Any remaining lurkers, would you like to de-lurk and announce yourselves? We won't bite!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TheDetective · 24/03/2013 13:06

We got 8.30-1130 (white noise chucked in cot and ran out of room) slept til 530, White noise again, slept til 6. Fed. But then awake for the day according to DP!.

I am getting increasingly irritated. DP tries. But fails so much. He just doesn't wake. So ok. I wake him. Once. Twice. Three times. Four times. It took 9 times to get him up. I would accept waking him once. He should just get up when I wake him ffs. If he tells me he will do the night (I don't ask) then I should have a better night sleep and feel more rested yes? Well I don't. I feel worse after one of his nights.

I know I should just be grateful but it's fucking hard sometimes!

TheDetective · 24/03/2013 13:09

However I am thankful that DP has grown up and sold his computer!! We need the space for a baby jail in a couple of months! So he has sold it! It is gone! Out my living room! YES!

Downside is he is buying a laptop instead. But still. The man said he would never have a laptop as he hates them for playing games on! so clearly he is putting us first. Yay!

TheDetective · 24/03/2013 13:11

And he is going to live without a computer for over 2 weeks!!

There might be murder. Not looking forward to his withdrawal symptoms! Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 24/03/2013 13:24

Clearly people are having more fun with their Sunday than me and detective are...

TheDetective · 24/03/2013 13:30

Clearly!!!

Am sat here in PJ's looking for a fucking iron. DP blew ours up. Hmm

Anyone recommend their steam generator? Am looking to spend no more than £130 really.

Non iron owners, ignore and fuck off! I wouldn't mind. I live in non iron clothes lately. But need one for uniforms at least! :(

ChasingDaisy · 24/03/2013 13:37

I'm here too! Pinned to sofa by baby.

Lily I don't think I can make Tuesday but thank you for your kind offer Thanks

Detective I stand by what I said about feeling guilty about you travelling all the way down here but yes I am free on Thursday

So MIL is looking after O while I go to the GP tomorrow. I am very scared that he will just get upset and cry. He can be a very fussy feeder at the moment and difficult to get down for naps. He sleeps on me for most naps and she disapproves of that so I know she will keep trying to put him down and he will keep crying. I worry that I will come back to a scared, tired, hungry baby.

Anyone else have anxiety about leaving their babies with people other than their partners? IL's have been bitching that I don't leave him with anyone because SIL left hers for 3 days and 2 nights at 2 months so she could go away for the weekend

VQ I think O has done 5 hours twice.

Brockle · 24/03/2013 13:38

boring day of washing and cajoling ds1 to do his homework. oh joy. Disney cinemagic on though so yay! well it will be once he's bloody done it.Smile

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/03/2013 13:41

Our iron is pants as I keep blowing them up. I don't mind an iron as long as there is enough trashy TV to watch whilest doing it

DH didn't eat his dessert. So I did. Blush well, it is Sunday. Sunday calories don't count. And it was chocolate cake and custard.

TheDetective · 24/03/2013 13:48

Brockle Thanks, you just reminded me, DS1 has homework. DS1 does not like you much now Grin. Ha! He was supposed to do it on friday. Little sod.

Also, his homework consists of writing what he has eaten. Yesterday he had McDonalds and Chinese takeaway Blush. I told him to make it up, and make it look healthy. Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush

I tend to iron what is needed each day. I do O's in one lot though, as he fucking goes through it like fuck knows what.

chasing I don't care how guilty you feel Grin. I'm coming! End of! Will PM you later...!

ChasingDaisy · 24/03/2013 13:55

Detective you will make me feel inadequate, I never iron O's clothes Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 24/03/2013 14:08

I iron five shirts a week and nothing else, ever. In a few years I will be very glad they don't have school uniform over here.

ChasingDaisy · 24/03/2013 14:09

I iron his clothes when he has grown out of them and I'm packing them away. But not for him to wear. Yeah that's not right.

ValiumQueen · 24/03/2013 14:14

I am here. Thoroughly fucked off, but here. DH put J down for nap at 11.30 without checking nappy, and with the rain on Ewan instead of harp. J did not settle and got hysterical. I was trying to cook dinner. J has just gone down now, two fucking hours late.

ValiumQueen · 24/03/2013 14:18

I have pm'd you pr

Brockle · 24/03/2013 14:28

don't worry my ds1 doesn't like me much either for the same reason Grin

Pikz · 24/03/2013 14:29

I'm here. Knacked with a sleeping baby on me who I think is exhausted by his meds and illness as he is cranky at least every 90mins.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/03/2013 14:30

Pmsl VQ

You'll see why.

Brockle · 24/03/2013 14:31

just caught ds2 trying to pick the cradle cap off Y's head Angry I will love it when Y gets his own back messing with their stuff when he is a toddler Grin

baby nest is blown up and Y likes it and can sit quite nicely when he is not being lazy Smile

Evilwater · 24/03/2013 14:43

Afternoon ladies, and Louis.
I'm catching up on TV, as today is very cold outside, and no rain Grin. P is being a little better today, he even but n to sleep for his afternoon nap. Then he told me off for making too much noise Hmm it's usally him that makes the noise.

I'm watching the sleep programe that was on Tuesday. It seems I'm doing all the right things, I'm not sure why N keeps waking up during the night and not self settling. He used to sleep from 8-8 with no waking, now he wakes 3 times a night.

n tried banana, and wasn't impressed. His face was picture. Baby rice later, around 5.

chasing I hope things are ok. I wish I could come and see you but I'm on the other side of the uk.

detective how the fuck do you find time for ironing? I'm still dressed yet.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 24/03/2013 14:45

stunt I've just had a look at the reverse cycling link. He doesn't nap during the day at all except twenty mins maybe. He fed this morning at 6am and didn't feed til 12.30pm so again went a long stretch between feeds. Would be fab at night! Do you think I should try offering breast more often during the day then? I did try that a few weeks ago but all that happened was he woke every 3hours during the night as well!! I may go start a BF thread and see what advice people can come up with!

Evilwater · 24/03/2013 14:54

detecive I think you DP deserves, massive kudos.

chasing I think it's a natural response about leaving our babies. P says I need to share him more. I think leaving babies with any IL is difficult.

yoko yes, MIL is the bane of my life. I understand, and I'm sending hugs.

Welcome lurkers,

Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

ValiumQueen · 24/03/2013 15:14

J has been vomiting, and is very grouchy. Hope it is a blip, but think it might be the formula. Time will tell.

StuntNun · 24/03/2013 15:17

I think the reverse cycling is more to do with feeding patterns than with sleep Izzy. My DS2 wouldn't take a bottle so when I went back to work at five months I reverse cycled him so that he was getting his breastfeeds through the night and before/after nursery and not needing milk during the day. He still slept at night though sometimes it was just the longest period between feeds was 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. instead of him going eight hours at night.

I made chicken and mushroom vol au vents for lunch today for the first time ever. DS2 ate three even though they had mushrooms in! Will definitely make those again. If I can get anyone to mind J then I'm going to make Nigella Lawson's carrot cupcakes for dessert tonight. So glad to have electricity again.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/03/2013 15:22

Just cleaned up the cage playpen for LO. It was full of cat hair. My cats are bastards. Really trying to get the house organised before DD1 is home full time. DH has been put to work clearning out is massive clothes collection. H has more than me, and his all fit. Not that I'm bitter.

MsJupiterJones · 24/03/2013 15:38

I haven't ironed since I escaped from a nasty relationship with a 36-yr-old chef whose fucking whites I ironed every day for some reason now mysterious to me. I was 19, a student as well as working 35 hrs a week; he worked evenings when he could be bothered. Yet I did all the housework including putting his fucking spices in alphabetical order. Why?

Not so much the one that got away as the one I got away from and met DH at a party 4 days later
