Instead of marking place, please could those of us with older siblings post something (positive) they are looking forward to as our babies get older. I think it would cheer us up since so many are struggling at the moment.

Crappy night - up every hour and not settling so ended up in bed with us just so we could all get some kip.

Been to hospital today and all ok so second jabs are now booked for tomorrow.

Eliza so glad you are getting out.

thanks bplp and madam. Am on fb group. Will try to find some appropriate pants but car is going in for service/mot :( so will depend on how long it takes as to whether I can make the meet up.

PR acid sounds horrible.

Can't remember what else i was going to say - fuck!

ValiumQueen · 13/03/2013 15:37

Thank you all. He had the rest of the bottle a few minutes later, then fed from me for two swigs. He seems very happy, and the fact that the second feed was sob free, we are both gonna survive this.

Need to learn how to make fucking powder up now as I have been using ready made thus far. I am sure it will come back to me.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/03/2013 15:38

pr if you've been on a high dose for a long time then you would expect rebound symptoms on sudden withdrawal of the medication. I presume your GP is talking about surgery to sever one of the nerves involved with your stomach - drastic and something I have never seen done in the 4 years I've been working, or the 5 years of training. I would wean off the meds slowly, and be guided by symptoms. A gastroscopy once you're off them altogether would be useful to assess whether there is a longterm indication for them (ie. recurrence of ulceration/gastritis)

Fwiw I would have to be heavily sedated hit with a sledgehammer before anyone came near me with an endoscope. You are a braver woman than I!

kirrinIsland · 13/03/2013 15:45

Yay Eliza :)

((hugs)) to sweetpea and tits

N has been awake since 8. How can she not sleep for sooo long. I tried the pram this morning and she chilled nicely but didn't sleep. Now she's dozing on me but wakes as soon as I move. She must be exhausted.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/03/2013 15:50

Great news eliza hope you are home by now.

Sorry about your dad yw, that's going to be tough.

O's second day at nursery. No sweat Mum.

Mum = Sad

Want to go and raid the choclate. Have none....slides over to the weight loss thread.

kirrinIsland · 13/03/2013 15:58

Bugger - forgot to refresh the page before posting.

pikz sorry about the bronchulitis - it's shit but he should recover quicker being that bit older. Thanks

ValiumQueen · 13/03/2013 16:04

J has only just fallen asleep now since 6.30. He had two ten minute naps but they do not count.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/03/2013 16:12

They said I'd likely only get an ulcer again if I took NSAIDs, as I tested negative for H Pylori.

The first gastroscopy I had was without warning in casualty, not even the numbing spray thing, they just shoved the tube down my throat. The woman stood over me shouting Swallow Swallow, don't cough it will just hurt more. it was terrifying. The next one was just with the spray thing but was tolerable. The next two were under full sedation as they were trying to cauterise the bleeding. The 5th one I was in a post op induced coma so that was the easiest :o Then the last one no sedation or numbing thing but under very calm circumstances and a quick in out to check on healing. You kind of get used to them.

I never had acid or any stomach problems until the NSAIDs - post c section prescription and I took fewer than I was supposed to. Am just a freak. So I don't suppose there's any reason why I would have them now.

Right I'm going to book the appontment and look up all the words for rebound and withdrawal in French. I don't want to be opened up again. I assume the consultant wouldn't want to do surgery unecessarily anyway. He said I should take them six months post op, but it's the GP who told me to stay on them Hmm

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 16:17

Afternoon! Home from meeting the lovely Shelly, Daisy and Fatima and of course, Tommy, Huey and Meredith!

Lovely to meet you all!

Shame O decided to vom in my hair and clothes with in 10 mins of arrival he clearly heard those excuses I was making up so that I could buy new clothes... and then slept through the pictures damn it!

I got him a Sophie on the way home. He is mostly finding it amusing because the dog is going mental over the squeaking!

I need a nap now, lightweight!

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 16:21

After my nice positive post...

I am really worried about O. YW do you know how soon I should expect at least some difference from the meds? He's on his 3rd dose now, and fuck all difference. If anything he is possibly worse?

What the fuck do I do now :( Should I give it a few more days or go and ask for demandhypoallergenic formula?

Fucktards.

I wish I knew where to get proper advice from. :(

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 16:24

Pikz I'm so sorry. You must be so worried. I hope he does not need to be admitted. But if he is, he will be in the best place. Lots of positive vibes from here.

VQ Ahem... read this teehehe! I'm surprised I am not on it. Shocked in fact!

Eliza GET IIIIIIIIIIIN! I hope you are on your way home sorry about the discharge stuff, if it is any consolation, the nurses won't be delaying you going because they want to, its just that discharges take least priority in the long list of shit to be done.

ValiumQueen · 13/03/2013 16:34

Fucking Hell Grin seems you have company PR Blush do we get an award or something?

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 16:37

Yes, I'll send you some gaffa tape Grin.

Titsalinabumsquash · 13/03/2013 16:39

Ok what gives!? I give J a bottle of ebm and he drinks it down an he's flat out before his bum touches the pushchair, if its coming direct from the breast he doesn't get tired or sleep??!!!!

Oh well my day of rest turned into a 3 hour walk to town some shopping for clothes that actually fit me without being saggy and baggy and I've done the shopping an collected DS1's new meds is it bed time yet?

Sorry to here about the poorly babies, RSV is massive shit bag.

ValiumQueen · 13/03/2013 16:41

I would find a way Grin

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 16:45

I think they have to work harder with the bottles sometimes tits at least that is my theory.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/03/2013 16:45
Blush
rootypig · 13/03/2013 16:47

hey Tits I am having that at the mo, am giving ebm and some formula in bottles and increasingly relying on the bottle to get S to sleep, the breast just doesn't seem to do it for her any more. she rarely falls into a contented sleep after a bf and is easily distracted, jerking her head around fucking painful

But have just read this www.nbci.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=29:protocol-to-manage-breastmilk-intake&catid=5:information&Itemid=17 linked from Kelly mom - point 10 about bottles and fast flow - and am now wondering if this is causing a problem? am considering having a few days of super frequent breast feeding and no bottles to see if that makes a difference. would like to maintain ebf for 6mo so a good 8 weeks to go, can't take 8 weeks of fussiness at the breast, that's for sure.

Pikz sorry to hear about your little man, glad you're home and hope the inhalers continue to give him (and you) some relief. Thanks

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 16:54

DP has taken O out with him. I am free. I like this.

I need a poo. A poo in peace. I may also have a bath in peace.

Is it wrong to lock the door and pretend to be out when he gets home?

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 17:10

Right. The HV is coming tomorrow, and is going to liaise with the GP.

DP has got a tub of lactose free formula. Do I try it? I don't want to be messing about with all kinds of changes. But I'm not getting any proper professional help with this!! ARGHHHHH!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/03/2013 17:16

Wow. vq pr you do get the gaffa tape award this week. Well done you.

How's it going pikz more smiles? Any food? Xx

Pikz · 13/03/2013 17:16

Looks like we've escaped hospital Grin
He's had 13oz in 5 hours. Such a relief. Now just to hope for a reduction in wheezing but assuming the medication will help him breath.

Thank you quiche. I think he felt your collective hug xx

TheDetective · 13/03/2013 17:19

That's awesome! O is barely having that in 24 hours! Please send feeding vibes this way!

I'll send stay out of hospital vibes your way!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/03/2013 17:22

Great news pikz . Try taking a long hot steamy bath tonight and a ing some rest time and have him in the bathroom. Will help a bit with his airways.

Plan detective. Try the formula, could work. DD1 went onto a Goats milk for us at 10 months and she was lactose intolerant, was brill. ( and ad a sweet baby goat on it)
