Covers over the head and back to sleep Equimum I've perfected the art of going back to sleep after being woken

Thankfully it's pretty mild today, didn't freeze in the night. Boiler still won't light though Hmm I don't mind the heating atm but it means no hot water, I will have stinky children for going back to school on tues! not to mention how stinky I'll be

Well after the nightmare 3hrs getting DS to sleep last night, I got him into his cot an hour later. Then he slept 12-3 and 3.30-6.30 7-8 so I can't complain too much. He's still really snuffly and having problems breathing while feeding!

utopian front to back is easier for them but they still have to do a lot of work so well done DS!!

Recipe for new mums: lie almost naked in very hot steamy room. Get slathered with something that smells delightful. Do nothing for a while but stare at inside of own eyelids. Have someone come and scrub off all your dead skin. Drink mint tea and water. Lie down some more. Shower, lotion and dress. Walk out into sunshine. Feel brand new. Do not think about baby at all much.

DD has the bug Confused Two projectile vomits this morning plus two bad nappies Hmm I've checked her temperature though & seems okay (36.6 and it was under her arm which is apparently 0.5 lower than u set tongue). Have given her a little water which she took. She's exhausted, the poor wee dote so is currently sleeping in my chest. It's been almost 3 hours since she was last sick. When she wakes I'll try her next feed. Hate not being able to help her Hmm

Thank you for all the lovely messages, ladies - any advice you have will be very, very gratefully received xx

Oh no, weejo! You're poor wee DD Sad. Don't really have any advice, sorry, but you have my sympathies.

Yay for rolling, utopian, boo for sleep regression.

Glad you had a lovely time mama.

Yes, you are right, spotty. I mostly just hate to see my precious milk going to waste! Hope you have a fun day at peppa pig.

Seems to be a bit warmer tonight thankfully, I cranked up the dial we have down here but not sure how much that does when the main controls have been turned down. The outside temp is -3 so we definitely have some heating but its under floor so hard to tell.

Agh, I feel bad for moaning. Poor DH had just come home from 12h at work and I thought they could both just pass out but DS gets excited when his dad is home and just wants to stare at him. Now, at 5am, DH is back up again for work. Hopefully today shouldn't be as long a day for him though.

I think my legs might fall off.... Definitely need a long hot bath tonight.

Anyone else's little one leaner to screech? Horrible high pitched screech, it started when he was upset by this cold but he is still doing it (although he does still have the cold so I suppose it could still be that). It's really annoying, drills right through your brain!

Lovely weather today. We walked in the woods and went to the park, ds2 had his first go on the swings, it was a little too windy for his liking though.

I've just sent DH to buy chips as I cba to cook proper dinner Blush

Fuckity fuck I've got another blocked duct same place as last time. When it's happened before it's been because ds has slept more but he is still only going two hourly ATM Sad

Bloody hell spotty - definitely have that bath then. Hope it clears soon.

Had a haircut, first since C was 2 weeks old. God, I look so much better.

Weird non sleeping baby today - 40 mins this morning, 20 mins in pram this pm and I just made her have another 30. Hasn't been too grotty, amazingly, as she's been having lots more sleep than that recently.

Mama, I really need to get my hair cut, haven't had it done since August. Really want it done before mils birthday party on the 23rd but not sure if I'll have time.

Rubbish Spotty massage massage massage again.

I am exhausted today, DS slept for a total of 25 minutes across 3 naptimes, he's just gone to bed at 9:30. I'm doing his bottles and joining him (again). DP is back tomorrow THANK FUCK!

Yah for the giggles, rolls & teeth coming through.
Hope the duct clears quickly spotty and weejo your dd is better & she's managing to keep some fluids down. Little & often is best way with d&v- if you're struggling google oral fluid challenge (using a syringe is the easiest way of doing it when needed but hopefully she's recovered & you won't need to use it :))
Today has been such a lovely day in the sunshine- amazing the impact good weather has on your mood!

willyou 25 mins!! That's tough doesn't give you a chance to recharge. We've been quite lucky with naps & got a good routine going which keeping me sane with 2 under 2! Although the miday & afternoon naps only work if she's in the pram (even if not moving!!) . Ds was the same & I'll tackle moving the miday nap to the cot when she's older but at this age if it's working I'm not messing around with it!

Indeed ddas, I went to Zumba this morning for an hour and had to sing to him from the shower as he refused to sleep and I stank.

2 under 2? Shock hats off to you. I read this thread earlier though and I ached for another one. Must wait until after maternity leave!

No fair spotty. Long hot showers helped shift mine but sure you know all the tricks as you've been here before :-(. Lovely news in the giggle front though.

honey don't worry at all, giggling is not a developmental milestone like social smiling. Some babies laugh more frequently and easily than others. T does not laugh often, and is not particularly smiley or chatty - she does all 3 when she feels like it. Don't think for a minute she's unhappy just quite a quiet personality and likes observing. I know it's really hard when it seems your baby isn't doing what everyone else's is - had it with dd1+2 who didn't roll, T not looking much like it either. As giggling, it's not a developmental milestone so didn't actually matter at all, and if course they love to roll down hills now!
Dd1 particularly was hard to make smile and laugh but she seems to have found her sense of humour now and currently laughs lots.

The farty noises coming from the cot tonight are amazing Grin I'm surprised he hasn't blown his own bottom off!

Report
Secondsop · 14/04/2013 23:40

Yay for the giggles!

Very little rolling here; z is getting good at tummy time but he doesn't roll; he pushes on his legs instead and pushes his little bottom into the air.

Z is doing so well with self-settling. Yesterday I put him in the cot awake and went down to do a couple of errands for a few minutes and he didn't cry so I was pleased. Tonight I put him in the cot while I went to the loo and I could hear him making noises but by the time I came back to the room he was sound asleep. His dummy was on the floor; there's no way he did anything apart from throw it, is there? Oh I suppose he could have spat it out and then flailed.
