Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Interesting to see that lots of babies are waking at 9 or 10pm. Must be a 4 month thing. My husband gave a 9pm dream feed last night - she drank 3oz happily, hooray hooray, and straight back down no waking. Next wakeup was 11.20pm and now.

Hated co sleeping. So uncomfortable.

Ddas, what's your job?

Hope you're all asleep!

utopian99 · 12/04/2013 03:02

Not keen on Co sleeping from a discomfort point of view but it saved my sanity in the early weeks..
O falls asleep/feeds to sleep on me around 8 30/9pm while we watch tv and stays sleeping on my lap till bed at 10. 30ish, although sometimes we put him down before then. Tonight he woke again at midnight and 2.30 though so far. Ugh.

Random middle of the night question for today: my right boob is definitely smaller than my left, and don't think this is due to different draining as have been observing spying on it in a paranoid stylee. Why might this be and will feeding more on that side even things out or make it worse? Can't remember there being an obvious difference before and it's bugging me although you can't tell when dressed.

utopian99 · 12/04/2013 04:56

Went down at 3 and woke up snuffling and squeaking at 4.30. Spent 15 minutes listening to it before picking him up; he wasn't really escalating to a cry but wasn't settling and had turned himself sideways in the cot.
How do you teach them to settle??
and how is everyone bar me still asleep?

HoneyMumandSon · 12/04/2013 05:10

Ugghhhh

Barbeasty · 12/04/2013 06:32

I wasn't going to cosleep, but on my first night at the mlu, DD wouldn't sleep and was just screaming and screaming. A mid-wife came along and swaddled her, then put her into my bed & showed me how to cosleep.

I started straight away with DS. I think it really does save your sanity in those early days and now when we're back to at least every 2 hrs

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 06:42

Utopian you weren't the only one up I promise! Zzzzzz

SeymoreButts · 12/04/2013 07:11

Utopian with DC1 my right boob was smaller, I definitely fed more on the left side and I worked out it was because I could drink tea and flip magazines with my right hand Grin I don't get the chance now but I still feed more on the left because DS prefers it! The left side fills up much faster!

IsThatTrue · 12/04/2013 07:24

I need to eat my words, DS was indeed up until 10.20, then awake at 12 and 1.30 but he was back down at 2 and he's still asleep Shock I've leaked through 2 breast pads on my left. Going to have to express some off now or there's no chance of him latching!

Sorry to hear of others bad nights!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 07:31

Glad you got some sleep IsThat EnvyGrin

Clarella · 12/04/2013 07:32

morning all! sorry for bad nights Sad

despite having a bedside cot I still sleep more when he's in with me now I don't have to pace about for hard hour chasing burps. a friend said cosleeping in the early days is more like co resting - and I can only do it if by myself.

bit of teething issues in the night as he went to sleep at 2 by gnawing my finger with gel on it Hmm

we're generally only managing 2-3 hours before a wake up Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 07:35

Same here Clarella and ds is almost 20 weeks Shock

Another day of rain Angry cake baking and painting it is!

WLmum · 12/04/2013 08:01

T was up about every hour :-(. I did manage to get her in her cot between feeds though so feel a bit better. I don't like co-sleeping but did it/do it out of desperation.
spotty your day sounds like mine, with a trip to toys r us for a prezzie for a party tom. We were going to the park but T will get wet in the sling!

SeymoreButts · 12/04/2013 08:12

DS did 7pm until 10:30pm last night, and then woke up every 2 hours. I need to get into bed at 7!

HoneyMumandSon · 12/04/2013 09:01

D did 8-8.30, 8.45-9.15, 9.30-10.30, midnight-3, 3-.4.45 and then 5.30-6.15. Exhausted.

MaMaPo · 12/04/2013 09:02

We had 3 hourly wakes with one 4 - but I tried the dummy twice so I was up 5 times, up for good at 6. She's already had her 1st nap and I rated and dozed for 50 minutes too.

I can see sunshine outside!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 09:12

Ds has just had a forty minute nap in his cot Smile off to tesco in a bit (spend my life there!)

No sunshine here. Grey and wet. Is there anything more frustrating than trying to do a six piece puzzle with a two year old?! Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 09:13

Oh honey that sounds awful Sad did he want feeding each time?

WLmum · 12/04/2013 09:33

utopian my boobs are quite different, think its just an exaggeration of how they normally are tbh. The smaller right one is def less productive and always has been. I had cause to see a photo of my bare boobs before T was born and I was quite shocked at the obvious difference in size that I had never noticed before.

halestone · 12/04/2013 09:47

Taking H the drs today, she pooed 10 times yesterday and we're already on poo 2 today the 2nd of which managed to go through her nappy, vest, sleep suit, blanket which was folded up underneath her and onto my bed sheets. She seems to be vomiting more and in quites agitated. Shes also drinking loads i think to make up for what shes losing. Hmm

I don't like co-sleeping but i'll do anything to sleep. I get a bad back from it.

HoneyMumandSon · 12/04/2013 09:48

He wanted feeding at 11, 3 and 5, the rest he just wanted to play. He actually screamed until DH ran in the room, turned round and grinned at DH!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 11:20

Ds still won't go more than two hours in the day. He's over 19 weeks now and it's starting to get a bit much Sad

HoneyMumandSon · 12/04/2013 13:28

Ditto spotty but D us 24 weeks. :(

halestone · 12/04/2013 13:33

Are they meant to sleep much during the day? H has only ever napped for 10-15 minutes very rarely she does longer but i thought that was normal.

Well the Dr laughed at me this morning when he said he'd need a stool sample so i whipped one out of my bag haha. I collected it on a cadbury's egg and spoon, spoon and put it in one of my dads urine collection pots. He thinks she has gastroenteritis. He also said i have to watch her weight and start giving her bottles of cool boiled water so she doesn't eat to much. The HV said her weight was fine though as shes always followed the same centile line. I'm wondering is it because i mix feed? Maybe its time to start formula only.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 13:42

Hales. Firstly i think your doctor is wrong so would ignore him re the water. Secondly going to formula completely is more likely to up her weight. 10-15 minutes is pretty short as far as naps are concerned. I like ds to have one nap of at least an hour, preferably 90 minutes (well I would rather two hours but he won't do that) And two naps either side of that of 30-40 mins. A bad day is if he only does three 30 min naps but as long as she is happy then it really doesn't matter. Some babies just don't seem to need it.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2013 14:38

My cake overflowed the tin in the oven...it's not pretty Sad cake tastes good though! Ds has, as he did yesterday, slept for an hour woken for a quick feed and so far slept another hour Confused
