I think twenty minutes max is fine I suppose it's people who leave them in there all day.

Pidj ds is only a week younger than R and 3-6 grows are massive on him Hmm I seem to pop Wink them out big then they grow into tiny people. Dd is nearly three and just into 18-24month clothes

SpottyTeacakes · 07/04/2013 07:32

Oh and ds spends most of his time, when he's supposed to be feeding, grinning at me Hmm

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/04/2013 07:39

Glad you got a short nap Seymore, early night for you and hopefully DS will be obliging.

We're still in 0-3 everything here, but his massive feet are stretching them to the limit. Hoping he'll move up soon, his christening is at the end of the month and his outfit is 3-6.

We have a door bouncer but not a walker, we put him in it last week and loved it but I can't reach the door frame to put it up.

Get yourself a glass of wine Spotty, enjoy yourself and don't rush back Smile

We've got a sharp bit on bottom gum! Hopefully it'll come through quickly.

Off to have bridesmaid hair trial this morning. "Louise" has picked a fantastic style for us all Hmm

FriendofDorothy · 07/04/2013 07:40

My bloody husband is really badly congested and he snored so fucking loud last night. I very nearly put the pillow over his head. I feel knackered :(

Today we have a thanksgiving service at church for our beautiful boy :)

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/04/2013 07:41

Love the cheeky smile when they're supposed to be eating Spotty I can't stay mad at him when he does it

SpottyTeacakes · 07/04/2013 07:43

Grin At Louise WillYou we have to roll ds's sleeves up on his grows but his feet fit must have short arms!

That sounds lovely FoD Smile not the husband bit though. I always poke dp when he snores.

PurplePidjin · 07/04/2013 08:04

We'll be doing the christening in september when my aunt's here from the states. Although we're not church goers so not sure what we'll need to do to organise it apart from ring the vicar! I went to school with his eldest and my gran's in his flock, and he buried my grandad so we're not strangers...

EggsMichelle · 07/04/2013 09:08

We are having a joint naming ceremony in August with Soon to be born niece/nephew. Me and DSis are pagan, DH is humanist and BIL plays war hammer, so we are having a non denominal party! My Nan is very unimpressed and has demanded the babies still wear the embroidered christening shawl Hmm

FoD DH has had a cold this week and making a real racket with the snoring. Sadly he has now developed an ear infection an perforated ear drum!

ISpyPlumPie · 07/04/2013 10:59

We're just moving into 6-9 months vests, tops and babygrows but N has short legs so still in 3-6 months trousers - the next size up hang below his feet so will have to mix and match for a bit.

Have a lovely time at the service FOD. We need to sort N's Christening out soon - determined he's not going to be walking down the aisle like DS1 was (he'd only just turned one so they were little wobbly steps rather than a confident stride but even so...)

HoneyMumandSon · 07/04/2013 11:37

It's just grows that we need to move up a size in. He's quite long and skinny but 0-3 months trousers and tops are still big in him. Weird shaped child!

halestone · 07/04/2013 11:47

I put her in the door bouncer last night she loved itGrin definitely still getting a walker as well tho just so she practice the walking steps. I wouldn't leave her in it too long though because i know she'd hate it.

We've booked the christening for september also Pidj. But thats because i'll be back at work thenHmm so we'll be better off on the money front. My DP is christened Catholic but he is an Atheist in his views. I was never christened but do believe in God so i do want H christened.

Have a lovely time at your service FOD.

Spotty hope you get a nap today it must be awful going back to bad sleeps when your use to good ones.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/04/2013 11:50

No nap for me Hales Smile I'm going out to lunch, I don't feel that tired though. Can you have your child christened if you're not? (Sorry if that's a stupid question!) we didn't get dd christened and won't get ds christened either. I'm not religious so it would be hypocritical.

FriendofDorothy · 07/04/2013 12:04

It was a lovely service. The bishop did the thanksgiving - only because he's also my uncle tho!!

I don't see the point of a christening if you aren't a Christian. The promises you have to make are quite specific.

Barbeasty · 07/04/2013 12:36

We had A baptised at 6 weeks, the same as DD. They and DH are all catholic, and go to church every week.

A has just moved into the 3-6 month stuff. It's a bit big, but the 0-3 is getting small, except the Sainsbury's sleep suits which are at that just right stage.

Does anyone use a hand pump that they'd recommend? Just thinking that when I go back to work in 9 weeks Shock Sad a hand pump is probably a bit more subtle than my madela swing. Still not sure where I'll get to use whatever I have...

halestone · 07/04/2013 13:35

Yes i asked the priest that and he said the church welcomes everyone. Theres no point in me getting christened now but like i said before i definitely believe in God, and its something i want for H even though i'm not myself IYSWIM.

HoneyMumandSon · 07/04/2013 14:45

D won't be christened as we're not religious but would like a naming/celebration ceremony for him but not totally sure where to start. We'll get round to it eventually!

SkiBunnnnny · 07/04/2013 15:33

Barbeasty I have the Philips Avent comfort one. It's the only one I've ever used so I have no frame of reference but I like it! It takes about the same time to get 3oz as it takes LO to feed and he seems happy with that amount so it's probably about as effective as him... If that makes sense?
Does the UK have laws requiring workplaces to provide you with somewhere to pump?

SpottyTeacakes · 07/04/2013 16:44

I just had the one glass of wine and it cost me......£6.40 ShockShockShockShock ds was fine but only drank 60ml ebm. He seemed happy with that though, he seems to be little and often anyway.

EggsMichelle · 07/04/2013 17:14

Honey look on the Internet for humanist naming ceremonies. You can pay someone official too lead it, or find speech templates. We are leading F's, and DH is leading his neices in may and hiring out a village hall.

HoneyMumandSon · 07/04/2013 17:24

Fab, thanks eggs

Barbeasty · 07/04/2013 17:30

Honey we got a leaflet from the register office when we registered A which had something about them offering naming ceremonies, so it might be worth seeing if yours does anything.

Thanks ski. Yes, they legally have to provide a private place (which isn't the toilets) to express, and somewhere to store the milk. I expect I'll have to throw my colleague out of our office each time. And I have no idea what will happen when I'm in Bristol. Unless they've put blinds up in the meeting rooms (glass walls onto the corridor!) I don't think there is anywhere private except the toilets. And with only the one lady's toilet, I wouldn't be popular!

Last time I went back after a year so didn't have to.think about this.

HoneyMumandSon · 07/04/2013 17:39

Do all employers legally have to offer somewhere to express? I work for a very small business so wasn't sure if they would have to comply?

SpottyTeacakes · 07/04/2013 17:43

Yes they do

HoneyMumandSon · 07/04/2013 17:53

Thanks

WLmum · 07/04/2013 19:34

beasty I have an avent hand pump too and have been very happy with it - easy to use and clean - I've also got an avent microwave steriliser which has specific holes for the pump.
