Better night here so far. Ds went down perfectly at ten to seven and STAYED ASLEEP! He's just stirred now but I've got him back to sleep sucking my finger, my theory being he will be more hungry at next wake up and hopefully sleep a bit longer after a good feed yeah right

spotty I would be furious! I would also be doing a bit of a tally so when you've stopped feeding you can get some days/nights out and uninterrupted baths. I know money can be an issue so can you ask for vouchers or money towards treat days/nights (for YOU not family) to use when you're ready?

isthat our boiler broke last dec when it was snowing. You'd be surprised how much difference even a small oil filled radiator makes - ours was cheap from tesco - have you got a late opening one dp could pop to?

Our boiler turns off all the time, we're used to it. The landlords use a plumbing company who can't work out what's wrong with it but insist it doesn't need replacing. I'm hoping thesis lords get bored of having to keep paying call out charges and just get a new boiler!

I haven't posted in ages so I feel awful that I am posting now just to be down but having a pretty poor time this weekend! Dad admitted to hospital yesterday, my Grannie is now really ill with a similar thing & think she'll be admitted tonight, my husband is flying back from Chicago tonight and I wish he was just here now and I'm (probably really selfishly) so scared that this terrible gastric flu that my Dad & Grannie have will make DD, DH, my Mum or me really sick too. I'm so sorry to come on & be such a downer - it probably seems very minor stuff to be complaining about! I hope everyone is doing well and babies are thriving xx

Welcome justsome. My little boy is 15 weeks too - well, he will be tomorrow. Scary how quickly the weeks are flying by!

DS is currently gurgling in cot. He doesn't settle in the evenings so usually just comes to bed when we do. Normally he goes down pretty quickly. But he had a long, late nap today, so we'll see!

She's great, thank you :) Rolled for the first time last week & has started reaching for stuff now (mostly my hair but toys too...sometimes!) Sleeping very well, about 11 hours a night. Don't like to say too much though, in case it changes overnight!

Have just spent 3 hrs, rocking, shushing, feeding, calpoling, teething ringing poor DS who is really not himself at all! He's having a tough time breathing, so his feeding is off I think.

Hate hate hate it when they're ill and you can't fix them!

And sorry everyone is having such shitty times with DP's. I genuinely don't understand how they think they can still act like they did pre-baby.

I gave H her first taste of baby rice today to see if she was ready. I was too scared to actually put a spoonful in her mouth so sort of coated the spoon instead. She pulled some pretty interesting faces while licking the spoon. She kept grabbing the spoon off me so think she likes it. Also shes started grabbing her bottle and feeding herself the last week or so but tonight DP put her bottle on the couch whilst winding her and she leant forward and put her mouth round the teat and tried to drink it. It was hilarious. I've really noticed huge differences this week in her like she proper giggle for ages when she finds something funny we even managed to get her on video

Hello all: welcome to justsome, welcome back weejo and sorry to hear of family illness! I hope your other half gets back soon to look after you and help out.

A successful night here - my husband and I left little C with a babysitter (a friend of ours) and went to the theatre and out for a drink. Out from 7-11pm and she was fine, fast asleep all the way through. Am glad, as she had a tricky bedtime and was awake when we left. But apparently she slept fine, took the bottle fine (while asleep) and is still asleep now. I'm about to join her!

It was great to have a night out - we saw The Book of Mormon (who here has tickets - seconds?) and it was just great. I didn't worry or think about little C, and feel like an adult again. Now that I realise just what you can get done in an evening, I'll go out a lot more and leave the baby with my husband or a babysitter.

But now, I'm tired. Off to bed. Fingers crossed little C decides she doesn't need to feed until 3am.

Hello, yes it is me mamapo who has Book of Mormon tickets. We'll leave Z with my mum that evening. (Well, leave my mum with Z).

Hello to the new people and the returners (sorry I haven't kept track of names).

I just settled Z in the cot while I went downstairs and did a couple of short errands (a late night snack for me to eat in bed now DH is away :) , putting stuff in the dryer, getting his bottles and cartons together for the night / morning) and he stayed asleep without crying. He wouldn't stay asleep for even a minute on the sofa (left in a safe position) earlier while I went to the loo. Whilst that was annoying, it has made me hopeful that he is now recognising cot time as sleepy quiet time without anybody holding him or being in the same room. Hopefully when my husband is back and we've got a monitor, we'll get a bit of the evening back. it is bittersweet as I do love cuddling Z on the sofa, but I'm conscious that he's clearly not sleeping as deeply there as he wakes as soon as he doesn't feel an arm around him.

I woke up to express a bottle, then ds woke up for a snack-feed so we're both snuggled up in bed with dp snoring next to us.
at book of mormon tickets. Declared to dp that I want to go for my birthday and he replies "if you can get a ticket". Yeah, I know thats why I'm saying it now!


Now I know this is nothing new but I am so in love with my ds. Absolutely loving watching him grow and develop - giggles and reaching for toys here too! I know I've got a few months of mat leave left but I don't want to go back to work. Think I need to take playing the lottery more seriously!

Went to a friends for some food and chat tonight. Left home around 7.30 sure that DS was pretty much ready to go to sleep for the night. Come home at 9.30, still awake. And DH had tried to feed him expressed milk from an unsterilised bottle with the teat not properly in. Both asleep now (10.15pm) thank goodness, maybe this later bedtime will mean longer until first feed...?

Sleep regression well and truly here with us but I think I'm dealing with it better than when he was newborn and it was all a shock (and giggles and smiles help no end). Dh took him for a bounce last night which helped and has him now while I have a shower to feel more human.

On a plus note he rolled on Friday! Front to back (can't remember which is more common first time.) He looked a bit surprised that he'd managed as he's been trying for ages, poor sweet thing.

Seconds that's exactly why we started putting J down in the cot. He'd only sleep a short time down here but would sleep through upstairs. I still hate not having him here in the evenings and me n DP spend half our time staring at the monitor willing him to wake up so we can bring him down again.
