First time on here today so I'm way behind.
lily do you know how long you'll have to wait for the scan? Did the doc seem very concerned or just wanting to check? Hope all is well.
evil I am getting nowhere fast with self settling either - she just cries.
pr DD1 used to only go to sleep on our bed next to me, but then I used to put her in her own bed once asleep - she was fine with that. To get her to settle in her own room I 'baby proofed' it - took out all toys that made noise or lit up, locks on doors I didn't want her to open etc - shut the door (and we have a gate) and just sat on the floor next to her bed in the dark. I let her just wander round etc and essentially ignored her- I gave her a cuddle if she asked for one as that's a sign she's winding down but I didn't speak or engage with her at all other than that. The first night she wandered round for 1.5 hours; the second night was to same but she went on the offensive (!) - started off nicely by bringing me toys etc, which I took and put beside me without saying anything, and then tried very hard to get my attention - hair pulling, poking my face etc. Very hard to ignore but I did - just turned my face away etc. The third night was 45 minutes of wandering, and then 5 minutes! On the 5th night she drank her milk rolled over and fell asleep.
I realise this might not work for everyone, as crucially, she didn't get upset or cry - which obviously.makes it easier to sit it out.
detective glad O has had a good day - long may it continue!
Pickled onion monster munch were one of my many downfalls when I was pregnant, but I was very disappointed at how many there were - or weren't - in a packet. Bloody cheeky really.
