Fifth wake up here. I think. Could be more. I'm completely wrecked. Is this the sixth month growth spurt? He's only 23 weeks so it's a bit early.

YellowWellies · 28/04/2013 05:39

And 2.30-5.30... this had better be the 6 month growth spurt too.....

Clarella · 28/04/2013 06:11

like a muppet I'VE woken lo for a feed!! (kind of dream feed) (massive boobs and worried about kidneys)
pillow resulted in three and half solids hours sleep Shock plus I've been trying to get feeds in early as he's been fussy again in the mornings - doh all horribly similar to when we first had issues. I'm thinking it sort of says reflux if he's slept so soundly upright? didn't wake crying either which he usually does.

Clarella · 28/04/2013 06:12

la la la laaa nooooo such thing as 6 m growth spurt la la la

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 28/04/2013 06:19

Plese tell me there is not a 6 month growth spurt? I am going back to work in 2 weeks which coincides with DS being exactly that age. I don't think I could take more sleep, disruption or DH needing hand holding through what to do every 5 minutes.

Oh, I have woken up in a right grump. Don't know why, yesterday was one of the best days we've had in a very long time. Possibly because DH woke the kids up at 5.45am because he wanted to get up and play Xbox. He had the good grace to take them downstairs though.

Bryzoan · 28/04/2013 06:32

Wowsers. G has just slept from 8.30 to 5.45! Rock on baby g!

Vq I am so glad harmony is restored. I was very sad about your cake though.

Happy birthday VQ
Happy birthday VQ
Happy birthday Valium Queeeeee-
Happy birthday VQ Flowers

Second ones' personalities... Could that be because we spend ages staring at our first imagining their personalities and really getting to know them from their every twitch? I absolutely adore g but just don't get the time to really study him in the same way I used to with dd1 (who I spent every waking moment staring at, and every sleeping moment with her on my chest - there weren't many of them...).

Pidj - glad you had fun. Sounds great.

Packing today as we're off on holiday tomorrow - yipeeeee! Just for a week, no planes and there is a tumble drier in the cottage I've booked - so packing shouldn't be too bad.

Happy Sunday all - hugs to everyone whose had enough. And good luck evil with your chat with dp.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 07:03

DAMN YOU NAPPY FAIL.

fruitpastilles · 28/04/2013 07:15

Morning! Brew To all those who had bad nights, stunt yours sounds particularly bad!
VQ I'm so glad your dh has come to his senses.

Not too bad a night, we had 2 wake ups, the second of which S decided it was party time and wouldn't go back to sleep so ended up in with us. Dp asked me to move her over at 6 which woke her up so up for the day.
There was me hoping for a birthday lie in, no such luck!

MaMaPo · 28/04/2013 07:17

I've had a bad night but its my fault. Feeling quite hungover.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 07:28

Clarella your LO sounds very similar to F at the moment, and it is, I fear, reflux with us. I had no idea excess drool could be because of acid. Her drool burns my fingers where the skin is dry/sore - despite ranitidine.

Speaking off ranitidine, what dose, per kg, are the other reflux babies on? F has been on 1mg/kg, three times a day. Yesterday she missed lunches dose so I gave her double at bed, and she went 5 hours initially. She's been weighed recently so on the correct dosage, but would it be reasonable to increase her dose to 2mg/kg? Or give her the 1mg/kg in 2 doses like yesterday? It's all so confusing.

Returning to work on current level of sleep scares the shit out of me. Nuff said.

VQ so glad dh saw sense, especially glad he decided to celebrate with pepperoni pizza haha.

Detective really glad O is doing so well on some proper grub.

Bryzoan · 28/04/2013 07:29

Happy Birthday Fruit!

StuntNun · 28/04/2013 07:40

Happy birthday Fruit!

I'd like to hear more about your spice rack YW, mine are currently in a cardboard box as I have more than would fit into a conventional spice rack.

I have no idea what's going on with J, he keeps waking up and crying in the night. I thought it might be trapped wind or teeth but a dose of Calpol didn't make any difference. Wonder Weeks have 23-26 weeks as a fussy time. Confused DH is already right at the end of his rope, I heard quite a few swear words yesterday. At least he's off to Switzerland tomorrow for three nights of unbroken sleep work so he'll get a bit of respite. It doesn't help him that much though as travelling and working away from home is stressful and tiring in its own right.

Morning all, sounds like some horrible nights :( Brew to all needing one! and everyone else cos a nice warm drink is just lovely

stunt she had an emergency section with no.5 because she span round last minute and I remember she struggled then. I know this one isn't the same exactly but the hole is the same size, they used the scar from the first one, and I'd rather run around like a blue arsed fly for a few weeks than have it go like the other one did (kept bursting open and getting infected). Was 14 when she had the last one and juggled school and kids then, so hoping I can manage as well now, ESP as dp can help and the kids are much older :)

Good night here, bed at 8, df at 10, wake up for dummy at 4:30, wake up for bottle at 7, back asleep at 7:20 in my bed so no complaints! I do not want to get up and sort the Sunday roast out. Kids like macdonalds right? kidding

I was considering starting solids again for e at 25 weeks but that's this Tuesday and I wonder if it might be a bit too much too soon. Which means I probably shouldn't! Getting there with my very anal with contingency plans etc plan though! I know you have to take baby's lead but figured I should have an idea of what I want to try first and see what happens. I am not stressing though. I might've given him a slice of melon yesterday on a whim because he watched me eat mine, and he gummed it and seemed happy bless him. It felt lovely because neither of us were stressing :)

So peeps, 'Choo all doing today?

You all snuck loads of posts in! Happy birthday fruit

Maybe j is doing some developing then stunt? Hope he goes back to sleeping better soon, and hope your dp feels a bit more refreshed after his break although as you said its just a different kind of tiring really isn't it.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/04/2013 07:54

This will totally jinx me but a wonderful thing has occurred.

After being sent back upstairs to play at 6.15, as it was too early to get up, dsd appears to have had a sulk but fallen back asleep - and is still asleep.

F is asleep in her cot for the 1st nap of the day fecking ridiculous hour to have got up

DH is asleep.

SIIIIIIILLLLENCE

Need a poo but scared pulling chain will wake said slumberers

PetiteRaleuse · 28/04/2013 08:04

Morning,

We're having a six month sleep regression. I'm going to move her into her own room next weekend.

Today we are going to the local farm which is having an open day. There are cows, goats, pigs chickens and rabbits. They have a butcher on site too and there wil be a lttle market of other local producers.

ValiumQueen · 28/04/2013 08:31

pr butcher on site? Hopefully not slaughtering them as one of the displays. May not go down too well.

Thank you for my birthday song Grin and happy birthday fruit

J did 7-7. Woke 4 times, and self settled 4 times. Well done my son.

bp J weighs over 5kg and has 1ml morning and night. Only second day so too soon to see if that works for him. My bottle says if a dose is missed, not to give a double dose next time.

ValiumQueen · 28/04/2013 08:34

izzy please be careful of your MH. I think if I was still having bad nights I would be on something by now. It is so strange with your J as he is such a calm cuddly boy. Could you attach him to a treadmill or something to wear him out? I really feel for you x

ValiumQueen · 28/04/2013 08:58

Bp just to clarify, J has 30mg a day in two doses. He is on the 150mg in 10ml, so 1ml twice a day is 15mg each dose. He weighs over 20lb.

GTbaby · 28/04/2013 09:24

YW piss off. Lol. Only joking. LO start weaning three weeks ago. The yoghurt and lentils are new tho so will space it out. Also kiwi n avocado r new. But just planning on puree n freezing those today to try later on. Can I freeze those?

N deff felt a 6 month growth spurt. Very sleepy baby rather then awake alot. We are bk to normal now though.

Lovely day outside. Hope you all get some sun and fresh air.

PurplePidjin · 28/04/2013 09:39

Happy birthday VQ Thanks and fruit Thanks

StuntNun · 28/04/2013 09:50

GT do you need to puree and freeze kiwi and avocado? I would probably mash the avocado with a fork and just give pieces of sliced kiwi. I have a crinkle cutter which would be good for the kiwi as it's so slippery. I'm doing a mixture of purees and blw. On Friday I have J steamed carrot sticks and pureed carrot and baby rice. He definitely preferred the carrot sticks. I think I'll mix the carrot and sweet potato today as carrot wasn't very popular. We start parsnip tomorrow then I have Ella's Kitchen baby porridge to start breakfasts on Thursday. I can't remember who recommended that as having no milk in but thanks whoever it was! Then next Sunday I'm going to try him on pear. Exciting times! I just wish I had a better freezer. And I am infuriated at the Tommee Tippee weaning pots that can't go in the microwave.

Sorry I must have missed your birthday VQ. Happy birthday for last Monday.
