Stacks we ha a rough week last week and T has slept much better the last two nights, but in 12 weeks the longest sleep here has been 6 hours that happened once and I was so amazed and my boobs hurt so much I was awake the last half hour ish waiting for him Grin
Lots of hugs!! Hope your Dad gets to go home today too, at least then you have one less thing to think about. Remember, this too shall pass!Wink

I'm not dieting but suddenly in the last 3-4 weeks the scales have been very kind to me and I've lost about 5lbs Shock I'm hoping DS is sucking out the calories because I haven't been doing anything differently...

No rolling or giggling yet here. Just a very chatty little man Smile although he does seem to respond to laughter which is very cute.

I tried crossing the straps of the manduca but still found however I tried I was carrying his weight in my shoulders Confused I took the moby wrap with me for some tips (and to wear him home) and today he went in with less fuss and it was much more comfortable!! I will soldier on with the moby, it's also very warm and cosy; but it'll be too warm in the summer...

Clarella · 03/04/2013 16:05

oh stacks - huge hugs. could your dp / dh take over from 3 or 4 for you to cram 2/3 hours sleep elsewhere? are you bf? could you leave an emb for that time? so sorry about your dad - hope he's better soon.

hugs to you too pidg, can't be easy for you.

looks like we re all going through this. my dh is living in cloud cuckoo land. we had our nights of only 1 waking at 12 weeks too nutella, exactly 4 weeks ago!

yes I get lots more sleep if I feed him. he's never wide awake playing etc - always drops off immediately but I must admit to trying to shush rock if it's less than an hour or 2 later in the early morning first as sometimes that actually works and works quickly if it's going to work. I think the hammock did it fo.r me last night from 2-5.

I will point out to dh that our son is getting brainier by playing all day and feeding all night so his brain grows.

now we actually can feed without lying down all the time ( managed on sofa and out today!!!!) I'm offering loads in the day but he's not interested. I guess thats another thing they're into! soaking up the world!

arse double post...

IsThatTrue · 03/04/2013 18:37

We've put the cot together! Hurrah! He looks so small in it! and I have to crawl off the end of the bed to get out I've sorted the under bed storage though so my room is looking nice and neat. Selling the Moses basket from downstairs and have replaced it with the crib from our room in the living room as I need a bed nearby for while I'm working. When he's out I'd that ill sell and use the travel cot so it can be put away at night.

Gosh they grow too quickly!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/04/2013 18:52

IsThat he does look tiny! I've got a cot top changer on ours so ds doesn't look quite so small in it Grin

Stacks hope your dad is ok. The frequent feeding will stop I promise but for now it's the best thing for your baby Smile you will look back and think 'oh it wasn't that bad' Wink

WLmum · 03/04/2013 19:54

Hello lovely ladies, I am still here just been super super busy (largely due to other people being arseholes and/or incompetent). Have just about been managing to read the thread but not had time to post. Sorry to hear of non sleeping babies and poorly parents. Hope everyone is well soon.

T is touch wood sleeping quite well, dd1 now has hand foot and mouth too - waiting to see if T gets it. Saw a decent dr today who took dd2s constant illness seriously (was totally expecting to be fobbed off) - she's being v good about taking her yucky antibiotics.

Clarella · 03/04/2013 20:37

argh baby thrown bell curve! didn't want to feed to sleep, seemed to be settling chopping on zebra and dummy (not sucking), lying next to me, started grizzling, plicked up to rock/ bob to sleep grizzling got worse so threw in hammock - instant sleep. wtf

clear vote for hammock.... but feels we should be going for cot! or at least with me?!

my sling allergic cosleeping allergic baby. maybe go with flow and see if he sleeps better and try cot again in a week or so? to be honest if I look at his sleep as a whole he'll actually sleep anywhere if he feels comfy. he's not that arsed about cosleeping except that it's quicker access to boobage.

Clarella · 03/04/2013 20:38

oh dear sorry to hear about poorly dcs wlmum

SpottyTeacakes · 03/04/2013 20:43

Oh dear WL I hope T doesn't catch it.

Well the past few nights ds has been waking in the hour after I've put him down but he hasn't tonight so fingers crossed for a good night.... Hmm

itsMYNutella · 03/04/2013 20:52

DS is a bit out of sorts tonight... I took him to bed a bit earlier and fed him to sleep - he seemed pretty worn out. Since I've put him down he has been crying out as if in pain in his sleep. I'm sure he would wake himself up because it escalates very quickly but I've managed to jump up and soothe him... Just given him some calpol because I have no idea what's wrong Confused he is 13weeks old... Could it be a developmental leap? Anyone experienced something similar?

There was also copious dribble and hand sucking today but I don't think he is teething Hmm no redness or soreness visible...

SpottyTeacakes · 03/04/2013 20:54

Ds's been a bit like this nutella I didn't think it was teething but then thought it was but still not sure Grin lots of dribbling and and chomping but no red cheeks. Two bad nappies the other day made me think it was teeth.... Sorry I'm not being much help!

EggsMichelle · 03/04/2013 21:16

Sounds like teething isthat and spotty. DS doesn't always have the red cheeks, has the dribbling and hand chomping all the time, I tend to use the calpol when his cheeks are red and he's complaining.

I'm trying to keep up, but having a packed week, mixed with major sleep regression (every hour, previously sleeping through) and epic feeding (8x7oz today) are leaving me a little bamboozled. Stacks i know how you feel with the sudden change in sleep, I don't know what to do about feeding, DS is ff, and to get up and warm a bottle every time might wake him up more than a quick cuddle and back to bed. Tonight for the first time ever he resisted his bed time routine, that really threw me off.

On the plus side he is trying to roll tummy-back and we have baby massage starting tomo.

Clarella · 03/04/2013 21:18

could be teeth nutella a friend said her ds has been shrieking in his sleep and another mum we know's ds started teething at 14 weeks. but honestly - it so hard to tell. if it continues tomorrow night maybe a doc visit? I had no idea ds had uti but unsettled at night is a symptom.

mental breakdown in hammock. scrap earlier questions!

EggsMichelle · 03/04/2013 21:19

Oops, meant nutella, I really need some sleep! Oh and my house is up for rent a d the photos are terrible (bathroom picture has been removed on my request as my haemaroid cream was on display!)

Clarella · 03/04/2013 21:20

eggs I think your last sentence might explain his sleep! new skill.....

yep our usual routine up the spout.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/04/2013 21:23

Grin Hahaha at the bathroom photo!! Hilarious!

WLmum · 03/04/2013 22:20

Thanks eggs I needed that laugh!

Sorry some babes are so unsettled -no advice just sympathy. Thankfully for Tabs boob solves all except on rare occaisions when she's tired but full, wants to comfort suck and gets cross with milk coming out. Fx she's started sucking her fingers for comfort.

spotty could the waking in the hour be wind? Tabs is often hard to settle after a night feed and if she's tricky it generally means she won't settle til she's puked! New cot sheet/sleeping bag most mornings - would hate to see my laundry pile dwindle!

FriendofDorothy · 03/04/2013 22:27

Edward has fed for much less than normal. My left boob us massive and I have had to express to ease the pain!

SkiBunnnnny · 03/04/2013 22:36

Heehee eggs, that made me giggle!

DS is similar to yours, spotty and Nutella, SO much drool and lots of chomping on his hand and anything he can grab. Sometimes im sure that its teething if he seems upset but then afterwards i think maybe he was just tired. We got him some teething rings just in case but he isn't really able to hold them himself yet. sometimes I just hold it in his mouth for him and he seems to enjoy having a munch... Although sometimes he just licks it!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/04/2013 23:05

Not sure WL he only did it for three nights and a cuddle sorted him out. Even dp managed to settle him one night!

SeymoreButts · 03/04/2013 23:11

yy to this: tired but full, wants to comfort suck and gets cross with milk coming out. I tried again to give DS a dummy this morning because of this, but as usual he just pushed it out.

Wow, penicillin nappies are pungent. Shock

SkiBunnnnny · 03/04/2013 23:49

Going out to DH's staff party tonight, bit nervous! Left DS with a babysitter once before but we were gone 8.30-12 so he was asleep the whole time we were gone. We are leaving before his normal bedtime this time Confused
Also, we have a toddler coming over to share the babysitter, not sure if my house is v child safe, anything I can do quickly?

EggsMichelle · 04/04/2013 07:08

Good morning!

We must have all slept well, no posts through the night! I have no idea what's going on with this child's sleep, night before awake every hour, last night screamed an hour after going down, then slept through to 6am when DH got up and woke us up! Spent an hour laying in bed waiting for F to wake up before falling back to sleep.

Got our first baby massage group today, very excited!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/04/2013 07:20

Nope, bad night here. I'm eating dd's chocolate rabbit for breakfast to make me feel better.
