Sophia what a lovely thing for him to do Smile

fruit I love my Sola, fingers crossed for you.

Pikz O's cousin is 20 weeks and eats a very similar amount. He was 6lb 1oz at birth and is now much further up the centiles. He was obviously supposed to be bigger than his birth weight suggested. Certainly doesn't sound like massive amounts to me.

I can really see O's personality developing. Think he is going to be a real livewire Smile

Am nervous about weaning, particularly given the feeding issues we are having. He just doesn't seemed fussed by eating at all. It just seems like such a big thing to get right and I want him to have a good relationship with food. I have had a borderline eating disorder (I know, I've almost clocked up the full set of MH issues...) so am wary of being too strict about foods. There is also a strong family history of allergies and he already has eczema, so I'm very nervous about it all. Feeling quite daunted really Confused

Pass thank you hon! You make me smile! I know they come in all shapes and sizes. I also bet that Jonas as the eldest haggis baby will be the wee'est when we meet on Tuesday. We should get a photo of Jonas and Jacob together as they are just a couple of days apart but the 2nd and 98th (is that right VQ?) centiles and a gorgeous visual reminder of what is normal and healthy.

Just listening to my DH bathing Jonas to a chorus of giggles. Anyone else's baby laugh like a squeaky toy?

PR I'm the same - sometimes I just have to get out to the mountains - luckily I see the sea everyday. I just need it to recharge my brain.

Am I sad?! After bedtime tonight I'm really excited to be ordering a new dishwasher and washing machine for the new house. I've checked out 'Which' and picked which best buys. I'm excited about this. I used to do crazy drugs and travel the world - what's happened!!!! Shock

I used to have a great rack Envy

Wondering if coke would be easier to come by than a snooze. Hoping we will actually sleep tonight. DD1 went without a nap today and is wired. I wish I could apparently have more energy when I don't sleep. Is that an age thing?

Sophia good luck with your rtw.

Pikz I wouldn't worry too much about him eating too much. He will sort himself out. DD1 was 98th centile til her pneumonia and would eat loads several days at a time, then less for a few days. Babies are pretty good at sorting out what they need. Problems with weight gain at this age is more when they aren't gaining enough. So I have been told.

chasing just go with the flow, don't stress yourself. Introduce veggies, fruits than move onto the next stage. Milk still has to be their main food till age 1 so you can't go wrong. O licked carrots, apple and broccoli this week, I think she swallowed only apple. She is getting ready but I don't push her. I will start properly in a month time but I am already introducing taste and texture.

Blush I am glad my pish makes you lot laugh! My rack bears more resemblance to a pair of week old balloons now in comparison to the freshly blown they were before. Meh. That's what bras are for. Just for your information!

sophia!! Tomorrow! Get that bubbly down you. How do you feel about it? I bet you will have a great day actually.

pikz L is a strapping lad so don't worry. They have different appetites just like we do. I genuinely believe that at this stage just feed as he wants. I do wonder if he could be encouraged away from the night feed - purely as he obviously doesn't massively need it. Making the formula more dilute over time could help. If he still takes it and you are happy to give it then all is well.

Bfing mummies, DH is pining for an Indian takeaway. I have been avoiding spicy food as a precaution but had salt and chilli squid on Friday and J was okay. Is a curry a really stupid idea or not?

Stunt I ate curry when bf. it just made the poo smell of garlic a little!!

Thank you... Will stop being neurotic! I have weaned the night feeds down and he does 7.30 til 6am usually with nothing. 1 night in 7 he wants milk at 4.30am so I let him as he's starving and will take 8oz.

pr if I'm really overtired (not chronically sleep deprived though) then I go a bit mental cleaning. After night shifts, my house used to be spotless.

stunt I have had korma/tikka masala but haven't dared to brave anything stronger. Didn't seem to have any effect on F.

We had a nice afternoon at friends, roast beef for dinner with about 8 Yorkshire puddings, yum. F has had 4 feeds all day. Either she's decided feedings for wimps, or I'm in for a shocker of a night. Bit worried about mastitis too...

We are taking O to an aqua park tomorrow. The kind with slides and whatnot. This one to be precise.

Well, it will either be fab, or a fucking nightmare!! Still, there will be 4 of us. I just hope DS1 doesn't do anything stupid very likely when it comes to O. Hmm

Anyone got any ideas how to broach the fact that we are all really hungry? I don't usually eat breakfast, but I would like something to snack on mid morning, fruit, bread, whatever. After lunch at 12.30ish, we are having the evening meal at 7-8pm, which is normal for us, but we do usually have a small snack in between. And access to drinks. And the meal sizes are smaller than we would usually have. I have no money - my Dad promised to exchange some francs for me, but every time I ask he makes an excuse. Other than when we got cheese, but he swapped the exact money.

So I can't buy anything myself.

Still, suppose it is only til wednesday. And I'll lose some weight. Which will be very good for me!!! It's DS1 mostly doing my head in whinging in my ear for food! There isn't anything in to snack on either. Had a sneaky look! No fruit bowl.

Stunt no issue with homemade curry here - don't know about takeaways as I can't have the ghee due to CMPI.

Yay I just won a Tripp trapp on eBay for £51. Saving of £70 and was very close to buying a new one so am very pleased.

chasing don't bother with baby rice. I have started E straight on carrots and butternut squash. Not sure how much she takes in, is very early days but she's been more than happy with it so far.

I have to catch up with Fred and I am probably past the fact. (Bringing up the rear as usual.) but I wanted to say........

pr please stop feeling down and responsible for all the illnesses. Some things just are. We spend so much time trying to think of reasons for stuff when they are part of the tapestry of our lives and how we are who we end up to be. Your girls will probably end up to be really healthy and strong and partly because of what has happened this winter. I think O has had a cold (just a cold nothing like what you have been through) ever since the day he was born, and taken into SCBU because of his breathing. He is still full of snot. And through it all he smiles.

You have done nothing but be a loving mother trying to make the best decisions and choices for your beautiful daughters.

yw 91st for weight, 98th for height. Jonas was 4 weeks early? Jacob was 1 week early and weighed 9lb. Get a pic of Jonas between Jacob and James and he will look like a hot dog.

Wahoo - I've just got into a pair of size ten jeans so decided to get on the scales. I've lost 20 lbs since we left the island in January.

Ok the dairy free diet can do my head in at times (am sure none of you had noticed, Blush Grin ) but meh it has it's benefits. This is what comes from having sorbet as your best available pudding. And not being able to eat much bready stuff or creamy sauces. I've basically been forced to eat healthily against all of my natural preferences.

But I'm under 11 stone again. Get in! At this rate I'll be under 10 in 7 weeks. Then I must eat lots of pork pies to stop losing any more Shock

I need the knowledge of the quiche!
This weekend N has been crying/screaming every afternoon, he has been arching his back pretty much all of the afternoon. He doesn't want to sleep at all, he dosn't want any milk, and walking him around I'm the pram won't settle him. Swaddling him dosn't seem to help at all.

Any idears?

Detective was your dad always this controlling about money? From a lot of your posts about him I'm somehow not too surprised at what you're saying today. It would drive me mad Angry

Evil is he only happy when upright? Burpy? Angry / frustrated / pain cries? If so reflux is my usual guess.

Sometimes only the mummy entertainment system will do for O when he gets like that Evil. He wants me to sing to him. Action songs, lullabies etc. Then play with him. Stand him up, bounce him, rock him. He lets me know when a change is required by whinging. So we move on to the next activity.

He's getting quite demanding with his wants and all the time I've got to guess what the screech means.

Or he could be thirsty?!

Lol at a little cracken dog.

Ehm. . . Oh aye!

When I was in Mexico years ago I was utterly amazed to see proper tiny babies eating crisps covered in proper full-on chilli sauce. We bought some of these to see how hot they were and the sauce was burn your skin hot. The babies had it all over their little faces. Certainly worth a punt at a curry.

Who was saying the other day that they feel as though they have the noisy baby? Some people might remember that I had an aunty with terminal cancer and I was mulling over a visit when P was a few weeks old but then never made it. Well, she died last week so I was all busy making plans to attend the funeral. My mum calls and asks if I am planning to attend. I say yes. She says "eeeeehm. What are you planning to do with penny?" I explain that she will have to be there with me as DH is off to Prague. My poor mum had to say she didn't think that this would be for the best. I am absolutely 100% cool with this (a lot but relieved actually) as when I turned to look at p she was saying "ooooooooo WAAAAAA OOOOOO. Aaaiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Tttttthhhhhrrrrrrppppppp ping" Just to herself. In an empty room. Probably best not to take her to an echoey church - I cannot imagine how much she would enjoy her own voice pinging round the rafters
