Over tired baby successfully wrangled to sleep after only 15 mins! Why do they fight it when they're absolutely exhausted?

If your health visitor's happy Hales then ignore the doctor. You really can't win when it comes to weight gain.

Apart from waking up for that quick feed ds has been asleep for three hours please tell me he will still sleep tonight??

He'll sleep tonight Spotty, I worry about that sometimes but he still sleeps like normal.

I was fed up of DS being asleep on me do I put him down. Surprisingly he stayed asleep but I missed him so picked him up again I'm such a softie!

spotty D has been similar- asleep for the past couple of hours so I'm terrified about tonight but I'm hoping he's catching up from last night and now will sleep tonight.

I think I will wake him at four... He will have been asleep three and a half hours by then....

I want biscuits but D is asleep on me and I can't deal with the grizzles if I try and move.

Oh no Spotty - at least you've still managed to taste it though.

Hales - hope H is better soon. I agree it can be v confusing when there's conflicting advice about weight gain. I'd say if she's normally well and happy (when she's not got a bug) then it doesn't sound like you need to change things. Also bm is often the best thing to prevent dehydration as most babies can keep it down more easily than other fluids when they're ill. Just keep an eye on her for signs of dehydration and get her seen again if you're worried.

Willyou - how is J doing with his teeth? Not sure if you managed to get any granules but they've got them in the chemist near me. Let me know if you'd like me to pm you the details.

He's awful with them ISpy they still haven't got them anywhere so if you could pm me where they have some that'd be great.

Weirdly he's just done what F did Spotty, napped for an hour, yelled for a bottle straight back out. They must all be growing!

I'm off out in an hour for a leaving drink for my friend who's emigrating. I have sick in my hair, no make up on and J is on my lap. Hope my sister (who's babysitting) is early.

And now I need a wee!

Off topic but does anyone know what the rules are on which doctors surgery you are with? My friend has moved out of area and tried changing her address but they said she had to move to her local (crap only offers appointments 9-11 then emergencies only ) one. I'm out of area too but stayed with them.

I don't know spotty, but I can confirm that Memory (that game where you match pairs of cards) is really frustrating when played by a 2 year old.

Picking the same 2, non-matching cards over and over again and then putting them down somewhere different each time.

hales poor Heidi, hope she feels better soon. I'd agree that bm will be good for her, not sure of drs reasoning for reducing ff.

Dd normally naps for 30 mins in her cot, got 10 mins out of her this aft. Just got her off in the sling or she'll never make it to bed time (she did have about 2.5 hours when we were out this morning).

Thinking about the night ahead with dread. How did she go from angel to demon?!

spotty - if you think puzzles are frustrating just wait til she starts learning to read!

Hmm ds is wide awake again no chance of him going to sleep. Will it ruin his whole night and bedtime routine if I just take him back downstairs??

Doubt it spotty we've skipped routine a couple of times for various reasons and had no repercussions

Dd's being awful tonight too might be something in the air' I've brought him down now as when I went in he was sucking his thumb with his muslin over his face

My peaceful lovely cooing baby has been replaced by a shrieking demon! When they scream non stop how the hell am I supposed to work out when he's hungry?! Definitely feel like I'm paying for my good nights sleep!

He's sleepy feeding atm, then I'll be trying to put him into his bed. He's been a pain in the living room in the evenings and I think it's overstimulation.

DS is still wide awake. I will probably go upstairs soon to try and boob him to sleep and then join him No doubt we're in for another crap night.....

a quick brief catch up - hales we had a water infection and those can be symptoms (though might not be) I'd maybe query it at docs. they can be hard to spot.
