x post. Glad he has got his act together. Smile

YellowWellies · 27/04/2013 20:44

Stunt sadly he won't take a bottle. He wants nothing to do with it Sad He used to until we ditched bottles during reflux hell in December. We've got to get him used to nutramigen over the next month or so so I can wean him at one (he's unlikely to take it at one otherwise) and the dietician has recommended his sippy cup. I must express next week (when I find which box the pump is in) and test out the cup.

As for squirming / wiggling - same here as at Valium Towers - only when his reflux is bad. Otherwise, piglet that he is, he's just intent on draining the boob, chatting to it and cuddling it when he eats.

He had four really foul smelling poos today (only one of which was a poonami - which was Daddies turn he he) is that anything to worry about.

In other news I've found my herbs and spices and unpacked them in alphabetical order onto the world's biggest spice rack (eBay tactic!). I am a happy bunny.

YellowWellies · 27/04/2013 20:48

tastic not tactic fecking autocorrect.

Great news VQ here's to happy, healthy family meals together Smile Smile

wannabedomesticgoddess · 27/04/2013 20:48

Was just about to come on and fume on your behalf VQ but I see you have talked. Hopefully he has come to his senses. I wouldnt be able to cope with that at all.

S smiles, laughs, lights up when she sees one of us etc, but I dont think I can see her personality. With DD1 I saw it from day one.

I love S. It bubbles in me I love her so much. But theres something missing :(

MissMummy1 · 27/04/2013 20:49

Oh oh oh I meant to say! Pacapod have the best customer service I think I have ever experienced. I bought a pacapod of eBay. It is brand new but I got it v cheao because the zip on the feeder pod was torn. I emailed them asking where I could buy a replacement (after being quoted £20 to have it repaired locally) and they have sent me a brand new one free of charge! It arrived 2 days after I first emailed them!! Well chuffed Grin

The eBay bastards who lost my first tablet case then sent me the wrong one on the other hand....

MissMummy1 · 27/04/2013 20:50

sp off

ValiumQueen · 27/04/2013 21:00

detective we will follow a similar line to SW, and also your approach with meat. We are going to discuss it further, but I feel a lot happier, as does he.

wanna it took a while for DD2s personality to shine through too, not sure why. I do not think there is anything wrong though, just give it time and it will happen, and it will be just as wonderful x

MsJupiterJones · 27/04/2013 21:01

That's great VQ. Delighted he has come to his senses and decided to engage with you rather than making arbitrary decisions. Give the man a bacon sandwich.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/04/2013 21:06

Yay :) :) :)

Night all

ValiumQueen · 27/04/2013 21:07

JJ we are sharing a pepperoni pizza Grin

Clarella · 27/04/2013 21:07

woohoo vq! did he become vegan as he's worried for health or he's now worried for health after being vegan? either way it's not a bad thing but eating healthily can be so much simpler than vegan.

bollocks it's sounding like we're refluxy again. he's woken 3 times since 7:15 but gone to sleep instantly on a pillow. doesn't want a feed. I've been getting the odd bf refusal but assumed he's not interested. will have a chat with the doc on Monday. it's confusing as the first time I went questioning reflux the doc wanted the urine sample which turned out to be a problem but it was still the gavisgon that did the most good initially. it's just getting it into him. just not sure if ranitadine or omezeprol. I don't want ti give anything really it's just becoming ridiculous - trimethoprim, nystatin been giving a bit of gripe water to see if helps and I think I'm gonna have to try gavisgon over night. fucking syringes everywhere AngrySad Angry Sad Angry

thing is wouldn't he be screaming all day with reflux?

Clarella · 27/04/2013 21:11

hmmm was about to say yes to the constant kicking and squirming but thought just excited??? his little refluxy friend on ranitadine was doing it the other day too Confused

Clarella · 27/04/2013 21:13

yw I've been thinking of a sippy cup - which one have you gone for.

crap do I need to do the whole no dairy thing again? really got me down last time Sad

daisychain76 · 27/04/2013 21:33

Have missed about 2 threads duue to work and bridesmaid duties. Haven?t. caught up ~ too tired. H has just had his 2 worst nights sleep ever and he has never slept through or gone longer than 3 hours anyway. So, tonight he has has calpol and bonjela, had ?safe? stuff for tea (sweet potato, cucumber and pear) and has just gone down. Honestly think l will have to take time off work if l don?t get a better couple of nights.

Hope things are goodfor everyone. Going to risk sneaking out of the room to make a coffee now ...

Brockle · 27/04/2013 21:49

evening, thought I would pop my head in to say hello.

yw Y won't take bottles or a soppy cup so we are giving the doidy cup a go. a good bit does end up on his clothes/bib but he is definitely getting the hang of it. I have 2 months to train him before I go back to work.

really glad you got it sorted vq. could you buy DH a veggie cook book and get him into cooking diff meals? I find a menu revamp does us all good. I did a veggie chilli last week with kidney beans and mixed beans for the adults and mixed beans and baked beans for the kids and it was lovely. ignore if I am preaching to the converted.

if I need to do the washing up I pop Y in his tigger door bouncer detective and if I am doing other stuff I usually sit Y under his playgym with my feeding pillow around him for support. he loves that.

saw a friend from work today who bought me smellies and a candy bouquet because I left work early and so I didn't get a leaving present. so lovely Smile

Brockle · 27/04/2013 21:50

sippy not soppy duh!

Passmethecrisps · 27/04/2013 21:50

Cripes a lot happens on this thread.

VQ thank fuck for that. I was about to get into the crispmobile and kick the arse of him.

clarella reflux is not simple sadly. P had one day of 24 hour screaming. Other than that she came and went. Now she is medicated she has very, very occasional acid attacks. Fussy feeding, clingy, gargling, hiccuping and so on are signs as well as bubbly drool. Occassionally I can actually see it pool in P's throat when she is lying down. She gets a but whingy but not screaming and when I lift her up she pulls a wincy face when it comes into her mouth. Maybe look for that.

Passmethecrisps · 27/04/2013 21:55

Oh and detective why do you think you are being bad for getting on with things? The way I see it is that everything is a learning experience at this stage so watching me Hoover is interesting for P. I use the Jumperoo if I am going to be a while but also just leave her lying on the floor with captain calamari and friends - she can now be there some time just rolling around and having fun alone. Entertaining yourself is a skill! Don't feel bad about it. I also sometimes take P into the bathroom with me in the bouncy chair when I shower. The steam is great for her nasal passages and she seems to find the whole thing very interesting

PurplePidjin · 27/04/2013 21:58

Glad he came to his senses, VQ!

R squirms during the day, but i assume he's just distracted. If we're home in the middle of the day i feed him in his room with the curtains closed, sleeping bag and Ewan on. Once he's calm he gets on with it.

Very proud of my gorgeous boy. Went to a friend of dp's for a party. Got there at 4:30, planned to stay till he got hysterical with tiredness, probably around 6. We left at 8 after pass the baby, 2 feeds and a 5 minute nap on my shoulder. Asleep as soon as the car started, stayed asleep through buying Chinese, being brought in in the car seat, eating of Chinese, only woke up when dp started undressing him for bed! Now doing the make-sure-he's-under cuddle in front of a silly film on 5usa :o

I feel like a real proper grown up human being again ShockWineWink

Passmethecrisps · 27/04/2013 21:58

Sorry - me again!

Did anyone bosh pikz with the pilchards earlier? All the 'I am a failure' stuff? Oh meh to that lady. One bad day does not a failure make. Some days I swear P has been learning every single way to push my sodding buttons. She has been doing this thing of pulling her dummy out just to tell about how tired she is! Wah!! Consider yourself fishy.

Passmethecrisps · 27/04/2013 21:59

Love it PP! Few deserve it more!

MsJupiterJones · 27/04/2013 22:06

VQ Grin

Clarella we use the TT free flow sippy cup. Had a MAM vari-flow one with a removable valve but the water just came out too fast. TT works well for us. L likes to grab it but hasn't got the hang of lifting it yet. Have a doidy cup too but haven't braved it!

Has anyone linked to this yet on baby sleep?

Clarella · 27/04/2013 22:10

aw brilliant pidj!

there's definitely distractible leg kicking but it's usually associated with grins too. and solved by feeding in the dark in the bedroom! and a bf cape - wow that was a revelation the other day!! friend had one (I'd poo pooed them thinking only for privacy but oh my goodness they work!)

last night he was feeding quietly and calmly after the initial leg kicking subsided and it frantically started again with squeals. will chat to doc.

{{hugs}} daisy that sounds very tough.Biscuit Wine Thanks

Clarella · 27/04/2013 22:12

thanks Mrs j, was thinking of that one.

yes!! I llove that piece!!! soooooo true!! xx

ValiumQueen · 27/04/2013 22:18

Yes! pikz fish slapping! Sorry, forgot. Oops! Well remembered pass
