First time on here today so I'm way behind.

lily do you know how long you'll have to wait for the scan? Did the doc seem very concerned or just wanting to check? Hope all is well.

evil I am getting nowhere fast with self settling either - she just cries.

pr DD1 used to only go to sleep on our bed next to me, but then I used to put her in her own bed once asleep - she was fine with that. To get her to settle in her own room I 'baby proofed' it - took out all toys that made noise or lit up, locks on doors I didn't want her to open etc - shut the door (and we have a gate) and just sat on the floor next to her bed in the dark. I let her just wander round etc and essentially ignored her- I gave her a cuddle if she asked for one as that's a sign she's winding down but I didn't speak or engage with her at all other than that. The first night she wandered round for 1.5 hours; the second night was to same but she went on the offensive (!) - started off nicely by bringing me toys etc, which I took and put beside me without saying anything, and then tried very hard to get my attention - hair pulling, poking my face etc. Very hard to ignore but I did - just turned my face away etc. The third night was 45 minutes of wandering, and then 5 minutes! On the 5th night she drank her milk rolled over and fell asleep.

I realise this might not work for everyone, as crucially, she didn't get upset or cry - which obviously.makes it easier to sit it out.

detective glad O has had a good day - long may it continue!

Pickled onion monster munch were one of my many downfalls when I was pregnant, but I was very disappointed at how many there were - or weren't - in a packet. Bloody cheeky really.

ShellyBobbs · 15/03/2013 21:23

Quiche rockers!

VQ I had a little giggle at 'small brain'. Don't know why Confused

misslaughalot · 15/03/2013 21:30

They're drilling next door again Hmm and DP has gone for a boys night out so I don't want to leave babylaughalot asleep on her own in order to go round and ask them to shut up. Banging on the wall isn't working!

Evilwater · 15/03/2013 21:32

Oh no miss laugh. This time of night isn't fun.

Can I nominate this quiche for an award or something? Do MN do awards? They should.

You all win my award anyway. And my love. And gratitude.

TheDetective · 15/03/2013 21:38

This is why I roped you back in! This quiche is bloody awesome.

Really. It is. Every one of us should be proud for we all make it what it is!

PetiteRaleuse · 15/03/2013 21:54

Vive la quiche. Btw people I live in Lorraine, the home of quiche. Vive it goddamit.

applepieinthesky · 15/03/2013 21:58

I know I don't post a lot but I try to read the thread every day and I just wanted to say I fucking love this quiche! You are all awesome.

Drilling at this time of night misslaughalot? Wtf are they doing?

misslaughalot · 15/03/2013 22:04

Drilling has now turned into banging. Loud banging. Apple they are modernising the house before moving in (I assume, as an old lady lived there until she died before Christmas) but have been at it for three weeks now and I can tell there's no carpet in yet as the banging sounds are all echoey. At least babylaughalot seems to be sleeping through it, just wish I could!

ShellyBobbs · 15/03/2013 22:08

Phone the council, they'll have a noise pollution department that may be open.

ValiumQueen · 15/03/2013 22:15

I guess they may be working evenings and weekends on it, but it is very inconsiderate.

I went to bed and 7 minutes later baby sodding woke up. Now being a human dummy. Just as well I love him.

He has had two bottles today and yesterday. Will increase to three tomorrow. He is a bit under par with the jags and I have had a hard day with him and 2yo. 6yo not much better. Come to think of it, DH is not much better. Just as well I love them!

Is it a newt tattoo you're getting Evil?

misslaughalot · 15/03/2013 22:27

Hmmmmm I wasn't actually intending to ask if you were getting a tattoo of a newt...

Evilwater · 15/03/2013 22:28

Well I'll talk to the guy doing it. It will be my very first one. I want N name on my left arm, just below my elbow.
