Mamapo that is so the same as us. He pays for the cleaner and ironer so he doesn't have to lift a finger!!

MaMaPo · 18/04/2013 11:02

Pikz, I taught him how to iron! Before baby he used to iron most of his shirts (I'd do some as I'm loads faster than he is plus I don't actually mind ironing). Now I'm at home I do all the ironing - I have plenty of time and when he's home from work I'd prefer us to spend time together, not doing chores.

His mum is still amazed that he'll iron. It's his parents' fault he does nothing round the house, that's what you get when you grow up having a cleaner 3(!) times a week, plus a mother who's a neat freak and never lets anything get dirty or messy anyway. She's a bit insane. I think he turned out the complete opposite (messy) as he's a contrary thing.

PurplePidjin · 18/04/2013 11:47

Thanks and sorry for the self-indulgent whinge. If this sodding child ever goes to sleep i might chase up the tax credits - we're entitled to about 10k a year which is plenty!

If i were renting, I'd get £600 a month for that. I own. I might get the interest paid if I'm lucky. Not worth bothering when my fixed rate repayment mortgage is £350. I can pay that and the bills on £600, I've been budgeting my entire life!

Dp is at a job interview, fingers crossed please!

GTbaby · 18/04/2013 11:50

Ok I'm up for husband bashing.

  • leaves soaks on floor NEXT TO wash basket.
  • his side is also next to window. Whenever his crap n clothes get to much I dump it on the floor for him.
  • I left a pile of washed socks nxt to his draw. Rather then move a box to get access to the draw he put CLEAN socks on floor.
  • I have created a "loose change" box on our dressing table. Yet he puts change nxt to the box.
  • I have a basket for all his pocket crap on dresser as well. N u guessed it! Goes nxt to basket.
-will take out clothes deciding what to wear. But not put them away.

Ok I'm going to stop now. Or I'll never stop.

Passmethecrisps · 18/04/2013 11:59

DH and I are both messy twats. We are the king and queen of pile making. J

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 18/04/2013 12:05

Bad bad night in buzzy household. Gave up in the end and he came in our bed at around 5.30am :(

PurplePidjin · 18/04/2013 12:14

DP? Does 90% of the cooking and laundry. Takes R out for 1h+ every day it's practical so i can relax in the bath and get jobs done. Finds me attractive despite spots, grumpiness, giant flabby paunch and 2 extra stone (one baby, one that i hadn't quite lost before upduffedness hit)

There's my Thankful Thursday Thing - DP

StuntNun · 18/04/2013 12:16

A bit off topic but does anyone have a Which? subscription? The tumble dryer has just packed in and it's seven years old so probably better to replace than repair.

Paracetamol isn't even touching my tooth/sinus/ear thing today. Am going to GP tomorrow evening when DH gets back.

ChasingDaisy · 18/04/2013 12:37

Toy shopping done. And clothes shopping. Oscar smiled cutely at Grandad and bagged some extra toys Wink

Passmethecrisps · 18/04/2013 12:37

Today I am thankful for a visit from VQ - my house looks much tidier than it did this morning!!

I do stunt. Need to check with DH what the log in details are though

Passmethecrisps · 18/04/2013 12:39

PR tooth/ear/sinus? Could it be neuralgia?

I would like to point out that VQ did not tidy my house. I did. Very quickly!

PetiteRaleuse · 18/04/2013 12:42

I don't think so pass it's following a cold and the pain gets worse when I blow my nose. I feel mlike my ear will pop if I blow it any harder iyswim

FatimaLovesBread · 18/04/2013 12:48

Fingers crossed PP! DH is also going to see a man about a job at half one so fingers crossed for him too.

I'm feeling exhausted and low again today Sad but I am thankful for my lovely little family that 18 months ago we didn't even think was possible

Passmethecrisps · 18/04/2013 12:50

I see. I wonder if you have a full on sinus infection with swelling. Poor you! Dr once told me to hang upside down off the bed. Face out the way. Sometimes just too sore though.

StuntNun · 18/04/2013 12:54

Thanks Pass maybe I should sign up for Which? in the hope that it will mean things stop breaking

Fingers crossed fatima!

FatimaLovesBread · 18/04/2013 12:58

PR I suffered from chronic sinusitis for 6 months a couple of years ago. One thing that sometimes helped was a saline douche. So holding one nostril, snort lukewarm salt water up the other the other. Loads of snot ad gun should come out and it should flush out your sinuses for a bit. Or some sudafed?

Passmethecrisps · 18/04/2013 12:59

What kind of dryer stunt? Reverse psychology on the old appliances, eh? Should try that with my sodding car

PetiteRaleuse · 18/04/2013 13:06

My dog has never been ill since I got the pet insurance sorted out. In the two months before that he was in and out of the vet's every bloody week.

Fatima I have the adult version of the saline spray I use on the children I will give it a go but I hate the drowning feeling butndon't tell the kids

As far as painkillers go I only take paracetamol and I can't go to the pharmacy as I feel too ill to tidy the house (and if I don't do that the dog gets destructive)

I'm popping an antihistamine at night as I get hay fever too and that reduced the snottiness. I haven't felt this much in pain since my wisdom teeth came out. And to put that in persoective I have, since then, broken my back and had two c sections and another operation. I'm good with pain generally but tooth ache, or what feels like it, really drags me down.

Donnadoon · 18/04/2013 13:17

Hi everyone Hugs to Horsey Let me know if you fancy a Brum meetup.

ChasingDaisy · 18/04/2013 13:48

Just realised why I have a constant headache. Blooming antidepressants cause me to grit my teeth constantly. Nothing is shifting it. Moan moan moan.

ValiumQueen · 18/04/2013 14:11

Hugs to pr and pp hope your situations soon improve x

I am thankful that I live near the lovely pass and for the company, coffee and activity centre J is borrowing off P. I figure if you can tidy a house with a baby and 20 minutes notice, then it is not that untidy!

I am thankful that my DH is off today so I was able to get out without a child in tow! I am now at baby clinic without baby as he is asleep with Daddy. I am getting funny looks!

I am thankful my boy is the best he has been at 25 weeks today. I am also thankful like pr that this last six months will never happen again, and there will be no more babies.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/04/2013 14:28

I had forgotten what a sunny, easy baby LO is until this week. She has constantly been ill, recovering or coming down with something the last few months, and this week she's a new baby. It's wonderful to see how happy she is. And as a parent it is much easier to be ill ourselves. It's draining to see them suffer and not be able to help as much as we would like. If what I have now is what she had, minus the pmt, then she was very brave. Because if my mum was here I'd be whining something chronic. And she's getting an earful by email as it is :)

YellowWellies · 18/04/2013 15:05

Sophia thank you for the lovely dungaree outfit - he looks gorgeous in it! Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks
