Oops should of refreshed first -happy birthday barbeasty a play dough lorry sounds fantastic :)

mama sorry about your spa day- can you book it for another day and give yourself something to look forward to?

Willyou I've almost finished a mummies' back in shape exercise class and the midwife leading it checked our stomach muscles to see if they are back together. A couple of people still have a bit of separation (most of the babies are 3-5 months) so I can believe that other bits aren't healed yet.

Thanks mama and spotty. It probably took about ten minutes; I didn't want to overdo it and I know I need to work on technique :)

mama DS always drinks both sides I'm sure he'd empty four boobies if I had them he's a greedy bugger.

Nutella I do a lot of compression when expressing to make sure it's empty. I haven't expressed for ages though...

Well dp said 'so do you mind if I go out for a drink on Monday then?' Me: 'er, it's not a drink it's a meal' dp: 'well I'll just go for a drink and give him his present'. I told him how it had really pissed me off and he was already going out and he just got in a strop and said it wasn't his fault and that I know they never think of us blah blah blah. He refused to discuss it and just went 'fine I won't go then' Sad

Happy birthday barbeasty! Sorry I missed that

Manage to book on short version of spa thing - better than nothing. Glad I got it, otherwise it would be 2 weeks till I could go.

It's the fact she keeps trying to get the hard playdough back now. We still need to work on understanding giving presents!

You'd best be right about the avent hand pump. I invested in one yesterday (half price in mothercare if anyone's after one, and discounts on lots of other bottles & pumps etc) and will test it soon.

DH is taking me out for lunch soon, so MIL is having both DC. She will have the pleasure of being the first to try and give A a bottle. We just haven't had time to try before today.

Spotty- it's so difficult when family make things harder. Can you let this go, if DH is feeling pulled both ways, and have a serious discussion afterwards and set some ground rules.

Happy birthday beasty enjoy a grown up lunch!

nutella I second expressing after morning feed - T always has both boobs so I used to just pump both after she'd finished. I'd also say little and often while you're getting used to it - I found little and often was more effective than a big session.

Thanks for the new thread Isthat Grin

Happy Birthday BeastyWineThanks its mine tomorrow but all the best people where born in April Wink

Spotty i really don't know what i'd do in your situation. Is this the SiL whose party you wanted to go to? Maybe suggest you go to your SiL's and DP look after DC and he can go to BiL's. If DP says you can't because of BF could you not just say you could express some bottles.

Nutella i only ever get 1oz out of one of my breasts when pumping fortunately the other one is capable of about 4oz.

Report
itsMYNutella · 13/04/2013 13:31

Thanks Spotty & Wl. I pumped a bit more after the second feed and am feeling a bit more comfortable using it. It's so easy and light, I'm just hoping I get enough for a bottle Grin

Report
itsMYNutella · 13/04/2013 13:33

Blimey Hales that's a big difference! I pumped the breast I think has less in it more (to try and encourage it a bit) and felt just like a cow was really amazed when the milk started squirting out Grin

I had one that express way less than the other (about 10ml vs 50ml).

Nutella my stomach muscles are still separated I can feel the gap so I presume my pelvis isn't healed yet either.

I feel really fed up today.

Husband has a bad cold (he really isn't feeling well) but he is bring fucking useless.

Baby also has a horrid cold s s has spent ages screaming.

Husband went to work leaving me crying on the sofa with a screaming baby.

I am now at my parents' house on the sofa under a blanket whilst my mum it out walking the baby in the rain to make him sleep.

I feel shitty today Hmm

FoD sorry you're having a shit day but it's nice your mum is looking after you.

My parents are due any minute but I'm trying not to cry. I just saw on dp's football clubs twitter that the game was called off three hours ago. He still merrily went off though and I know he will have seen it.

Now dd's just bitten ds Sad

FoD and spotty sounds like your both having pretty shitty days. I'm thinking we should declare another cake day? (and maybe make this a thing we do when we have a new thread and we're all feeling abit shitty).

Happy birthday barbeasty!

Sorry you're having a shitty day Spotty and FoD.

Had a pretty crappy night last night. The landlord has switched the heating to the "summer" setting as it is technically summer. However, we had 8 inches of snow yesterday so we were all freezing in our beds. DS kept waking up because he was cold :( so ended up bringing him in with us to keep him cosy but got such a stiff neck and hardly slept.

HoneyMumandSon · 13/04/2013 16:50

spotty that's really shitty of him. is change the locks before he comes back can you explain in words of one syllable how unfair he is being at the moment?

FoD sorry you're having a rubbish day too.

I've got a splitting headache and my eyes are hurting I'm so tired. DH won't be home till at least 10 tonight, abd tomorrow it's the local football derby match (Newcastle v Sunderland) at the grounds just round the corner from where he works so he won't be home till really late then either.

Gosh, I'm not sure how many threads have passed since I last posted, so I hope you lovely ladies won't mind me jumping back in.

Sorry you're having such a rubbish day Spotty and FoD. Things have been a bit fractious with my DH too since he missed tha last train last week! I knew he was doing some work with colleagues in the evening, but he called at 10pm to say he'd drunk more than intended but was just about to head home. An hour later (!), he rang to say he'd just left the pub but realised he'd missed the last train. He ended up on the floor of a female collegue's hotel room. He now can't understand why I'm annoyed with him...apparently anyone can miss the last train and need to sleep on someone's floor. He's a 34 year old father! It's not that I don't trust him, but it was flippin' irresponsible!

mama I hope you enjoy your spa session. I went for a massage today - one DH bought me for Christmas. Was lovely to have some "me time".

DS just managed to do a pooh that virtually missed his nappy but covered his vest!

Report
SkiBunnnnny · 13/04/2013 17:39

Hi Equimum! That is awful of you're DH! Of course he is allowed to have an occasional night out. Out of the blue staying out all night is not acceptable. Being a ftm I'm still finding it hard to get my head around how unfair it seems that I have to put my life on hold far more than my DH does. So much for an equal partnership...

Report
IsThatTrue · 13/04/2013 18:06

I'm pretty lucky with DH by the sounds of it. He doesn't drink, goes out every couple of weeks with mates (although if its something that will interest me I'm invited), is just starting to play squash once a week after work. But he runs stuff past me, is happy for me to go out even though it leaves him with all 3 dcs (2 of which are his step children). I'm counting my blessings and feeling like I obviously paid my dues with bastard XH

Well our boiler won't light :( and the estate agents is closed, DS is now in a vest, sleep suit, socks, and a fleecy sleep suit over the top. I've dug out extra blankets for tonight and I'm desperately hoping our quilt dries (as DS pooed while I was changing his nappy this morning so I had to wash it) as the spare one is only a 4.5 tog so me and DH may freeze. Bloody house appears to be falling apart!

Oh no IsThat do you know anyone with a spare oil filled heater? Dp is home and acting like nothing's happened. Then said that he only found out it was called off when he got there and then they went training instead 30 minutes in the opposite direction. I don't believe him though as why wouldn't he send a quick text to tell me and the clubs twitter posted it at 12 and he didn't leave until 2...

Many happy returns Barbeasty. Hope you've had a nice time at lunch.

FOD and Spotty - sorry to hear that you're both having crap days. Unmnetty hugs to you.

Fairly shitty over here too. DS1's having an issue with his boy bits which makes it hurt when he wees. He's therefore terrified to go poor thing, and we have upwards of an hour of him running around in an increasingly frantic fashion until he gives in. Last night he ended up having an accident on the floor which didn't hurt (prob because he was in such a state by then) so he seems to have got it into his head that the floor is the place to go. Hoping this will be v short lived and not a regression back to potty training.

To top it off, DH has been in work and is talking about going in again tomorrow. Not much fun for me given we're a bit stuck going out anywhere too far afield until the wee issue is sorted. OTOH, when he is here he's just moping around and going on about work in a continuous loop so I don't know which is worse.

Think there's a few of us who more than deserve a Wine tonight!

In better news, N has rolled from back to front fully clothed. Unfortunately I missed the exact moment as I was getting something out of the freezer but he had been lying under his playgym but was then on his front looking at the lights on the mat.
