Thanks evil. I wouldn't worry about the rolling. He'll get there when he is ready. They are all different. But any real concerns see a HV? Am impressed about the pulling up, DS likes to stand with help but is light years away from pulling himself up.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 21:36

Evil looks can be deceiving! The worst is when she waggles the spoon a bit enthusiastically behind her head and forgets it's in her hand. Total meltdown and she hasn't even dropped it. Numpty.

Madam 5am is a bit savage. I thought 6.15 was bad today Blush

Passmethecrisps · 28/04/2013 21:44

5am is rough. P has taken to waking up singing since we stoppe swaddling her. Usually about 6:30 though and she can happily blether away to Ewan for ages. She sings really quietly as well as though she knows she might wake people up!

evil we are not weaning yet so I know naff all about it but at this stage I would be inclined to leave it for a good while. There is no need to rush and he sounds like he still has a good appetite so better to leave him until whatever is going on passes. It could be something like something he are gave him a sore tummy and he is just a bit wary.

Evilwater · 28/04/2013 21:48

Thanks stunt for the advice, I've tired all the tricks, and they don't work. I'm just a bit worried as he loved his food, but now it's point less.

madam I used to pull him up, but I got tired of pulling him up so he did it himself. My back kills, with all the bending.

big but she was so well behaved! Unlike baby evil.

Evil she appears to have learnt back-arching from N thanks N!, shame she couldn't copy his napping skills. Perhaps another meet is in order, where they can exchange some useful skills! Perhaps madams S could teach F how to not feed overnight??

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 28/04/2013 21:58

Tried putting him down asleep but he woke up. Grumped for a bit then full om screaming :( I'm now feeding lying down on my bed hoping he falls asleep again and I can do yet another transfer.

I'm starting to get to the end of my tether :( we are going to try a new bedtime routine tomorrow. Jammies and bag on at 8pm. Bottled of EBM offered regardless of when last feed was. Put in cot and one parent will stay with him of necessary. Hoping this will mean he eventually associates all this with bedtime!! Any other ideas?? or anyone want to swap babies?!

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 22:02

Izzy no clever ideas here, I just used to feed F on the sofa until I went to bed, and she gradually fell into a deep sleep earlier and earlier. She still feeds to sleep at night, and gets put into her crib asleep. The loss of evenings sucks big time though Sad

Evilwater · 28/04/2013 22:05

big sounds great, can she show him how to roll?and N will show her how to move on his feet.

izzy it was a battle of wills to get baby evil to sleep at bed time. He still pushes the boundaries to see if he can get away with anything. We used the slow withdrawal, and now he's older we are using the rapid return method.

I found I had to be very firm with him, bed is bed! Which some nights weren't easy to do. Wishing you all the luck.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 28/04/2013 22:08

Izzy that sounds awful. I leave S to it when she goes down. But shes never crying. Just grumping. We have had a few nights of the screaming and they were torture. I dont know how you do it every night.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 22:10

Sorry evil, she loves to dance on her feet, and other than the one roll, she thinks rolling's for babies Grin

MsJupiterJones · 28/04/2013 22:10

New bedtime routine attempted tonight. L went up to bed before us! He fell asleep half way through his bottle though and hasn't had his usual bedtime bf (tried to dream feed but mouth firmly shut) so don't know if that means he'll wake up in the night.

I started getting grey hairs during the pregnancy so blamed that although could be because I'm 36 . Feel like my hair is awful atm, actually feel pretty rough in general. Got a nice spot on my chin today which helps Hmm - hormonal?

Hope the rice works Det - it has for DH in the past (he put his in the washing machine!)

Night all, hope you have peaceful nights x

Kyzordz · 28/04/2013 22:25

Loads to reply to! Will try and remember everything fat chance, memory is wank and I'm nackered

yw sounds like you had a lovely day!

det glad your phone works! Sounds like a difficult bedtime! Do not envy you!

izzy is he bathed daily? Our bed time routine starts with bath and music, then gro n bag, then I sing him one song (he gets a grump on if I read, think he hasnt the attention span for a story) then it is bed time. He doesn't have a mobile or anything on as he doesn't need one but used to. Depending on how sleepy he is I stay with him but out of sight and just pop dummy in when needed. Perhaps you could do a little story or some music/soft singing as an association?

evil I'd give a few days off, he still has the appetite for his milk, which is great :)

Btw, baby sis is Elyza, Eric picked it :)

Haven't started weaning again but he seemed awfully interested in my melon so I gave him a chunk just to see what he'd do and he liked gumming it :)

Evilwater · 28/04/2013 22:26

big they can dance together !

Nite all. Sleepy dust all around.

TheDetective · 28/04/2013 22:47

It isn't going well here. :(

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 22:52

Uh oh. Our promising start is crumbling too.
How's the swaddle looking det?

TheDetective · 28/04/2013 22:58

He's in the swaddle. But the disruption of bedtime routine appears to have sent him in to a very bad sleep cycle. :(

He's currently asleep. But we've had 2 wake ups, and very difficult getting him back to sleep. No idea if to go to bed now as in for shit night, or stay up as no point going to bed now to be woken in half an hour.

I think he was woken up by the force of the vomit, and the aftermath of clean up. Bed time was destroyed then! The swaddle was the tip of the iceberg!

ValiumQueen · 28/04/2013 23:39

Anyone else had trouble with ranitidine and increased wind or tummy pains? Awful tonight, but side effects pass within a week apparently. Something that is meant to help his tummy!

TheDetective · 28/04/2013 23:46

Up again. sdnjidfsjiofdjiojio gwjoiew g.

TheDetective · 28/04/2013 23:46

Yes to increased wind, well, not increased as such, but harder to bring up sometimes.

TheDetective · 28/04/2013 23:49

DP is supposed to be going to feed and calpol him. So why did he just wander in the living room with a bottle and stand staring at the TV, while O cries upstairs????!

I don't understand... Confused

GTbaby · 29/04/2013 00:12

LO has just switched on Ewan the sheep himself. Annoying thing is that battery is low so it makes a beep sound which isn't all that soothing.

Have a killer headache. Hip is hurting. Down below aches. Ain't been for a poo for 3 days now Confused

Can I take anything for constipation? I'm not comfortable enough with the new antenatal thread to ask Blush they r at the "oh what's the sex" excited stage. Not "my bodies doing weird things" stage Hmm

TheDetective · 29/04/2013 00:12

He drained a full bottle and went straight to sleep. Now, 7am little boy? 7am??! And all is forgiven Grin. And I might even take you to see the ducks....go on!

TheDetective · 29/04/2013 00:14

You can use lactulose GT but check with GP first, may as well get it on prescription!

ChasingDaisy · 29/04/2013 01:27

First night feed here. 5.5 hours sleep which is definitely an improvement. Just waiting for him to self settle back to sleep whilst I get my arse kicked at WWF by Luis, having a baby seems to have destroyed all of my brain cells

PurplePidjin · 29/04/2013 02:08

Every 2 hours here Sad what went wrong, he used to do 4-5 easily as the first stint Sad i can only cope with the other shit if i get a bit of sleep Sad despite no heating he should be warm enough in wool longies, long sleeved tee sh, dk weight cardi (acrylic) and 2.5 tog sleeping bag with a minkee blanket over him up to his armpits?
