime naps, F now goes in the cot [proud emoticon] probably because I paid for a baby swing. She has a white noise thingy in her room though, which really helps with the transfer. I rock her to sleep with that on, which takes between 3 and 10 minutes, and the machine plays white noise for 15. If she stirs at the transfer, she is reassured by a hand on her back/tummy and the background noise. And after 15 minutes she's out for the count. Need new batteries though as it currently sounds like a ghost has taken up residence.

Detective F made this face ---> Shock when I put her in a swing. Although her baby swing caused a Grin face this morning.

Kyzordz · 30/04/2013 15:37

Glad the interview went ok wanna :)

FatimaLovesBread · 30/04/2013 16:06

HELP!

I'm packing and I seem to have loads. Would anybody Detective fancy letting me PM them a list of what I have for M to see if there's anything we really don't need or that i've forgotten?
I don't want to clutter the thread up with holiday packing shite more than I already have.
I'm struggling to decide on how many long sleeve/short sleeve/sleeveless vests and sleepsuits to pack.

Oh and QQ how many swim nappies would one need for 7 days?

FatimaLovesBread · 30/04/2013 16:21

Massive (((hugs))) to GT Sorry you?re feeling so shit. I hope they can do something for you so you don?t have 18 weeks. If it helps, I started with PGP very early, around 8 weeks so I thought I was going to be in agony all pregnancy. However it died off for the middle of my pregnancy and then came back but was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Fingers crossed it?s not this bad all the time.

Issimma Are you a fellow Wanted Down Under addict, I love it! Some of them are so clueless

Glad you had a better night Izzy

Fingers crossed the bloods get you some answers Tits Do you know how long they?ll take?

Glad the interview went well wanna Fingers crossed

M slept 8:30-12 and then 12:30-7am last night, had a feed then slept until half 8. She?s also napped 11-12:30 and 3:15-4:00. I?ve left her in her cot as she?s busy playing.
Got a joint of beef in the slow cooker and going to roast some parsnips. Yum!

Brockle · 30/04/2013 17:43

I tasted papaya for the first time and didn't like it. Y couldn't get enough of it. babies are weird!

lovely day with Y today. really good tiny stats session and then we played passing the ball this afternoon which consisted of me rolling the ball and Y looking bemused! love this stage when they are all smiley Smile

kirrinIsland · 30/04/2013 17:58

bplp buying a swing does seem to be key. Luckily I got mine off eBay - N has never once napped in it and now goes down in her cot!

How are you doing today GT and Tits ?

Lovely sunny day here - we've been to a toddler group and then spent the afternoon pottering in the garden :)

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 18:29

Go for it Fatima! Swim nappies - are you planning on staying round the pool most days? I'd take a couple for each day you go swimming, as she will be in and out the pool. I used two when we went to a water park. We were there for 4 hours. :)

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 18:32

5 month old babies are not meant to start crawling, are they? Fuck Shock. He's managed to lift him self to hands and knees, and dragged himself along. Only problem was his head! It was on the floor still!!! Grin

O has been a pleasure today - happy and smiling. Watch him melt down as dinner is ready!!

I've lost 4lb in 4 days - weighed self this afternoon. Grin Awesome!

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 18:33

I would think you can buy them there by the way, but I guess it is hassle finding somewhere that sells them in the smaller size. Plus they probably cost more. Stuff your shoes with them!

MissMummy1 · 30/04/2013 18:43

Sorry meant to come back and post last night but left phone downstairs and tablet ran out of battery.

Izzy what you're going through sounds very similar to us a few weeks ago re rash/sleep etc. Will post you a longer message when I get on the laptop but in short we have narrowed it down to an intolerance. Most likely wheat. Will post more later!

Fatima I would say 2per day and hope you can buy more there if needed.

Wanna good luck on the job front!

Mind is blank.

Lovely day here today. Just had some chinese out in the garden Smile . DP started our garden renovation project today by painting one side of the shed Hmm . Only the rest of that and a wall todo then... We are going to get some tires cut in half to make raised planters and veggie patches and then put some colourful lanterns out. I had a lovely garden up north and was really sad when we had to leave it so fc we can make this one our own too! (and stay a little longer please!)

Also christenings. Is anyone having one? We are not in the slightest religious but are considering a 'glistening' / 'celebration of our daughter' party. It won't be as tacky as it sounds!! What is the atheist/scientist equivalent to god parents? And not odd parents as DP suggested... Grin

Hope everyone is doing okay.

MissMummy1 · 30/04/2013 18:44

sp tyres. Damned mobile Angry

ChasingDaisy · 30/04/2013 19:09

pig you and F are my inspiration. Operation Cot starts tomorrow. My plan is to take him into the bedroom at nap time, with the blind down and his projector playing lullabies to create a sleep association. No sleeping bag as I want him to associate that with bed time. Fingers crossed he gets it within a few days.

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 19:14

Chasing O is in his swaddle for day and night sleeps, and has no problems with it :) It helps him know it is sleep time - the bedroom and low lights plus feed let him know it is night time!

TheDetective · 30/04/2013 19:18

No christening here MM. Neither boys christened.

BigPigLittlePig · 30/04/2013 19:19

Chasing naps and bed are totally different here too - at night, she has a naked kick around, gets dressed, sleeping bag on, feed downstairs then into crib. For naps, it's a rock to sleep in a darkened room with white noise, then into cot with a thin blanket.

Kirrin swing was an ebay purchase here too

MM we'll be getting F christened - I was brought up in a Christian family so it is important to me, less so for dh. No idea what the atheist equivalent would be...

Having had a lengthy chat witt my left boob, F is now transfixed by one of those ribbon things inside my top (to hang clothes up with).

BigPigLittlePig · 30/04/2013 19:21

Glad it's nearly sweary Wednesday, the pharmacy didn't have any daktarin and my boobs are getting sorer by the hour Sad

Dixiebell · 30/04/2013 19:26

pidj, will have to get me down to kiddicare Southampton. I'm trying to persuade DH to go on Thursday which he's taken off work. He's a bit Hmm about spending a day of annual leave in a baby superstore...

PurplePidjin · 30/04/2013 19:46

R will be christened, good excuse to get the family together for something other than a funeral DP and i are believers if not attenders - he's 7th day adventist - we're hoping the local rector will be accomodating. It'll hopefully be in September when my aunt is here from America :)

Dixie it won't take all day unless you do m+s and sainsburys too, even then i was home by 4 and we're 45 minutes away!

R has had a cube of parsnip for lunch, then a cube of sweet potato with a tbsp baby rice for dinner! He's only put on 3oz in 3 weeks so the nice bf mw said up his food. He's so active, far more than the other babies in the group (even much older ones!) that he clearly needs it

Anyone got any suggestions for dribble rash?

Oh, and the tax credit fuckers finally pulled their heads out of their arses! £400 or so will be landing in my account in 4 weeks time Wine and every 4 weeks thereafter Wine that's the mortgage and most of the bills sorted Wine :o:o:o:o:o

BigPigLittlePig · 30/04/2013 19:49

Pidj that's wonderful news! I've been putting Palmers bottom butter on Fs dribble rash, and it's clearing up wonderfully. Smells amazing too. It acts as a barrier against the drool, and helps with the dry chapped skin.

StuntNun · 30/04/2013 19:51

MM is you want a non-religious christening you can have a humanist naming ceremony.

I put J into his sleeping bag for all sleeps Chasing and pull the curtains as well. Nighttime is the only time he gets his clothes changed and a story as well. I think that idea of making a difference between day naps and night sleep is for when babies are awake and active a lot at night.

If you find a cure for milk rash please let me know Pidj. I've been keeping it dry, changing bibs frequently, using Oilatum in the bath and applying both emollient cream and hydrocortisone ointment. It still looks really sore. Confused

MM We will be getting S baptised, booked it for 23rd June, my cousins live in Canada and Vietnam and the one that lives in Canada is getting married here on the 21st, so everyone will be here. Should be a good weekend Smile which reminds me I need to sort the invitations.
